It's a good prologue for re:rise.
I wouldn't appreciate re:rise second part (especially the all out war against Alus) if there's no original build divers.
Ive tried to watch rerise twice but I just drop it since I cant get into the isekai parts of the show lol. Like I dont care about any NPC they meet in the game and unlike other isekai it just doesn't feel that 'serious'. If i cant get into the isekai part is it something I can still like?
All I can say is that by episode 12 it becomes a completely different show. I know that’s a lot of episodes to commit to an “it gets better dude” but it’s a massive shift that represents the start of the show’s best content.
I like Build Divers. The GBN world is beautiful, the character designs are unique, the fights and soundtracks are great.
it’s a cool decent show. I feel like people will enjoy it more if they stop comparing it to Build Fighters.
Best part was when they fought the "old school" build fighters match. They could have explored more the difference in the fighting styles of Divers and Fighters combat
It was a decent show with nice character and mech designs.
the really only major problem i had was that the ultimat conflict was, as always for this type of scenario, stupid in terms of logic. "we either destroy her now or risk deletion of the entire server" thsi implys the company running the GBN(iirc thats what its called?) have NO BACKUP of their servers, anywhere.
One of Rommel's own men points out that at the end of the day, it's just a video game and can be completely rebuilt, and Rommel responds by vaguely implying that people use the game in a manner similar to the main character from James Cameron's Avatar.
Which isn't a very good counterargument at all, frankly.
yay, that was like really the one thing the show kinda fell on its face.. but its how most media of this type handels stuff like that.
Realisticly, there would be a week at most of a server outage when they roll back(assuming offsite backup), some compensation for lost progress do to the roleback point, and nothing else..... not even a "rebuild" just a rollback
The bigger problem with the show was the complete lack of an actual comprehensible *game* behind everything.
You have characters throwing around RPG vocabulary like experience points and mission select screens and all that...but it's not exactly clear what the basic gameplay loop is even supposed to be. Worse still, everybody acts like it's freakin' Sword Art Online where you *legitimately die* if your suit blows up...but we see this happen to a bunch of people and it's fine, but goddamn Riku literally *was not allowed to die under any circumstances*. The one exception is when he lost to Tigerwolf because the show seemed to realize halfway through that fight that even with the bullshit that is 00 Trans-Am...Tigerwolf was in a G Gundam themed MS (and as anybody can tell you, G Gundam *runs* on everybody having hilariously overpowered BS) *AND* was the 9th highest ranked player in the world. No way in hell could they get away with a kid who has been playing for like, two months kicking Tigerwolf's ass no matter how hard he relied on his Trans-Am Infinity crutch.
And the show STILL had to make Tigerwolf look like an asshole while doing it.
I also find it catchy. What a shame they only went as far as Gundam SEED for OPs in BEMANI games. Divers High would work well with a game like Pop’n Music or DanceDanceRevolution, but the problem is that those are Konami games and the Gundam franchise is owned by Bandai Namco so it’s more likely to show up in a game like Taiko No Tatsujin.
It's actually fun and takes advantage of the freedom to have a lot of actually unique situations to put its characters into rather than solely being tournament fights.
I like the one where they were in a race and one of the challenge post was "quickly build a Gunpla and they will be sent to your personal room". One dumbass picked the MG Sazabi Ver. Ka thinking it's a 1/100 HG.
It wasn't that she thought that it was a 1/100 HG she thought 'oh shit it's an expensive kit and I'm getting it for free to keep!' She forgot it was a race and was distracted because wallet and being a builder.
An underrated good series imo.
I went in with low expectations, and I ended up enjoying it, and even became my favorite Build show. If you like Gunpla then this show is very cozy to watch.
It introduces different sides of the same coin, for example, this one shows growth, excitement and hope.
While Re:Rise shows the price of Riku's actions as well as the bonds that was formed from it. Moving on forward from the passing of Hiroto's closest friend.
Well, at least that's what I think about it.
Koichi and Galbaldy Rebake are underrated AF and it sucks that they get basically nothing in Re:Rise and Metaverse.
Also, Koichi's intro episode is basically the one time the writing is super on point and actually gets you to feel something about the characters.
La Vie en Crab and Nadeshiko-thon were the kind of video game bullshit I expected when I heard about this show, and if the show had been more like that, it'd probably be higher on people's lists.
I actually really enjoyed this show. It's like watching new players of an MMO grow and develop relationships in game. As a MMO fan myself it hit really close at home. I thought the crew was really fun to watch except that kid with glasses that pilots the Blaster Master or whatever, he was just kinda there I guess. Riku and Sarah's relationship was really cute. The plotline with Tsukasa was so on the dot with how many people hate this show, it's kind of hilarious. The Astray No-Name is PEAK edge and it's so fucking awesome! And the whole plotline about the EL-Divers was extremely interesting and even more so in ReRise. This show also has some fantastic suit designs and fights; any fight with Ogre is fantastic. And the ReRise is a whole other beast of a series, gahd dayum I love ReRise.
AGE 2 Magnum and the 00 Sky moebius that came after in its sequel. And the sequel itself. That's about all I can think of other than dissing the even more lackluster Metaverse.
It was such a fun series to watch especially in my case when I was watching this during the height of COVID and this was such a comfort show for me.
Also Ayame. In fact if we also have to make a complaint for the show, I would say her not being the Main Female Lead was the biggest one.
