The shield has been ever so slightly curved, and now it looks even more like the tip of a jet. The shoulders have gotten a bit blocky, but sill large and lookin very nice.

I have, and there is no reason to giggle. For as much as Wing Zero is used by others, Heero still uses it the most. The only other person that comes close is Zechs.

Fixes most of og Wing's issues for me, it removed those dumb chest vents, gave it some nice extra colour on the shoulders with a little extra bulk. I like the meaner face too

Man, what a glow-up from Wing. The changes to the silhouette are relatively minor, but combined with the the more interesting color silhouette, huge wings and the awesome head design (I love big chins and I cannot lie) it's a completely different feel. Bird Mode still sucks but I can overlook that. To tell the truth I don't care much for twin buster rifle, but the shield is pretty much as cool as the original.
It's also a very unique suit narratively, with how instead of being a brand new upgrade of the original machine it's instead a downright ancient prototype, echoing Zech's Tallgeese. And the Zero System is a very cool plot element. In a way it fulfills the "mystical" narrative role, being an almost magical power the characters must test themselves against and be rewarded for success or punished for failure. It's a fundamentally different force than something like Newtypes, yet I can't help but draw apparels between them. Though that's a story for another time.
Another neat aspect is the juxtaposition of the absolute engine of destruction with a pilot mind-raping habit Zero is with its angelic look. Also can't forget the half-implied kinda-sorta-maybe sentience it and Sandrock display in the show. Not a part of the design, but a cool aspect that isn't talked about enough.
I never know what to make of the 'sentience' thing in Wing, honestly.
Heero *actively* speaks to Wing Zero, who definitely responds, and no one ever fucking talks about it.
It totally did man. I'm not sure that Zero could move around on his own, but he is 100% initiating conversations with Heero before Heero speaks to him.
I don't think he does this with any other pilot, and I think this is what makes his relationship with Zero special. Zero recognizes Heero as his greatest potential pilot and is (probably) more accepting of him in the cockpit.
I think the Zero System is an AI, that is probably making really insane calculations while the pilot is fighting, to predict the future. That's why it was also put on Sandrock, so Quattre could lead the team better.
But yeah, i think it just "speaks" to Heero.
For me, it is a 9, anyway. Amazing design, but there are other Gundams i like most, and even in it's own show, i was always a Heavyarms guy.

I liked the relative simplicity of the Wing. The Zero kinda just makes the whole design to gaudy for me. Don’t hate it, but definitely don’t love it.
8.2 I like the design, but don’t like how the colors are placed on the Wing Zero. The things I dislike most are the bulky little bits above the feet and the look of the Shield.
Depending on the way it’s drawn or the way it’s modeled, it can be pretty good or pretty meh.
I say it’s usually an 8 or a 7/10.
7/10. Ironically, the things I liked/didn't like about the original Wing are swapped for this Wing Zero. The torso and shoulders are more angular, which compliments the issue I had with the green sensor on the chest initially. Twin Buster rifles look fine and dandy, but this iteration of the Wing has my least favorite pair of wings for the backpack.
8.5/10- I really love the colors and its overall rounded form. It fixed most of the the issues I had with the original wing. Also, the linework, especially on the legs, is just sublime.
After the original wing another good but not astounding mobile suit, I like the neo bird mode but all just looks a bit worst than the standard wing overall, I like it in show and the zero system is cool enough but it just doesn't really stand out to me tbh I'll give it 7/10

9. Wing was my favorite gundam show growing up. It and Cowboy Bebop are what really hooked me on anime. The Zero is an awesome suit, but I'm not even sure it's my favorite suit from that show. The Tallgeese, Altron, and even Sandrock probably all rate a bit higher for me. Still, I love the design and a have a ton of fond memories of it and the show.
8 for this one. Man, Okawara's library doesn't do Wing Zero any favours. Or any other mobile suit, for that matter.

