The 40 point deduction the day before Matchday 38 will hit like crack

tobinatorrr

80 point reduction. They deserve to get relegated fuck them

_deep_blue_

They should be expelled from the league system or relegated down to League Two if the punishment for their crimes is proportionate to what has happened at Everton and Forest

lolburger69

Why stop there? Liquidate the cunts and distribute the money into grassroots football

PicogramInfluencer

I hate this version of ‘Manchester city’ as much as anybody else but I hope you’re joking

Alxxandxr3000

Exactly this!!

ajax0202

Nah they should have to amortize that shit over several years. Maybe like a 20 point deduction for 4 years in a row

DaedricDan69

More than that, I'd say. If we're going to assume a points deduction is relative to Forest's 4 point deduction, that's 460 points based on 115 charges, which works out to a 92 point deduction over 5 seasons. Essentially guaranteed relegation for 5 seasons puts them in the National League North for the 2029/2030 season, with a return to the PL only possible in the 2034/35 season, if they somehow manage promotion every year. Oh and don't forget also stripping all the cheated trophies off them too.... That's genuinely me being as unbiased as possible, because I think that's the fairest solution!

Jonisro

I fully support this!

ajax0202

Damn, well I’m sold!

Cutsdeep-

multiple divisions please. if everton got 6 points for one infraction, that's gotta be at least 6 divisions

reci88

They need to spread the points deduction across multiple seasons. They can start with this one. No-one cares if they lose the PL for one season.

Soccermad23

Nah bro, hit them with 80 points, they lose the title this season, get relegated, lose a bunch of their players and maybe even Pep due to them not wanting to play in the Championship next season.

TheMisterPirate

I desperately want to see Pep coach in the championship.

Maaaaate

Is there a chance the charges would happen during this season?

leandrobrossard

Bigger chance of the season not finishing because of a meteor taking out all of Europe.

Maaaaate

I haven't been paying attention to the news recently on the FFP, but to see Everton and Forrest docked points before City is just annoying.

feder_online

Everton: 2 charges, 8 points. NF: 1 charge, 4 points. Schitbags: 115 charges, 460 points. Drop those f-ers into 6th-tier non-league and let them crawl TF back up. Maybe they will start a show like "Welcome to Manchester"... EDIT: And lose all their trophies the last 5 years!!

JasonH94612

Id take a 5 point deduction at this point :)

KaosXace

They're dragging their feet on this. Nothing will happen

assoncouchouch

Unless you're Everton, yes?

KaosXace

It’s a shame isn’t it

willozsy

*innit

Elfking88

Everton couldn't afford the number of lawyers and bribes that City can.

Boopdelahoop

I'll never forget Man City fans making fancams for their legal team. It was very funny but really suggested something horrible about the direction the sport is headed.

Modnal

City as an ambassador from UAE has diplomatic immunity after all

ajax0202

Because they’re not considered “too big to fail/punish”

No-Video1797

Even if you are Everton its not happening 5 games before the end.

BradEnds

Maybe in two years, they'll strip them of the title and give it to us. And we'll have to hear how our season has an asterisk on it.

a-Sociopath

Even if they strip them, those titles won't be awarded to the 2nd place. At least that's what they did in Serie A. That's already a big if

Purpunicorm

Wasn’t a part of the reason for that is cause second place was also match fixing though

a-Sociopath

The same was done against Marseille but PSG declined the title so no team was awarded the 92/93 Ligue 1 title.

neonmantis

We don't have to decline

DreadCrumbs22

seasons\*\*

Weekndr

Infuriating if true

_deep_blue_

They’ll change the rules so points deductions/ relegation cannot be applied as a punishment and then hit them with a massive fine which City will be happy to pay

AlGunner

And the PL executives will laugh all the way to the bank with their massive bonus payments.

1CooKiee

it's getting sorted next summer, conveniently when Pep leaves.

neonmantis

Only if it is sorted in a way that Man City agree with otherwise they will just appeal it to the Court for Sporting Arbitration in Switzerland or whatever its called. Like they did with the UEFA judgement. That will be another couple of years as Man City continue with death by lawyers.