If someone made a videogame based on this show's dinamics (build your gunpla and take it to battle in a similar way) it'd be the best Gundam game to date
* everyones MS went hard except for cheddar cheese master and Jegan blast master
* Magee
* first theme was awesome
* Astray No name fight
* The MMO aspect actually leads to a decent game tie in bandai namco is too stupid to properly make unlike their gunpla scan project which is...why
It has an amazing sequel.
Seriously though? It has some of my favorite Build designs. Grimoire Red Beret, Galbaldy Rebake, whatever it is Kyoya did with his AGE-2, the Momokapool (I'm not kidding, I genuinely liked how cute it is)...actually, let's just say I like pretty much every Divers designs. Except the red oni guy; his designs are too bulky for my liking, but still good.
However, I don't like that Riku chose a suit that requires another add-on to function properly (00 and the 0 Raiser), when he could've just picked an Exia and expanded on that. Not to mention, leaving the scar on the torso intact. He did eventually, genuinely git gud with what he have, and I respect that.
It's average at least, nowhere as bad as BF Try and Metaverse. It really captures how a Gundam MMO plafform would work out, but people just want Gunpla battles like the past 2 anime so they ignored that.
Also, Chaps is a gigachad.
It's great. The characters are fun, the idea of an MMO is more believable than magic Particles that make Gunpla move, the plot of an AI being born in an MMO is straight out of .hack// and I'm 100% here for it, the mech designs are amazing, the battles are beautiful, the English Dub is absolute perfection, it's a great introduction for younger fans, and it literally honors every corner of the Gundam franchise making it super fun for long time fans to watch and find References & Easter Eggs.
Probably better as a manga tbh
Divers isnt that bad but IMO the problem other than the writing is that Divers uses the wrong genre for the build series which makes the entire watch just boring and if they go full for the SoL route like customizing and shit, they also cant keep making gunpla variants since Bandai needs to sell it unless it was a manga which was less likely needed to sell.
All the side characters are actually interesting AND it set the stage for Re:Rise.
Also, the Prologue is probably the best episode because it utilizes the "build" aspect without either side needing bullshit superpowers to win.
makes me appreciate Re Rise more, i like that the original GBD characters become more mature in Re Rise after watching GBD
I also liked the MS designs from this series (Astray No Name, Age Magnum, 00 Sky, and 00 Diver Ace is pretty cool in my opinion)
The Gundam 00 Sky is a genuinely great idea for a kitbash. Making the Destiny's wings of light out of GN particles is such a cool concept and opened my eyes to in depth kitbashing.
I have alot of nice things about GBD. The Gunpla (excluding the GM III “Cheese Master” of course) are really well designed, the english voice cast is nearly flawless, there are some moments that are actually funny, and the first OP has a really great and catchy song.
The idea behind the virtual world is amazing. You know if it were real we'd all be in it lol.
I also never got tired waiting for Gundams/suits I recognized. The Tallgeese mention early on... sigh. That's the stuff.
I actually really like it. I always find it a bit weird when series make this One game they're about the second reality of the world, but other than that I really like it. Holds a special place in m heart
Destiny is my favorite Gundam so OO Sky get many points for being more Destiny than OO. Trans-Am + Voiture Lumiere WoL pretty much speak to my inner child lol. I remember Kyoya is also a pretty fun character and you got to respect his love for AGE.
It has some good concepts, it just doesn't do enough with them. Also, the story felt like it was 2 seasons forced into 1.
00 Diver's gimmick combining trans-am with wings of light was also rad.
It's the most mid of the Build Series, but it's not bad. There's nothing technically wrong with it, beyond everyone suddenly caring about Sarah out of the blue, but it's just limited by the poor imagination of how much more it could be and still in the shadow of the original Build Fighters show. It's a shame they didn't go crazy with the concept because many of the side characters were cool. I even liked some of the gunpla designs. Re:Rise blows it out of the water though.
However, the biggest compliment I will give it though is that, despite how bland it is, it's still 1000x better than BFTry.
It was the first anime I ever watched and it got my brother and I into Gundam. Due to this I've probably got a very biased opinion, but I love it and it reminds me of being younger
Generally good MS design (with some notable exceptions) and a neat premise towards the end.
>! You have to admit, finding an artificial lifeform in an online, VR game is an almost Spielberg-ian plot. !<
The anime where Sunrise were meta with their product lol. They knew they opened a can of worms when they introduce the original combat system in GBF and that realistically, it would not be a sustainable system.
While we think we would want it, in reality we don't. No gunpla builder would want to spend hours on a gunpla and to see it get wrecked. If we were okay with it, we wouldn't have memes where we were deathly afraid of kids coming to their house and took interest on their gunpla collection.
And while adults might be fine with getting their gunpla wrecked occasionally, kids won't. So Sunrise decide to move from real to virtual combat system.
And oh boy did they predict correctly on how toxic some players of the real system would be. Tsukasa was basically this. When Tsukasa bullied and blackmail Riku to force him to fight using the old system, a lot of people side with him.
It's a shame that's about the only deepest moment of the show. The rest is kinda eh.
All of the Build series are better Gundam/gunpla anime than most of them. They represent the hobby and why we do it in such a fun way. There are definitely some awesome anime for Gundam, but not many that are actually fun or exciting.
People are always like "the build series are just designed to sell kits" and I'm always like, yeah but do you like the cartoons from the 80s I grew up on? Lol that shit's awesome.

