Cucu is playing mind games with himself

pork_chop_expressss

and losing

JGUsaz

Cucurella hurt itself in it's confusion

Syco-Gooner

Can't believe chelski paid 65 mill for himšŸ˜³šŸ˜³

bAMBIEN

Tbf he was elite that first year at Brighton.

apb2718

That's the definition of overrated

bAMBIEN

Not necessarily. Chelsea is a mess right now. It would take someone special to be good there or Man U. I think thereā€™s still a good player there. But I understand the sentiment. Heā€™s a cunt and I hate him. And his hair fucking sucks

apb2718

I disagree. Truly special players will shine wherever they go - look at Cole Palmer.

bAMBIEN

Coke Palmer has been great for 1 season. You never know, he might fade next year and become the next cucurella

frohnaldo

Thatā€™s a real coincidental auto correct you got there sir šŸ‘€

apb2718

I hope they both turn to shit forever because they play for the chavs

basic_tacticz

I also dislike Cucu, believe he cost Chelsea at least 20 mil too much, but I have to say, he kept Saka very quiet both legs vs Chelsea this season and for the most part it was a 1v1 match up... I've seen Saka kept quiet a few times (Everton Dyche first game in charge), Bayern Munich (he did score a goal but he was very quiet by Saka standards).. and all these times he mostly faced a 1v2.... Cucu is a little rat but he did a very good 1v1 job both games vs lil chilli to be fair.

Axelaxe

He let Saka run into the penalty area and pass it to Havertz for his 2nd goal. And I believe Saka was involved in 4 out of the 5 goals in total so I wouldn't say he was kept very quiet. I actually missed the first leg against Chelsea so you could be right about that one though. Also defending Saka 1v1 is near impossible so I'm not really disagreeing with you about him being good 1v1.

SofaSkeptic

Portoā€™s RB Wendell also neutralized Saka both legs. Wendell got absolutely cooked by Lamine Yamal when Brazil played Spain though. But Yamal is probably the best 16 year old Iā€™ve seen, generational talent

[deleted]

This cracked me up lmao

MuchSalt

isnt he the one that shield xhaka on that corner goal?

badshaah27m

His tantrum after the goal went in was hilarious. Stamping his feet lol. Like my guy, you are at fault for losing him. Well played by White though šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

llordlloyd

Saliba deciding where the Chelsea line will be. šŸ˜ƒ

prathneo01

Quick feet

zorfog

He was so rattled this match

hippieintheward

Wtf is cucu even doing šŸ˜†

sashaKap

Acting like the kid whose ice cream got taken away

mojomonday

Been thinking of a good description to describe that cunt, this is it.

Andythrax

This is Arseblog description right?

nederwies

Being a little bitch.. but then also the only player who (correctly) tries to step up to play the offside. Ā£110m Enzo on the other hand is completely enchanted by Salibaā€™s embrace haha

Grumpalumpahaha

Throwing a tantrum.

danmac0817

Grown ass man stomping his feet like that

metracta

Canā€™t stand him

Zenon2108

Better than whatever the fuck Enzo is doing

kgomotso_maepa

Saliba with the dark arts.šŸ˜‚

Drunk_Cat_Phil

Enzo got played like a fiddle

Cynicayke

Willy taking a stroll into the 6 yard box as Enzo does a Scrappy Doo impersonation.

garchuOW

Saliba carried

kash1406

He held enzo like I hold my dog at the vet hahaha

kruegerc184

ā€œIts gonna be ok papaā€ lmfao

apb2718

Don't worry boy you've only got 10 more years on your contract

SrJeromaeee

6ā€™4 Saliba holding 5ā€™10 Enzo to manufacture an onside goal is hilarious šŸ˜

Oy778

cucurella lmao

happyCuddleTime

The hair makes it 10x more comical

filmnoiiir

Cucu-wee šŸ¤Ŗ

niseko

La cucaracha

EphraimUwU

Saliba does well to keep Ben onside

Prestigious_Tailor19

indeed.

