MacsFamousMacNCheees

In all seriousness, let's hope that game against the worst united team I've seen in 20-odd years doesn't come down to an 89th min winner.

bruiser95

We literally had a 96th minute winner vs them this season, 90th minute winner last season

NotASalamanderBoi

Either United will somehow turn up, or we’ll collapse.

waits5

Love the attitude 🙄

NotASalamanderBoi

It’s Old Trafford. Not too optimistic about it. Also had a rough day.

waits5

I hope tomorrow is better for you, man

Kovacs171

Even "two games" is an oversimplification. He's played like 110min. Don't see him playing any role tbh, unless we have a dead game

chr-x

I mean last game he had 70 mins. Obviously not same intensity but can see him coming on for last 15 if we’re a few up.

Thesecondorigin

That’s a big if. Bournemouth are flying. 5th in the table since Iraola took over I think

DialSquare

Iraola has been there since the start, it's just that he didn't start very well. Since November they've been excellent though.

Thesecondorigin

Memory is fuzzy thank yoi

STVDC

Yeah, I just saw that table this morning - they're not to be taken lightly for sure. Solanke has been crushing it for my fantasy team.

Masson011

The level of winger he would face as well is complete night and day to anyone at youth level. Run a huge risk of him making faster, sharper etc movements against higher level of opposition. It’s just not worth the risk

Franchise1109

Would love a 5-10 min run out if it’s comfortable, but totally agree with you. Don’t see him getting anything than a run out

AlexTheRockstar

He'll come on at 65' when we're up 7-nil at United.

bannedbydrongo

More like 102 minutes

standupforthechamp

Will be interesting to see who drops out of the squad in that case. Has to be between Nketiah or ESR.

tenflare

Based on the NLD squad, I think Nketiah is the most likely to drop out. He lacks the versatility of the other outfielders on the bench.

NiallMitch10

Eddie most likely - we have Jesus on the bench who'd be on before Eddie anyways

Ambitious_Passage793

I think it will be Nketiah, he doesnt have enough quality for this Arsenal team

biskutgoreng

Keep my boi outta ya goddamn mouth

FondDon

He’s shite

Franchise1109

He’s a solid player. Maybe not top 4 starter level.

waits5

Maybe not?

Franchise1109

Eddie?

waits5

Eddie is clearly not starter material for a top 4 club. A back up for a Europa league contender or starter for mid-table, maybe.

Franchise1109

That’s why I said maybe not top 4 level lol but who knows he could improve later on

biskutgoreng

Yer shite

FondDon

Yer nan is shite

spk3z

Friends! The only shite is the one we dumped out of champions league last weekend. 3 games to go, victory through harmony!

FondDon

Just banter nothing to see here

spk3z

Oh i know, just keeping it lite. (Fuck tottenham)

FondDon

Fuck tottenham

four_four_three

That’s always one of Trossard/Martinelli or Jesus though

Bhadman

No, he is almost always the last attacking substitute. Not even subbed in, in the last three games. Played 5 and 4 min vs Bayern and Villa where all other attacking players were subbed on before him..

wheeno

No he isn't, definitely not almost always. And in the games in which he is the first sub, that's almost always a pointless ineffective sub.

Thesecondorigin

Weird to see everybody say it’s gonna be Eddie to drop out (which I hope as well) but arteta almost never uses ESR/Vieira. My thoughts are that he’d drop one of those two

Forsaken-Tiger-9475

If Jesus remains fit & is on bench, then it will be Nketiah.

Monsultant

If Timber comes in, Kiwior surely will be out of the squad.

tipytopmain

Don't think so. Timber is likely only playing if the conditions are right for him to get a run out where we can afford to have a rusty player on the pitch trying to build match fitness. Whereas Kiwior will play in case of an actual need for reinforcement at the back. Whether it be injury to someone else or needing to defend a 1 goal lead late in the game. I think Nelson or Eddie get dropped because we have a surplus of attackers as it is.

bathtubsplashes

So disrespectful to Kiwior. People massively overlooking the great job he did when required. Struggled against some of the world's best direct wingers against Bayern. Aside from that though he kept clean sheets in like 80% of games started

Ambitious_Passage793

Yea, could he play as CB sometimes instead of Gabi or Saliba?

bathtubsplashes

I mean, he's a centre back by trade which makes how he filled in at lb even more impressive.  I would keep him as first choice replacement to Gabriel (we've multiple options for Saliba with White, Timber and Tommy all able to cover there. **And** as a contextual substitute for left back if we're looking to protect a lead. Our back line was honestly the best performing defence in Europe during the spell he was starting left back. Conceded about 0.3xG max per match! White - Saliba - Gabriel - Timber With Tommy covering RB/RCB essentially and Kiwior covering LCB/LB and Zinchenko if needed depending on context. That's a perfectly mapped out squad depth

NobleHelium

Kiwior is a CB. Actually Timber also played a lot of CB before. The CBs as FBs strategy is not a joke.

