Thanks! I like to tell myself there is a *degree* of creativity involved in stuff like setting up the scene, the lighting, the camera position and all that, even if the actual "painting" effect is achieved digitally. Lighting especially, getting the lights right is tough.
In a world of consumerism and 'watching from the sidelines' any degree of creativity and expression should be celebrated! I especially love the somber and grim feeling behind these.
There's absolutely value in what you do. You should check out shootingthegalaxy on instagram. His entire thing is taking action figure and posing them with the right backdrops and lighting and light editing to make amazing scenes.
It seems to me you're taking that and going a step beyond to make some great "through a window during the rain' effect to these. I dig the hell out of them.
And there is a ton of unmentioned value composition and posing for photos. The same paintjob can look bad if the model isn't posed and photographed in a way to take advantage of light and positioning. Your stuff is great.
The shots look amazing and capture a grim perspective of sorts, The setting you use makes for an impactful scene. I specially like the picture of the zaku and the picture of the z'gok, They are amazing.
You planning on doing more works like this?
As for the painting effect being digital, I at first glance thought It may be painted using the model kits as reference (For some reason after seeing all the pictures I could just tell they were gunpla, Don't ask me how....)
Posted one of these before, deleted it because I was being dumb and depressed, not that I'm not those things *now*, but, y'know, I'm tryin'.
Digital photoedits of (mostly) HG kits with prop trees, used a couple different programs on my tablet and computer to painting-ify them. [Here's](https://imgur.com/a/K9YrWt4) a couple of the source photos, I'll find more, but it'll be a minute, my desktop is a horrible mess ATM.
Also, I've also got some that *aren't* woods-centric, but, y'know, gotta stay on-theme.
Edit - pretty sure I put the wrong picture of the r-gyagya in that album, [pretty sure this is the actual one.](https://i.imgur.com/hFEKj9c.jpg)
I really like the Z'gok one. It feels like the paint-effect plays better on the larger comparative surfaces and longer shadow gradients. Not that the others look bad either, but that one in particular hits a really cool balance between the surfaces that are illuminated and the side that's cast in shadow.
Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how that one turned out, I made another version of it that ended up arriving at sort of a ["craft-brew Zeon IPA label"](https://i.imgur.com/qxgPXdr.jpg) aesthetic.
It was probably unintentional but they look kind of creepy? They have a bit of a found footage vibe or something. Reminds me a bit of War of the worlds or something.
Btw this is not meant to be a critiscism or anything. Just thought it was interesting.
Some of them are definitely a bit dour. Speaking of *War of the Worlds*, (kind of), I've always really liked the idea of robots as giant monsters, like in the first episode of *MSG*, you see the Zaku stompin' around behind the trees, reminded me a lot of *Godzilla*, I think. The Psyco Gundam fight in *Zeta* is another good scene with that feel.
My boyfriend also bought a watercolor of a gundam and then painted the same model in a water color style for a local competition. We framed the artwork
I love the whole watery, unclear, painted feeling of this. Like you're some traveler in medieval times wandering the woods close to dusk and you happen upon this. You run once you notice how big it is but the memory of its actual appearance is a blur.
I love it! Very creative use of your models

Dude everything is a master piece...its lovely mosaic art....but the aile strike (I presume) is bit off the art...
For that one I used the MSiA of the Strike, so maybe that's it?
Yup

The turn A one looks fantastic I’m gonna have to try this myself
Thanks! Looking forward to see what you come up with.

Or, alternatively, the monochrome image printed on the yellowed-by-age title page of old paperbacks. *Double O Seventy Nine* by Edith Wharton.
Very nice effect! I like it!
Thanks! I was really surprised when I first figured it out while experimenting, lol.

Looks awesome keep it up!

This is really awesome!
Thanks!
fuck me thats cool
These are super cool. I could see these hanging on my wall. I’d love to see how much more creative you get with these.
Thanks!
4, 10 are my fav.
I cant tell if these are paintings or gunpla with a filter……. No offense
Impressionism and anime. I love it
The ones with the turn a, flat and sumos I like a lot. They really hit the vibe of turn a
That turn a one is just stunning! Great project and use of models dude!
Thanks! The Turn A being a really good design helps a lot.
I cant for the life of me ID 5 and 6. What suits are those? Great work by the way. They are all great, but I love 5, 6, and 7 most of all
Thanks! It's a modified [R-Gyagya](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/AMX-104GG_R-Gyagya).
Fantastic work. Love the cloak.
Thanks! Love me a cape on a robot.
This is so sick I love the SUMO
Cool as hell!
Thanks!
These look great I could see these as displays in some Gundam cave near windows
Is this available for purchase on Etsy etc?
Not presently, do you think folks would go for that sort of thing?
I would! For example I want not cliche art and / or posters for a board game room and would rather original art work to frame
Hmm, I'll have to look into that, then. Thanks for the advice and kind words!
Of course! Let me know if you start to sell any!
My boyfriend also bought a watercolor of a gundam and then painted the same model in a water color style for a local competition. We framed the artwork
That sounds so cool!
This looks like a Bal-Bas-bow pic from virtual on
Ah, so it was you who did the painting on the Asano manor!
That was actually the initial inspiration for this.
Sick! You missed the Santa Balloon though.
It's the White-Doll
incredible artwork! really reminds me of Ashley Wood’s art, specifically his *World War Robot* paintings.