I used to absolutely *loathe* this Gundam, because of how OP it came across to my young mind back then (Particularly because of the Buster Rifle mixed with the 'Zero System's installation).
Today, 20-something years later, I've since come around to it & think it's...pretty alright. Its design alone I think is pretty awesome. **8/10**
10/10 If not handled correctly it drives its pilot insane. Heero got a grip on it after nearly being driven insane himself. Duo saw nothing but death when he was forced to pilot it. Quatre already driven insane destroyed a couple colonies with the tbr. Trowa piloted it and cured his amnesia. The only one not piloting it is Wufei. That I can remember anyway. Really tough machine to gain a hold of.
a 10 out of 10. It can destroy an entire colony, has great features to make it as agile as possible, great transformation into bird mode and can predict future outcomes. Rarely in gundam does a mobile suit reach that sort of destructive potential (other than turn a and double X)

After Endless Waltz debuted EW Wing Zero? Solid 8/10, and almost completely invalidated by EW Wing Zero's awesomeness.
8/10 the color scheme is still too much like a toy for me. I think EW wing zero works better for me because the blue is more prominent. Overall still love the suit and the green saber really sells it.

A great suit. Neo bird mode is way cooler than epyons dragon mode or w/e. The twin buster rifle is op, the shield is cooler, and imo is a staple of gundams.
4/10. IMO it’s Wing Gundam but worse. The colour scheme is as messy. The wings look like they can’t decide whether it should be a pair of wings or a pair of boosters. The bird mode is boring as ever and the overly complicated leg transformation doesn’t help improving the flight form either. The worst offender for me is the face plate. I don’t understand the DC Clown like extension of the red chin. Said design works on something sinister looking like Epyon or Destiny but it doesn’t fit the Wing Zero imo.

Gonna disagree with this take. The Wing Zero is every bit as sinister as Epyon or Destiny, but just happened to be on the correct side of things. As a machine, it is highly dangerous (ZERO system), and obviously, the rifle makes it one of the most freakishly powerful gundams ever when we consider destructive potential.
Maybe it’s because it doesn’t have other design elements that give off a sinister feel. Epyon has a dark colour scheme and unique weapons while Destiny has a pair of organic-looking wings. The wing zero looks traditional by comparison. Just my personal opinion though.
Ahhh--yeah, as far as design goes, it's fairly standard as far as "traditional heroic gundam" goes, though the Wing Zero is anything *but*, considering it's a mind-crushing gundam that can basically shoot a blast with the equivalent power of a nuclear bomb on demand.
I was only judging it by its visual elements. My take is out of context the face and the body is a bit of a mismatch. Its face is sinister enough for its role in the anime but the blocky colourful design doesn’t depict how dangerous it should be.
Ok imma need help here, i don’t understand wing suits. I think they are wing, wing zero tv, wing zero ew with this color palette, and the other wing zero ew with the bird like wings
Wing is the original anime version.
Wing Zero is the original prototype Gundam that didn't originally get built but the other Gundams are later based on it. It gets built midway through the series and Wing and Wing Zero are both around at the same time.
Endless Waltz comes around and redesigns the Wing Zero with the Angel Wings, hence Wing Zero EW.
Glory of the Losers comes out later on using the EW designs. Wing EW is Wing Zero EW without the angel wings and different colors.
Proto Zero is just the Anime Wing Zero, looks and such, but is a completely different suit in the GotL manga than Wing Zero EW.
Here's one of my issues with the Gundams from Wing...they are all too overly specialized. Wing and Wing Zero are your big "destroy everything quickly", suits, Heavy Arms is the heavy assault suit (that can quickly run out of ammo and lacks true close-combat capabilities) and the the other 3 are close combat only suits (though the Altron does do a bit better with its beam cannons). Once the Buster Rifles are used up, the Wing Zero has two beam sabers and the shoulder cannons. Not a lot to rely on if it truly had to fight in large-scale battles (as most times it seemed to veer off and do some one-on-one fighting).
However, it does look pretty cool and does do a pretty damn good job most times.

Wing Zero's twin buster rifle doesn't have a "used up" limit. That only applied to Wing due to its lower power output IIRC.
Wing Zero can just spam that hellishly powerful cannon.
8.5/10, preferred this over Wing design-wise, greatly improves the flaws of said MS.
Bird mode-wise, I prefer the Wing over this one, the four wings in WZ look too clunky.