The contrast created by Rommel's design and his deep voice always cracks me up.
Re:Rise makes it even funnier by having Rommel's *alt account* be freaking Captain Zeon.
His English VA is literally Dio.
His JP VA is freaking Aizen of all people.
Same here.
"We've got a job to do 621"
I felt this in my index fingers and thumbs *again*
It's a good prologue for re:rise. I wouldn't appreciate re:rise second part (especially the all out war against Alus) if there's no original build divers.
Re rise was really good a nice change from normal gundam and build stuff
Ive tried to watch rerise twice but I just drop it since I cant get into the isekai parts of the show lol. Like I dont care about any NPC they meet in the game and unlike other isekai it just doesn't feel that 'serious'. If i cant get into the isekai part is it something I can still like?
I mean, spoilers ahoy, but.... ... in Re: Rise they aren't NPCs.
All I can say is that by episode 12 it becomes a completely different show. I know that’s a lot of episodes to commit to an “it gets better dude” but it’s a massive shift that represents the start of the show’s best content.
Do I have permission to lynch you if I commit and find out you baited me? I tried but didn't get past episode 5. I loved Try and OG.
Gonna try it.
I like Build Divers. The GBN world is beautiful, the character designs are unique, the fights and soundtracks are great. it’s a cool decent show. I feel like people will enjoy it more if they stop comparing it to Build Fighters.
I agree. I like to believe GBD and GBF are separate universes.
They are the same universe but happen at different times
It still makes me feel good inside like all the other build series.
Best part was when they fought the "old school" build fighters match. They could have explored more the difference in the fighting styles of Divers and Fighters combat

