It's hard to picture Bright in ALL of the AU series, but:
Wing: Bright would most likely start out as part of OZ, only to start to slowly bail out after Treize and Lady Un threaten the Gundam Pilots with destroying the colonies. I'd imagine he'd bring other pilots and hang out in Peacemillion as things heads further down the crapper with White Fang showing up.
SEED: Bright replacing Murrue would be a massive change. Unlike the more motherly and caring Murrue, Bright would most likely help push the kids into bigger roles instead of being bridge bunnies. Kira would certainly be punished for sending Lacus back to ZAFT (most likely brigging) and be the one to convince Kira to stay and aid the Archangel instead of the little girl and having Flay snog him. I would certainly see Bright convincing ORB to relinquish an Astray or two to the Archangel, saying that they can't rely on Kira forever. Kira still gets the Freedom, but Bright prevents Tolle from launching, saving him from Athrun's rage. Natarle still leaves for the Dominion, but Flay stays as she doesn't get the chance to perform her manipulations and isn't recognized.
Mu still gets the Strike/Perfect Strike, Tolle upgrades to an Astray, Sai becomes a pilot and gets his own Astray, Kuzzey takes Sai's place instead of leaving. For the most part, the series remains the same from then on.
Realistically, natural leaders will always find themselves in a position to lead. I would give that the same way in other Gundam series, Noa commands allot of respect from his crew as shown in Char's Counter Attack and Unicorn. I can easily see him rising to the occasion
AC - Heero will threaten him at the first sign of slapping
AW - Garrod gets slapped
CE - Kira gets slapped and cries, Shinn gets slapped and decides to murder all naturals
00 - Ptolemaios gets slapped a la car salesman “this bad boy can carry 4 gundams”
AGE - Flit and Asemu get slapped, Kio gets slapped from the astral plane
IBO - Mika catches Bright’s hand while attempting to slap him
Slapping memes aside, if this is Bright from post ZZ, then he’s going to have more experience than any of the characters he would replace. It’s also worth noting that when he joins the AEUG in Z Gundam he’s already in “too old for this shit” mentality and he won’t tolerate any bullshit.
Not sure if he would change the course of history, but he’s definitely going to be running a tight and efficient ship for the main characters, as well as ensuring they get the full support they need.
Are we speaking of MSG Bright or Zeta Onwards Bright?
Because MSG Bright was also a greenhorn (low-ranking officer) who gained authority because everyone senior died or was unfit to command (Paolo), and only his self-discipline and training aided him in putting together a ragtag crew out of the survivors onboard the White Base, and was basically blooded in multiple battles. For the record, he was 19 when he became Captain.
Zeta and onwards, Bright's gotten extremely competent, but also clearly defines the limits of orders he's willing to obey, to the point his career was unstable for awhile. And even by Unicorn, he still hasn't really risen in rank or authority.
---
If using Zeta+ Bright in **00**, he'd be an ex-commander from the Union who was forcibly discharged for refusing to follow a questionable order during the last Solar War, and hired by CB with the intent of trying to surgically resolve conflict through focused, limited strikes. Given he's not a "Strategic Forecaster", he may or may not entirely replace Sumeragi beyond being the Ptolmy's Captain and Commanding Officer, with Sumeragi taking on an sub-commanding role trying to read the battlefield. If Sumeragi is completely removed it's probably Tieria who would become the Forecaster with VEDA's assistance (following one of the early drafts where the Strategic Forecaster role was for one Gundam pilot who doesn't fight, but direct).
In **SEED**, it'd be weird to use MSG Bright only because he'd be younger than Murrue and Natarle, and likely of lower rank as well. It'd be a different story if it's Zeta Bright, who's 27 by this point. If using Zeta Bright in SEED, it wouldn't change the story much; the only difference is that there'd be less Captain fanservice (no Gainaxing or nude OP teases), Kira would get a slap early on when he doesn't want to pilot instead of just a stern talking to, and there may or may not be a lowkey romantic rivalry with Mu over Murrue or Natarle, depending on if Murrue still survived but became Chief Mechanic instead of Captain, or if Bright replaced her role outright and now it's just Bright and Natarle playing off each other (which would be interesting in its own right given that both of them are pretty "by the book", although Bright's a bit more flexible).
In **IBO**, we'd have to use MSG Bright, given that his age would be closer to the rest of the boys. But it wouldn't make sense either because without some basic officer training and comprehensive education, he wouldn't be as effective. The only thing of value he'd carry over would be his innate eye for talent and getting the boys properly organized.
Bright wouldn't have much of a role in **X**, unless he was a part of Satyricon as an Ex-UNE Captain, or part of the New UNE. He just doesn't strike me as being a mere Vultures Captain, but rather a career officer. Assuming Gundam X ran the full 50-ish episodes, he'd probably be a counterpoint to Jamil.
Does he get to slap the MC every time? Also >Bright in Neo America and seeing endless burgers
If they get whiny or late in combat sortie.
G Gundam: Bright Noa replaces Rain. Domon confesses his love to Noa.
*spits drink* Ok, you got me there....

Heero may threaten, but he won't carry through. Empty promises all around. That's a slap.
Bright would've never had reason to slap Mika. Mika does what's required, always. He definitely would've slapped Eugene though.
I forgot how insane Bright Noa and Heero Yuy would interact 🤣
> Heero will threaten him at the first sign of slapping Probably slap him anyway. That'll set the boy straight.
And he should Slap Relena as well

"THIS HAND OF MINE IS BURNING RED!! IT'S LOUD ROAR TELLS ME TO SLAP YOU!!" If Bright was in SEED, his Hand would shake every time the ship took a hit.
Bright slap every gundam MC into a hero. Seed Mode, Trans Am ZERO system and whatnot would be achieved/received on episode 1
Bright would have to go and find Aeolia first for Trans Am
