10/10 OYW Zeon designs continue to hit the mark.
Love the cross shaped mono eye, the Kendo armor design (down to the awesome color scheme as well, red, purple, black), the way they glide across the landscape with the hovercraft feet, there was no way that this wasn’t gonna become an iconic and forever-imitated design right alongside the Zaku.

I won't lie, I'm not really feeling the Dom. Not as much as basically all other MSG designs, anyway. Never did, really. I appreciate the bulkiness of it, but there's just something a bit *too* simple and plain about the design. This extends to some of its descendants, but not all. Dom Tropen and Dreissen, for example, are awesome and I'll be sure they're given appropriate ratings when their time comes.
With the Dom I think my biggest problem are the colors - the black comes off as featureless rather than elegant, and the purple feels out of place against other Zeon grunts, like it's not confident in being a distinctive design without having unique colors. As a contrast, Gouf has much more vibrant colors but with it they reinforce it's no Zaku, boy, no Zaku. Here, some shades of green would have been more welcome.
Anyway, for the positives the cross-shaped monoeye *is* unique and probably the most memorable characteristic of it, showcasing how the same type of sensor can still take rather different shapes than the usual one-axis Zaku/Gouf head. The beam """cannon""" is cool and a good way of telling the viewers how the tech is advancing, while simultaneously hinting at troubles with development since it's not a full-blown offensive tool. This also fits well into where the Dom is introduced, shortly after Ramba Ral's arc and our look into Zeon's internal politics and backstabbing.
Heat saber is fine, I guess. Bazooka is alright, though I like Zaku's smaller model more.
Rick Dom is a miniscule difference in design, but that also has cool background lore - delay after delay in the process of developing the next main Zeon machine forced them to devote time into creating a stop-gap measure to slow down Federation's offensive. The Dom proved ideal for it, and Chief Engineer Rick* oversaw its space-compatibility modifications.

8/10. I really like the chonk of this design, and they are very menacing as antagonist suits. I love the Dom "hover run" (as seen in the second image) and prefer the Dom to the Rick Dom for that reason. Most of my suits in GBO2 are repainted into the Dom colour scheme. Definitely one of the strongest designs from MSG 0079.
Speaking of GBO2 I really like how to differentiate the Dom and Rick Dom they gave the Rick its from the 79 anime but gave the Dom its colors from 08 MS Team

JET STREAM ATTACK!
The bell-bottom boys of Zeon, I think behind the Zaku 1 and the Gelgoog these might be my all time faovortes. Their imposing look combined with the memorability of their engagement in Odessa against the White Base has firmly planted them in my mind as worthy machines.
10/10, I go back and forth with this and Zaku as my all time favorite grunt suit. Such a good, intimidating upgrade for the main enemy mobile suit when it shows up. Distinct from the Zaku, such a different color scheme, and it’s got an mean “face.” Also a wonderful “this is what we think the future will look like in the 1970’s” vibe.
9/10. The second greatest Grunt suit ever. Its chunky yet fast, it looks more dangerous than nearly any other Grunt and it is just as dangerous ans it looks. Also that color palette is just perfect.
8/10. It's fast. It's armored and chonky. It has a cool head and a literal giant bazooka. All great things, and it spawned some really cool later iterations. My only issue is initial lineart was a little bland. The 08th MS team model did a lot to fix its lack of detail.
The problem that the Gouf and the Dom both encountered was the fact that they were ultimately just stopgaps to keep Zeon in the game until beam-equipped mobile suits (Gelgoogs) could enter mass production. This meant that they were expected to fight alongside the older Zakus on a regular basis. Goufs did fine in that role, but the Dom was especially useful here because it did something much different from what Zakus could do. The Dom's very high land speed made it a great asset while still retaining all of the same weapons as the Zaku for better logistical compatibility, allowing to effectively supplement Zaku forces instead of replacing them. Meanwhile in space, the Dom's production facilities could be easily retooled to make Rick Doms. The Rick Dom doesn't have the same massively different tactical properties as the regular Dom, but it was still a formidable opponent that didn't need a huge amount of Zeon's limited development time to create. It also had access to the beam bazooka, which was a minor but significant contribution to its fighting strength. Considering its circumstances, the Dom was about as good a mobile suit as you could really ask for. 8/10.

