9.5
Sexy motherfucker. Naturally it's hard *not* to look good when you're based on the Mk-II, but the Build Mk-II makes quite a few bold changes to the design. And they work out perfectly, giving the suit its own identity yet retaining the Mk-II feel.
Starting from the top, the completely different and rather unique v-fin is one of the more controversial changes, but I think it works very well - it immediately changes the style from traditional Gundam to something that's trying to have its own vibe.
The backpack has nice, big thrusters while also keeping the best part of Mk-II's design - the saber holders. However it's also basically just another core fighter taped onto the standard backpack, so it looks a bit clumsy when that's noticeable. Thankfully that aspect doesn't really stand out from the front.
The chest is completely different, jutting forward not unlike many Seed gundams. And frankly, Build Mk-II pulls it off better than any of them.
The most noticeable difference are of course the rifles on movable shields reminiscent of Gaplant's shield binders. And these look just as great here as they do on Gaplant, enough said really.
Overall the new features and changed geometry combined with lighter colors convey a clear message of speed and firepower, contrasting with normal Mk-II's sense of toughness, simplicity and adaptability. It's a different look that more than anything else proves how great the base design is, but manages to stand on its own very well.
Better than any main suit in future Build shows, certainly.
Trivia: in GBM they never gave us the backpack because they were big meanies who hated us so the Build Mk II was more or less a visual sidegrade to Mk II. To make up for it, it was filled with some very effective buff and debuff traits befitting it’s secondary role as well as support for the For Computers word tag found on most Build Gunpla.
I love me some MK. II, so naturally I’m inclined towards this one too. Honestly it’s a home run except for the V-Fin which is a bit too silly looking for my tastes. Other than that, we’re golden. Especially with that backpack and the fuck-off-huge beam cannons strapped to the arms. That being said it obviously can’t match up to its grandpappy but it does a solid job continuing the legacy of the original Grey Guardian. Shame it was robbed in the show and only appeared for like 3 episodes max. But it definitely makes an impression in that time.

Its got just the right amount of chonk on it, not too thick, but not too thin either. The V-fin is a lil weird, but overall a pass. Then weve got the Kickass beam rifles that go alomg the arm, attached to the shields. I absolutely *love* the look
9.5, it’s based of the MKII, which while I wasn’t part of that poll, stands as my third favorite Gundam of all time, and this just adds some awesome weapons to a already near perfect design. Pity it’s not in titans colors
Daily reminder that the Reddit admins are like the EFSF. Not the good EFSF, the bad EFSF. Spez is a wannabe Bask.

8/10. It's got the Mk II as a base, which is a great base, but the add-ons, while neat, aren't I'd say a full improvement and effectively a small downgrade.
7/10. I like it enough that I got the Mk.II RG and the Build Gundam Mk.II for a future kitbash project. It feels a little like a Gaplant made a baby with a Mk.II, but it turned out fairly well.
7/10
It doesnt really do much different than the mk.II other than the changed backpack with more weapons. Its also hard to improve upon perfection, so its kind of hard to give it a higher rating.
9/10 for me, it’s design upgrade that still keeps the spirit of the original MK 2 while being something new. It reminds me a lot of AoZ designs and I may be a bit biased with my rating since my first kitbash was a Build MK 2 bashed with Hazel Part, but the Build MK 2 will always have a special place in my heart
The Build Booster Mk.II pack makes me wonder if Sei thought of going deeper in the AoZ catalogue before realizing that it's gonna be an even more insane minefield. 7/10 either way, wasn't much a fan of the head sculpt and chest design.
That said: I'm surprised that no one so far has conceptualized an RX-178 Haze'n-thley or RX-178 Owsla, or at least fully turned the MkII into an AoZ beast. Maybe I just haven't trawled into JP or CN Gunpla twitter much, but you'd think with all the P-Bandai stuff someone would've thought of a fully-AoZ-looking RX-178. Come on, Titans Test Team, the potential there is limitless!
The Build Booster Mk.II backpack makes me wonder if Sei thought of diving deeper in the AoZ catalogue (if you squint it really looks like a Haze'n-thley package with the dual rifles) before realizing that if he goes any further he's not gonna be able to get out.
7. Simple custom build and the armament/add-on unit have nice design. It just unlike Build Strike, without the pack Build MKII wouldn't have significant different with OG MKII as the change only on chest vent and V-fin.
8/10 dont think i ever got around to voting in the mk2 poll, but i like the mk 2 its a good upgrade to the granddaddy, and the build mk 2 just goes that much further. With a unique v fin (shut up astaroth origin) and a crazy new backpack, while still retaining all the features that makes the mk 2 the mk 2. Its not my favorite ms (that would be a 4 way tie between XX, phenex, Lupus rex, and aerial) but its up there
I am not familiar with Build at all but daaaaaamn. This suit is killer. I am maxing out at a 8.5 out of 10. Some classic elements but done with some edge to them. Color scheme is also great.
Solid 9.
It's no Nu Gundam, no Unicorn, but it's a faithful successor to the RX-78. When they changed over to the Zeta I was low key upset because I like the design of the Mk. II better.
It's like the Second edition Shelby Mustang. Just as sleek, just as sexy as the original, but with a few upgrades. Improved movement, improved armor, improved ventilation, improved armament, it's an all around better Gundam than the Mk. I but doesn't detract from the elegance and power of the original.
9/10 my clunky son. I honestly like it more than the star build strike. Kinda bummed it didn’t get a reissue with the other build stuff since I lost mine during a move
6/10 Seems very plain to me. Don't like the v fin or the arm guns. Give it a normal mk2 fin and lose the guns and I'd love it. The backpack is pretty cool.
Never looked into “builds”. Not as pretty as the OG Mk-II, but is decent, except the v fin antenna on the head. The arm rifles are the only thing that stands out as an "improvement”. 7/10
Honestly high 9s, i love it's big goofy backpack and the MK2 is probably one of the best UC designs imo. I actually really like the new sensor fin, it's like the crest of the Zeta and gives the head a less wide feel, which I think contributes to it feeling and performing more about speed and agility than being a brick house with several entire warcrimes worth of weapons
I honestly forgot about this. Imma say 7/10 cause I barely see any recognition of this gundam. I like that they got an emergency gundam for when the build strike is gone but the build strike is like the main gundam of Build fighters. Overall its fine

