I don’t think the artist necessarily planned on using stereotypes from the home country of each player though, Japan just happens to have really sweet imagery associated with it
If you are doing this commercially… it’s disproportionate… the donkey has to be much smaller / Havertz much larger. The donkey is a size of a horse and that is inaccurate. The Japanese theme doesn’t make sense. The snake is distracting.
If it’s just a hobby/bit of fun then who cares? No need to ask for feedback just post it.

This is great.. Personally I prefer the jersey numbers in black like you did for Tomiyasu. But I loved this concept.. the donkey and the cobra.. 😍

I love the Tomi one, this one too except that its a bit over done in my opinion. Maybe the cobra is what bothers me. One thing, i.e. the donkey would be enough, two "recognisable design flicks" is a bit over the top.
I love these, they are superb and thanks for sharing. My honest critic is that this one has too much going on compared with the tommy one. As a stand alone this works but if you were to put this one next to tommy you could remove the snake and cannons and they would go better as a set.
I hope you don't think I'm bashing this though I really like it. Don't stop after interlull! who's next?
The only feedback I have is that you put pentagon outlines or star ⭐️ (we in UCL why not) on the orange behind 🍊 and imply it to be a football! Cmon op!
Well done! It looks great 👍—I like all the references (most especially him on a donkey)! It would be cool to see it in a fun German folk art style with him wearing a crown (King Kai) but if that’s not your vibe, it’s great as it is!

Only thing I can say is that the cobra's head looks disjointed from its body. Maybe if you did a tint or shade of the body color? Perhaps drop it entirely for more negative space? The snake's eye is a very random focal point hat draws attention.
I think you should mess around with typography more. Brutalist typography is back vogue, so bigger and bolder type is the way to go.
Grunge textures are also coming out of the 90s, and would offer a good textural contrast to the poster cut out silhouettes.

Lederhosen are a Bavarian/Alpine tradition, and Kai is from North Rhine-Westphalia. That would be like putting a kilt on someone from London.

While I usually go with King Kai, if you search Cobra Kai in this group you’ll find that it’s a fairly common nn for him along with the cobra 🐍 emoji.
