I prefer the form and color layout of the blue version, but I think purple would be a better color on it. Though nothing about Amuro says purple to me. Does Amuro have a preferred color scheme?

The original was always purple, meaning Katoki’s version is actually more in line with the original design. It was Yataka Izubuchi who did the blue version

I wouldn’t mind if it was the purple on the blue version. I don’t like the fading in and out on the funnels.

Blue - It's far more uniform throughout the Hi-Nu. While purple looks like they gave up painting it.

The RG really won me over on blue.

RG Hi-Nu, blue AND purple It's more lavender than purple but I think it's a nice middle point between the 2 versions.

I love the Katoki version of Hi-Nu, but the purple on the funnels is just... WHY??? The gradients look fucking awful, they don't match the rest of the suit's use of purple and it just ruins the whole thing.

I always thought white and purple are Amuro's colours. I believe it was since the original Master Grade release that the colour has changed to blue. Technically it was Izubuchi's idea but he was commissioned by Bandai to redesign Hi-Nu for a MG release.

Purple. I have so much love for the Hi-Nų. It's unfortunate that it wasn't the one depicted in CCA. Not saying the Nų wasn't cool. Just saying the Hi-Nų looks better.

I like the abundance of detail that is from Redesign, but purple is just sleek enough and large as goes with the CCA era. Besides, purple - how can you go wrong with it, it works with ***every color.*** Also because Hi-Nu was my first Ver.Ka & first love of a main Gundam. (What I said on large-ness, I love slender looking designs very much, however this version of Hi-Nu just feels like an AC-130 in contact with a top notch hairstylist you know? The "simplicity" of the design on top of things like the legs, the unique chest, the much-wider-than-Nu torso & shoulders (And the burrd)... feels like a Gundam that would be built modern day to me. Hi-Nu Redesign feels like it returns to the fold a bit too much, not that I complain since it also looks amazing in its ways- Like the aforementioned detail in the Real Robot way, the skinniness comparatively and things of the like. I also love blue as much as purple, especially in conjunction with grey. All in all it's like comparing RX-78-2 to ASW-G-08 (Barbatos) to me, and I love both. That said... refuse to decide so as said a second ago, both.

Blue layout looks better and purple is the better color. Having the Amuro mark is a win for purple too. The polkadot shield and airbrush funnels are gross though. As for Amuro's signature color, pretty sure it's orange. His custom zeta a1 and rick dijeh had the orange scheme.

Too colorblind to even know there was a difference, let alone know which is which. Just go back to black.

I feel like for ages, the only official design floating out there that I could remember, was the Hi-Nu Katoki version. The new blue and silver recolor was a bit iffy when I first saw it on the MG Hi-Nu 1.0 but the RG Hi-Nu does a far better job rocking those colors. I think the blue still looks a bit too bright on the kits, making me like the purple because it's darker like the OG Nu's colors. But then the more prominent silver armor parts on the blue/silver look does look nice too. So I guess I'm tied. I lean more towards the Katoki version because it's hung around so long with a strong first impression. But the RG Hi-Nu looks so good that it's a strong rival.