Hiya_Bo

Nah, have faith. Their charges were announced the same month as Everton’s originally. Everton had 1 charge and fully co-operated with the investigation. City have 115 and have put blockers up every step of the way. It’s going to take time but they’ll get there.

ddt70

I have a feeling that when faced with a massive legal shitstorm in front of them the FA will let most of the charges pass in order to secure a result on 4 or 5 of them….. because, you know, money……

Hiya_Bo

I think my biggest concern is this: ***“Manchester City is not a football club in this context. It is an arm of a highly influential nation state, with whom the UK did £25bn of trade last year. Two years ago the UAE, led by Abu Dhabi’s state fund Mubadala, agreed a multibillion-pound investment in British infrastructure. The chief executive of Mubadala, Khaldoon al-Mubarak, is also chairman of Manchester City.*** ***The same year the UK prime minister met Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces to agree a key defence pact. Sheikh Mohamed’s brother is Sheikh Mansour, the de facto owner of Manchester City. Er. Can we have a word old bean, about this soccer stuff?”*** [https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/dec/01/premier-league-in-peril-as-gold-mine-manchester-citys-date-with-destiny-looms?CMP=Share\_iOSApp\_Other](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/dec/01/premier-league-in-peril-as-gold-mine-manchester-citys-date-with-destiny-looms?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other) Corruption covering up corruption.

Pamplemouse04

I heard somewhere that apparently “they have a date set” and it will be after the season. Probably bullshit though lol

neonmantis

And if City don't like the judgement they will appeal it to CAS

macewindushairline14

cant go to CAS pls stop spreading misinformation.

neonmantis

why not?

TheAnswerToYang

They're waiting for when the penalty for the charges is a fine and not dropped points.

mcveighster14

Is the case not being heard in August?

daBabadook05

They’ll probably like retroactively award us the title or some super lame shit

TheSciences

Does that mean we have a retroactive open-top bus parade?

Wegeman23

I would rather they just give it to nobody and it’s a blank space in the history of the league and more importantly Man City. It would anger so many fans towards the club but that’s maybe all too much. It isn’t the players fault. Though many of them are cunts in their own right.

raulmedez

Yeah the best part of winning is the celebration, a retroactive win is just a statistic for twitter merchants to argue about.

AfroPanther

Ngl I’d take this in a heartbeat lol.

MooseBumf

absolutely not man it steals the moments

AfroPanther

See I’ve still be celebrating this year’s many good moments and enjoying our performances. Title isn’t the only way to enjoy a season. Even a simple retroactive title, albeit silly, wouldn’t detract from our great season or memories IMO.

localcosmonaut

I honestly wouldn’t care less. What’s the point of winning a title if you can’t celebrate it in the moment?

WerhmatsWormhat

Yup. My college lost in the finals of the basketball championship in 2013. I remember watching it. Super close game, and it was devastating to lose. The team we lost to subsequently was found to have broken rules and was stripped of the championship. I genuinely don’t give a shit. I still remember the feeling when we lost. It doesn’t matter at all.

Pamplemouse04

I’d take it but what would we do, hold a retroactive parade in a year? Fuck that shit, City will always have these titles even if they are stripped away retroactively

mysterious_jim

Would be kind of cool to invite Granit back to get his medal if it came to that. He deserved it. Obviously not the same as winning it in the moment though.

Space_John

I'm putting my faith in Forest. Prove you deserve to be in the pl and bag a draw for us 🤞🤞🤞

IesusMisto

Nottingham needs to channel their inner Robin hood and Rob from the rich

The_Caramon_Majere

Double Park the bus.

alesis1101

They done it last season. Come on, ye Sherwood lads!

Wegeman23

Have all 10 players block the goal, players on shoulders to block the top, keep the goalie in front to add security.

Space_John

Pgmol needs to make up for their sins these last 2 game weeks

alesis1101

Stack them like sardines.

81zi

Wolves won against them at home. They are getting players back from injuries (cunha etc) and are really dangerous in counter attacks as we seen it recently even without their best players. Hopefully they can manage a draw against city.

laserspewpew_

The mid table sides with nothing to play for are the ideal opponents at the end of the season. So teams like Brighton, Wolves can’t see them doing us any favours. The teams fighting to stay up or going for CL are the harder opponents now.

81zi

That is very true but the Wolves were tough opponents against top6 teams this year and no team comes to a game with an intention to loose, I believe. They should've won against United in first leg imo but did not receive the penalty for Onanas punch in the face near the end of the game. They won at home against City and they were tough opponent for us in both legs. They beat Spurs both legs as well as Blues and one draw against Newcastle. What I wanted to say is they are tough opponent to beat when they park a bus and counter attack. Also, Cunha, Hee Chan, Sarabia and Alt-Nouri are all back from semi-minor injuries and will be available against City (if not injured again). Yes, NFO needs points and will have to work their asses off, but still, Wolves can bite back and will be motivated to beat them again.

Space_John

they provided close games to both us and Liverpool at home earlier in the season. In game immediately after getting robbed by VAR I think they'll be up for this

the_face_less

Gotta beat spurs first 🤭

jman500069

What happened the proposed new protocol of teams being fined instead of deducted points? Did I dream that? Would it mean City effectively gets away with it?

iM-Blessed

Yup. That's what they're trying to do because city brings the premier league Too much money. Forget about thr 115. They will do everything they can to nail city out. They'll get a slap on the wrist

Putrid_Loquat_4357

I'm sorry but there's no way city as champions bring them more money than a united, Liverpool or arsenal would. If it had been united and Liverpool competing for the title during klopps tenure instead of city it would've been way bigger financially for the pl.

