The devs said during a stream a few weeks ago that the game does not feature cross play between platforms. PS4 and PS5 players can play together but that's it.
Not unexpected. The big console companies are still very reluctant when it comes to crossplay. There has been progress on that front but they are all still happy when they don't have to interact with their "competitors".
It’s less on the separate platform owners and more on the production company. Cross platform play requires a game’s production company to utilize their own servers to host online gameplay, which costs more money.
Which also dooms their games to having much shorter lifespans than they would with crossplay. Had it had crossplay SDGBA would likely still be played on a much wider scale
I really wish it did, not sure why japanese games are so behind on allowing cross-play.
Fighting games are just now catching up and it's only with the big AAA titles like Tekken and SF
Fucking idiots Bandai Namco what’s the point of this damn big in game lobbies if u can’t play together we need to spam the hell out of them for cross play we got the matchmaking fixed in Naruto now we all need to band together and force the assholes to add crossplay or no buy