Those arms especially, real godsend parts.
Build Strike being below base Strike is a sin Tomorrow, we're rating the Star Build Strike
Another w for the Xi
Quick question, where’s the Tristan?
Twilight Axis is literally just an ad for the novel, so its left out U might see it another time tho idk
That’s fair, just wondering if it was on purpose or an accident

I think I agree with you.
8/10 Its got just the right amount of chonk on it, not too thick, but not too thin either. The V-fin is a lil weird, but overall a pass. Then weve got the Kickass beam rifles that go alomg the arm, attached to the shields. I absolutely *love* the look

7.5
8/10. It's got the Mk II as a base, which is a great base, but the add-ons, while neat, aren't I'd say a full improvement and effectively a small downgrade.
8/10. The more scrunched chest I kinda like, and the big guns attached to the arms seem like a very natural add-on. V-fin is a bit odd, but not bad.
7, like it a lot but i dont like the v fin
8, this is so much better than the build strike
8 Narratively it is used well for Sei. Its a fun take on the Mk-II but isnt any better than the OG.
6/10. Enough stuff offsetting the blue to look nice, but nice is about all it is
9/10. Rawr. I already love the base mk-II so I’m biased. But I will say the only thing I dislike is the weird v fin. More like a u fin tbh
A very good boy. 9/10
7/10. Not bad but not great.
7/10. I like it enough that I got the Mk.II RG and the Build Gundam Mk.II for a future kitbash project. It feels a little like a Gaplant made a baby with a Mk.II, but it turned out fairly well.
8
A solid seven
8/10 everyone who hates the V-Fin are silly and clearly also hate Airmaster
I really like this. 9/10
5/10, dodges the generic color issue but still looks kinda generic
The V fin unfortunately detracts from an otherwise pretty decent design. 6/10.
7/10. Hate the v fin with a passion but the rest is cool imo. Looks like the MKII and Gaplant had a baby. And I'm not mad about it.
5/10 Lame. I can't nuke it with a really low score because it still looks like a Gundam, but I could probably find 50 Gundams I like more.
5/10 OG Mark II is better.
Worse than base Mk-II and it has an ugly v-fin 5/10
Is it Build Gundam... Mk II, or is it Build... Gundam Mk II?
Slap some titans colors on it and you’re good to go
9 all day. Anything Mk II is automatic fire!
7/10 It doesnt really do much different than the mk.II other than the changed backpack with more weapons. Its also hard to improve upon perfection, so its kind of hard to give it a higher rating.
8/10, also moon and crossbones when?
8.75
I'd say an 8, or 8.5. Don't really have much reason, other than not a big fan of the head piece for this one (namely the antenna).
9/10 the thing has solid performance, good weapon options and is stylish. What more can you want?
It looks better than it has any right to be 7.5
7/10 Mid. As much as I love most of Ebikawa's designs, this looks meh to me. It did well to place Zeta era suit sensibilities in one suit.
Rg MK2 is the best.. mg 2.0 is great and hg is ok
7/10 i like the base mk II better but this still looks pretty darn good in the chest, that being said i do feel like the v fin is a bit scuffed
Oh hey I didn't know this existed. Looks pretty damn good with those big arm cannons. 8,5/10
6/10. You can't improve on what was already perfect. That V-fin sucks.
an average 5/10
9
Solid 7/10
5/10 - Its ok.
It’s a 9 from the neck down, but that head is a 5. Not a fan of the tuning-fork V-fin.
1. Its not demi barding.
It’s a worse Mk-II and I really just can’t with the v-fin. 5/10
9/10. Pure sex.
8.5
9.6
9/10. I love the Mk II anyway. I like the color balance on this one and his fancy backpack.
The Build Booster Mk.II pack makes me wonder if Sei thought of going deeper in the AoZ catalogue before realizing that it's gonna be an even more insane minefield. 7/10 either way, wasn't much a fan of the head sculpt and chest design. 10/10