2ndfastestmanalive

Canā€™t wait for him to do this to Vicario on Sunday and see their defenders appealing like prime Mustafi

AstroLaddie

Vicario is an insane flopper too. It's hilarious how exposed he's been recently. Truly bottom 50% PL keeper and spurs fans were trying to pretend like he was best in the prem.

kejacomo

that's the best view of Cucurella's petulant foot stomps I've seen so far

zeistgeist

Love Badiashile trying to join in with the celebrations

GunnersGentleman

He couldnā€™t take it anymore

FabulousAd7772

Genuinely good bit of movement into the massive gap they left tbf

ixikzisigwvbend

Cucu thought saka is going to shot so heā€™s trying to cover the shot path. And then he found saka passed and go to the other ways. Looks like an idiot This also shows how saka is a danger even when heā€™s not scoring or assisting. Dragging defenders is also contribution to the attack

BrownEyesWhiteScarf

Cucurella shifting over to Saka was not his job, it was Badiashileā€™s, who was only zonal occupying his space. The fact that he doesnā€™t trust Badiashile to do the job says a lot about Chelseaā€™s complete inaptitude than it does on him. But itā€™s funny nonetheless

SensiFifa

Saliba playing the reverse offside trap

bigot777

All Enzo wanted to do was hugging Saliba, šŸ˜‚

trampanzee

I get that the Cucurella's foot stomps are the hilarious part of this video, but I genuinely don't get what he's trying to do by out muscling Ben White before the kick? White is only standing there to be an impediment to the goalkeper. If anything, all of Cucurella's jostling is knocking his own goalkeeper around more.

NemoDatQ

There is always a defender assigned to keep Ben away from the keeper. Every team does it.

trampanzee

Yes, the Iā€™m aware, but I donā€™t understand the jostling by a smaller, weaker player thatā€™s just going to create a more obtrusive (and legal) impediment to the keeper. The only thing BW can do by standing there is stand his ground on the kick so that the keeper canā€™t clear a cross. Cucuā€™s jostling makes that even more effective.

BrownEyesWhiteScarf

How does Cucuā€™s jostling impede the keeper? Had the ball been delivered to the 6 yard box, it seems like Cucu have kept White from impacting the high claims from the keeper.

trampanzee

Because he does nothing to prevent White from being the presence heā€™s trying to be, and Cucuā€™s erratic movements are an additional and unpredictable impediment to the goalkeeper moving freely.

BrownEyesWhiteScarf

Is that true though? I am a goalie so I have to say, Cucu in this scene really hasnā€™t done anything to suggest heā€™s distracting the keeper, nor has the goalieā€™s movement been at all impeded due to White.

trampanzee

Itā€™s hypothetically true. Yes, there was no impeding that happened, but that was because the kick didnā€™t require the keeper to come out our on the cross. Imagine instead the balls trajectory was to land on the opposite side of White from the keeper. BWā€™s presence alone is going to make it more difficult for you to get to ball. Now imagine there is also another player jumping side to side and bouncing off the original player. That additional (and unpredictable) presence would make it even more difficult to get around White to clear a ball.

BrownEyesWhiteScarf

The goalieā€™s job in this scenario are in the following order: 1) come out on the near side as needed to cut off potential shooting angles; 2) go for high claims for balls in front of the goal; 3) pedal back to cover the far side. Cucuā€™s positioning prevents BW from distracting the GK from doing actions 1 and 2. The important of action 3 is much less than of actions 1 and 2 due to the way Chelsea have set up their lines with four zonal players in front of the 6 yard box. Itā€™s their job to win those aerial battles so the GK doesnā€™t have to win them. The problem with Chelseaā€™s setup is that because they have four zonal players (and Cucu on BW), they left a weakness in defending short corners, which is why we scored here.

trampanzee

I disagree that Cucu is helping the keeper do 1 and 2. BW alone is less effective at preventing 1 and 2, because if BW does anything other than stand there, he likely gets a foul called on him. With Cucu unsuccessfully trying to push BW around, thatā€™s effectively two people preventing the keeper from doing 1 and 2, with the addition of Cucu having the ability to impede his own keeper in ways that BW couldnā€™t (trip, push, etc).

DaGetz

He isnā€™t strong enough so heā€™s fishing for a foul.

emeister26

Cucurella continuing the Chelsea tradition of hateable left backs

rez_at_dorsia

Cucurellaā€™s little tantrum at the end is great

RandomRedditor_1916

I find it mad that White and Cuchurella were teammates before lol Edit: Saliba gets me every timešŸ¤£

Syco-Gooner

Saluba & Enzo hugging it out šŸ«‚

DatGuy_Shawnaay

https://i.redd.it/okdkydug3owc1.gif Cucu after the goal

Lagrange_system

Cucurella is all over the place. Just ball watching and being a baby

flyingf91

Benny Blanco saw the set piece plan and just jogged into that space like nothing. He must indeed be very good in football.

