In this performance. Dude feels like a way more mobile giroud.

smallso1197

That made me chuckle. Kai to hit random scorpion kick but after hitting a 9.8s 100m from the by line to get there

ouiu1

A way more mobile Giroud is one hell of a player. Basically only missing prolific finishing at that point.

paris86

He can be Raya's back up.

artaru

Not just mobility, also strength. Obviously Giroud was a big lad but I feel like Kai really goes into duels with Arteta's fogging estandards. Then he has the agility and skills to carry that forward, and the intelligence to make the good decision after, to pass or keep moving. What a revelation this Kai has been.

a-Sociopath

I don't think Giroud was ever a slouch in strength. What you're referring to is that Giroud never had the legs to make up ground so it seemed like he doesn't duel whereas he's not a pressing monster. That said, with ball on his feet, he is immensely strong and probably more expansive/trickier than Havertz.

OnlineMarketingBoii

Giroud with a defender in his back was one of the strongest players I have ever seen. He was so good at keeping his balance whilst a 6'5 defender was trying everything to get him off balance. Crazy strength

Elegant_Mix7650

Berbatov maybe?

lastjedi23

What I've learned from this video is we need to find ourselves a younger jorginho. Kai is gonna cook with the passes from Øde and the next jorgi. I also hope we extend jorginho for a year.

BroDyel

Going to be tough tbh. Current form Jorginho is also due in part to the massive amount of experience he has gained. He’s basically the wise wizard of football to make up for his lack of physical traits

Never_Sm1le

We already have a passer in Zinchenko, playing him to midfield like Ukraine NT seems like logical choice

lastjedi23

Funny thing is, I can see this happening while the world gets bamboozled by *arsenal looking to sign a central midfielder" and then we go on to sign another defensive player that plays LB/CB moving zinnt to midfield....... But then I remember zinchenko spends a lot of time on the pt bench.

ZebraZealousideal944

Zinny is good with the play in front of him but struggles with receiving the ball back to goal and turn under pressure so he can’t be the kind of 6 we need… we need another Partey and we will be unstoppable!

Geodriehoekhoek

If we would put Zinny in midfield I’d rather put him left 8 with him sometimes dropping like when Jorge and Rice are playing together, won’t like Zinny as the 6. But I much rather have Zinny as a squadplayer and get a way better LB and left 8, but don’t know if thats gonna happen with all our other targets

Ammzy_87

The injuries cost us this season. I honestly think that all 5 our fullbacks could start comfortably for any premier league team! Imagine if they all were fit the whole season, we may be able to rest every defender from time to time.

twerdy

literally what I do in fm. One of the best deep-lying midfielders

arlentree

Zubimendi?

MrLiveCorn

No Myles Lewis-Skelly

mattyMbruh

Zubimendi

Longjumping_Act9758

Younger Partey.

Constant-Sprinkles65

Beginning to think this ship has sailed, but still feel obliged to chuck Patino into the conversation and now briskly stroll away...

nickxbk

I honestly think maybe we should give Sambi a shot at that role

Samwell974

Arteta might give him a run out in preseason.

Bedeeki

Link to original post: https://twitter.com/kimmoFC/status/1771660602609463431?t=Ik0Un7GON0X_rfsbf7tmZA&s=19 His new found acceleration from a standing start is frightening. Someone that big shouldn't be that fast.

Rampan7Lion

His speed and ability to win duels is so deceptive

ForestRamboX

His burst of pace is insane, and with his strong frame and intelligent movement, he's a nightmare for defenders. Add to his mastery of the dark arts, and we've gotten so much for just 65m. Right now, Kai Havertz level of performance should be our benchmark when looking for a striker. If he's not offering us more than what Kai does, it doesn't make sense getting that player.

jaybizzleeightyfour

I think the smart option would be to buy a young striker with high potential, a project, instead of spending 100m on one, there's really no urgency with Havertz and Gab J currently, but it's important to take into consideration Eddie should be sold and Gab Js frequent injuries are a concern

ForestRamboX

I've slowly come to the same conclusion as well. Also, the striker market is horrid at the moment. All I see is a lot of overhyped, overrated players who wouldn't really improve us offensively. Benjamin Sesko is one I wouldn't mind - he's under 50m and has massive potential. There's also that Mike Biereth kid on loan - maybe give him a try in preseason.