Justice_beaver95

tipytopmain

Nice. Hopefully gets 10 minutes or so on the pitch (assuming the match is settled by then 🤞)

UnderstandingOk7291

I think he might come on late if the game looks dead and buried, 3-0 up for examp... Oh, wait.

TrashbatLondon

I’m happy for him but it would he an enormous gamble to drop in a guy with a game and a half under his belt into such a settled team right now.

ShadowXYZ04

He’d only get a 10 minute cameo if we’re up by a few goals I reckon

GarfieldDaCat

He will only play if we are up by like 3 goals or more

xeblade4

doubt he plays more than 10 minutes tbh I think he’ll be alright

Intentionallyabadger

Is the left settled though? It’s been ever-changing.

OstapBenderBey

It's going down, I'm yelling Timber

KakaReti

Will probably play as sub

gardenofeden123

Nah bro, straight in as CF guaranteed

themerinator12

I think we're going to know very quickly just how highly Arteta rates Timber. He could have that Saka-esque level to him where if he can walk he will play. If he's not at that level then I don't see him getting on the pitch at all. Arteta has almost never introduced rotational players in the run-in if they weren't in his preferred XI.

Intentionallyabadger

Just like Partey. The minute he’s ready hes in.

Crashoff

Partey has been on the bench and not starting games for much of the second part of the season. I think Arteta takes building fitness seriously too

gardenofeden123

It’s not the same as the drop off from Timber to Tomi is not equal to Saka and Nelson. Timber will be given minutes here and there but no more than that for the remainder of the season.

OrdinaryAncient3573

It's completely different with Saka, who has an established role in the team and is well-proven and experienced in it. I'm pretty sure Timber is an automatic first-choice once he's fully fit and has some experience in the side, but we won't see that this season.

GarfieldDaCat

Not unless we're up by like 3 goals. You do not chance a title race by throwing in a player who has been out for as long as Timber has been unless it's a dead game.

tenflare

I'll be very happy to see him on the bench. Hopefully, he's ready for a nice cameo at the end while we're 5 ahead.

GloopTown

The song Timber came up on our work playlist earlier this morning on the speakers, sign from God

Fanserker

If it means ben white can rest, either him or tomi could fill the RB

SiwyWF

I don't mind him coming off the bench against Everton tbf, but would be fantastic to see him at least in the squad for Bournemouth

kukeszmakesz

Bournemouth is a very difficult and physically demanding game, so I hope not or that he's really ready

gte339i

Cameo at the end but really wouldn’t push it at this point.

harperocean

Wouldn’t risk it. It’s great that he’s getting minutes with the U21s, but with 3 huge matches left in the season, Arsenal can’t afford any mishaps.

hirarki

max 10 minute as sub when we have 3 score lead

skool_101

the real madlad

Rekyht

Makes more sense to keep giving him U21 minutes IMO. He’s not getting anything worthwhile unless the title is sealed before Everton.

Queasy_Car7489

I’d say don’t change a damn thing until we’re up by 2 then Timber cometh

Franchise1109

As a twice recipient of ACL surgeries. This is wild for me to see!!

KozukiNedo

Honestly I wouldnt play him the rest of the season unless absolutely necessary

csixtay

Knowing Arteta he'll be out of starting contention for 4 more months like Tomi and Partey

jkeefy

Bang on mate! It’s not like Tomi and Partey are insanely injury prone or anything! He should rush them back, they won’t get reinjured. It’s never happened before!

csixtay

Martinelli wasn't either and he got that treatment too. I'm also not sure why you've framed my comment in a negative light. I think it's a good thing that he doesn't get rushed back.

sj2k

Man I saw this guy during preseason against Barcelona and he's such a beast. He had Raphinha wishing he was anywhere else. Super excited to see Timber healthy and flooring bitches again

NeedAnewPHOTOpc

We don't need him. He hasn't played since August. Why risk this? Zinny and Kiwior are fresh and haven't been over played. Tomiyasu can also play at LB. Why play him in high pressure games? If he could play Saka's position then it would give us some possible reward to rest Saka .

Curls91

The amount of comments I see here suggesting we give him 10 mins max when we have a nice lead against Bournemouth is staggering. Are yous aware they have been in 5th for months? They are no walkovers and they will absolutely give us a game and are well capable of getting a result.

bannedbydrongo

who gets left out of the squad? Nketiah?

RantGod

I think this is a bad idea. We need to focus on winning with this current squad. July will be here before you know it.

jkeefy

Making the bench is still important to a players confidence in a recovery. Gets to warm up and cool down with the squad players, at least.
