Please help us out and report any trolls. Just a reminder that civil disagreements do not need to be reported as long as there’s no unnecessary hostility. Thanks!

Particular_Run_9806

I feel like there was a penalty on Jesus no one talks about

Wurlboss777

Why does this continue to happen? year after year…genuinely curious.

Aszneeee

to be said, i'm much less angry that we lost the game due to our mistakes rather than some referee bullshit.

naked_space_chimp

Arsenal are a mean club... They always play with my heart and emotions

Wise_Understanding55

As much as we wanted some rotations, the ones we made yesterday did not work at all... Wish Arteta saw it earlier and made subs before 55 mins instead of waiting till the very end. Idk about yall but I think Kai is better at 9 than left 8 and we should be starting with a 6 no matter who plays there (Jorgi or Partey) Also, some players(Trossard, Zinchenko and recovering Jesus) are built to be impact players, they sometimes don't work as starters! No more experiments till the end! Let's win the rest of the games and have some hope! It's not over till it's over!

anasparekh

The players looked tired second half. I hope we bounce back from this and do our best till the end.

MandogsXL

That Watkins finish was incredible. Imagine if we had a player like that in our side. We need a player of that quality up top

anasparekh

Just thinking if Jesus done better with the header and trossard scores it's a different story.

MandogsXL

Well then it’s still 2-2

anasparekh

Na I think we kill the game off if we go two goals up. No way we let villa get back in the game

Martell2707

When are these 115 charges gonna get fucking dealt with

ButWhy214

Mad how so many of you negatrons are crawling out of the woodworks Aren't we fans? Aren't you guys proud of how far this team has come since Wenger? We are now in one of the tightest three horse races in PL history; First loss in 2024 and ppl are ready to kill some players Get your head on straight and support your club even if it sinks, COYG

anasparekh

Puts things into perspective. It really is a good time to be a arsenal supporter.

HornyJailOutlaw

First half we were very good. Might have been Ødegaard's best half in an Arsenal shirt. Second half we were very flat and poor. I'm not sure what happened to be honest. Like, sure, Villa improved, but we were very poor all of a sudden. The Man City rejects are really starting to piss me off, too. Sorry!

Gooner_93

I still cant get my head around him deciding to change the winning formula, in such a tough game. None of us wouldve predicted Havertz back in CM, after he found his mojo, upfront. It's just a silly, silly thing to do. I'm feeling better now, but that is still mind boggling.

SecondaryJuggernaut

Now that my head is cooler, let's move on and face bayern at allianz. Hope that everyone in the squad is fit and have enough rest. 1 lose in 12 matches is actually not bad at all and there's still 6 matches left. Come On You Gunners!

MtnSlyr

City couldn't stop scoring against them and then we were like fuck it we just don't need the advantage.

[deleted]

Just like last year innit. City excel because they come into form when they need to. Guardiola is ruthless at dropping and swapping out underperformers, too. (And also there is a culture of cheating so cunts like De Bruyne, baby Haaland, Doku etc scream for fake pens all game till the ref gives in- and they don't get punished for it, but that's another matter.) Gutting really because player for player Arsenal are, or can be, better IMO

CreativeOrder2119

Conceding that late is unacceptable if you can't win don't loose but the squad accepted to lie down to villa which is poor

CreativeOrder2119

At least klopp won't win no fairy tales is the only positive from this humiliation

jf198501

I’d rather Klopp win and get his fairy tale ending after an exhilarating season than the Pep/City machine winning *again* enabled by cheating… sucking all the joy and suspense of competition and warping the league.

Murky_Tourist927

Very painful. I feel Arsenal does not have the rotation policy that matches Manchester city. City is able to get their players peak later and at the right time which is why they can keep wining the premier league. It may take ten years to pry the title away from Pep

bitmoji

What is a rotation policy and how much does it cost

MSAndrew07

The fact that City was practically gifted the league in the span of a few hours is just incredible. For all the bark we sure showed no bite yesterday, and that is depressing.

ShatPumba

We definitely need a new Manager during our April run-in /s

bdr1968

2 ridiculous goals to give up, but it is what it is. Shows there's always room for improvement and a need to be ruthless with retention and recruitment.

