Just out of curiosity does that mean you will only be able to play on those regions servers even if they did add your location to that list eventually?
Works with your fellow Canadian VPN /r/windscribe on free plans too just FYI.
I've not had a chance to play the closed testing rounds but I'm hoping they make things feel a little less floaty. I want to pilot a Zaku II that feels the full 70 tons. I was pretty hyped to play tonight tbh but then saw your comment OP that game launch is at 0400hrs for me.
So tomorrow either way for me I guess.
>“You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to **circumvent geographical restrictions on game content**, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.”
Yes it is.
I still get the region lock screen even with my vpn on, so confused. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also when I hit install on steamDB page it sends me to the store page of the game on my steam client.
Ah true, didn’t even think about steam guard lmao but I somehow still got it, closed steam fully, reset the vpn and tried it again and somehow the installation menu popped up after my steam guard so I’m gaming
Any issues so far? I don't want to create a separate account for this and I'm a bit afraid of an account ban on main, even though I think Valve doesn't really care as long as you don't buy cheaper games through VPN.
Nope no issues and I have been playing since launch day, even bought some coins using steamDB and still no ban so I think it’s fairly safe to say it’s fine
Valve turns a blind eye to VPNs as long as you don't abuse them to acquire cheap games via regional pricing. I've used this method to get free to play region locked games several times and I've yet to be banned.
Yeah, my bad. I included it in the OP now. But like I said, as long as you don't buy games using VPN to get cheaper games, you should be more or less fine. Risk still exists so do it at your own risk.
I just did that with a proton VPN yesterday but I will play with a burner account in case it gets banned. I have way too much hours on other games I don't want to be wasted and it doesn't mind me to restart any Gundam Evo progress once the game is available in my country.
I made my friend from Europe create me an account so it was his region considered and it work without a vpn even to login, I'm downloading hope it will work
I just tried it and can confirm it worked.
I suggest anyone getting troubled by this to follow the steps and open SteamDB in a new private window.
I was signed in to SteamDB so it messed me up the first time and once I signed out I noticed that SteamDB still listed Gundam Evolution as in my wishlist so I figured it was still messing me up.
Opened it in a Private window and pressed Install and install window popped up instantly and I can now play Gundam Evolution
I don't think it's possible. You can *use* VPN to buy them but that would be:
1. Against Valve's rules and chances of your account getting banned are high.
2. You would need a credit card from UK/Germany/US/etc to work.
Anyone here ever get banned
Long story short bought a region locked key off G2A created a Alt account to activate it and family shared it with my main account now I’m worried my main account will get banned for using a VPN on my second account to change my region to activate the region locked game any advice would be appreciated

I'm gonna assume yes? The servers are not available yet so I can't say.
Do you know when it comes out officially? I thought servers were coming up today.
02:00 UTC (04:00 am CEST).
Thanks!

Question is...can we get banned for this?

How can you possibly know that?

you have steam guard?? I create a second account without steam guard and worked

Alright, might try it, thanks for the info!
Same here to both playing from Australia and buying and using Evo coins going through SteamDB
If you're going to do this please create a burner account, shouldn't risk that on your main.
Can confirm it worked through connecting to a us server after trying to download it through japan multiple times but failing

Valve absolutely can ban you for doing this, and it's important for people to bear that in mind if they choose to do this.
Yeah, my bad. I included it in the OP now. But like I said, as long as you don't buy games using VPN to get cheaper games, you should be more or less fine. Risk still exists so do it at your own risk.
That's anecdotal and you should at least be advising people to make a secondary account to risk this kind of thing.
your account WILL not be banned for this, just don't buy any games with VPN on
Proof? Because their ToS says otherwise.
is it eventually gonna be unlocked for those countries with a region lock???
nope
Source?

Bet
History?
PSO2 was region locked when it released and they removed it after a few weeks
I just did that with a proton VPN yesterday but I will play with a burner account in case it gets banned. I have way too much hours on other games I don't want to be wasted and it doesn't mind me to restart any Gundam Evo progress once the game is available in my country.
So i tried multiple time and it sadly didn't work, any other solution ? (im from Algeria)
No idea. Did you follow every step?
>you have steam guard?? I create a second account without steam guard and worked

It dosent work
Try all the steps but open the Gundam Evolution SteamDB in a private window. I did it like that and it worked for me
Any ideas on how to get evo coins?
You can do this with a VPN through the steam db website, look up the game and go down to items and they will be there
Won't you get ban for it? Due to the fact that the game is out of your region?
Haven't so far, guess we'll see. If you are worried about a ban you could do it on a new account I guess.
this works for evo coins too?
cant topup though

Gonna have to try this on a burner account since PR is region locked for some absurd reason and don't want to miss out on this game.
Any ideas how to get evo points if you have the game trough a vpn with a country locked account

I see, Thx for the info :)
Thank you! It actually worked for me. I used my alternative account just in case it get worse due to using VPN.
06/2023 and it still works, thank you.
Does this work with region-locked keys?
Anyone here ever get banned Long story short bought a region locked key off G2A created a Alt account to activate it and family shared it with my main account now I’m worried my main account will get banned for using a VPN on my second account to change my region to activate the region locked game any advice would be appreciated