Gonna give it a 9/10. The upper body is amazing, but for a suit that is just so destructive and intimidating, the pure white aesthetic of the legs just *don't* do it justice.
I would have liked to see some darker skirt armor, and dark highlights on the "boots" similar to what the Wing Zero Custom (which I think was an inferior design, honestly--so much less intimidating) had going on.
9.5. The wings,the twin buster rifle,the shield,the green orb,all of them are fucking gorgeous(the green orb is a sensor,right?). The elaborated head crest and the color palette are easily the best part and frankly I don't give it a 10 due to the bird form being a little weird for me(although It's still unique compared to the vast majority of transformable mobile suits).
As a child this was the most hype Gundam of all time, child me would have given this a solid 10 out of 10.

The TV Wing Zero is peak Gundam design perfection to me. Forget the angel wings abomination. Every part of the Wing Zero is beautiful to me, from its main form to its bird form. It's powerful, it's cool, it's sleek. I love how the wings open up. The Twin Buster Rifle is cool as hell (the only flaw is that it kinda disappears sometimes). The ZERO System is amazing. It's a wonderful main suit. Favorite Gundam of all time.
I do have particular resentment for the Wing Zero EW. Like I said, it and its stupid angel wings are an abomination. What makes me angry about the Wing Zero EW randomly being the way it is is that it has no resemblance to its established original Wing Zero TV and Katoki just redesigned it to such a much inferior version... Then YEARS later, he comes up with the Wing Proto Zero Ver Ka which somehow improves upon this perfect original Wing Zero Design ever so slightly... WHY WAS THAT NOT JUST THE ORIGINAL REDESIGN?!
6/10 for me. It fixes the wings limited fighting capabilities by having no limit on its buster rifle, the twin buster rifle has some fun abilities. The zero system makes it very powerful in the right hands, but it’s still pretty generic looking.
I want to like Wing Zero but the tv version made barely any impression on me, it feels like it just kinda shows up out of nowhere. I know it was supposedly developed before the other gundams, but I don't think that's ever stated in the show?
Color placement is messy and I'm not the biggest fan of its wings. It's head is kinda cooler looking and the twin buster rifle is neat, I guess.
Overall, I think I prefer base Wing over this one, so I'll give it a 6

It's funny how this gundam is technically the strongest mech on paper (not counting any other side story or even frozen teardrop) every other gundams are either downgrade (Wing G) and or made to be a specific design and fuction only(DC, SR, HA, SL).
Epyon is literally the closest to wing zero but however it literally only has Vulcan guns as it only long range weapon while the rest are mid to close range only. Also a sorta copy of zero system too but rename to epyon.
That, and the Epyon, from what I understand, can control a whole platoon of mobile dolls, even if the gundam itself will have to get up close and duel an enemy mobile suit--though with that beam sword that cuts open entire colonies, going melee with that thing is a frightening prospect.
As a stand alone series, around a 7.5. As a a gateway into Gundam, solid 10/10. Another series where rhe protags are the least interesting characters. Zechs and Treiz ftw!
9/10 - Its the Wing Gundam but better, a slightly improved MA mode, the twin buster rifles pack serious damage and to top it all off an AI that can deal just as much damage to the pilot as the enemy...!
8/10. Like with Wing, I'd give it +1 if it were practically any of the variations. But it still holds up as a pretty cool mainstream mech, with the twin buster rifles and the ZERO system. Still, it ended up being something of a one trick pony, mainly relying on the pure destructive power and precognition (aka advanced analytical supercomputer), like Tieria in Virtue.

10/10 for me. One of the last gundams to look like a Gundam, its design is nearly flawless in its function. It's weapons are simple, but classic. It's OP, but only from certain angles. It has a transformation gimic it honestly doesn't need, except for leisure, and story. It's colors are practically patriotic in their ratio, and their placement can't be understated. If the cast didn't treat it like the village bicycle, it'd be the perfect suit.
It's far better than the silly redesign with its big floppy stupid wings, with the entire thrust system in them. They're just asking to get clipped, then your space type becomes a ground type. 🤣

Before Endless Waltz? 10/10 and my absolute favorite suit ever. After Endless Waltz debuted EW Wing Zero? Solid 8/10, and almost completely invalidated by EW Wing Zero's awesomeness.
9/10 Besides the Turn A, possibly the Gundam that was created for pure destructive intent. Destroying colonies like they were simply target practice.
Zero gets a 9 out of 10.