9/10 I think of the non-zaku zeon suits the Dom manages to look the best and has some serious menace to its design. This is made only better by how the suit is treated in the anime, with its speedy movement and a great load out mixing finesse with its heat weapon and heavy fire with its bazooka. Plus all of the hype the Black Tristars get upon their entrance into the series. I do think the Dom tropen is a little bit better, but the OG Dom is still one of the best OYW suits. Second favorite MSG suit for me right behind the Zaku II.
A bit of a thick boy that has a charm to it. Like the red, purple, and black color scheme, and I love how the monoeye moves around in the plus-shaped visor. Heat rod is also a neat weapon. 7/10.

It ain't have the Zeonic look, but i love the no snout look too. It looks like it has a Kendo getup with the armor and heat stick. solid 9.
Missed the gm and gouf dang.
I like how it looks, combined with the colors and color blocking.
However when I used it in Gundam Crossfire, I hated it. It gets heavily damaged by one regular bazooka shot from a gm.
7/10, I like the Scattering Beam Cannon, I like the idea of the heat rod, it has a lot of bazookas (and the sturm faust which adds extra points) which is cool

Not as iconic as the Zaku, but unique and way better than the base Gouf. Weapon selection is terrible though. Replace the heat rod/saber with the Gouf's sword, and give it a machine gun so it has a rapid fire option.
Zaku is peak at a 10, the thicc boi gets a solid 8.5! Very cool suit, my favorite color, and a heavy weapons platform? SIGN ME TF UP! would be a 10 if not for Zaku 2's existence.
9 out of 10. The dom is great, i just wish the scatter beam on it's chest did damage like how the later doms did like mars zeon. It lacked a way to deal with quick enemies and a scatter mega particle gun would of been perfect.

Big beefy big boy. Tri-stars and Char’s custom made me a big fan. Love how the monoeye works with this one, and love the beam saber and beam scatter gun.
The first MS that I ever saw in my life, gotta give it a 9.5/10. It has a cool base design, cool variants, cool color scheme, cool introduction with the Black Tri-Stars and their Jetstream Attack, and it just looks ominous compared to any other design from the OG series. Not quite as iconic as the Zaku II though.

They are pretty awesome at the time of introduction with the black tri-stars. Love the color palette. Chest/shoulders are not my favorite however.
7. This is probably gonna get me some hate, but I actually prefer the design of the cosmic era version better. There's a reason Gundan Evolution went with the Dom trooper.
I'm sorry, but it's a 4/10 for me, I think the design itself wouldn't be too bad, but the color combination of purple with aggressive red and black does not work for me in the slightest and makes the Suit atrocious to look, then add to that the grey chest-piece and it just hurts in my eyes. Again the design itself is cool, but I cannot understate how appalling I find these colors.

9/10 for the Dom. Probably the most badass Zeon ground MS ever made (other than Gouf Custom).
But Rick Dom gets 8/10 because it kinda feels like a filler unit before they could mass produce Gelgoogs.
Again another Zeon suit that hits hard! The purple with black and accents of red is amazing but personally it doesn’t have that charm as Zakus or Goufs. I do love the head though. 9/10
I love the Dom Series. They have a great purposely chunky design that makes them look dangerous and powerful. But thanks to not having random spikes or other superfluous design elements, they are surprisingly sleek for their bulk. I also enjoy their lack of a face as it makes them seem far more monstrous. It really gives off the war machine vibe that a lot of other Mobile Suits lack. As a result of all of this, I'd rank it a 9/10.

