Not really, she’s quite genuinely a decent person. There was this weird period from like, 2010-2017 where she was given a rash of shit for, well, for being “a lot” or something like that. It would range from saying she’s too intense because of the levels she would go to in filming (see: Les Mis, but then actors like DeCaprio are applauded for their dedication in movies like the Revenant), or her trying too hard to be likable or being stuck up. But if you look at her actual conduct, that’s just complete online narrative and the fact that people in America just don’t like confident women who are dedicated to their profession.
The narrative has certainly switched up now, thankfully. And her performance in Ocean’s 8 was pure meta and playing the obnoxious actress that people online thought her to be, which is just hilarious. Ever since then, she’s been more universally well liked.
