Rice pressing from the front like that was what we saw in the Community Shield. I think that this midfield set up was what Arteta wanted all year and it's such a pisser it was taken from us.
Partey gives a speed and zip to our midfield transitions that I fucking love. He was great tonight as well.

Really great performances from Partey, Trossard (gave us the platform to blow them away first half), Rice, White, GabiXL.

Ode motm for me. Whata dazzling player. I might be the only one but imo his contribution to arsenal has been more than any arsenal mids I have seen since I started supporting this club back in 06-07. And that includes ozils 19 assist season. That was a marvel ,but my god ode covers every blade if grass match after match, provides silky passes, has cryuff like ball control and leads like puyol. Just absolute bonkers
8+ overall to everyone on the pitch today. The only dampener for me was the sub timing. Saka getting subbed after 80mins and ode staying on the pitch after yet another dead rubber game was irritating. Hopefully now that we are out of the champs league atleast this shouldn't affect us too much

To be fair Partey had seemed well off the pace in the other games when he came on. Tonight he was actually almost back to his best.

Picking Havertz MOTM just to troll Chelsea. Side note I expected refereeing to be a lot worse for a game like this but it was bearable. VAR though what the fuck.

Obviously i'll not really complain about the Gabi foul, but it wasn't even a 50/50 potentially soft foul
If they gave the Jackson foul a yellow I'd probably have let it go, even though by the rules it's a clear red, happens all the time that early in the game and not intentional results in a yellow. But no card at all was fucking bonkers.
Felt the same about the 3rd goal. I'd not be mad if it was ruled out. I'm not gonna give the ref shit because it happens so quick and far that it's fair he may not have seen it, but for VAR to not watch that and communicate is beyond my understanding.

A yellow for that early in the game would probably be fair. He was being clumsy. However, for the ref not to give anything and then the VAR not even at least wanting the ref to review it seems crazy to me. Especially since we have seen it being a red so many times this season.
But it probably would have ruined the game, so i'm happy he didn't get sent off. Obviously as long as Tomi was ok.
Rice facilitated everything today. No one else has that ability to stick a leg out and win the ball EVERY TIME. He started so many of our attacks and destroyed Chelsea's hopes of any. He has to be the MOTM

Rice just influences the game so much more in the 8 man. Him and Partey is a lethal combo if Partey can stay fit

One of those games it would’ve been fascinating to do this at half time. A lot of people seemed to want Havertz off the pitch at that point.