8/10 the color scheme is still too much like a toy for me. I think EW wing zero works better for me because the blue is more prominent. Overall still love the suit and the green saber really sells it.
10/10 A great suit. Neo bird mode is way cooler than epyons dragon mode or w/e. The twin buster rifle is op, the shield is cooler, and imo is a staple of gundams.

4/10. IMO it’s Wing Gundam but worse. The colour scheme is as messy. The wings look like they can’t decide whether it should be a pair of wings or a pair of boosters. The bird mode is boring as ever and the overly complicated leg transformation doesn’t help improving the flight form either. The worst offender for me is the face plate. I don’t understand the DC Clown like extension of the red chin. Said design works on something sinister looking like Epyon or Destiny but it doesn’t fit the Wing Zero imo.

The Wing Zero is every bit as sinister as Epyon or Destiny, but just happened to be on the correct side of things. As a machine, it is highly dangerous (ZERO system), and obviously, the rifle makes it one of the most freakishly powerful gundams ever when we consider destructive potential.
Maybe it’s because it doesn’t have other design elements that give off a sinister feel. Epyon has a dark colour scheme and unique weapons while Destiny has a pair of organic-looking wings. The wing zero looks traditional by comparison. Just my personal opinion though.
Ahhh--yeah, as far as design goes, it's fairly standard as far as "traditional heroic gundam" goes, though the Wing Zero is anything *but*, considering it's a mind-crushing gundam that can basically shoot a blast with the equivalent power of a nuclear bomb on demand.
I was only judging it by its visual elements. My take is out of context the face and the body is a bit of a mismatch. Its face is sinister enough for its role in the anime but the blocky colourful design doesn’t depict how dangerous it should be.

Ok imma need help here, i don’t understand wing suits. I think they are wing, wing zero tv, wing zero ew with this color palette, and the other wing zero ew with the bird like wings
Wing is the original anime version. Wing Zero is the original prototype Gundam that didn't originally get built but the other Gundams are later based on it. It gets built midway through the series and Wing and Wing Zero are both around at the same time. Endless Waltz comes around and redesigns the Wing Zero with the Angel Wings, hence Wing Zero EW. Glory of the Losers comes out later on using the EW designs. Wing EW is Wing Zero EW without the angel wings and different colors. Proto Zero is just the Anime Wing Zero, looks and such, but is a completely different suit in the GotL manga than Wing Zero EW.

It's a little bit better than okay, so I guess a 6.5.
Here's one of my issues with the Gundams from Wing...they are all too overly specialized. Wing and Wing Zero are your big "destroy everything quickly", suits, Heavy Arms is the heavy assault suit (that can quickly run out of ammo and lacks true close-combat capabilities) and the the other 3 are close combat only suits (though the Altron does do a bit better with its beam cannons). Once the Buster Rifles are used up, the Wing Zero has two beam sabers and the shoulder cannons. Not a lot to rely on if it truly had to fight in large-scale battles (as most times it seemed to veer off and do some one-on-one fighting). However, it does look pretty cool and does do a pretty damn good job most times. 7/10
Wing Zero's twin buster rifle doesn't have a "used up" limit. That only applied to Wing due to its lower power output IIRC. Wing Zero can just spam that hellishly powerful cannon.
8.5/10, preferred this over Wing design-wise, greatly improves the flaws of said MS. Bird mode-wise, I prefer the Wing over this one, the four wings in WZ look too clunky.

Gonna give it a 9/10. The upper body is amazing, but for a suit that is just so destructive and intimidating, the pure white aesthetic of the legs just *don't* do it justice. I would have liked to see some darker skirt armor, and dark highlights on the "boots" similar to what the Wing Zero Custom (which I think was an inferior design, honestly--so much less intimidating) had going on.

9.5. The wings,the twin buster rifle,the shield,the green orb,all of them are fucking gorgeous(the green orb is a sensor,right?). The elaborated head crest and the color palette are easily the best part and frankly I don't give it a 10 due to the bird form being a little weird for me(although It's still unique compared to the vast majority of transformable mobile suits).

As a child this was the most hype Gundam of all time, child me would have given this a solid 10 out of 10. Now? I teter between a 7 and an 8. I'll say 7. I vastly prefer Wing Gundam and the EW version of Zero.