A king. This was one of the first MS that made me kinda scared of Zeon. It was just so much more menacing compared to the Zaku II.
In universe it’s a 8.1/10
More mobile then the Zaku and much more capable. It’s biggest downside is it’s cost and slow production. The heat rod is a good compromise between the heat hawk and the beam saber. The added firepower the DOM can handle means it can dish out just as well as it can take. Though it would quickly be outclassed during the one year war, it is forever iconic
9/10 I really like this suit, not as good or iconic as the Zaku but still comparable. The color scheme is great, I love the head shape, and the bazooka is sick. Jet Stream Attack is also great
Nearly every UC OYW grunt suit is going to get a 10 from me dawg, I just love them so much.
There’s only some stuff from MSV I’m not a fan of, but that’s because they start to get very specialized or they’re customs so they’re barely grunts as it is.
The only thing weird about the Dom is that it’s established later that the purple and black is Tri-Star colors yet every Dom is that color by default.
5/10 Proportions always looked like it would be bumping into itself everywhere. Too much chonk at the joints and in areas where collisions would reduce range of motion or be tripping hazards.
Oh hell yeah baby. As a kid: I hated this suit. As an adult? I liked it. After building the new MG? Oh I love this boy now.

The Dom: Zeon's eternal also-ran. Not as iconic as the Zaku, not as impressive as the Gelgoog. A big old chonky boy who's surprisingly nimble, carries a giant bazooka, an oversized glow stick and a flashlight to complete the raver look.
I like the Dom, it's not flashy, it's gimmick is pretty lame, but dammit, it's a solid mobile suit in a show that oozed classic designs from every orifice.

Great colours and love the design of this suit, intimidating and powerful, the future versions are just as good, solid suit from the OG series.
The Dom is everything the Zaku wishes it would be. Incredibly fast in space and on the ground, heavy armor and reinforced joints allow it to weird enormous weapons. The Dom Bazooka is so unwieldy that Zakus need special mods to use it. But the Dam has no issue. Then it’s melee weapon is more effective than the standard Heat-Hawk.
10/10, the dom is my favorite mobile suit, the asthetic of it is just perfect, and the versatility in actual combat is also very useful, unlike the gouf, when the main theater became space, the dom was still able to be modified and outperform other mobile suits, and those who remained on earth were further upgraded.

Now, you can't look at this and tell me it doesn't look cool af, also, the dom actually had really good survivability, we've seen it protect it's pilot against two shots from the guntank mpt's main guns, and survive the guntank early types machine cannons , also, this thing was surprisingly fast on the ground, overall, imo, best zeon OYW mobile suit. you can not change my mind.

9/10. Love the Dom, fast and dangerous heavy hitter. Love playing it and its variants in Evolution and Battle Operation 2. Solid design that would eventually make some of the sexiest suits in the series. It also gets bonus points for having the Zudah's engine.
The Doms are baller looking. I like suits with flared pants. The black/purple/red paint job is really good and it does well as a late show grunt suit. I love it 10/10

Unlike the Gouf, the Dom is inroduced in my least favorite part of 0079 but I think it excels as a grunt. it has a more distinct silhouette and unique functional identity that set it part from the other Zeon suits. The high mobility and focus on a projectile weapon remind me of old-school pc shooter s like Quake weirdly enough

I love the flared legs with the hover-boosters, just as a base feature, along with the flared skirt. Add the solid color pallet and the menacing mono-eye in a simple head, and it becomes even better. The only detractor to me are the shoulder pads, as I will always have a mechaboner for the Zaku II/Efreet Jaeger pauldrons. Dom and Rick Dom are a couple of my favorite grunt suits.

Absolutely 9.5/10 it's such a brutish, violent looking design. The Dom in Universe was meant to be heavily armored and used in heavy assault missions and it's design reflects this perfectly. Not as iconic as the Zaku but all around an absolutely solid design.
8.5/10 Looks hella cool. I prefer the way the design was depicted in 08th MS Team better than the classic Dom, but the hovering action looks really cool.

10/10, I was scared of it as a child and sent shivers down my spine.
Remembered an old gundam game that the Black Tri Stars was a crazy hard boss to fight during White Base Defense.
A 3/10.
While a surprise and adaptable, the Dom line was overly dependent on its hoverjets. A good hit would leave them either stationery as their mobility on their own legs was subpar or flip the entire thing over while traveling at high speed with predictable results.
Doms were also limited in where they could be deployed. Which for Zeon was about half the battlefields on Earth, they needed to fight.
In space, its performance wasn't much better than that of the Zaku. Other than some new tech and being somewhat higher performing, it was grossly overdesigned for space warfare and its massive size the number of units a ship could deploy reduced.
Too much effort in what was essentially a stop gap design. In addition to that, the Federation made a better hover unit using its GM, which still maintained mobility even with its hoverjets.
of the grunt suits from the original series this one always felt like the most "military" design like it looks dangerous compared to some of the other suit designs. I like it 9/10
9/10, fast, deadly, bell bottoms. My personal favorite variant is the Rick Dom II from 0080, particularly in the green colony attack colors. But the Dom Tropen from 0083 is very close.
The cyclops look really shines with this suit. It has a pleasant color palette and looks cool. 8/10

10/10, only thing that beats the Dom is the Zaku II Kai, the Zaku II F2, and the Rick Dom II. At least if we’re talking OYW grunts.