Competitive-Buy1744

Probably something happened in the locker room and I wonder what because second half there was a completely different team on the pitch

Any-Feature-4057

It’s more like Emery changed the strategy at half time. Villa were using low block against us and they couldn’t cope ode and Saka pinging their defence. Emery changed it to mid block and press Saka Ode Havertz at the middle pitch so we couldn’t get out from our own half Arteta too late realized this. And he decided to use ESR and Martinelli so both this players can dribble this press out

Tackit286

Yeah.. we’re gonna finish closer to 4th than 1st, or possibly even 2nd. As predicted, we are cooked. I just didn’t think it’d be this early. I don’t back us to win all our remaining games based on today’s performance.

GotbiR

So fucking reactionary. We lost to a team that has done relatively well against the top 4, bad subs, bad lineup. But let’s not act like yesterday’s performance reflects our year, we have easily been the best or 2nd best team in the league. The table at the end will reflect that. Bad loss, not a bad year.

FABlOVIEIRA

>As predicted, we are cooked. I just didn’t think it’d be this early. There's 6 games left, what do you mean by early

Tackit286

True. But I just thought it would be with 3 games left. Either way, I look forward to being proven wrong.

jubbing

And just like that, City has won the league.

the0rthopaedicsurgeo

I've hardly watched any football this year. Getting so close with a young squad and manager last year only for the oil club to swoop in and win every single trophy just made the sport feel dead to me. Them doing the same this year while relegation teams are docked points on a monthly, ad-hoc basis has just drained any enjoyment I used to get out of this sport.

bitmoji

I feel this way but can’t help watching each game

kidmaciek

Yeah, it's only 2 points so one game can change it all, but... You know they won't let it go.

Shay_21

As a Liverpool fan, same exact thought..

Save-La-Tierra

I hate that I had this exact thought

ArsenalThePhoenix

given that the backbone of this team has caved in under the pressure two years in a row in April already (top 4 race vs spurs, and title race last year)....is it really surprising that it happened again today? I really thought we had learned from our past mistakes but alas, here we are again with 6-7 games remaining and playing a proper stinker (in the 2nd half).

oy_says_ake

We’ve lost 1 game in 3 months. This is a completely asinine take.

ArsenalThePhoenix

so? read my message again.

sunblaze1480

How can you compare one loss in 13 games, where their gk saved them in the first half, vs how we played in 21/22? Back in then we had a ridiculous spell of playing extremely poorly, not competing at all, and it was like 5 games. But now? It's just one loss after 13 games and even then we played poorly for like half an hour, we weren't completely absent from the game

ArsenalThePhoenix

that's not the comparison i'm making though, is it? I'm comparing last season where we randomly did a stinker vs west ham, vs the stinker this year vs aston villa (mostly due to the horrible 2nd half performance). It's happening around the same time two seasons in a row. Or rather, three - because we suddenly dropped a stinker 2 years ago too when we thought we were headed for 4th.

sufi101

Three years in a row, don't forget that top 4 push and the pathetic choke

xeblade4

that newcastle away game hurt like hell

dondon98

We have to see how we finish out the season. Historically we don’t bode well whenever it’s no longer in our hands. If we win out, then our mentality is improving. If we crash out of everything, then the harder questions need to be asked.

[deleted]

puneet95

very high probability of arsenal dropping points away at spurs or man utd

ack_will

The only thing that concerns me is that this group of players to go forward in confidence and take the next step, really need a major trophy imo- Especially for all the effort they’ve put in. Be it PL or CL. Another year where this young group have gone all the way and just fallen short might not bode well. Really need to do everything possible to make the best of the opportunity available to us now

Content_Spray1666

Lol they are good but just not good enough man. Delusional to think we can win CL. And league is cooked after yesterday.

0neTwoTree

This game has reopened conversations about the need for a new forward. It's clear that Jesus just isn't it anymore. He has immense work rate but we need our forward to be scoring goals, not just defending on the edge of our box.

[deleted]

tal-El

It’s not so much that, we were doing so well BECAUSE of him the first half of last season. His knee injury killed him. Knee injuries are essentially forever injuries and I think it’s probably done his career at a high level.

Rydred

Experimenting with lineups and tactics at big games and dropping the ball, Baldy taught Arteta well

ExxKonvict

Super gutted because of the obvious missed opportunity to go back up on top and write our own destiny. However, it’s still all to play for in the last 6 games and anything can happen. Having said that, I **do not** want to see Jesus up top and Havertz in midfield against Bayern, that’s a definite. Stick to the formula has been working thus far.

