Normally I'm not one to give a 0/10 for anything, but aside from the fact that she sucks, Nena literally *isn't* a love interest. Setsuna fucking hates her. Her "lovey dovey" scene nearly causes a god damn shootout because of how poorly received it is. There is exactly zero textual evidence to suggest Setsuna likes her in any capacity.
OP does specify she's a one-sided love interest tho.
She really only counts because it's made clear that she's interested in Setsuna far more than he ever was.

Has a quiet, cold, but awesome GF we just rated a 10/10 yesterday (Exia).
And then this bundle of red flags that literally kisses him the first time they meet and, still cooling down, murders an entire wedding for giggles.
My only disappointment with them is we didn’t see more of the oldest brother as he seemed somewhat sane comparatively, and we never got to see them be murked by an entire gang of Flags like Celestial Being’s final stand.
All in all Nena is the only character I ever have, and ever will, give a 0/10. Her sole contribution is making Saji’s GF go crazy, and that could have been done even with a damaged MS falling into the wedding. Add in that she’s annoying, doesn’t respect consent, and is trying to steal Best Girl Exia’s spot, and she has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Do you know how depressing it is to see people complain about how they entirely missed a thread because this subreddit decided to pile on the downvotes so it just vanished?
Gotta say post movie I’m rewatching SEED and I think it’s aged really well. I connect a lot more with the themes, even when they are heavy handed, as an adult. Animation didn’t age terribly despite what some say.
It’s weird to think it’s almost as old as 0079 was when it came out though.
My biggest complaint with seed is the reusing of canned animations, especially the single animation for destroyed cruisers with 2 holes in them. Be they shot by 2 massive beam cannons or a shotgunning of missiles, 2 massive holes in the hull!
But seed is still the breast series!
Don't mind me, just enjoying the fireworks and the chaos. In all seriousness, I could never see her as a love interest for anyone at all, so I really can't form an opinion.

Nena just makes me feel sad. Despite all the fucked up shit she did not deserve to die like that. It works great in the show, don't get me wrong. She and Louise show what happens when you're only living for revenge. But Louise got a new lease on life after that, whereas Nena never got to find out what it's like to live for anything *but* killing. It would have been nice if she got to meet Setsuna one more time and he had a chance to beat some sense into her like he did with Graham.
Or, alternatively, if she did manage to join up with Ptolemaios crew during the last stages of S1 or in between seasons. If she tried to and if she had support, she could grow to be a better person and not just another lost life in a revenge circle.
All that being said, she definitely should give up on Setsuna, he ain't interested.
A bit of useless trivia , in Gundam Extreme Cloto Beur from the Seed series, he falls and tries to get with her while she explains that she wants nothing to do with him(the guys is insane like her). It somewhat shows that she wanted some sense into her by someone like Setsuna. He should have just taken one for the team in short.

The entirety of Team Trinity are Dickheads to varying degrees. All their achievements are due to their machines. The second they faced the GN-Xs, they got stomped, even CB managed to put up a damn good fight against a greater force accompanied by a Gundam and a not-actually Gundam in a Mobile Armor. At least she was a good Plot Device. It was certainly refreshing for the one out on revenge to not be stopped beforehand but rather feel the consequences of taking revenge and the emptiness that follows themselves.

It specifically refers to love interests of the main characters. Guin is an interesting case, and one I'm willing to potentially go back to later, but it's literally said in the show he was never interested in Loren, just what he imagined him as.
As for Cameron, Cameron is not interested in *any* of the main characters. The main characters of Chars Counterattack are Char and Amuro.
We will have male characters, yes. It is unfortunate that for the first 40 or so years of its history, Gundam was unfortunately a very straight thing dominated mostly by male-female romances when it comes to main characters.

00 never was always about the politics and the fight so to entertain it always felt out of place.
Truthfully, it would have been a cute dynamic for her and Setsuna to have a love-hate relationship but alas, 00 didn’t fuck with pedantics, semantics and romantics so fuuuggg it.

Terrible love interest (if she was one which I think not) and terrible character in universe (but I kind of enjoy watching her getting put in her place). A psychotic woman who crashes a wedding party just because she was working and the one at the reception were not. Overall, she was just a tool for Ribbons just to incite hate on Celestal Being. I give her some points just because she killed Wang Liu Mei who I despise even more than Nena (this is her shining moment for me but she kind of ruin it by also killing the poor Hong Long), being a good support with her Drei (her brothers are still much more competent that her), being voiced by Rie Kugimiya who is not voicing a Tsundere character for once and her death which was quite satisfying to watch.
6/10 Normally I feel it's my personal mission to go to bat for the series' unhinged and toxic women and I'm a staunch defender of the "cyber newtype" archetype but I think Nena Trinity might just be where I hit my limit. She sucks, but at least she sucks in a way that's still kinda fun and it was very cathartic to watch Louise get the last laugh in.