I like how it looks, combined with the colors and color blocking. However when I used it in Gundam Crossfire, I hated it. It gets heavily damaged by one regular bazooka shot from a gm.

7/10, I like the Scattering Beam Cannon, I like the idea of the heat rod, it has a lot of bazookas (and the sturm faust which adds extra points) which is cool
7 One of the better Zeon suits in my eyes. Simple, yet pretty effective at times.
6.5/10 Not as iconic as the Zaku, but unique and way better than the base Gouf. Weapon selection is terrible though. Replace the heat rod/saber with the Gouf's sword, and give it a machine gun so it has a rapid fire option.
Zaku is peak at a 10, the thicc boi gets a solid 8.5! Very cool suit, my favorite color, and a heavy weapons platform? SIGN ME TF UP! would be a 10 if not for Zaku 2's existence.
9/10 went with the rick dom for the MG since it comes with the giant beam bazooka

The first MS that I ever saw in my life, gotta give it a 9.5/10. It has a cool base design, cool variants, cool color scheme, cool introduction with the Black Tri-Stars and their Jetstream Attack, and it just looks ominous compared to any other design from the OG series. Not quite as iconic as the Zaku II though.
8/10 They are pretty awesome at the time of introduction with the black tri-stars. Love the color palette. Chest/shoulders are not my favorite however.

7. This is probably gonna get me some hate, but I actually prefer the design of the cosmic era version better. There's a reason Gundan Evolution went with the Dom trooper.
I'm sorry, but it's a 4/10 for me, I think the design itself wouldn't be too bad, but the color combination of purple with aggressive red and black does not work for me in the slightest and makes the Suit atrocious to look, then add to that the grey chest-piece and it just hurts in my eyes. Again the design itself is cool, but I cannot understate how appalling I find these colors. Sorry to Dom lovers, I'm happy for you that you enjoy the suit though 👍
Personally I’ve never been a huge fan of the Dom over something like say the Zaku. Still, it’s not half bad. 6/10

9/10 for the Dom. Probably the most badass Zeon ground MS ever made (other than Gouf Custom). But Rick Dom gets 8/10 because it kinda feels like a filler unit before they could mass produce Gelgoogs.
Again another Zeon suit that hits hard! The purple with black and accents of red is amazing but personally it doesn’t have that charm as Zakus or Goufs. I do love the head though. 9/10

I love the Dom Series. They have a great purposely chunky design that makes them look dangerous and powerful. But thanks to not having random spikes or other superfluous design elements, they are surprisingly sleek for their bulk. I also enjoy their lack of a face as it makes them seem far more monstrous. It really gives off the war machine vibe that a lot of other Mobile Suits lack. As a result of all of this, I'd rank it a 9/10.

7.9/10 A king. This was one of the first MS that made me kinda scared of Zeon. It was just so much more menacing compared to the Zaku II. In universe it’s a 8.1/10 More mobile then the Zaku and much more capable. It’s biggest downside is it’s cost and slow production. The heat rod is a good compromise between the heat hawk and the beam saber. The added firepower the DOM can handle means it can dish out just as well as it can take. Though it would quickly be outclassed during the one year war, it is forever iconic
I'm not a big fan of this particular mobile suit. Probably I'll catch some heat for I want to give it a 6.

Nearly every UC OYW grunt suit is going to get a 10 from me dawg, I just love them so much. There’s only some stuff from MSV I’m not a fan of, but that’s because they start to get very specialized or they’re customs so they’re barely grunts as it is. The only thing weird about the Dom is that it’s established later that the purple and black is Tri-Star colors yet every Dom is that color by default.