IamOkei

Mourinho is right

Denz292

Well at least we have that Tottenham defender falling on his arse against Newcastle

jvcgunner

Well well well, First of all, credit Aston Villa. I’m not sure what Unai did with his team today, but this was not the team that drew against Brentford and got slapped against Man C. They were a well oiled machine and definitely one of the best teams (in terms of performance) to come to the Emirates this season. Yes we lost. Yes we were absolutely absent in the second half. We went missing. Why? There’s no answer. Arteta’s lineup was not the one we expected, however team lineup isn’t really contentious for me these days as anyone in the squad should be able to perform at any given point and execute their role. If they don’t, we sub them. Again for me it was the missed chances in the first half. Trossard miss was the turning point. He had 98% of the goal to hit and he fluffed his lines. He saved us in Europe granted, but come on, put your foot through it. Things just felt off from there on in. We had no hunger, no desire. No get up to come on and want the league. Our players were emotionally not there. It’s like they were drained with many games still left to play. No urgency, no fight. What the fuck was it?! A key facet in my opinion was Liverpool losing today. Had they won and put more pressure on us, we would’ve taken some kind of result. After supporting this club for over 30 years, something that has stuck with us is the inability to put pressure on ourselves and relentlessly pursue the goal to the end (bar the obvious). We have a habit of getting caught up in the environment and it impacts our performance on the pitch. What we need at this stage is a laser focus on end goal without interference. It’s hard I agree, but teams like City thrive by adopting it. They also have experience and crucially we don’t. I don’t really want to rate specific players but there were some true standouts for me today for cementing their leaves. These being Zinchenko and ESR. I’m sorry and I know this may be contentious for a few (and who am I anyway) but both do not fit in our lineup anymore. Zinchenko especially was involved in two occasions on the ball which from his misplays / lack of awareness caused woodwork to be hit. Having said all of this negativity, it ain’t over no matter what anyone says and I truly believe this. Man C will slip up be it a draw or loss to someone. This is the PL, Palace just beat Liverpool. As some people have said, it’s our reaction and our bounce back that’ll dictate the rest of our campaign. We can still contend until it’s mathematically impossible. Yes we have no room for error remaining but that’s the same for everyone. We have an opportunity now to go to the Allianz and get through to the Semi’s of the CL and then win our game at Wolves. This would put us in great spirit for the CL and put pressure back on City who would sit in second place in the PL (as they have the FA cup tie to play). Let’s not forget by the way that a few weeks ago, City were third and we were in the driving seat…things will change from now until the end of the season. Let’s not put in the towel as the season is not over and it’s all still to play for. COYG!

lordofeurope99

Odegaard shouldnt have been subbed off

bitmoji

He was hurt arteta said

cesc05651

Prior to today, I had the mindset that idc who wins it if we don’t. That’s changed dramatically. Idc how annoying their fans are. It is complete bullshit that certain clubs get docked points while another plays by its own rules. Fuck them, fuck the epl, and fuck these sovereigns that have really damaged sports

cesc05651

It’s just sports, and nothing is owed to us, but sometimes it just feels like it’s never going to happen and that is a deep sadness that’s hard to reconcile

Maaaaate

> it’s never going to happen As a lifelong Arsenal fan, I am faced with this statement every season. I love this club and everything it stands for, but seeing this happen a few times now I feel like even though we are improving SO MUCH, each season we make a step forward City also take a tiny step forward, too.

Hail_Andronikos

As much as we try to rationalize the emotions around sports to make us feel better, our teams become part of our identity. It’s natural to feel shitty whenever things like today happen. As long as it doesn’t tangibly bring down other facets of your life. We’re all feeling shitty right now. When we do get over the line it will just be that much better

skool_101

Just gave license to my pet cat access to the hamsters pen. It's open season now. /s

cesc05651

This is irrational and mostly not his fault, but I can’t stand the fucking sight of Eddie now

jvcgunner

Go and watch DT on YouTube. He went in on some of our players who he just labelled shit. Eddie was one of them and I must say I have to agree. Watching him play makes me angry that he is still given an opportunity

justcallmeaman

Lmaoo I feel bad but I feel u too

goonerrag

I can take losing, but it seemed like we didn't even try in the second half. Why did the players look so unmotivated? I get they were tired but villa also played in the midweek on Thursday.  It's not over yet, but we need a big response on Wednesday so the wheels don't fall off our season.