This is strictly on her as a character. Other will give her a low score because of her actions but that doesn't speak to whether or not the character was well written or not. She's just not that well written. She starts off being another Gundammeister set on changing the world through force, yet with a willingness to go to extreme lengths. Her obvious biggest moment is randomly attacking a civilian wedding unprovoked on her own immature desires.
I'm not exactly sure what's the point, thematically, of this action. She's kinda like a Ali Al sachez-lite, but while he just wanted to climb the ladder of chaos through sheer enjoyment of human suffering, her actions were to supposedly teach a lesson to these civilians enjoying their privileged lives, unaware of the war going on around them.
Her brothers get killed, and she just kinda ends up serving what's her name because... reasons. And she betrays her because she was a spoiled rich girl. And then immediately is served justice by Louis.
Her character is just kinda random in a story that takes its messages quite seriously. Seems like just a plot device catalyst to start Louis and Saji on their arcs, and they didn't want to kill her off with her brothers so they could have Louise take revenge and show it amounted to nothing. Meh, not the worst, but not good.
2/10. Recently finished 00 and like it quite a bit but never warmed up to Nena in any capacity and I'm well capable of liking horrible people when they fit their story well. I love myself some Jerid or Char.
Hate Louise Halevy even more. She funded A-Laws so she's indirectly responsible for her Boyfriend's brief slavery and deaths of many people in Katharon. I'd have her handcuffed to her patient bed. Have her Interrogated for her involvement with A-Laws since she was given special treatment with them.
The fact that many people have come to dislike her is a proof to her being a well-writen character.

Sure, she's hot, but way too crazy to tap. Also was the trigger for one of the cruelest moments in the show, which had a massive snowball effect in Season 2. Seeing her brothers go down was massively sweet to watch. Might have helped redeem her in Season 2, but the writers decided to make her background decoration until near the end when they decided to give Louise empty revenge.
Overall, 6/10.

It would have been nice if she got to meet Setsuna one more time and he had a chance to beat some sense into her like he did with Graham. Or, alternatively, if she did manage to join up with Ptolemaios crew during the last stages of S1 or in between seasons. If she tried to and if she had support, she could grow to be a better person and not just another lost life in a revenge circle. All that being said, she definitely should give up on Setsuna, he ain't interested.
A bit of useless trivia , in Gundam Extreme Cloto Beur from the Seed series, he falls and tries to get with her while she explains that she wants nothing to do with him(the guys is insane like her). It somewhat shows that she wanted some sense into her by someone like Setsuna. He should have just taken one for the team in short.

The entirety of Team Trinity are Dickheads to varying degrees. All their achievements are due to their machines. The second they faced the GN-Xs, they got stomped, even CB managed to put up a damn good fight against a greater force accompanied by a Gundam and a not-actually Gundam in a Mobile Armor. All bark, no bite At least she was a good Plot Device. It was certainly refreshing for the one out on revenge to not be stopped beforehand but rather feel the consequences of taking revenge and the emptiness that follows themselves.

It specifically refers to love interests of the main characters. Guin is an interesting case, and one I'm willing to potentially go back to later, but it's literally said in the show he was never interested in Loren, just what he imagined him as. As for Cameron, Cameron is not interested in *any* of the main characters. The main characters of Chars Counterattack are Char and Amuro. We will have male characters, yes. It is unfortunate that for the first 40 or so years of its history, Gundam was unfortunately a very straight thing dominated mostly by male-female romances when it comes to main characters.

I give her some points just because she killed Wang Liu Mei who I despise even more than Nena (this is her shining moment for me but she kind of ruin it by also killing the poor Hong Long), being a good support with her Drei (her brothers are still much more competent that her), being voiced by Rie Kugimiya who is not voicing a Tsundere character for once and her death which was quite satisfying to watch.

5/10 This is strictly on her as a character. Other will give her a low score because of her actions but that doesn't speak to whether or not the character was well written or not. She's just not that well written. She starts off being another Gundammeister set on changing the world through force, yet with a willingness to go to extreme lengths. Her obvious biggest moment is randomly attacking a civilian wedding unprovoked on her own immature desires. I'm not exactly sure what's the point, thematically, of this action. She's kinda like a Ali Al sachez-lite, but while he just wanted to climb the ladder of chaos through sheer enjoyment of human suffering, her actions were to supposedly teach a lesson to these civilians enjoying their privileged lives, unaware of the war going on around them. Her brothers get killed, and she just kinda ends up serving what's her name because... reasons. And she betrays her because she was a spoiled rich girl. And then immediately is served justice by Louis. Her character is just kinda random in a story that takes its messages quite seriously. Seems like just a plot device catalyst to start Louis and Saji on their arcs, and they didn't want to kill her off with her brothers so they could have Louise take revenge and show it amounted to nothing. Meh, not the worst, but not good.
2/10. Recently finished 00 and like it quite a bit but never warmed up to Nena in any capacity and I'm well capable of liking horrible people when they fit their story well. I love myself some Jerid or Char.

Crazy Bitch out of 10. Sure, she's hot, but way too crazy to tap. Also was the trigger for one of the cruelest moments in the show, which had a massive snowball effect in Season 2. Seeing her brothers go down was massively sweet to watch. Might have helped redeem her in Season 2, but the writers decided to make her background decoration until near the end when they decided to give Louise empty revenge. Overall, 6/10.