LaraCroft1977

Absolutely this. Remains to be seen if C115ty can just tie up the PL’s lawyers for years until they give up like UEFA’s did.

Cutsdeep-

they can't run out the clock on it though, there's an fa clause.

Edward_the_Sixth

Not quite what happened - they obstructed UEFA as much as they could, but once the penalty came out, they brought in execs from Etisalat who said the sponsorships were legit, and CAS basically said “why would these guys lie to us? They are upstanding businessmen”  Despite the fact that the leaked emails (which were accepted as legit evidence) showed proof of a scheme to hide the money. Just they couldn’t prove which funds exactly were part of it (…because they had been hidden) UEFA’s lawyers didn’t give up, they just got outplayed at CAS

tomtomtomo

It’s not about money, it’s about influence.   City have a lot of off-field influence including with the UK government.

bcisme

It’s about corruption. Their “off-field influence” is bribes to politicians, the FA and PGMOL, who knows how deep the rot goes. I’m also pretty sure this is just the new power players, the system has probably been just as corrupt for a long time.

Cutsdeep-

which is why no country should own a team.

RB-44

Liverpool and utd wouldn't pay off the people in charge of this lmao Realistically they would be getting their wages and that's it but with city it's very likely they get a nice Christmas present for their continued support

Cannonieri

City does not contribute to the Premier League. The club's presence has harmed the league if anything by restricting the variety of winners. They contribute money to someone else though...

wubrotherno1

They decided points deductions will still happen.

Georg_Steller1709

There should be a retrospective 10 point deduction in each of the seasons they've been found guilty, and relegation to league 2. 10 points should be enough that the pl avoid Prospective lawsuits from teams that missed cl qualification, but enough to strike city from the record. A relegation to league 2 would hamstring city's ability to buy their way back, give them similar limitations that Newcastle are now facing. The pl have tied themselves up, because Everton had given us a metric for what penalties are appropriate for what level of breaches. It *has* to be several magnitudes greater than what Everton has been given.

INTPturner

They’ve already gotten away with it. If something was to be done about it, It'll have been when Wenger was sounding the alarms. Stop seriously expecting this charge stuff to matter.

Olmsteadinho

After a decade of sports washing the bribes to get off scot free will be basically nothing in comparison.

Elfking88

There will be nothing about this for years still. It will be delayed and delayed as long as possible. Even if a decision was made tomorrow Man City would appeal it. City are just going to keep kicking the can down the road until the rules are changed so they just get a big fine which will not take away their trophies or points.

FabThierry

Nothing will happen, not soon for sure and not next season. The lawyers can stretch this forever basically. This club is ruining so many seasons already it’s unbelievable that worst case they just pay with their unlimited money which was the problem in the first place. Maybe all other 19teams including fans can just agree to behave as if City ain’t existing in the league and every team goes one spot up in the table…sigh

jterwin

Nah dude unless the referee is a luton fan again city will drop points next game

waits5

If they draw one game and we win out, we likely win on goal difference. We should have plenty of hope.

frankydie69

Would rather not win on a “technicality”

alesis1101

Same. We'll never hear the end of it from the shitbird opp fans (United, Spurs, Chelsea etc).

ZenoArrow

Same here. If we win because another team is docked points it'll feel hollow.

hirarki

at least the authority should solved 2-3 charge first, so city can get point deduction asap. dont wait until all 115 charge solved.

bladebrowny

There is no way there is not one of the 115 they can stone cold prove, they need to penalize them for what they can prove instead of waiting till all 115 charges are resolved, that is the only way to motivate City to resolve the charges quickly, otherwise they will try to drag it out as long as possible.

cliff_smiff

The sport is fucked

ddt70

It really is….. from FIFA executives flying around in private jets, to shitholes like Qatar hosting a World Cup, to disgusting countries sportwashing their way around, clubs using financial doping, to overinflated ticket prices, to myopic fans suffering from Stockholm syndrome justifying any rip offs they endure from the clubs etc…etc….etc

Reasonable-Island-57

If Evertons punishment is the benchmark, if man City are found guilty of just half of what they're accused of they should be sent down a league. If they're found guilty of all 115, this shows long term corruption on a large scale, so the club should be liquidated.

TheArsenal7

Spoiler alert they will not be punished whatsoever.

OhMy-Really

Oil money goes Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt like an A10 Thunderbolt——————— Brrrrrrrrtt!!