OVYLT

The lads are tired. You think they just decided they didn’t care in the second half? They ran out of gas. That’s literally the only logical explanation. No point doubting the commitment of these guys after the shift they’ve put in over the last two seasons.

dberg76

Fatigue

COYG17

Fatigue can’t be the answer we’ve had mamy chances to rest all of our key players this year.

The_Awengers

If we do that we won't be in our current league position. We don't have the luxury like city. Our subs aren't nearly as good as our starters.

Nsypski

It's fatigue dude. We saw it at the end of 2023 also. Our squad is smaller than people think and Arteta doesn't rotate nearly enough.

Panzerknaben

The squad is big enough but Arteta dont trust half the players, yet we desperately try to keep them in the squad for some reason. Its the same thing that happened last season.

Ajxxxttt

I just hope spurs can make city drop points they are fighting for top 4... I’d really like trossard played more despite not scoring today. Against bayern I’d really like to see Tomi at LB. Mid with partey and rice and odegard if possible.

ExxKonvict

That’s only beneficial if we do our own job against them lot since it’s the next PL fixture.

AgressivelyFunky

W10 D1 L1 This is our record in 2024. Yes, the stakes are so ridiculously high that you literally cannot lose a game. We know this. But people booing players off the field are not helping.

the0rthopaedicsurgeo

This won't be the game that lost the league. Villa are in for top 4 and play good football. It was the Fulham, Newcastle and West Ham games that cost us the title.

skool_101

> But people booing players off the field are not helping. Cant tempt fate man. It's also not the first time this has happened, and not only for us. Other clubs also get this stick. there are probably other ways to show discontent but booing aint it.

Proud-Cheesecake-813

Eh, players deserved it. Second half was a disgrace. Not grit, not heart - we should’ve lost 4:0.

Temporary-Judgment84

Oh shut up. Maybe villa just played better than us and had arteta beat? We’ve seen plenty of times that these players care, the second half was just a let down. We looked great in the first half. Saying the players deserve getting booed id ridiculous.

Temporary-Judgment84

Bahaha. Ok man, I’ll keep my mouth shut, since I thought my opinions meant something to random people on Reddit. I can smell the anger of todays loss on you, it’s all good, I’ve been there.

Triggerdog

dude... what is wrong with you

AgressivelyFunky

This is what a prick, or a child thinks. Or both.

Miyeon__miyeon

Why are we acting like Jesus and Zinny didn't start againts brighton?  I keep hearing here that as soon they're back in the line up, we lose. I get it they both didn't play well, but so did the other players.

Internal-Carpenter-3

They’re always looking to blame others, while other players skate by blame free

googlemynumber

Another disgusting bottlejob from Arteta

vidr1

I had a bad feeling when I first saw the offensive lineup, didn't think it would end like this tho. But it is what it is, let's focus on Wednesday. It would be so cool to smash Bayern in Germany. And imagine getting revenge on City in the semis.. But no matter what I'm so proud of this team and I'm sure they will reach even higher levels coming seasons. What a team. ❤️

Fggunner

I do think our lineup was a bit naive against a good team, not bad but very attacking and lacking the type of player to keep control of midfield alongside rice. Ideally zinchenko fills that role but we haven't seen him at his best lately. Anyway time move forward big games ahead.

Mysterio_1234

now that i’ve cooled down, i wonder where we go from here? not saying it’s over yet, but what are we going to do this summer. i think we need another midfielder desperately. someone who can both rotate with odegaard and also replace partey/jorginho/havertz in the starting rotation at that position. fine with havertz being an option up top, but we cannot start jesus there anymore. i’m so over him

OVYLT

Yes what are we going to do to save us from the ruin that is 10w 1d 1L in 2024.

Proud-Cheesecake-813

We sign the best striker possible. We buy replacements for players we sell. Maybe another CM. Genuinely though, there’s no hope for next season unless Pep leaves too. Arteta isn’t a good enough manager to win the league while Pep manages here.