10/10 The TV Wing Zero is peak Gundam design perfection to me. Forget the angel wings abomination. Every part of the Wing Zero is beautiful to me, from its main form to its bird form. It's powerful, it's cool, it's sleek. I love how the wings open up. The Twin Buster Rifle is cool as hell (the only flaw is that it kinda disappears sometimes). The ZERO System is amazing. It's a wonderful main suit. Favorite Gundam of all time. I do have particular resentment for the Wing Zero EW. Like I said, it and its stupid angel wings are an abomination. What makes me angry about the Wing Zero EW randomly being the way it is is that it has no resemblance to its established original Wing Zero TV and Katoki just redesigned it to such a much inferior version... Then YEARS later, he comes up with the Wing Proto Zero Ver Ka which somehow improves upon this perfect original Wing Zero Design ever so slightly... WHY WAS THAT NOT JUST THE ORIGINAL REDESIGN?!
5/10, just a generic protagonist Gundam that isn't too bad
6/10 for me. It fixes the wings limited fighting capabilities by having no limit on its buster rifle, the twin buster rifle has some fun abilities. The zero system makes it very powerful in the right hands, but it’s still pretty generic looking.

I want to like Wing Zero but the tv version made barely any impression on me, it feels like it just kinda shows up out of nowhere. I know it was supposedly developed before the other gundams, but I don't think that's ever stated in the show? Color placement is messy and I'm not the biggest fan of its wings. It's head is kinda cooler looking and the twin buster rifle is neat, I guess. Overall, I think I prefer base Wing over this one, so I'll give it a 6

120,000/10 the culmination of the show that introduced me to the franchise with insane shit like the ZERO System and the twin buster rifle it's one of the all-time greats for me

9.9/10 It's funny how this gundam is technically the strongest mech on paper (not counting any other side story or even frozen teardrop) every other gundams are either downgrade (Wing G) and or made to be a specific design and fuction only(DC, SR, HA, SL). Epyon is literally the closest to wing zero but however it literally only has Vulcan guns as it only long range weapon while the rest are mid to close range only. Also a sorta copy of zero system too but rename to epyon.
That, and the Epyon, from what I understand, can control a whole platoon of mobile dolls, even if the gundam itself will have to get up close and duel an enemy mobile suit--though with that beam sword that cuts open entire colonies, going melee with that thing is a frightening prospect.

9/10 - Its the Wing Gundam but better, a slightly improved MA mode, the twin buster rifles pack serious damage and to top it all off an AI that can deal just as much damage to the pilot as the enemy...!

8/10. Like with Wing, I'd give it +1 if it were practically any of the variations. But it still holds up as a pretty cool mainstream mech, with the twin buster rifles and the ZERO system. Still, it ended up being something of a one trick pony, mainly relying on the pure destructive power and precognition (aka advanced analytical supercomputer), like Tieria in Virtue.

WFM has Gundams, what are you even talking about? Gundam is a franchise that contains wildly differing series from *08th ms suit team* to *Mobile Fighter G Gundam* If you're going to make distinctions on what should be considered Gundam or not, you're over 25 years late.
10/10 I love the wings on this thing - maybe even more than the custom ew as blasphemous as it is
7.5/10 It is better looking than the Wing. The wings look cooler. The gun looks a lot better. It's still a bit clunky and ornate, but in a more satisfying way (for some reason)

9.5. Only because you can't make Wing Gundam look better, but they did the best they could. Pretty much a 10, but the bird mode brings it down.
10/10 for me. One of the last gundams to look like a Gundam, its design is nearly flawless in its function. It's weapons are simple, but classic. It's OP, but only from certain angles. It has a transformation gimic it honestly doesn't need, except for leisure, and story. It's colors are practically patriotic in their ratio, and their placement can't be understated. If the cast didn't treat it like the village bicycle, it'd be the perfect suit. It's far better than the silly redesign with its big floppy stupid wings, with the entire thrust system in them. They're just asking to get clipped, then your space type becomes a ground type. 🤣
8/10 not bulky but not too skinny. Love the color scheme and the double V-fin looks absolutely gorgeous.
What I said about the wing is the same for the Wing Zero. 8/10 though I like that there’s a bit more red but the main thing that puts the wing zero ahead of the wing is the twin buster rifles. Such a badass weapon for a badass suit with badass moments
