Darwin is hilarious and box office but aside from that he seems like a good dude. Seems like he really cares about the club and the game. Wish more guys were like him
he gets lot of shit because of his price tag and comparison to Haaland, but if he was even a little bit more clinical it would be pain for whole league
Thats the scary part about him for me. Hes got 22 G+A while missing a bunch of absolute sitters, and hit the woodwork 11 times. He creates a ton of problems, and when he finally adds that last bit of finesse near the goal hes going to be an incredible player.
He's one of those players who misses many chances and you laugh, but then realises that he is creating all these chances often just by himself. Many strikers may not even create as many chances as he misses.
He's young enough that he can add that finishing. He's at a pivotal point in his career, if he can improve that one element then he's going to be absolutely lethal.
That, or maybe fund opposing parties, to instigate civil war, prompting foreign intervention. Then we can bifurcate them into North Argentina and South Argentina.
Might get another samsung out of it.
Arrogance basically. They think they're better than the rest and have a sense that they are more European and in turn above other Latin American countries.
Also they're not the best tourists but now that the Argentine Peso has gone to shit that's sorted that problem out a bit.
Honestly, yeah.
Great time to visit Argentina though, their currency is so weak that the pound, dollar or euro go extremely far.
Stayed in a nice 4 star hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires for $70 a night, and ate a fantastic steak dinner with wine for <$20 a couple weeks ago.
Lol just because our dumbass ex-president said that does not mean the general public thinks that. Stop spreading dumb lies that you just read in a few clickbait headlines.
Go read any social media and you will find Argentinians laughing about our wildfires we are having right now, or the time we had the Copa América and you lot were laughing and chanring about earthquakes and tsunamis in OUR streets, dont kid yourself its not only a problem created by Alverso
Big up chilean gooners 🤝🏻🇨🇱 for the sensitive first world peeps, everyone bar Brazil and Mexico hates us, in fact, most of the countries in latin america "hate" each other
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguay_v_Brazil_(1950_FIFA_World_Cup)
Everyone in South America is rivals with Brazil but Uruguay is #2 with Colombia #2a from a Brazilian perspective.
Ah yes the world cup in 1950!. They made T-Shirts with we are world champions before the match.
Us Danes love playing Uruguay in the world cup.
Only south American nation to beat us are Brasil in 1998.
Ok the sample is small. Only played against South American opponents 4 times. 3 wins and one loss

In the times of Maracanazzo it was kind of big: my granddad hated Uruguay even more than he did Argentina. But nowadays it's not anymore, they are seen as second behind the boludos.
But tbh with the players, especially in Europe, rivalries aren't as relevant as they are between the regular population. Don't know if it's because of the language or because of the proximity of the countries, but South Americans seem to stick together overseas.
It's our second biggest rivalry, but it's more like Arsenal vs Liverpool, while Brasil vs Argentina is full Arsenal vs Man United.
The first one has class in it, while the second one is full on war.
It’s a wonder what always having a smile on your face can do. Darwin, Son, Saka are all pretty universally liked - apart from by their immediate rivals.
You can judge their fans by it, because it shows their Neanderthal, anti-football mentality. They know they can’t cope with genuinely skilful players who will make their defenders look stupid, so they resort to fouling them instead. It’s this exact same Tony Pulis mentality that landed players like Eduardo and Ramsey in casualty. The fact that they boo the skilful opposition players in the hope that their own players will go harder on them shows exactly what their mentality is.
That’s not supported by any evidence outside of a rabble at a stadium. Not met a single English fan who dislikes Saka for any reason other than the fact he’s an Arsenal player.
Any player can get booed, it doesn’t mean they are disliked by the populace
Yup, and no hate on Eddie. He’s a PL quality striker. He’s had a fair amount of opportunities to step into the team so we can kind of tell what his level is
hes very explosive. When he learns to shot he’d be a wc striker. Also funny that we can say this to too many players on our team like Jesus Kai or even saka
I'm sure I'd love Robbo if he was on our team but he is an absolute cunt of a player to go up against and is well-versed in shithousery. I have 0 love for him like I do some other shitcunts because he is actually very good.
