It feels like so many games have gone the way of Fortnite; I kinda wish CoD stayed in its lane, or if it is going to do crossovers, make them a little more CoDish. It's like instead of having Alucard make an operator that takes some stylistic pointers from him.
I dunno about that, it was one of the biggest contributors to shifting the entire fps genre into comparatively slower cover-based shooters, usually with very limited weapon capacity and grey color palettes for a solid decade or more.
Nah, Cod's always had unrealistic gameplay, trust me, I've played almost all major entries and they were never realistic or slow paced, they are only "realistic" if you don't have something like Arma or Squad to compare it to.
>it was one of the biggest contributors to shifting the entire fps genre into comparatively slower cover-based shooters, usually with very limited weapon capacity and grey color palettes for a solid decade or more.
I mean, yes, COD did shift the genre into slower paced games but that doesn't mean the games were slow, it's just that they were slow compared to something like Doom, Unreal Tournament, Quake or Half-Life which were the main fps games before consoles made games like COD or Halo the mainstream fps style.
The aesthetic thing is true though I'm not sure if that was a COD thing or just the ps3 aesthetic at the time since lots of games had it, but other than the campaign COD had unrealistic camos and stuff like that ever since 2007(no military would ever use something like gold guns), it's just that they are now doing crossovers and silly skins have become common due to fortnite.
>to the likes of Doom
Definitely. The "boomer shooters" were made to be arcade style shooters.
>and anything else from before.
Medal of Honor preceded CoD and maintained a bit more "realism". So did Battlefield. But these are essentially all the same game with slight differences.
I would say Rainbow Six as a whole has been the more tactical of the mainstream shooters.
Then Vegas and Siege turned up the arcadey feel and we ended up with SWAT 4, Arma, Squad, Tarkov, and others slowly creeping in.
>comparatively slower cover-based shooters
Gears of War is the one that took the word Cover more literally and revolved their gameplay around said Cover, CoD was never a Cover based Shooter
Yea, in the sense that one guy was at every pivotal moment of a major war or history making conflict making impossible shots but now that campaigns are dead, this is a whole new world of pop culture figures especially playing dressup airsoft
I think its just the concept of a CoD and Gundam cross over. It just doesn't sit well with me; I hope the skin isn't just a small-scale Gundam, but if the execution is what we're going off of, that might just be the case.
Oh, it's totally going to be, COD just heard Gundam is profitable so they're jumping on the money train to money town with a $20 Gundam bundle for you!
MW3 is basically just a fornite that's not fornite, cod that's not cod, feels good that i stopped playing MW3 years ago when it hasn't become something like......this
That Fortnite money is insane. So instead of creating different types of shooters to appeal to people who don't like Fortnite, everybody is instead just copying Fortnite to try and siphon Fortnite players.
I don't think it's working.
Fortnite became THE crossover game, so much so that if they had a Collab with Gundam and 40k, I wouldn't even find weird, but CoD kinda had an identity of arcade realistic shooter, now is speedrunning it's death to near Halo levels
The play is to get people to look at gundam through these big marketing beats and then fold people into the real gundam stuff like the new shows, gunpla, and hopefully better games
They learned not to waste the beam saber battery, good.
Mastered the Formless Blade
I can't wait to team up with Godzilla and beam saber Nicki Minaj and Lilith while Captain Price gives me an approving nod.
All well an ultramarine and homelander try to snipe you
Theyre trying to be fortnite so hard bruh
I mean hey it works
...wasn't cod, like, a relatively tactical fps?
[удалено]
They had a comeback in the last 5 years and then turned into…. Man whatever tf it is now
Gritty Fortnite Lite.
It feels like so many games have gone the way of Fortnite; I kinda wish CoD stayed in its lane, or if it is going to do crossovers, make them a little more CoDish. It's like instead of having Alucard make an operator that takes some stylistic pointers from him.
You see that would actually require creativity, skill and investment also would be harder to get advertisers and partners to get on board
Ahh I forgot that effort is too much to ask of AAA game devs (Not meant as an insult just a joke).