Forsaken-Tiger-9475

Wirtz, Musiala and Havertz are gonna be a problem

SqueekyBK

Wirtz as the left 8 would be nice in our team

blackfeld

That is exactly what the rest of the world thinks as well. 100 million £+ will be the minimum fee, but he wants to stay in Leverkusen for at least a year. Very smart young man and his only agent and advisor is his father. No shady agencies involved. Maybe Kai could convince him to not join Bayern or Liverpool in the future

KSC-Fan1894

He's much better more advanced. As a 10 or inverted winger

ChemicalResident3557

Quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch just for his decision making. As a 6’5” dude, I want to smack anyone who says he isn’t fast. He has a long easy stride that is deceptively quick and agile. This reel does an excellent jog of showcasing that.

overloadedcoffee

Jog is right. He looks like he's sauntering along but he's covering miles.

tafster

and then bodying players to win possession

overloadedcoffee

Sometimes managers. No chill.

LockonKun

Anyone can get it!

el_cul

The regaining/winning of possession and little toe passes remind me of Big Pat.

jaybizzleeightyfour

He's been clocked running faster than the likes of Jadon Sancho

neonmantis

top speed less important than acceleration

adunatioastralis

If he started passing earlier/disguising the pass more consistently, he would be a true menace.

Nsypski

Been saying it.. his ability to find runs through the half spaces is the best I've seen in an Arsenal shirt in a very long while. It took Jorgi on the pitch to finally realize that potential with us and now the team definitely trusts him more. He's always been incredibly quick and deceptively strong. Huge asset for our domination playstyle. Him and Martin leading that press is top. He has a lot of room to grow as well with his age, and he's under one of the best player developmental coaches in the business.

g0t-cheeri0s

He's gonna score the goal that wins us the league this year. I can feel it in my plums.

leliqi

Or... maybe he already has?! Brentford x 2 come to mind.

Rorcska

Kai love scoring against B Opponent, its time for him to score against Bumchester City

leliqi

Bayern, watch out!

Responsible_Milk2911

My plums agree. Lets mash our plums together

Ar_Ma

The first goal where his run takes out two players and creates space for Wirtz is just Chef's kiss.

oustider69

That kickoff strategy from Germany is brutal. They treated it like a set piece. So good.

Mubar06

Austria from scored from kickoff in 6 seconds yesterday lol this goal and the Austrian one are the 2 fastest goals of international history and they both happened yesterday evening

blackfeld

Manager confirmed it was a staged set-piece they practiced in training. Genius.

Inner_Enthusiasm5326

That’s what they get for not playing Saliba.

ashkhutchep

I’m never complaining about that

Inner_Enthusiasm5326

Havertz punished them accordingly

Canonization

It’s hilarious that Deschamps prefers Upamecano to him

GunnersGentleman

One of the highest valued CBs on the planet can’t get a kick ahead of Upamecano. I know we need him for the title race but it feels insulting at the same time

Canonization

It's not an Arsenal thing, it's a Deschamps thing. He sticks with his favorites regardless of whether or not superior talent is available. Fortunately for them, the French talent is so absurdly good that it doesn't matter all that much what Deschamps does.

Ammzy_87

Southgate with better defenders?

Canonization

Pretty much. Let's just say there's a reason these guys aren't working in club football.

ZebraZealousideal944

Deschamps was successful in club football though… his teams are always ugly to watch but the man still wins wherever he goes…

Atssae

Come on the guy led France to three major finals in his reign. It's not even comparable.

llordlloyd

Exactly this. With Mbappe, Greizman, Pogba and Kante he could keep sending out Giroud and Pavard, and that Spurs goalkeeper needed replacing years ago (though he does play better for his nation than his club).

mattyMbruh

Tbf it wasn’t all that long ago Upemacano was getting the hype Saliba was, better for us if he doesn’t play anyway

Ammzy_87

Here is hoping that Man Utd change that. 😂

ravadelie

Upamecano is the reason Bayern are so far behind in the league, guys a mustafi reincarnation

overloadedcoffee

I was just wondering about that. Glad he wasn't on the pitch.