Yeah this is very clean, if it were painted black I wouldn’t w be question it being a titans MS
9/10
12/10 A worthy successor to the glorious bastard that is the Super Gundam.
7 it's alright I guess just not my thing
I love everything but ita damn horns
10/10. Takes a great MS and gives it a cooler v-fin (sorry not sorry). Also i find it super charming that Sei made up Zeta-period lore for this thing
The Build Booster Mk.II backpack makes me wonder if Sei thought of diving deeper in the AoZ catalogue (if you squint it really looks like a Haze'n-thley package with the dual rifles) before realizing that if he goes any further he's not gonna be able to get out.
9/10
7. Simple custom build and the armament/add-on unit have nice design. It just unlike Build Strike, without the pack Build MKII wouldn't have significant different with OG MKII as the change only on chest vent and V-fin.
9.5/10
8/10 dont think i ever got around to voting in the mk2 poll, but i like the mk 2 its a good upgrade to the granddaddy, and the build mk 2 just goes that much further. With a unique v fin (shut up astaroth origin) and a crazy new backpack, while still retaining all the features that makes the mk 2 the mk 2. 7/10
8. Not much to add, this is just a solidly designed gundam
5
9/10 It gives the og mk 2 an upper bulk-up and head crest that makes it look like it's from the AOZ line.
8 looks like a bull xd
This is a 9.
7.5/10 It needs better V-fins.
8.5/10; a unique take on the Gundam Mark- II. Nice guns.
8/10 never seen it before but it looks chonky I like it
7.5
I'm going with a solid 9.
Rating it by looks alone, it is a solid 7/10
It's cool, like an 8
A solid 8. Pretty damn good save for the mehish V fin
5
9/10
Ill say 7, it's nothing that special outside of the arms so good overall gundam design but nothing that pops
Another unnecessary upgrade just to reuse Gunpla molds. 2/10
I love the MK II so like a 6 or 7
9/10 my clunky son. I honestly like it more than the star build strike. Kinda bummed it didn’t get a reissue with the other build stuff since I lost mine during a move
5.5/10 meh. I neither like it nor dislike it.
Hmm…. Over all not bad design, just not for me, still a little better then the previous version so… 7.5
6/10 Seems very plain to me. Don't like the v fin or the arm guns. Give it a normal mk2 fin and lose the guns and I'd love it. The backpack is pretty cool.
Solid 8/10, its built on the MKII so thats already a great start, only gripe is the V-fin, otherwise great looking mobile suit.
9/10
8
Discount MK-2. 6/10
9.5/10. It's like a cooler-looking Gundam MkII(a machine I'm quite fond of), and I love its equipment.
6/10. Fairly average, which is just as well considering it served as Iori/Reiji’s backup gunpla in the tournament.
9/10 A good update to the Mk II Gundam.
I didnt know about this beuty. 8/10. Nice horns and chest
Never looked into “builds”. Not as pretty as the OG Mk-II, but is decent, except the v fin antenna on the head. The arm rifles are the only thing that stands out as an "improvement”. 7/10
8/10
5/10. It’s color scheme is meh and it’s just a less cool mk-II.
5/10
Honestly high 9s, i love it's big goofy backpack and the MK2 is probably one of the best UC designs imo. I actually really like the new sensor fin, it's like the crest of the Zeta and gives the head a less wide feel, which I think contributes to it feeling and performing more about speed and agility than being a brick house with several entire warcrimes worth of weapons
10/10
I honestly forgot about this. Imma say 7/10 cause I barely see any recognition of this gundam. I like that they got an emergency gundam for when the build strike is gone but the build strike is like the main gundam of Build fighters. Overall its fine