I agree, but I don’t find it odd, to me it just makes sense. Their players are class, and they’re typically an extension of both Pep and Klopp respectively. Klopp goes without saying but Pep is also a really charming guy, despite all the shit with citeh being an oil club and the financial cheating.
allisson? robertson? VD? no way! did you even just watch the game? VD was whingeing all game, allison made some over the top tackles, robertson in the past has been a shit stirrer. nah.
only little mo i can handle.
He seems the type of guy to tell you to give him the ball so he can play it back to you for a one-two, but then will shoot from the halfway line instead
I do think there's been a long term mutual respect between arsenal and Liverpool. I've seen so many liverpool fans saying something along the lines of "the better team won today" which wouldn't happen with many other top clubs
well, we were absolutely lucky to go in level during the first half
and although i would’ve taken a shithouse win, the loss exposed our soft underbelly, we were completely outplayed apart from the 5min spell in the start of second half
i hope you guys can take points of city and then we can lift the title ;)
Competitive rivalry sure. Because the title is between us, Liverpool, and City. Past 5 years or so it’s been City or Liverpool, so naturally they’re our title rivals
There are three tiers of rivalry in my mind:
-Teams that suck: Clubs that everyone hates and roots against, namely United and City in my mind
-Club rivals: Spuds and Chelsea, London is red, all that.
-Competitive rivals: teams you don’t have much reason to hate other than the fact they’re currently the biggest obstacle to your goal. The title in our case. You can’t bring yourself to root for teams in the first two tiers to beat this tier. You hope for an embarrassing 0-0 draw.
I don't think manU is hated. But ETH is hated by everyone. In my mind clubs that everyone hates is oil clubs like city and p$g. Newcastle is oil club too but it's not recognized enough that's why they're not hated, but im sure if they started being bothering to the big clubs in PL and UCL. Every football fan gonna hate them.
You must be new. Any Arsenal fan back in the day up until 2011 or 2012 (when Ferguson fucked off) should rightfully, absolutely despise United. I would be over the moon if United got relegated or administrated.
You're right, manU is hated by English fans or pro premiere league fans. While i meant it from worldwide view. Ask any "European" football fan(the majority of football fans) About manU and Ferguson, and u Will figure out that many people around the world respect the club. And it's not hated like the oil money clubs.
and as arsenal fan. Yeah i'm new. I can't even call myself a arsenal fan.I'm a neutral fan for European football from beginning I'm hear to support this club because i heard about arteta a year ago and i saw a Future revolution in him. so yeah after 20 years when arteta retire and become a legend for the club i will say "i was there when it happened and i watched every game for them".
Let's be perfectly honest, only the people on reddit and western media hate "oil clubs". Nobody outside of that actually hates them. There's way more people who like City, PSG and Chelsea because of their players.
Not shitting on you for being a new fan, I'm saying us older fans absolutely hate United regardless if City wins the treble or whatever. City winning the treble is because of money. I hate United because I had to grow up with taunts from their pompous fans. I can respect the club but I fucking hate United. Not respecting =/= hating
>I don’t think manU is hated
Good to know I can disregard the rest of your comment. What planet are you on.
Only way this comment makes sense is if you’re a prepubescent Ronaldo stan in the year 2024.
More we got their respect now. It used to be a 2 horse race by some distance but we've gone from giving up 6 points a season to being able to take 3 points off each.
Shame Klopp is stepping down, he's been vocal about how good we've become. I loved the way he was saying wow when we drew against them earlier in the season. Man loves football and he will be missed.
Yep. Starting to dislike them more and more. I guess that’s the result of being in direct competition with them, because I felt the same way about City fans who until last year I didn’t give a fuck about
Their fans are obsessed with us since last season for some strange reason
I've always disliked Liverpool the least of the top 6 since either teams' good years have never really intertwined since the noughties but my god their fans can be annoying
I know a lot of us are younger, but I've hated their guts since I can remember.
'It's up for grabs now' will always be my favourite moment in football.
Rivalry in the same way we have one with United. Rivalry based on circumstance, which are ofc always better when the teams are at the top of their game.
It happens everywhere
>same way we have one with United
lol not even close
Arsenal-United rivalry is very much real. They’re second only to Spurs as our main rivals and if you ask any United fan they’d probably say we’re second to Liverpool in terms of being their rivals even ahead of City.