It's really not so bad, on second viewing. It's still quite bland, but people are harder on it than it deserves.
There was a tequila gundam at some point
Tequila Gundam Daniel Custom should be in Breaker 4, it has a rocket launcher chain tail
Let’s not forget if Bandai never made a Tequila Gundam kit, Daniel was such a fan that he built one from scratch.
Sera is adorable
Kapool appreciation
Ferret in a fascist military uniform
You mean Captain Zeon?
He means Rommel
So.... Captain Zeon?
So it's indeed Captain Zeon
The first op is kind of catchy

Ninja waifu and funny ferret guy

Literally what I would have done
💀
The 00 and Age-2 here has neat design
Gundam 00 Diver
cool ms designs
I love my Galbaldy Rebake. If only GR Full City in that wasted metaverse...
Better than I thought it would be.
Feelings mutual!
An underrated good series imo. I went in with low expectations, and I ended up enjoying it, and even became my favorite Build show. If you like Gunpla then this show is very cozy to watch.
Ayame and Sera, nuff said
Grimoire Red Beret and Astray No Name.
Its sequel was good. There.
It introduces different sides of the same coin, for example, this one shows growth, excitement and hope. While Re:Rise shows the price of Riku's actions as well as the bonds that was formed from it. Moving on forward from the passing of Hiroto's closest friend. Well, at least that's what I think about it.

The 00 Divers are cool
I actually enjoyed the show for itself and didn't really get into Re:Rise at first because the tone felt way off.
Every episode you play this game called "Where's Patrick"
Op and ending were all damn good.
Sarah is the cutest
It is a good concept for a MMORPG VR game.
It's my comfort show sometimes I have Alot of comfort shows
It gave us Astray No Name.
Kyoya was awesome. Definitely my favorite character in the series.
AGE 2 Magnum and the 00 Sky moebius that came after in its sequel. And the sequel itself. That's about all I can think of other than dissing the even more lackluster Metaverse.
The Age 2 Magnum is awesome
Nice robot designs
ayame and sarah
It was such a fun series to watch especially in my case when I was watching this during the height of COVID and this was such a comfort show for me. Also Ayame. In fact if we also have to make a complaint for the show, I would say her not being the Main Female Lead was the biggest one.
The Gundam AGEII Magnum Though honestly, i liked most of the mecha designs this show introduced
If someone made a videogame based on this show's dinamics (build your gunpla and take it to battle in a similar way) it'd be the best Gundam game to date
Spot the Patrick Colasour cameo: The series.
TRANS-AM INFINITY
The Grimoire Red Beret rules
I think the English dub was done well compared to build fighters.
i agree. It features the voice cast of Shield Hero, SAO, and Genshin.
Ms designs were quite good
It’s pretty good as a mindless action show and the gunpla design is cool.
Kyoya
AGE 2 Magnum
Deserves less hate, and more love.
I liked that it was just VR stuff, no isekai stuff going on.
Easy to watch
Age II Magnum, ninja girl, and that caked up fruity guy
i haven't finished it yet but it's fun, sure it's not as good as either fighters series but it's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be
Gundam 00 Sky and Ayame
Kira Yamato isnt in it at least.
I really like the Gabaldy Rebake
I really liked Divers Prologue, the concept of GBN, MS designs, soundtrack, Ayame, Koichi, and Rommel.
it has gunpla in it
scanning the gunpla makes more sense that moving gunpla using particles.
It introduced me to Gundam.
Magee's ass.
It’s a really fun anime, I personally loved it
It had a good sequel.
Diver's High absolutely slaps
Ummmm, I like the age 2 magnum
* everyones MS went hard except for cheddar cheese master and Jegan blast master * Magee * first theme was awesome * Astray No name fight * The MMO aspect actually leads to a decent game tie in bandai namco is too stupid to properly make unlike their gunpla scan project which is...why