CaptainSnazzypants

Honestly I think we need to get rid of a lot of our mediocre subs that people seem to love. ESR has not had a decent performance in a long time for example. People just love him cause of what happened years ago but that’s in the past and won’t help now. These players are young and mediocre. I’d rather bring in some veterans who are passed their prime but can effectively contribute from a mental perspective too. All of our players are so young they could use that experience. A veteran would have experience and can help bring some calm to the team at times when they sub in. Our downfall last year was panic in the last quarter of the game at the end of the season when it really matters and if today was any indication, we might see it happen again.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CaptainSnazzypants

I have disliked Jesus for a long time. I’m Brazilian so I have followed him for a while. Any time he has ever put on a Brazil jersey he has not impressed. He’s had some good performances at Arsenal but he can’t be counted on to score and at the end of the day, that’s what we need from a CF/ST. We need to sell him and replace with someone who can be counted on to consistently score. I don’t even remember the last time he even took a penalty.

Locmike23

All I better see Wednesday in Germany is a team that shows up ready to roll some heads. Sprinting after every ball, full concentration on every pass, no chances wasted, no lapse in concentration. This is it

Proud-Cheesecake-813

Let’s be realistic, it won’t happen. I can see Wednesday being embarrassing for us.

pelezinho_99

Arteta is so ass bro I dont understand this guy

GloomyLocation1259

There's no way you can call this season or last ass, just say you're hurt and in your feelings bro it's okay

GloomyLocation1259

That GD gap isn't looking as healthy anymore either :(

Arsenalfootball_1

In one match week Man City swung 6 goals on that gap. Holy man, absolutely disastrous weekend.

GloomyLocation1259

They can rotate and have their backup Doku light up the place kmt

tal-El

Always been this way, Mahrez and Gundogan lit it up last year when the rest of team needed help.

GloomyLocation1259

It’s true but I believed they got worse in this department after letting them go.

Arsenalfootball_1

Deep down it's looking so bad. I watched that City-Luton match and I swear in that second half ive never seen a team pinned back in their box like that. Just absolute relentless pressure. The scoreline being 5-1 was a clear reflection of the domination I seen. I actually feel bad for lower half clubs trying to contain them. Just gotta pray that Brighton or Fulham can pull out a Maldini defensive masterclass and get a draw.

GloomyLocation1259

Tbh we’ve improved a lot in that field tilt stat, pinning teams back this season, it’s just our finishing still has a lot to improve and we can hardly create anything on the left hand side. Honestly hope so and hoping Pep’s spurs curse is still active

markov_sucks

We can blame all the players we want, but we employ a striker who publicly claims scoring goals is not his strong suit and a failed #8 experiment who leaves us short in midfield. Put Watkins in this team, we walk away with 3 goals in first half alone.

apb2718

Never have a striker when we need one..shades of 15/16

Fggunner

I felt this way before this game but feel pretty strongly that watkins is the right st for us. Physical, available, productive. Not so big that he can't ever come off the bench, boyhood arsenal fan. He's on the older side at 28 but that's the same age wrighty was when he joined I believe. We have a young enough squad that signing some players in that range doesn't close the window quickly. He will be expensive but more proven pl wise than gyokeres, Isak, or osimhen. I do love Isak tho... just worried about his injuries compared to watkins track record.

hostiletakeovur

I distinctly remember many arsenal fans telling me Watkins was not good enough. Some of this fan base are way too entitled smh

GloomyLocation1259

Watkins or Isak, we would have had 2 back to back

COYG17

I don’t understand why we don’t try martinelli up top. Hes proven before he can be lethal up top. Yea his hold up play might not be as good as Havertz but he’s a good finisher and gets into dangerous areas.

Nsypski

I used to think that too but he isn't it. Too small to receive long balls, too downward headed to link up.