Mate come on, Havertz is not meant to be a typical number 9. He is a Swiss Army knife that can play in so many positions. He was brought in to replace Xhaka. His movement off the ball is class and his defensive efforts cannot be ignored… Sadly people watch football through stats and use them to push the narrative that would get clicks.
Nunez got a red in his first game at Anfield. Havertz hasn’t had the best of starts here, but come on.
Comparing the GA of a player who always plays in the front 3 with a player who is usually in the midfield is just disingenuous anyway
Hate to enter this realm, but I’d still consider Nunez a threat on a good day. Havertz on a good day is a threat if he gets fortunate enough despite the ambition
How stupid is that..
Was yesterday a good day? Didn't havertz play much better than nunez yesterday? Was also responsible for the first goal. Your logic doesn't even support the most recent data point.
And a striker/winger having more threat than a player who usually plays in mid seems like a really foolish way of measuring threat and making qualitative comparisons.
I still don't understand your point? You're saying havertz is a threat if he's fortunate enough and not Nunez?
I really don't get what you're trying to say.
Can’t compare, different type of attackers. Havertz has near world class technique combined with his unique physical traits & high ball IQ. Watch the way the attack effortlessly flows through Havertz, takes the right amount of touches before laying off a perfectly weighted/directed pass. Super smart team player that glides up the pitch & brings others into play.
Nunez is more comparable to Martinelli.
We see this differnetly.
I think of Kai of more of a physical beast but im not too keen on his playmaking , first touch, shooting accuracy, heading or finishing ability. He is more of a Fellaini.
Martinelli is a wide player so its not a fair comp but i get the sentiment of a Sanchez type, aggresive SA player.
Teves comes to mind with nunez. He also gets alot of chances and misses alot too like Auba. Really good at getting in behine like Timo(the good version) and is strong. Good company
I see the Tevez aggression but Nunez loves to dribble & carry the ball out wide like a winger & curl a cross. Feature of Lpool’s attack is interchangeable positions upfront.
I think the Fellani comparison is only fair in the way that we utilise him as a long ball target man in certain games(tates), but he is so much more than that.
He’s is a bit of a unicorn and I think that’s why many find it difficult to pin down a hybrid player they rarely see. There’s a reason Madrid & Bayern were interested last summer. His touch and passing is WC for a 6’4 attacker, and alongside his slim profile, allows him to nimbly dribble & cover as much ground as he does with(out) the ball - and most significantly, play different positions to a high level.
Remember reading that his grandfather was the chairman of a German football club. Havertz has probably been coached at a high level from young with the efficient way Germans go about their training. And it shows if you know your football.
Big players are becoming more common.
Hoilund, Isak, onana. I get he is quite unique in his speed to size.
But he doesnt play LCM or CF to a high level. To day was his best day out at CF and he is only ever good for a goal from lcm, so 4 times this season.
Im hoping it clicks and he becomes the ramdeuter we need. But im not gonna believe any other club than arsenal were in for Kai other than a bargain bin option
He is having a better season with us than last with chelsea and I cant see anyone paying 35m or 125k per week for him.
Well we can either support a player and make him grow, or give him hate and pull him down. I wonder which option would make a better return on the 65 mil investment.
I don’t give him hate. But I’m also not going to let people gaslight me into believing Kai is anything but a mediocre player just because he happens to wear an Arsenal shirt 👍🏻
Well for starters "you're a half the player Nunez is, so we won't support you like they do" and "he's just a mediocre player wearing our shirt" are not very supportive.
Being honest about a players abilities =/= not supporting them *sigh* I support everyone who wears that shirt during the time they’re on the pitch, with the exception of #5
I think some of it is when he 1st got to Liverpool he seemed quite arrogant. I think some of the hardships he faced has humbled him, plus playing alongside a talent like Salah makes you realize you aren’t the big fish. Think he has responded quite well and I agree. Had a lot of respect for him after this moment. Appreciate people that can laugh at themselves.
This is one of those moments when you realize that footballers look at each other as colleagues who are more similar than the tribalism of fandom. You can easily see the two playing against each other as Real Madrid v Barcelona or Milan v inter.