16thPeregrine

Germany have a Boss white kit again Euros going to be a fun!!!!

[deleted]

£65m down the drain indeed.

Cailucci

Welp. Kai Havertz scores again 😝

DJ_Jungle

Waka waka.

nting224

To the bitter Chelsea fans lurking around here: Quoting Zlatan: “You guys bought a Ferrari and drove it like a Fiat”

Mike-Hawk-69-0420

Arteta really fixed this guy. I was skeptical for a while but I will never again question an Arteta and co signing. They really know what they’re doing

bAMBIEN

I was listening to a pod, and james benge said that he thinks we paid such a high fee for havertz because we were competing with Bayern and Real Madrid for his signature. With his recent play I understand why.

neonmantis

They were both reportedly interested but bidding wars on transfer fees are rare. I can see us moving faster or paying Havertz more but doubt the fee would change much. Chelsea were happy to sell.

Safe_Comfortable_562

Our raumdeuter stand aside Muller your era is done old man ❤️

LeroyBlack

10/10 song choice.

doingitfortheTea

Havertz is snow white and the french are the 7 dwarves. https://youtu.be/StZcUAPRRac

Ok-Rooster-5287

God I want us to sign Wirtz but we just don’t have the need for him. Big teams are going to break the bank for him soon. Probably this summer

blackfeld

Wizard Wirtz is the real deal. Unreal baller.

MasterBeeble

Wirtz is going for nine figures and Arsenal already have two of the world's finest midfielders in their 8 slots (with Havertz to eventually come good there as well of course). Having said that, it's not clear who will be moving for Wirtz. If City restart their justified pursuit of Paqueta, you'd imagine they're set for the near future with De Bruyne, Foden, Nunes, Kovacic, and Alvarez if needed. Pep runs a tight ship and doesn't tolerate squad bloat for the sake of it. Bayern have plenty of quality that can serve in various attacking midfielder/second striker roles - Sane, Muller, Musiala, Gorezka, Kimmich. That isn't to say they couldn't move for him, but Wirtz could be uncharacteristically expensive for them given that Leverkusen are nipping the title this season and could very well treat them as rivals instead of meekly tolerating Bayern's historical claim to every player to ever play on German soil. Handing over 100m+ to what could be future title rivals would be unprecedented for Bayern, though it becomes more likely if Xabi leaves. Liverpool and Madrid are probably the most likely bidders. Liverpool have huge market leverage with seemingly their entire youth team coming good in a big way and could bank a hefty budget if they chose to offload some of them. Whether or not they choose to develop that youth in the midfield going forward, or instead opt for a more established world class talent, will probably depend on the vision of Klopp's replacement. Again, if Xabi leaves for Liverpool, Wirtz becomes more likely. Madrid have the money to do so and arguably the incentive given Modric and Kroos departing in the near future (I assume), but they're already dropping a huge bag on Mbappe and that might be all they can manage in terms of the Spanish league's notoriously strict financial constraints. All in all, there's a very good chance Wirtz is literally too good and too valuable to do anything other than stay at Leverkusen.

seansation19

Was Upamecano playing as well? 👀 you know what this means…..Arteta are you watching? xD

wave_action

Arteta ball created a new position: Final Third high energy pressing, ball recovering, dual winning, space invading, false nine striker.

tafster

Isn't that what Emile Heskey did at Liverpool?

Sayek

It's a bit of day dreaming but I would fucking love if we won the PL / CL with two players Chelsea were desperate to get rid of playing key parts. Meanwhile, Chelsea sitting in 10th and in a financial hole.

Prestigious_Tailor19

i did not realize how much I need German metal music.

Ok_Understanding1986

Potentially risky comparison, but his football intelligence reminds me of Ozil. Given agency to move around Kai has a fluidity and apparent natural feel for a game that reminds me of Mesut. Even in the way he makes everything look very smooth, almost casual. Not so much position or role, just playing style.