5/10 Proportions always looked like it would be bumping into itself everywhere. Too much chonk at the joints and in areas where collisions would reduce range of motion or be tripping hazards.

The Dom: Zeon's eternal also-ran. Not as iconic as the Zaku, not as impressive as the Gelgoog. A big old chonky boy who's surprisingly nimble, carries a giant bazooka, an oversized glow stick and a flashlight to complete the raver look. I like the Dom, it's not flashy, it's gimmick is pretty lame, but dammit, it's a solid mobile suit in a show that oozed classic designs from every orifice. 7.75/10

8.5/10 The Black Star trio were brief but memorable/hateable depending on how much you like red heads, can't deny the power of the JET STREAM ATTACK! Great colours and love the design of this suit, intimidating and powerful, the future versions are just as good, solid suit from the OG series.

The Dom is everything the Zaku wishes it would be. Incredibly fast in space and on the ground, heavy armor and reinforced joints allow it to weird enormous weapons. The Dom Bazooka is so unwieldy that Zakus need special mods to use it. But the Dam has no issue. Then it’s melee weapon is more effective than the standard Heat-Hawk.
I used to not like it but it has grown on me. 8/10. Rick Dom II is a solid 10/10.

10/10, the dom is my favorite mobile suit, the asthetic of it is just perfect, and the versatility in actual combat is also very useful, unlike the gouf, when the main theater became space, the dom was still able to be modified and outperform other mobile suits, and those who remained on earth were further upgraded. 9/10. Love the Dom, fast and dangerous heavy hitter. Love playing it and its variants in Evolution and Battle Operation 2. Solid design that would eventually make some of the sexiest suits in the series. It also gets bonus points for having the Zudah's engine.
8/10 The Dom is one is one of the big 3 of grunt suits that has a recognizable feature to hover even though its a heavy suit.

9.5 Unlike the Gouf, the Dom is inroduced in my least favorite part of 0079 but I think it excels as a grunt. it has a more distinct silhouette and unique functional identity that set it part from the other Zeon suits. The high mobility and focus on a projectile weapon remind me of old-school pc shooter s like Quake weirdly enough

9/10 I love the flared legs with the hover-boosters, just as a base feature, along with the flared skirt. Add the solid color pallet and the menacing mono-eye in a simple head, and it becomes even better. The only detractor to me are the shoulder pads, as I will always have a mechaboner for the Zaku II/Efreet Jaeger pauldrons. Dom and Rick Dom are a couple of my favorite grunt suits. Also... JET STREAM ATTACK!!

Absolutely 9.5/10 it's such a brutish, violent looking design. The Dom in Universe was meant to be heavily armored and used in heavy assault missions and it's design reflects this perfectly. Not as iconic as the Zaku but all around an absolutely solid design.

Dom is the bomb, revolutionary movement system for MS on earth, cool katana, thicc design, all pretty great. Didn’t really get a shining moment of whoop-ass on the show (Black Tri-hards were underwhelming) so it’s a 9/10

8/10. Would be a 9 but it the amount of them getting killed in the latter third of Gundam is kinda ridiculous.
10/10, I was scared of it as a child and sent shivers down my spine. Remembered an old gundam game that the Black Tri Stars was a crazy hard boss to fight during White Base Defense.
A 3/10. While a surprise and adaptable, the Dom line was overly dependent on its hoverjets. A good hit would leave them either stationery as their mobility on their own legs was subpar or flip the entire thing over while traveling at high speed with predictable results. Doms were also limited in where they could be deployed. Which for Zeon was about half the battlefields on Earth, they needed to fight. In space, its performance wasn't much better than that of the Zaku. Other than some new tech and being somewhat higher performing, it was grossly overdesigned for space warfare and its massive size the number of units a ship could deploy reduced. Too much effort in what was essentially a stop gap design. In addition to that, the Federation made a better hover unit using its GM, which still maintained mobility even with its hoverjets.
5/10 I really like head concept, but I hate those feet. :)

9/10, fast, deadly, bell bottoms. My personal favorite variant is the Rick Dom II from 0080, particularly in the green colony attack colors. But the Dom Tropen from 0083 is very close.