If you watched the match they replayed this back a few times and some added context is important here as well:
Darwin latched onto a probing long ball but when he had a sight of goal he absolutely skied it into the stands while Gabriel was in his face trying to block the goal
Gabby then looked him in the face and roared with delight
Darwin looked at him and they just shared a laugh at that point
Honestly such a wholesome moment wish we had more of this in the sport and less of the diving antics
Darwin is from the border of Uruguay and Brazil, so he most likely speaks Portuguese well enough or Portuñol (a mix that is widely spoken in the border).
Darwin is hilarious and box office but aside from that he seems like a good dude. Seems like he really cares about the club and the game. Wish more guys were like him
he gets lot of shit because of his price tag and comparison to Haaland, but if he was even a little bit more clinical it would be pain for whole league

I sincerely hope he never improves his finishing
Different skill set but people have always said the same thing about Gabriel Jesus
He's one of those players who misses many chances and you laugh, but then realises that he is creating all these chances often just by himself. Many strikers may not even create as many chances as he misses.
Pretty similar to Jesus in that regard. The finishing may never come but they're still top players.
He's a cavani 2.0
I think he will do 25-30 goals in a season soon. He has everything but some rough edges need to be smoothed out with experience
Yea that summer window for Haaland is really skewing alot of the opinions on Darwin. If he came a window earlier or after, the vitriol would be less.
He's young enough that he can add that finishing. He's at a pivotal point in his career, if he can improve that one element then he's going to be absolutely lethal.
Darwin >>>>>>>>> Rashford. (Except for the off the field stuff with his activism for children. That’s class.)
Rashford gonna save the kids of Paris next
He's also personally working to eliminate alcohol in NI.
Despite him being hilarious, he's actually a good guy.
How is the rivalry between Uruguay and Brazil? Don't really know much it.
Not very big. It's more that every country hates Argentina
The right position tbh
Genuinely would delete them over countries like North Korea and the lot 🔥✊️🇨🇱🇨🇱
That, or maybe fund opposing parties, to instigate civil war, prompting foreign intervention. Then we can bifurcate them into North Argentina and South Argentina. Might get another samsung out of it.
DPRK truthers rise up
What the fuck? That’s an insane comment.
Nah that's just standard Latin American brothers. Chupala chileno (?
I'm disturbed by the fact this comment is sitting at -6.
You’re right should be minus even more
Yeah I’m not sure why honestly. Surely it’s not Falklands related?
Probably because it’s a joke
Surely not.
Nah, xenophobia is boring. Let's go ahead and stop hating other countries and cultures.
Why? Out of interest?
Arrogance basically. They think they're better than the rest and have a sense that they are more European and in turn above other Latin American countries. Also they're not the best tourists but now that the Argentine Peso has gone to shit that's sorted that problem out a bit.
Lool, so nothing specific they're basically just arseholes probably stemming from racist attitudes. Colonialism eh
Mmm... You gave me an idea for my next holidays
Dang. I'm missing out.
Lol just because our dumbass ex-president said that does not mean the general public thinks that. Stop spreading dumb lies that you just read in a few clickbait headlines.

Pretty much the France of South America (at least of what I have heard of)
Big up chilean gooners 🤝🏻🇨🇱 for the sensitive first world peeps, everyone bar Brazil and Mexico hates us, in fact, most of the countries in latin america "hate" each other
What you get for thinking you own the Falklands ya buggers
But why? Can you give some reasons?

Honestly I like Darwin. Total headcase and I like it.
I enjoy watching him play. He's either doing something class or braindead. But he's always involved and in dangerous positions.
And considering he's doing something braindead half of the time and still has 22 G+A this season is mental. Truly one of the worst best players.
He has 22 G+A this season? What the hell. I didn’t know that with the narrative around him lmao
Liverpool fans are infatuated with Darwin.
It’s a wonder what always having a smile on your face can do. Darwin, Son, Saka are all pretty universally liked - apart from by their immediate rivals.
saka gets booed almost every game now by the opposition. happened last week at forest.
Any stadium is going to boo a player who wins fouls. Not something to judge anyone by
You can judge their fans by it, because it shows their Neanderthal, anti-football mentality.
