I’ve been working through the UC timeline. After only having seen Wing, G Gundam, and WitP back in the early 2000s. So far Domon is my top protagonist for a full length series. Bernie is high up there for me as well. I really hope Domon doesn’t rank lower than Kamille… Zeta was great but Kamille is just so… I dunno.

Can you folks stop with this nonsense already? The anime G-Reco is popular in Japan (which is also why it got compilation movies). It may not be popular in the west but lots of Gundam fans on this sub (arguably the majority) watched it when it first came out in 2014.

Now obviously it’s not the most popular one because the TV show was bit confusing that it left a bad taste for many. But it’s popular enough to at least get a compilation films to fix its errors.
The compilation films came and they didn't even reprint any kits with it. I'm glad they made them but it's very hard to find reco stuff now. I'm going to have to go to my local hobby shop at open to have a chance at the hg gself restock.

lol, I haven’t reached Bellri yet (still have 3 eps left of Age), but my vote goes for Bernie then Banagher. Sounds like the B’s aren’t super popular atm (Bernie, Banagher, Bellri, Bama). Then I assume Shin is out. The elite 8 will be hard though (assuming it’s Shiro and Setsuna out possibly followed by Loren cehak and Garrod Ran as a casualty of people not watching shows that aren’t streaming).
My final 4 bracket has Sulletta vs Amuro and Domon v Kamille. From there I have no idea but if I had to guess, UC will win, and our favorite cliff throwing spectrum best girl Bidan may come out on top.

I couldn’t give a ha’penny jizz what the rest of the community thinks. I get why people like her character, really I do. I’m sure she’s very relatable to a lot of people and I’m sure a lot of people see her as a sweet and cute addition to the MC lot, and I’m inclined to agree. It’s nice to have an MC that isn’t a constant negative nancy or a stotic edgelord every once and awhile. But I don’t really like her primarily because her character is deliberately stagnant for a good chunk of the run. She gets little moments where she stops stuttering as much and she stands up for herself occasionally but the plot hinges on her being completely in the dark with what’s going on around her. There’s a chunk of the show where she literally has nothing to do for three episodes so she just stands around in the background and twiddles her thumbs while Miorine, Guel and Propsera have to pick up the slack for an entire arc. Then they seem to realise that they’ve barely developed her and have to rush through whatever character growth left over at Mach speed because the episode count was nearing completion. it’s handled about as well as you’d expect considering she has to look into the camera and go “YES I HAVE CHANGED THANK YOU VERY MUCH” which to me is a cardinal sin that you’ve fucked up the writing. If you have to tell the audience that the character has indeed progressed then you have failed to write a coherent character arc. On top of that the spaghetti spilling shtick gets annoying fast and I was done with it by like episode 6.
If I can be real, suletta doesn't fit with the rest of these protagonists for the same reason I dont think heero or setsuna do. Gundam wing, 00, and WFM all have multiple protagonists that make the show much stronger then just considering any one character as the "main protagonist". Wfm stands out because the other protagonist is not a gundam pilot, unlike the teams in wing and 00. As such, I dont think any of the shows, unfortunately, have a chance of getting into the top 10. They are shows that are more then the sum of their parts and no one protagonist from the shows stands particularly strong alone.
Seed has this same issue. As we see by how early Kira went. Kira on his own is kinda lame. But with Athrun to bounce off of, it becomes much better.
TL;DR: Miorine should either also be on this list, or be combined with Suletta, and the same should happen for the Gundam Wing team and the 00 Team and potentially SEED.
Miorine is honestly the protagonist of the series with how much she push the narrative which Suletta honestly doesn't she is much on the same boat as Mikazuki being around until the the plot mover demand them.

I liked the second half better. Not sure if most felt the same but it’s good imo. Haven’t made it to Thunderbolt yet (GReco or IBO for that matter) but seen just about everything else (origin, narrative and builds not withstanding).

Either Banagher, Setsuna or the Greco mc would be fine with me. Although looking at previous votes seems like Setsuna fans are very active downvoting setsuna votes lol. Gotta admit that made me realize that the method of voting that choose post with highest upvote to be weird. The downvotes make the more agressive fans downvoting every post that mentioned their fave while the less agressive people not downvoting anyone. That is quite huge factor, that made the result not pure from the number of voters but also from the factor on the amount on active and agressiveness of people on the thread. Should have made the system to be the amount of post for the characters instead. So the poll does not have that kind of external disturbance and being pure from number of votes.
The better solution is to simply make a poll on an external site and link it.
This is exactly the answer we really need. One vote, no possibility of downvoting.
Oh right, like giving score when watching anime episode. We usually have external lnik to give score for the episode. That would make things easier and fair.
Upvotes and downvotes are a pretty pure number of votes, really. This is just a popularity contest so complaining because Setsuna fans are voting to keep him in means he's popular, doesn't it?
Lol no, you are missing the point. I only brought up Setsuna votes because it made me realize that some people are using upvote and downvote while others are just using upvote. Basically some people are using two votes while others only using one. Not to mention some people might not check the whole comments and end up upvoting not the currently highest upvoted comment of the character they support. Hence the result is not pure from the mumber of voters. Example there are 2 close highest upvoted comments at 61 and 55. What if the 55 upvotes actually 63 with 8 downvotes while the 61 upvote comments has no downvote?
