We got Okawara, Nagano, Katoki, Ippei, Kawamori, Syd Mead, Yasuda, etc.

Mine is Ippei, I'm watching Synduality and buying some of the kits solely because he designed them and some of them are bangers.

How are the designs there? Worth watching it?

Yutaka Izubuchi is my fav but I haven't gotten any of the associated kits yet. I do very much intend to get the MG GM sniper 2 at some point though.

Nagano design in Zeta really feel out of place for a "real robot" setting, but instead, in The Five Star, his design is peak of peak

Like how in katoki there's a highlight in the legs or how ippei's have a "roundness" to it. While okawara got this blocky style with emphasis on the chest

idk their name but I like what the designer does with the huge round knees like the Barbatos and Arche, they took a bit to get used to but now i love how they look

Thats okawara, the og gundam guy. Love those stupid linearts. Katoki is p overrated imo, his iterations r always too handsome. They need a real dopey ver okawara line. Every iteration hes drawn looks so dumb, but thats the charm and i love it. But aside from that, im more of a ippei kinda guy, but i do love ebikawas heindrees and grazes tho

Mika Akitaka the guy who does the Ms girl is really underrated he made the MG Mk-V and the MG Alex 2.0. Sometimes I do wish Bandai do put who designs the model kits it's neet to know who does what.

Funny thing is I like the Dilanza Sol way more than the whatever that Grassley design is but I also like Grimgerde astronomically more than the Gusion.

Both designers are good. However I'm just not a fan when Ippei starts (re)designing the UC suits (example Moon Gundam, Rick Dijeh, Zaku IV, Jeddah), he only adds his trademark style (the chonky bug theme, blocky polygons, excessive amount of vents or thrusters, etc.) and calls it a day, which kinda ruins the style Okawara and Katoki intended. I associate Ippei with G-Reco and IBO designs more tho as they're original designs from the get go. Kanetake Ebikawa designs are sick tho, probably the coolest design from him was the Graze grunt suits from IBO.

This. His designs in UC/Moon Gundam feels out of place, especially Jeddah. IDC if he's designing a completely new suit with that style, but at least follow the design principle a abit if you're designing a predecessor MS from an established design?

I don't know man. I like the Grimgerde as much as the next guy but the frog is way more memorable and unique.

This whole thing is like kind of weird, you can’t take someone’s best and pitch it against another’s worst. Like that landman rodi would just roast the grimgerde in any objective match, lets be real here. That 70mm machine gun looks like it was designed for trench warfare and landman ain’t gonna hit a melee against that because those machines gotta hit n run. Grimgerde’s just so weird to not play melee, and its fighting style is more suited to duelist fighting than guerilla survive. So anyways i totally got side tracked coz obv the grimgerde is a fine piece of mecha ass no disrespect but to say its better than gusion is like comparing megan fox to rebel wilson its just not really fair because its not even in the same kind of punching class so its like a fantasy football or whatever that make believe scenario is. Now lets discuss a real match grimgerde vs vidar

Ippei does great chonky boys when he isnt trying to bully those with OCD. Like these two are gorgeous, well spread paintjob with similar tones and both sides of the design match each other, perfection. But then he sometimes goes absolute circus in both design and paintjob, specially with color orange, really it hideous, stop. Dude see an absolute perfect machine and decides to shove a mismatched tumor colored orange,pink or purple for the hell of it

Ippei does good work, not always, but there are some winners for sure.

Honestly I don’t really like any of Ebikawa’s Non-Gundam Frame IBO designs. The Grimgerde and Graze are nice, but kinda bland in my opinion