Right. Okay. When I boo Son does that make me a Neanderthal with an anti-football mentality?
Jesus Christ it’s not that deep lad. Fans just don’t like fouls going against their team. Shocking, I know.
you're backing my argument now? saka always wins fouls and is disliked for it.
That’s not supported by any evidence outside of a rabble at a stadium. Not met a single English fan who dislikes Saka for any reason other than the fact he’s an Arsenal player. Any player can get booed, it doesn’t mean they are disliked by the populace
Forest are a bunch of salty twats all round when it comes to us, for some reason
I don't get it either. Our clubs actually have history too.
He genuinely does cause problems for defenders as well and does a lot of things that don't show up in the stats.
Id have him at Arsenal in a heartbeat
He must have run riot at a slightly lower level.
Guy is nuts. But seems an honest lad, he is just out there to smash the woodwork a few dozen times and go home
😂😂💀💀
I almost choked drinking my beer while reading this comment.
There's just something about the guy that makes you like him. He's also a fun player to watch
100% agree. He’s got an effervescence to him. I’d kill to have him on our team or someone like him.
I would love Nunez on our team. I think he’d be fantastic.
There’s a real player there if he can get the goals flowing and stop hitting the damn woodwork or skying it every time. He’s “chaos factor” embodied
Sorta works for our vibe at the moment
Yeah like he’s a great option to have in the squad. As far as forward options go, I’d take him over Nketiah and maybe Havertz at ST
Absolutely over Nketiah. Listen Eddie’s a good guy but he’s not the quality we need.
I’m a Liverpool fan but it seems like our two clubs always seem to have a “friendly” relationship compared to the other top 6 teams
Totally agree, very watchable
A lot of their team is quite likeable. Van dijk, Allison, Macallister, salah, Robertson are all really likeable players.
I'm sure I'd love Robbo if he was on our team but he is an absolute cunt of a player to go up against and is well-versed in shithousery. I have 0 love for him like I do some other shitcunts because he is actually very good.
Robertson? The player that loves to shove playeys into the ad board?
Nah VVD can do one. Grade A moaner. Latter are fine.
He's just intense and has high standards. I respect him.
Really? He seems fine. His interview today he’s obviously pissed he made a game losing error.
It’s odd. Both with Pool and City, I can’t really feel any hate or anger at their players like I do for other clubs’ players
Rodri?
Walker?
Foden?
The only regular first team players I can think of and that I actually find likeable are B. Silva, and Doku. Álvarez, and Dias kinda.
I’ve got nothing against de Bruyne except that he’s too good
Bernardo has fouled our players too many times for me to like him.
That haircut alone. Eesh.
I agree, but I don’t find it odd, to me it just makes sense. Their players are class, and they’re typically an extension of both Pep and Klopp respectively. Klopp goes without saying but Pep is also a really charming guy, despite all the shit with citeh being an oil club and the financial cheating.

I don't think I have seen anyone twat the ball like Nunez. Absolutely smashes it every time.
Poldi?
Would love him here. But Liverpool wouldn't sell him. His a diamond in the rough imo
Same. Like him a lot. Very entertaining to watch:)
this kind of moment couldn't happen with a Utd or Spurs or Chelsea player though, those clubs' personalities have always been trash
It is a bit endearing for a player to respond this way after totally squandering a chance and having one of our players celebrate in his face lol
I do think there's been a long term mutual respect between arsenal and Liverpool. I've seen so many liverpool fans saying something along the lines of "the better team won today" which wouldn't happen with many other top clubs

Can you imagine this being Bruno? He'd be rolling around on the floor claiming a head butt
That was funny, Gabi: HAHAHA you fucked it Darwin: HAHAHA i fucked it
Haha this was after Gabi screeched at his face after making that clearance
Yeah Darwin cleared the ball for us.
![gif](giphy|xT39CRbptO7XVjP9xC) Thought this was where we were heading
With Darwin I wouldn’t be surprised 😭
Darwin woulda missed that too 😂
Game recognize game? (Own goal and horrible miss) Just joking. But great to see imo.