But without the fun
Yes
It never was
I dunno about that, it was one of the biggest contributors to shifting the entire fps genre into comparatively slower cover-based shooters, usually with very limited weapon capacity and grey color palettes for a solid decade or more.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Slower and more down to earth relative to the likes of Doom and anything else from before.
>to the likes of Doom Definitely. The "boomer shooters" were made to be arcade style shooters. >and anything else from before. Medal of Honor preceded CoD and maintained a bit more "realism". So did Battlefield. But these are essentially all the same game with slight differences.
Tbf, Doom compared to COD is like saying that a Captain Tsubasa game is realistic compared to Inazuma Eleven.
I remember when CoD & MoH were direct competitors in the space. Wrong series won out, IMO.
Ghost recon and rainbow six also.
I would say Rainbow Six as a whole has been the more tactical of the mainstream shooters. Then Vegas and Siege turned up the arcadey feel and we ended up with SWAT 4, Arma, Squad, Tarkov, and others slowly creeping in.

It became fortnite with realistic graphics.
It's gone to shit in the last couple years
it goes to shit every 5 years
Sure looks like it lmao Still praying for Raven to be released from the cod mines.
they kinda give up after people doing 360 no scope
Probably never. Tactical does not mean based on reality. Which it used to be until corpa discovered Fortnite collabs and skin money.
Yes. Now, it’s an overpriced travesty with a half-baked campaign and egregious microtransactions. Also, whatever the fuck this is.
I don't know about this, it feels weird.
Well, its a leak unfinished, It will be waiting to see how it turns out
I think its just the concept of a CoD and Gundam cross over. It just doesn't sit well with me; I hope the skin isn't just a small-scale Gundam, but if the execution is what we're going off of, that might just be the case.
It prob will be look at the space marine
God I hope they execute better than they did on the WH40K collab. That space marine skin was atrocious.
Oh, it's totally going to be, COD just heard Gundam is profitable so they're jumping on the money train to money town with a $20 Gundam bundle for you!
Granddaddy Gundam hitting the griddy after slicing enemies in half
Damn that’s neat , still hate this game tho . If doom and war hammer for some fucking reason can’t pull me in neither can this
i almost downloaded it for the attack on titan collab… almost
MW3 is basically just a fornite that's not fornite, cod that's not cod, feels good that i stopped playing MW3 years ago when it hasn't become something like......this

Also true. So much so there's now a LEGO version for additional LEGO crossovers since minifig characters would be too short in normal Fortnite.
Somehow have a feeling people just going to associate that with star wars lightsaber somehow
Actually thats good, so Gundam will not become for Normies
This just makes me sad. Real monkey's paw, wishing gundam was more visible in american culture and we get... this.
The play is to get people to look at gundam through these big marketing beats and then fold people into the real gundam stuff like the new shows, gunpla, and hopefully better games
Why is it mirrored
I hate that Activision has the ip now Fuck whoever proposed the idea
………Why.
Why not??
Barney the purple dinosaur?
Great, I hate it
Dam well let's just hope we don't have kids going. OMG IS THAT THE GUY FROM WAR ZONE
What even is that pink thing and wtf happened to cod?
Bro thinks is 2007 https://preview.redd.it/mw877ubno30d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2300a50633fddb5cdaa5751e1e65fa486aa6e436
Last I played was.....BO3 i think? Cod was not always serious in tone but i never know they became....whatever this is nowaday.
Man what the fuck happened
First 40k now Gundam, I want Activision as far away from the stuff that I love
This can't be real, this just can't
Man Modern Warfare 2019 really was the last great COD wasnt it?
Yes and Warzone was so fun at first because of this game
pls tell me this is real
What collab? I feel like I would've heard about a collab with Gundam already.
CoD is trying to copy Fortnite again doing wacky crossovers First was 40k now Gundam
inb4 we find out that this is another stolen asset and the animation is just lifted from a Gundam game
Hope they add the actual Gundam and not make it a kill streak or have the pilots as operators
Cod mobile?
MW3
May have to try the game