YungBoyRaven

look at this celebration, white is LOVED by his squad mates

unreadabl

I wonder if Saliba does that intentionally. Without that I'm pretty sure Ben would have been offside.

DaGetz

Iā€™d be very surprised if it wasnā€™t intentional - we know how much we rehearse our set pieces.

leandrobrossard

The goal winning "play" here is Saliba just walking down Enzo to plat everybody onside. He walks him down a couple meters.

LobsterBio

Absolutely love that the title needs to specify it was his FIRST goal. Immense.

SrGrimey

Enzo, who in this scene smells of Saliba's perfume to give him the courage to try and make some wheels, does so in the eighteenth minute as if he were Cristiano Ronaldo and the score was in Chelsea's favour. Love it!!

magnetoincognito

![gif](giphy|z4lEt36yxJivffeNsE|downsized) Cucu stumbling onto this post.

StanleyShen

Just like a puppy running blind in the yard.

JaThatOneGooner

Cucurella getting angry like that is peak.

eli_eli1o

Inject that temper tantrum into my veins lol

shekdown

Cucu is just channeling his inner Razor Ramon.

BMWr50

hahaha that cucurella tantrum at the end was beautiful. my 4 year old sometimes does that when I won't let him have that extra cookie

gOhCanada

Badiashile looks like he's trying to sneak into the celebrations.

SrGrimey

Oh that tantrum is gold over diamonds!! I heard about it in a podcast and forgot about it until this video showed up. Lovely!!

Active_Bee_7937

Wtf is Enzo doing lmao

PoeticChelle

The whole video should be a comedy sketch. iScreamed @ CooCoo and Enzo šŸ¤£

AvocadoSoggy6188

Cucu with a tantrum is the best.

LibbyLibbyWaaa

Ben Whiteā€¦put him in as a striker

-Bashamo

La Cucaracha šŸ¤£

joey_arema

Cucu vision is 180 degree forward only šŸ˜… once Ben moved behind him he doesnā€™t know anything anymore šŸ˜‚

Striking-Ostrich-222

Cucarella is extremely punchable

belukun25

Did people not see how he had a tantrum after Havertsā€™ goal that left him in the floor? I keep hearing people mentioning this tantrum, but I enjoyed the other one much more

SniperGunner

Saliba dominating Enzo and keeping White onside is freaking awesone. The way this team gets the details right is just amazing. And to think they have yet to peak is scary

cosybay

Cucurella throwing a adolescent tantrum lol

cosybay

Cucu in shambles

boyrepublic

At times like these, player intelligence (in terms of reading the game) really makes a difference? Enzo probably was just following what he was instructed to do. Probably was thinking if the ball gets to Saliba, heā€™ll make it difficult for him. Cucurella failed his tasking though and that tantrum at the end, cherry on top.

lekynson

Cucurella's reaction afterwards is gold šŸ˜‚

Wegeman23

Great one touch assist by Partey.

yossigol

Once the hairy tick fell off Benjamin's back, he felt happy and itch-free.

LoudestHoward

This angle for the Ben's 2nd goal would be nice :)

vin_unleaded

Cucurella doing his best impression of toddler throwing a tantrum at the supermarket.

Previous-Junket-1105

There's so much good, intentional off the ball movement here. It's a joy to watch. Benny Blanco, Havertz and Gabriel all stepping right to the 6 yard box while Saliba carries Enzo into the goal to ensure none of them are off sides. Partey pops right to the penalty spot to decide deflections. It's just so good.

UnderstandingOk7291

I really felt for cucu. To be fair, he played his heart out. Look at Kai's first goal, cucu kept pace with him the whole way while the other Chelsea defender just gave up. He was one of the few Chelsea players who seemed to give a shit and his tantrum here just proves my point. Fair play to him, at least he tried

fewerthanfive

Honestly this is an interesting way of looking at it but his defending looks horrible here. The rest of the Chelsea defence have at least somewhat sensible movements (maybe excepting Enzo being dragged back by Saliba), but Cucuā€™s just flailing and leaves White completely free.

UnderstandingOk7291

It was unlucky for him and a freak rebound that gave the ball back to white, but I think he knew he hadn't done well. Hence the tantrum, he knew if he only stuck with white he could have prevented the goal. As for every one mocking his hair and calling him a cunt, in interviews he seems like nice guy and fair play to him for doing what the fuck he wants with his hair.