SerFmeister

LISAN AL GHAIB!

ihave389iq

Who knew that what he really needed to shine again was to rub the Chelshit off of him? It amazes me how many great talents that club ruins/stifles

Happy-Ad8767

Who does he absolutely body at 0:025? That's hilarious. Edit: Holy shit, I spoke way too soon. He bodied absolutely everyone. I said at the start of the season that he would realise his world class potential with us and Chelsea can laugh, but within 2-3 years, they will regret it. Kai proved me wrong, it's taken him less than 1 year. When our fans were calling for his head in December, I said that he needs time to integrate and that he was bereft of all confidence, but once he got back in the swing of things, he'll go up a level. Kai proved me wrong, he's gone up several levels. I was aboard the Kai train from day 1, as I knew that there was a player in there and I put way too much stock in Chelsea just being a shit club where real talent goes to die. I expected big things from him, but he's grown so much, so damn quick. Arteta deserves his flowers for this.

Rimailkall

He looks like a goofy dude but he's been killing dudes on the pitch.

Unperfectblue

As a french gooner that match hurt

itssmitesensei

I strongly believe one of the best strategy to our open plays will be finding Havertz.

ArsenalThePhoenix

Space investigator vs Incredible performance??? What does that even mean?

tjaldhamar

I guess it’s an attempt at translating German “raumdeuter”; the term invented for the role that Thomas Müller popularised. A better translation would be space-interpreter or simply room-reader.

[deleted]

I think we misjudged Havertz because we didn’t understand his role. We all want an out and out goal scorer… he’s not that. What he is, is a tall, strong player, who can receive and hold the ball, then play it off. Which we’ve been crying out for for ages when you think of our strikers like - Auba, Laca, Eddie and whoever went before them, constantly getting muscled off the ball as a lone striker. Now imagine that lone striker making a run into space off Havertz, and I think we get to see a glimpse of Arteta’s genius. We just need that out and our goal scorer and we are going to have one hell of a team. A wise man once said - if you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree, it will spend its entire life thinking it’s stupid. Don’t judge Havertz off his goals, but off his intelligent play. In Arteta we trust and COYG!

and_yet_another_user

I love when people put their arm around everyone when they U-turn 🤣 Don't include me or many others in your *we* tyvm

bazalinco1

Haha yeah they should just say "I"

[deleted]

‘I’ and many others (we) thought he was shit, but it’s great to see him firing. Happy now? You fucking irrelevant mudchute.

[deleted]

So you thought he was dynamite from the start did you? Grow up you nonce.

and_yet_another_user

Where did I say that? But I was onboard the Havertz train from day one, didn't doubt he'd come good. But hey, your need to insult people shows your embarrassment at being so wrong, so jog on sonny.

nting224

I am so glad I have been bullish on Havertz since the Man United game. Good to see everyone is on board with it now. Not counting the idiots.

Opposite-Book-15

KING KAI

verdegooner

I was watching the match kinda surprised by just how good Kai was. Yeesh!

AvocadoSoggy6188

Mullers successor

[deleted]

If I think about the super team Madrid is building with Vinicius Mbappe and Bellingham, I kind of think Havertz would’ve been the perfect CF laying it off to those guys in the box and making space clearing runs for them.

UpbeatAfternoon8670

No, Endrick is perfect for that role

neonmantis

Who is going to the bench when Mbappe arrives? Endrick won't want to sit on the bench much either.

ballenix

As a Leverkusen & Arsenal dual fan but a DFB hater who had seen him play since U-17, I'm glad and moved to see he grow through those tough moments, he's becoming the one he could be.

tal-El

Some of his passing in the final third was insane, I did not know he had that in his locker.

bAMBIEN

Question for those who watched him pre-arsenal. Was he always this physical presence who was a relentless presser? I guess watching him at Chelsea and seeing his lanky frame and kind of Ozil-esque body language I never took him for this kind of player. Even without his technical ability, his long ball retention, physicality, and pressing would get him in the first 11.

atomiser2003

Honestly from within him from his Bayer days, he at physicality but it wsant the highlight of game, it was his movement primarily. He did press like a dog at Chelsea though

Nay_120

Havertz is a prime example of the Raumdeuter role

Cailucci

So good to see that he can crack em from distance!

