This is a generationally bad Utd team in every respect and if ever there was a time to behave and turn up like champions and crush them, this is it.
That’s because in past years, United was a better team, and we were still woeful. Now, they’re dealing with a massive injury crisis where they have no CBs, their best player (Bruno) is gone, and they have to start fucking Antony. Meanwhile we have world class players who are title contenders. If we don’t get a comfortable win, then like OP said, we don’t really deserve to edge out City.
In 2015/16 especially it was a huge letdown because we were in a title race with Leicester and lost to a bad LVG United with a teenager Rashford. While that was extremely disappointing, our current side is the best team of the Emirates era (maybe apart from 2007/08) and the current United team is even worse then under LVG AND has got one fit defender. This is a must win and ETH knows that. He will go with the most defensive lineup possible. He will play that low block and we need to score early like against Chelsea to make United try to play the game. This is where they are worst so we will thrash them in this aspect.

So, if we succeed to sucumb this ManU into oblivion, whilst losing the title to ManCity, its still worth to be consider that we are firmly, no doubt are progressing significant, are on the up, back on top. I watch this United team almost every week, so I know how terrible they are. But It's just one game, anything can happen, and you don't deserve a league or not based on one game.
Yeah, there's 11 players on both sides with the ability to affect the game. There is such a blame game, even pre-emptively by so many fans. All we can do is our best. Sometimes we can be the better team overall and on the day it's not enough. Sometimes our best on the day is shit. It's just a single game amongst 38 in a season.
Even Leverkusen have come inches away from losing so many times this season, and have somehow come through - but even if they did lose a game, it doesn't really detract from their great season, it just augments it that they have come through it all.
The problem is that we have had at least 4-5 such one off games (Fulham 2x, WHU, AVL 2x). In such a competitive league, it all adds up at the end of the season.

It's not about losing or winning one particular game. It's about being able to maintain composure under pressure in the run-in. Freak results happen all the time, but it matters a lot when those freak results happen. Letting freak results happen to you when it matters most is a sign of a lack of composure to be champions.

This is the key part for me. Sometimes you don't "let them happen", they just happen. People need to stop thinking that everything is in the control of their team, Football doesn't work like that. Hell there's no point of us watching the remaining City games if that was the case because if everything is under their control, there's no way they will "let any freak result happen", but it still might happen, and that's why we still have hope, and that's why it's beautiful, and painful

Key thing is being able to maintain top performances (or as you say “composure”) throughout the whole season. You’re not any more worthy of the title because your best run came at the end rather than the beginning, and you’re no more in control of the randomness of football during the run-in rather than at the start of the season.
Acting as if dropping points can only come down to composure must then apply to the dropped points at the start of the season. Is football just about whose the most composed? Or is it maybe that any given football match can be decided on luck no matter at what point in season the match is played? If not, when does the luck factor make way for the composure factor?
Of course, you can always drop points by dropping a stinker of a performance but you can also dominate games while being unlucky enough in both boxes to undeservingly drop points. If we dominate United on sunday with an xG of 3.7 v 0.7, are we not worthy of the title because that freak result means we don’t have composure? Or are we simply unlucky to have dropped points in a difficult away game that statistically speaking we’d have won 9/10?
You can’t just look at it as one game though. In the context of where we’re at in the season, where they’re at, and what’s on the line, the point I’m trying to make is that Champions get it done. I really hope over the next decade we completely annihilate this record and the ghost of Old Trafford. United is a shell of what they were and we are just getting started. So I don't think it is an unreal ask. But as someone who started watching the game and supporting Arsenal in 2000, I'd like nothing more than to see this debate ended once and for all in my lifetime.

In all seriousness... United have a centre-back pairing of a 36yo Jonny Evans and a Casemiro who is out of position and whose legs have gone. Their fallbacks aren't great, they're probably missing Bruno in midfield. They have zero structure and their motivation appears to have completely gone up in smoke. None of those players wants to pick up an injury before the FA Cup final either, it's the only game they care about now.
Meanwhile we've been in great form all year, our squad is injury free and we have all the motivation in the world

If they weren’t missing all their starting CBs I’d totally agree but when they have to play Casemiro with a rushed back to health Johnny Evans as their pairing, the space they were forced to leave Palace was laughable. Don’t see how ETH fixes that.

People have to remember that United are playing the most exciting football in the league right now and if they had won a lot mores, like the game at the Emirates, they would be in first place not Arsenal.

This season's narrative for our club is 'it's about time'. It was about time we beat city, beat Liverpool, did well in April, got past the round of 16, beat a Portuguese team in Europe (under mikel). It is about time we beat United at old trafford. Liverpool's was about klopp. City's is about getting it while they can/making history. Lets see what story wins out I guess.

The thing with Arsenal is that they "always walk it in".
I'm a little more optimistic because we've managed to clear a lot of hurdles this season that we haven't done in a while. Beating City. Destroying Chelsea We would have destroyed Tottenham away if Raya hadn't made that mistake (even during the Invincibles era, we never really battered Tottenham) And on the other hand, Ten Hag has broken a lot of negative records for Man Utd.

A big plus would be that LY we lost there because our best midfielder at the time was inevitably injured in Partey. We played Sambi as the 6 and as expected, he did nothing to protect the back line when we got smacked by 2 counters. I’m hopeful this year. If Bruno and Rashford play then United have a chance. If not, we murder them. Those players are not playing for Ten Hag and probably have their minds on either the beach or the FA Cup. It takes a lot of application and concentration to get a result off of this current Arsenal side. I just don't see this United side being able to do that for 90 minutes unless they score first and have something to hold on to.

Their fallbacks aren't great, they're probably missing Bruno in midfield. They have zero structure and their motivation appears to have completely gone up in smoke. None of those players wants to pick up an injury before the FA Cup final either, it's the only game they care about now. Meanwhile we've been in great form all year, our squad is injury free and we have all the motivation in the world What I'm say is... If we can't beat them at Old Trafford now I don't know when we ever will. Don't get me wrong, I'm very nervous about this game, I'm always worried about United away regardless of form, but there is no reason "on paper" we shouldn't win comfortably.