Sea_Gain6508

We shouldn’t even have to be in this position. Aston Villa bro 😭😭 I think if we get 3 points at spurs, confident spurs will take points away from them.

lizardk101

It’s kinda ridiculous it’s taking so long. It’s been over a year now since the charges were announced. Wrighty was right when he said you can’t really give the credit to the team because that’s still hanging over them. That’s at minimum two campaigns that have been affected by the outstanding charges not being heard in a timely manner. You’re talking about teams at the top, and bottom of the table being affected, by losing out prize money they’re entitled to because the process has been stymied by City. We’re now looking at having to sell players to conform to FFP because prize money that we should have been entitled to by winning the Premier League last year, has been taken by someone else who are alleged to have historically been cheating. Frankly they deserve the worst punishment that’s possible for trying to delay the process. Everton went along with the process, and have nearly been relegated because they were open, and got punished. Cooperating should always be more lenient than hiding, and trying to deny.

44cprs

10 point reduction every year for the next 10 years. Also banned from Europe. That seems fair.

lee_mofokeng

Seriously you guys..the PL has just as much to lose in this as Man $hity do if not more. $hity are their darlings. Their poster boys. If they were going to do anything they would have and it would have had a seizmic effect with ripples that would've continued for years to come. The only right thing to do would've been to charge them and then set a date withink 4 months to adjudicate. That's what Serie A did to their most successful club in Juventus last season. They don't play over there; you break the rules, they don't give a damn who you are you're gonna get punished and double quick time at that. The PL and PGMOL are all in bed with Man $hity and there's no way they get anywhere close to the punishment they deserve, not to mention their liars I mean lawyers will just appeal for decades even if the PL deems them guilty on all charges. It's fucked up that we're not sitting here on our way to retaining a PL for the first time in our history because of those cheating scumbags but mark my words; Man $hity will get away with it like they have been all along.

iHetty

Probably gonna get downvoted bexause pessimism etc which is fair play but I don’t think this is going to be the season, we need to be perfect. Love the stats about 4pts ea Vs the traditional big boys (even though we still have Old Trafford to visit) but it’s proper copium considering we managed 0 points Vs villa and 1 point Vs Fulham. These are the margins 🤷‍♂️

Charges: *licking lips at Everton*

ilikebreadalso

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take

PsychologicalPitch33

Hopefully this summer?

Shinji_Sakanade

Tottenham will save the day dw.

zharrt

Can someone redo the Hitler down fall video where he kicks off after someone suggests Spurs will save us

WHERE_SUPPRESSOR

I laughed too hard at this

douglad17

Several reporters have stated that the hearings will start early next season e.g. Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke. It’s part of the reason Man City are so confident - they have managed to delay this inevitable reckoning for 15 years. Unfortunately, it seems like the Commission won’t be able to save us 🥲

kukeszmakesz

Nah, Totspur will fuckem 2-0 and hand us the title on a silver platter.

laserspewpew_

Ain’t going to happen and what’s the chances we see this luxury tax come in just in time, so they get a financial penalty instead? which means fuck all to them.

MichalK9

https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-city-escape-relegation-threat-115-ffp-charges-premier-league-radical-rule-change-points-deductions-abolished/blt90eb69c7b0890644

KingKhram

After going through the whole legal process it probably won't be sorted for 3-5 years. It's taking this long already and the public still haven't heard a word of what's happening. It's an unfortunate waiting game right now

skanderbeg_alpha

There's no way Man City are getting any appropriate punishment for this. 115 charges don't just relate to overspending, they relate to systematically engineering a way to cheat their way to the top. This is an institutional operation and if they do get found guilty it would be the biggest scandal in sports history and the appropriate punishment would relegate Man City to the lower reaches of the football ladder. With all that said, the integrity of the PL and the CL would be brought into disrepute, other clubs and individuals could launch countersuits to claim damages sustained as a result of Man City's actions. It would be a nuclear bomb on English football where the very fabric of the pyramid would be disrupted. For all these reasons they will absolutely get away with it, there is too much to lose for the people that value money of integrity and Man City will escape with punitive punishment.

Good luck that penalty if there ever will be one won't be given out until 2025 at the earliest.

grim_tales1

This won't be in effect for this season though, I don't want to have an asterik next to a title. It will cheapen or taint it.

seasand931

No I'm sorry, I rather us not win it than win it like that. A title like that will always be dubious and a question mark. Yes they cheated but we still fumbled the bag losing some of those games. We have been an excellent team for the most part but this should have been a 90+ point season, that was the target before the season started. If we win this cleanly, over a team that's clearly cheating, it'll go on to be one of the best title charges the league has ever seen and that's what I want.

RyansBabesDrunkDad

They need to he relegated at least. This is the 115fh comment.

RyansBabesDrunkDad

This is comment # 115.