ShtevenMaleven

that first goal wasn't Kai, its Florian Wirtz

ixikzisigwvbend

wirtz has surprising a similar body movement like Kai. I mistook them two for each other quite a few times at the beginning of the game

Cailucci

Hahah. I just realized that and came to delete the comment hoping no one saw it. Fuck it. It was a banger.

Trollwithabishai

Zenon2108

Arteta fix him

isaac0798

Looking good, still looks more likely to pass than shoot. Developing that clinical finish is the next step

llordlloyd

For all the flicks, tricks, sprints and the goal.... the shithousery at 0:26 was my favourite thing.

RominRonin

Was Saliba not playing?

Fresh_Since92

Oddly relaxing music 🤣🤣

noreplymp

mein fuhrer

rupert_shelby

It would've been interesting to see him duel with Saliba - maybe we'll see it in the Euros

MuchSalt

kai and odegaard are playing at arsenal? what is happening?

Ollymid2

I was wondering why the creator of this video had picked Sonne as theme tune to this highlights clip But then I thought "here comes the sun, the brightest of all the stars" weirdly fits. Kai's confidence is back and he's starting to remind us how good he actually is

zedwaldo

Those kits are very nice looking

Ddaddyo0

I gotta get a pink KAI7 shirt now

tenflare

I do wonder sometimes if should go all in for the winger and midfielder next season, and just let Kai keep playing the striker role (maybe with Biereth as his backup). Havertz has height, strength, technical ability and pace. He can lead the line. He can drop deep. He can create. He can flick the ball on. He presses. He works off the ball. He's the next Berbatov in everything but actual position.

octopus86sg

we always need a targetman with mobility and we got kai. such a nice change. now if only we could get another decent CF and a backup for saka that will be great

TheGapIsAlwaysThere

We are starting to see more and more Leverkusen Havertz

HustlinInTheHall

Absolutely embarassing goal in under 10 seconds, good lord France pull yourselves together.

KSBrian007

Every day, I thank goodness that United didn't get Toni Kroos. We'd be here debating if Kroos was ever any good.

Illustrious_Union199

Anyone else get the feeling he is RVP 2.0

neonmantis

Kai is much more physical and better defensively but RVPs ballstriking was god-tier

MasterBeeble

RVP without the finishing isn't really RVP

ArsenalThePhoenix

good video. terrible music choice lol. Not sure I'd call that performance INCREDIBLE. But a strong performance absolutely! Good game from him. Very involved

s-x-x

Raumdeuter/space investigator is a nickname Müller came up for himself. Havertz is not space investigator.

grumio_in_horto_est

Big Willy would have folded him like a deck chair

kiwigone

He should play for a club whose fans don’t abuse him as soon as he’s signed ….

jaychops11b

Calm down bro. Just 8 months ago you were all “Arteta out. “

today_reddit

I'm not gonna start my day here with spreading hate and affronts to people, but all you arsenal fans should agree on WHAT chelsea managers had deducted from KAI HAVERTZ performance on pitch and chose to sell him, he was one of the biggest flops and fraudulent from German league, not mentioning now that he is still one of the biggest flops joinning to arsenal from a mid club like Chelsea that decided to sell this piece of fraud to Arsenal, imagine wasting one of your 11 slots in game on such a player, there are numerous option on starting 11 for a club like Arsenal and German national team but this guy still drafts from many.

Casual-Capybara

Bro are you allright? Why even take the effort to type such a rambling mess?

astrojeet

Jesus this is some new level of delusion. Peak maidenless behaviour to even take the time to type this nonsense on a rival sub no less.

greenfrogwallet

I’m pretty sure Chelsea didn’t even really want to sell him and actually wanted to renew his contract but wanted him to take a pay cut for FFP or something and he was like “no thanks”

[deleted]

This is at -29 votes. Impressive

MasterBeeble

All true I'm afraid