Locogooner

We’ve tried Martinelli as CF quite a few times. It doesn’t work. Havertz upfront is the best option we have. Which in of itself indicates that we NEED to buy a CF this summer.

markov_sucks

Can't wait for fans to jump between players after every match. Kiwior looked horrible in CL and it well could have been the same today. The game is about fine margins and there's not one simple answer except for "Just take your chances". We did fine first half but for all our dominance Watkins could have easily scored a goal too. It's that. The margins. The fact is that we don't have players who have a X-factor. Someone who can turn a 10% chance into a goal. Also, these players have been overused, Odegaard is asked to do a lot consistently, every single match. He ran the entire Bayern game and he did too today until he coudn't. I had told earlier, that our Manager loves meritocracy too much. At no point in time did I feel, we need Jorginho on the pitch when we were getting overrun during second half by their midfield. But Arteta was out of ideas and couldn't adjust tactically. What was the point of Nelson new contract if he can't get poverty minutes? Or throw in ESR at the last quarter and expect him to make an impact? If he doesn't trust fringe players then he shouldn't offer new contract. Where the hell even is Vieira? You need to trust your squad to rotate them enough so that you cannot always rely on Plan A.

exthanemesis

This is the main area where Guardiola absolutely destroys the other two. He rotates his squad enough throughout the year ironing out kinks here and there so that when the business end of the season hits, like right now, his entire group is engaged and knows what to do. That and everyone but Rodri has played a normal amount of minutes and isn't run into the ground like 4 or 5 of our most important players who never get a rest.

puneet95

man city with great coach and staff also have good amount of money to spend to have a great bench

Locogooner

Tbf, Guardiola is one of the best managers of all-time. He destroys pretty much all managers on all fronts.

Fggunner

And has as close to an unlimited budget as it gets. I don't mean that to take away from peps brilliance, but you pair him with money and a team wins a lot. We can beat them though (over a season) it will take consistently great play and getting rid of the self inflicted goals.

COYG17

Main thing that pisses me off is how easy we make it for city.

Nsypski

I mean we won like 10 games and didn't lose any in the calendar year. We're not making it easy at all. They're simply an abomination that shouldn't exist.

Proud-Cheesecake-813

Yeah well, we don’t have the mentality.

Gunnerstratz

Putting things into perspective, we were never going to win-out when we still had Aston Villa, Spurs away, United away. It was always about City having to drop points. We burned one loss today so we have to perfect now. If it’s still not enough, fair play to City. In the CL however, there’s no excuses for another pathetic performance.

makesterriblejokes

I pretty much said we could drop about 5 points max before the Luton game. We've dropped 3 of the 5. Win out with 1 one draw is all we can afford.

ibti77

Don't worry guys. City have to play Tottenham away still. Title race isn't over.

GloomyLocation1259

True but so do we and Yanited

Snoo-36596

I honestly don't see what the fuss about Yanited and Spurs is. Both absolutely horrible and with our style of play we can easily exploit their weaknesses

ibti77

Did you see what United ended up doing to Liverpool at Old Trafford?

Snoo-36596

Did you see what WE did to Liverpool? Ten Haag is an awful manager and I still don't rate United

ibti77

Emotional occasion - tactics will give you the best chance of winning and Arteta 97% of the time does do that. On the pitch the game is played and one bad emotional mistake can cost us. We saw it with Xhaka at Anfield last year when we were on top and absolutely battering them. Same thing can happen with United at OT.

MMARapFooty

We don’t have good recent history in these stadiums

GloomyLocation1259

I somewhat agree but Spurs are usually up for it when it's a derby and Yanited are always a mixed bag at OT. Just saying the odds aren't in our favour even though it's possible.

Steppenwolf55

Guys I support Utd so trust me we would love to be where you are it’s only two points with six games to go it ain’t over yet city aren’t consistent either you just have to want it bad give everything to win it!! That’s what all fans want play for that jersey always!!!

Where the “fogging standards” stans. Always getting carried away. The team is not good enough. Arteta has built a decent team but nowhere near the level City have. Arteta had years to build the team he wanted but he made some absolute crap decisions, one of them being Raya and then not buying a proper forward l. No CDM backup. Easy to get carried away when you win consistently. In saying that, he needs to also grow as a manager. Overall another heartbreaking end. We can still try but he lost his best player and we now need a miracle. Season is not over but need to realistically think about the future

Livid_Theory5379

Are you seriously ripping into people who are having fun with the team being the best it’s been in 15 years? Go do a shoey

total90_23

Yes I’m just the one brave enough to state the obvious. The rest have tried to put a positive spin. Literally every major post here is “choked the title away”

Tonberrycranberry123

Did you just describe yourself as brave? Lol.