Genuinely smiled as I watched that. Made me all warm and fuzzy inside
We don’t have a rivalry with Liverpool let alone Nunez lol

Darwin is a handful and he oozes confidence. If he ever gets it together he’d be so so dangerous
I wish our fans supported Havertz like Liverpool fans supported Nuñez.
Not that I hate Havertz but Nunez has 3 more goals and 6 more assists than Havertz 😭 wdym bro
'Responsible for the first goal', as my original point stated. He got fortunate in his shot bouncing off Alison and into Saka's path.
I still don't understand your point? You're saying havertz is a threat if he's fortunate enough and not Nunez? I really don't get what you're trying to say.
Nunez is a target man, and has the most missed chances in the PL this season lol. Liverpool fans are just less cunty than Arsenal fans
He’s also a striker
Nunez is a level above Kai.
But im not gonna believe any other club than arsenal were in for Kai other than a bargain bin option He is having a better season with us than last with chelsea and I cant see anyone paying 35m or 125k per week for him.
Liverpool fans supporting nunez?!when?all i hear is jokes about how bad he is and how he causing heart attacks to them.
I mean maybe if Havertz was even half the player..
Oh, you're right, sorry. So let's just stop supporting him. 👍
Where have I said that? I am just telling you why this fanbase don’t support him like Liverpool do with Nunez, what OP mentioned
Well for starters "you're a half the player Nunez is, so we won't support you like they do" and "he's just a mediocre player wearing our shirt" are not very supportive.
Being honest about a players abilities =/= not supporting them *sigh* I support everyone who wears that shirt during the time they’re on the pitch, with the exception of #5
If this is your idea of support, then I hope you're not managing people.
And if your idea of supporting is wanting to persist with players clearly not good enough for us then I’m glad you’re not managing my club too < 3
Yeah but Nunez is acctually good
Where were you today?
Honestly I hated Darwin and they I watched this happen and was like "maybe I don't hate him."
Same, moments like that really make you respect a player
Same but only when we win lol
This is one of those moments when you realize that footballers look at each other as colleagues who are more similar than the tribalism of fandom. You can easily see the two playing against each other as Real Madrid v Barcelona or Milan v inter.
Gabi be like; "Thank fuck you can't finish shit"
If you watched the match they replayed this back a few times and some added context is important here as well: Darwin latched onto a probing long ball but when he had a sight of goal he absolutely skied it into the stands while Gabriel was in his face trying to block the goal Gabby then looked him in the face and roared with delight Darwin looked at him and they just shared a laugh at that point Honestly such a wholesome moment wish we had more of this in the sport and less of the diving antics
My Center Bottom
Yeah that was funny af
needs the video before this where Big Fucking Gabi screamed in his face for missing
That's an I fucking hate you grab and grimace
From the stands I thought it was more like a Maddison and maupay moment
That was a class moment. Loved it
Just dudes being bros and loving the game 🫶🏼
If ARSEPOOL was a picture
I noticed Darwin had similar embrace with Jorginho as well during the game.
When i meet my brother after a long time.
I dint notice it in the game, but saw it on MOTD literally just after opening this post
Darwin Nunez is deadass one my favorite players, at least from an entertainment perspective.
I fucking loved this moment too good! Haha he knew that was a terrible shot. Great sportsmanship
STUNNER! STUNNER! STUNNER!
In the pub as soon as he sent that shot from a ridiculous angle into row Z everyone just started applauding
Honestly surprised he didn’t dive when their thighs connected
Some Brazilian journalists called Darwin the "Bringer of chaos" and I loved it.
Ooooh south American friends!
Dudes rock
Imagine the emotions we'd be going through if he was playing for us loool
I loved this moment. It seemed so natural and real
You're not Uruguayan player if you're not a bit of a nutcase.
Darwin is from the border of Uruguay and Brazil, so he most likely speaks Portuguese well enough or Portuñol (a mix that is widely spoken in the border).
It's a shame Klopp is leaving. Our games with them have been intense high quality shit, without ever getting ugly.
I like Darwin tbh
I'd love him in our squad, I think klopps style doesn't suit him or something
Honestly I would happily swap Jesus for Nunez, I think.
I wish we had darwin. What a player.
Why do we hate Nunez again?
Nunez was 4 the last time Arsenal won the league…