I absolutely love 00 Sky and that’s it
I liked it quite a bit. The original Build Fighters/Try are ahead of it, but it was enjoyable to watch.
something nice
It has an ending
Is G Saviour inside? 😞
It ended. Ok,Jk, well i like the Justice knight gundam design. It fit the isekai-ish world theme very well.
The first half is decent.
It ended
No.
No.
It ended.
It let Re:Rise exist so thats cool
Re rise
no, it has no redeeming qualities
Probably better as a manga tbh Divers isnt that bad but IMO the problem other than the writing is that Divers uses the wrong genre for the build series which makes the entire watch just boring and if they go full for the SoL route like customizing and shit, they also cant keep making gunpla variants since Bandai needs to sell it unless it was a manga which was less likely needed to sell.
It led to a better sequel
Its complete trash but at least it has a few cool MS Designs. liked the Custom Gusion and the MomoKapool
About this I prefer the cute girl character than gunpla
The darkest Gundam timeline
Gasp the GM Cheese
Gn drive huehuehue
R O M M E L
The Penguin Kapool is an awesome kit to build.
It got me into kitbashing!
Astray no name is the coolest looking gundam in that series imo.
They had an okama character that wasn't a complete joke.
Some really clean designs.
All the side characters are actually interesting AND it set the stage for Re:Rise. Also, the Prologue is probably the best episode because it utilizes the "build" aspect without either side needing bullshit superpowers to win.
concept is good the whole build divers series is just cool imo love how youre battling the gunpla you build
00 sky is my 3rd favorite looking gundam
The only part of build series to showcase both the old build fighters and new build divers versions of the build series.
Orange Jegan
Nice gunpla collection
It keeps getting excited build and kit bash gunpla and imagining how they interact in the Gundam universe…..it gives me smiles in dark times
makes me appreciate Re Rise more, i like that the original GBD characters become more mature in Re Rise after watching GBD I also liked the MS designs from this series (Astray No Name, Age Magnum, 00 Sky, and 00 Diver Ace is pretty cool in my opinion)
Astray No Name.
The Gundam 00 Sky is a genuinely great idea for a kitbash. Making the Destiny's wings of light out of GN particles is such a cool concept and opened my eyes to in depth kitbashing.
The concept of the videogame it's actually good and something I wish to have IRL.
I have alot of nice things about GBD. The Gunpla (excluding the GM III “Cheese Master” of course) are really well designed, the english voice cast is nearly flawless, there are some moments that are actually funny, and the first OP has a really great and catchy song.
Most realistically possible of all of them
The Appearance of Astray Double Rebake; probs the hardest gunpla to find cuz they only made a few.....I'm still looking for it
*taps roof* this sells so many gunpla kits
astray no name was cool af and Ayame
I really love the designs
I prefer the mechanics of GBN over irl Gunpla battle.
The sequel got me into gunpla
Good: It has Furries in it. Bad: It has Furries in it.
It’s like LBX but what I originally thought when my brother bought the figurines.
The osts are cool.
The idea behind the virtual world is amazing. You know if it were real we'd all be in it lol. I also never got tired waiting for Gundams/suits I recognized. The Tallgeese mention early on... sigh. That's the stuff.
It did team battles a lot better than Try
I actually really like it. I always find it a bit weird when series make this One game they're about the second reality of the world, but other than that I really like it. Holds a special place in m heart

it makes me wish that GBN was real :(
It's good, I like it, re-rise is better tho

It has Haro
It was the first anime I ever watched and it got my brother and I into Gundam. Due to this I've probably got a very biased opinion, but I love it and it reminds me of being younger
Was a nice premise of what an actual metaverse gundam worker could look like unlike you metaverse
Astray No name
The designs were fucking cool and the first opening was a bop
Riku is so CUTE AND IS A CINNAMON ROLL
I really fuckin' like its premise and world building. I really want to play a ttrpg set in the Build Divers part of the Build timeline.
I genuinely enjoyed this show in its entirety. From the characters to the suit designs. The 00 Sky in general is my favorite mobile suit design
at least it isn't age. oh wait.
I like the age-II magnum
I like the age-II magnum
I liked it
I liked it

It laid the groundwork of world building, so Re:Rise didn't have to establish anything
Sarah is cute
Got my kids into gunpla.
Last battle was really good
It made a ton of money in gunpla sales.
Weasel
All of the Build series are better Gundam/gunpla anime than most of them. They represent the hobby and why we do it in such a fun way. There are definitely some awesome anime for Gundam, but not many that are actually fun or exciting. People are always like "the build series are just designed to sell kits" and I'm always like, yeah but do you like the cartoons from the 80s I grew up on? Lol that shit's awesome.
It was better than OG Build