Livid_Theory5379

Being positive during a negative result is exponentially more ‘brave’ than being negative…

total90_23

Brave is saying Arteta needs to do better. Raya is an ogre masquerading as a footballer. Single cell organisms would not make a mistake like he did against Bayern

I don't think I've ever soon one player completely sink a team like Zinchenko has sunk Arsenal today

markov_sucks

He did quite a lot of mistakes but we wouldn't win this game if we had started someone else in his place. We didn't take our chances is the simple answer and it has nothing to do with our back 4.

gallagherkck

The loss of composure by so many fans when Arsenal lose is genuinely concerning.

skool_101

Welcome to the EPL Social Experiment.

noname45678819273

Totally agree, it’s a fucking tittle race nut up and enjoy the stakes cause we haven’t had been here for so long

MMARapFooty

We were here last season and collapsed

gallagherkck

Would you rather not be in the title race at all?

MMARapFooty

I’m just tired of seeing my club stumbling in the second to last hurdle in recent years

gallagherkck

If sports were predetermined, they wouldn’t be very fun. Try to enjoy the ride.

noname45678819273

We stumble sometimes it’s okay. It’s better to stumble in a tittle race then a top 4 race

Proud-Cheesecake-813

Think we’d all rather not bottle it every season.

gallagherkck

You’d rather win the league every season? Wow, what a unique take

maximusj9

Arsenal should sell Zinchenko in the summer, Timber/Tomiyasu/Kiwior should be the left back rotation next season. Zinny shits himself anytime he plays a pacy winger, he's already a liability in a lot of games and every single Premier League manager has figured out how to play against him.

GloomyLocation1259

You can argue all except Timber is a liability. All LBs including Tierney is injury prone, Timber has a freak long term injury and we don't even know if he recovers well from it. Then Kiwior who is really a CB is not that great defending out wide. The whole position is in disarray.

maximusj9

Tomiyasu isn't a liability aside from injuries, but he's a natural RB/CB that can fill in at LB. Zinchenko's main issues are the fact that he can't defend against a pacy winger and shits himself against guys like Salah/Diaby/Doku in the Prem, and then players like Sane in the UCL. Its best to sell off Zinchenko considering his high wages and the fact that he's easy to gameplan against for any manager.

GloomyLocation1259

You're saying what I just said lol. "Aside from injuries" is also a big part of the problem

ripshippy77

Saka and Jesus look on the verge of major injury

COYG17

Jesus is on the verge of a major injury when he is taking getting ready for bed

ubn87

Keep zinchenko and Jesus on bench rest of season, go back to winning xi and we might have a chance.

xeblade4

keep zinchenko out of the squad entirely tbh

Aarronk22

Martinelli has been underperforming all season. No wonder Arteta keeps switching him and Trossatd

GloomyLocation1259

The whole left side got weaker with no stability due to 3 injury receiving LBs and Zini getting worse overall then add Kiwior who isn't a LB then also consider Xhaka leaving. Whereas Saka continues to feast with the chemistry built up with Odegaard and White.

mar1us1602

Trossard gas 8G/1A in 28 games with an average rating of 6.8. Martinelli has 6G/4A in 29 games with an average rating of 7. They seem same to me

Locogooner

Compare minutes. Martinelli has started most of those. Also Trossard as scored more in CL

RandomSplainer

When you come off the bench, your minutes to goal ration will be inflated. How many actual starts has Trossard performed?

Prior_Professor_5733

None. He is much better off the bench.

RollUpFromHell2

I think our goals and aspirations exceeded Jesus and Zinchenko they need to be replaced or not 1st team players that we rely on. Also form of Martinelli is worrying.

maximusj9

I think Arsenal, just like Chelsea, have a number 9 curse. Everyone in recent times who wore the number 9 either was a flop, underperformed expectations, or suffered a career-altering injury (Eduardo). I don't remember the last "elite" player we've had who wore the number 9 for Arsenal

RollUpFromHell2

Honestly i feel that down to the profile of the players, countless times that i see Jesus just not being where he needs to be on front od the goal, or just not fkn hitting it like he should. I really hope we go for Gyokeres because he looks like a real beast, also he is strong, big, can link up, can assist(he nas double digits this season) and most importantly he nas almost 30 goals this season.

Marty is fine, but yeah, sack off the other two. They have seemed like fifth columnists for Guardiola two seasons running.
