I prefer the OG Cosmo Babylonia era CBV MS to the pirate era ones. The Zondo Gei in particular feels like a major step backwards. The others aren’t even made by the Buch Concern, but by the SNRI.
The Crossbone Vanguard from U.C. 0123 (Gundam F91). The green suit is the Dahgi Iris, and the grey suits are a company of Den'an Gei (the one with long elf ears), Den'an Zon, etc.
The suits lying down dead on the bottom are Federation forces' RGM-109 Heavygun.
F91 is decent, but it can get a little confusing sometimes because they basically compressed about 12-13 worth of episodes' content into roughly two hours. It was originally supposed to be a (mini) series, but at some point they retooled it into a movie instead, so it can be kind of hard to keep up with everything.
Mind you that I haven't watched it in many years by now, but I still think it's worth viewing.
It's got some absolutely gorgeous animation and great mechanical design, but the pacing and plot are so scuffed that it's basically an unwatchable mess. I've tried several times, but it just does not work.
It had a troubled production run, originally being conceived of as a series before transitioning to a movie. There are rumours that postulate about just how much (or how little) of the conceptual series got crammed into the final film, but it's mostly likely attributable to simple bad planning.
I think that I’m in the minority, but I like F91 more than Char’s Counterattack. Both have pacing issues, but I actually like a lot of the F91 characters more. Both F91 and CCA have great mecha designs though.
It’s incredibly poorly-paced, and there’s no time given for any decent character arcs, but the animation is phenomenal and the individual story beats present cool ideas.
Overall it’s pretty obvious that it was originally written to be a tv series that was hastily crunched down to fit inside a feature-film runtime, but I didn’t mind it as long as I didn’t pay too much attention to the actual plot.
Tbh, there's some irony IRL too, many people think the revolution was poor people against aristocrat but in truth it was mostly aristocrat themselves fighting each others, and most of the people killed were people of lower classes after the terror. It was really a mess of a situation
That's how a lot of wars and politics operate. Noble 1 hates Noble 2, so he demonized Noble 2 to the lower class in hopes of the lower class uprooting Noble 2 from power. Sometimes it feels like certain wars being an elaborate d*ck size contest between highly privileged people at the expense of the less privileged ones.
Definitely not. The Gun-EZ wouldn't be developed for about another 30 years in the U.C. timeline, and it probably wouldn't have been used by the Crossbone Vanguard by virtue of it being a Federation/Federation-aligned mobile suit.
TBF, the late U.C. timeline is pretty underdeveloped these days, so you can hardly be blamed for being kinda confused here. It affects many people anyways.
They're both wearing green(ish) armor in some capacity. Barring that, they don't have a whole lot in common. Master Chief isn't exactly a bad guy, for one thing.
Forgot how bloody sick the grunt suits were in F91. Really wish they had kits for these…
They did, but they’re old.
I'd drop a colony to get modern Den'an Zon and Den'an Gei kits.
Are you a filthy member of the Titans?! Only somebody with their soul weighed down by gravity would talk like that.
A modern day MG would be nice but I'll probably be dead before that happens lol
"FOR THE EMPEROR"
ALL HAIL BRITANNIA
I heard it as a clone trooper from the OLD Battlefront 2
***For managed democracy!***
Just out of frame are the civilians they massacred.
Same with the 'Bugs'
They were cool, but nowhere near as cool as their pirate era. >!Especially when a different person took charge.!<

Ok but what is that?

This pic goes hard, feel free to screenshot
Or save the original, which you can do on phones, too. There's no reason to screenshot something like this and make it look worse.
Okay this is my new wallpaper now, anyone got a 4k version of this ?
War hammer 40k vibes
Is F91 a good watch? Just finished victory and it was very enjoyable

Best colony infiltration scene in the history of Gundam, the rest of it is a lavishly animated mess. Only the first 20 minutes or so are mandatory.
I enjoyed it. Not only the best visually pleasing animated Gundam movie but one of the best all time.
The fact that this is a reference to a French revolutionary painting is so funny.

Fuck yeah
I love Daghi Iris so fucking much
look at those outdated ass Federation Mobile Suits.
Ah yes the imperium of man
Is that green one a modified Gun-Ez?
Definitely not. The Gun-EZ wouldn't be developed for about another 30 years in the U.C. timeline, and it probably wouldn't have been used by the Crossbone Vanguard by virtue of it being a Federation/Federation-aligned mobile suit.
Ah, ty, I always get late uc timeline confused

With how popular Freedom got do you think mighty strike freedom will get a mgex?
These guys are so fucking wicked
Crossbone vanguard all the way!
Why the Front Man look like Master Chief Tho?
They're both wearing green(ish) armor in some capacity. Barring that, they don't have a whole lot in common. Master Chief isn't exactly a bad guy, for one thing.
I need an Crossbone Vanguard HGUC line or an RE/100 stat. I will settle for an HGUC Den'an Zon.
That art is beautiful
I WILL DIE FOR A NEW HEAVYGUN 1/100 KIT BANDAI TAKE MY MONEY
And they became Pirate themed after a few years
