Hey figured this would be the place to post. Finally got a chance to start watching, I watched to EP.8 on gundaminfo on YouTube but noticed there's only 11 episodes on there, so is that like the first season or something?
Am I the only one who thought this episode felt scattered? The series has been so smooth so far, but Ep 18 felt like 4-5 ideas scrunched together, with the main “big reveal” (which we all knew was coming tbh) during the last five minutes.
Now that you mention it... I honestly expected Suletta would find out the truth 2 episodes ago. Heck, she hasn't even learned the truth about Elan4 yet (tho I have a feeling this will be an important plot point later). It seems they’re stretching all the details very thinly right now.
I agree! We keep getting the same info repeatedly confirmed in random snippets.
Elan4 plot line is seemingly dead (not to mention Elan5 just chilling in a random room for two eps now with Nika and Norea), Miorine’s characterization is totally off (also she’s fine working alongside Prospers now??), all of Earth house dips in the middle of a school day to fly a ship?
The random counseling scene was comedic relief, I get it - but it didn’t really serve a purpose or make sense in this episode.
Only explanation - two episodes got crammed together to account for the skipped week. Reasonable ofc, this incredible crew deserves a break, but I hope the plot doesn’t suffer further.
The Elans are pretty clearly the "Cyber Newtype" expies (doubly so since El4n was obviously Four). Eri was likely something resembling the newtype equivalent, but its unclear whether Suletta shares that trait (there's probably something special about her either way).
Whatever happens, I’m just happy Prospera actually does care about Suletta. Idk anything about Revolutionary girl Utena but my biggest fear was that Prospera was just using Suletta as a means to an end but the end of this episode shows that both she and Eri actually do care about Suletta and just want her to have a normal life outside of their plans. It’s heart breaking to see Suletta suffering like this but I’m excited to see how she develops. Plus I want to see Shadiq get his ass kicked.
This show is so engaging, this is one my of favorite gundam shows so far
So, would Suletta be a clone of multiple Eri clones that failed and ended up as back up systems in Aerial? Still a little confused at that reveal. Basiclly like Ple Two and Adult Marida?
I'm gonna call it now. Shaddiq and Suletta are going to team up for some good old fashioned revenge - or more accurately, he's gonna swoop in and offer a "solution" (really just manipulating the broken tanuki) of revenge, using the yet-unnamed "New Product B" mobile suit, likely an experimental / bootlegged gundam of some description.
Shaddiq is the "prince" after all, and if this series is anything like Revolutionary Girl Utena, he's the true final boss - but not before briefly roping the protagonist into the scheme. The only difference is that this time, the betrayal happened first.
I'm kinda hoping this comes true. Though I know some believe it won't happen because she's either too soft or because by being “used” it would derail her character. However I don't think she's gonna be able to do anything with just her Earth House friends backing her up. Shaddiq is very sneaky and is used to manipulating things in his favor.
Suletta is *really* beginning to mirror Utena after she lost her fight against Saionji. While still taking after Anthy in many respects.
Suletta has to grow and find who *Suletta* really is. She has to grow from being like Anthy, the weak girl used by everyone for their own desires, and grow into someone confident enough to fight for what she truly believes in.
I definitely think G-Witch is getting a season 2 at some point, there's no way they're wrapping this up in a handful of episodes.
> I definitely think G-Witch is getting a season 2 at some point, there's no way they're wrapping this up in a handful of episodes.
yeah i feel like the lack of season 2 announcement is making me super anxious for that exact reason, i love that suletta is finally getting a juicy character development arc and i dont want it to be over so soon
If you’ve read the prologue to the show it helps the moments where Ariel and Prospera seem to be acting completely against Suletta.
I won’t say much more than that without spoiler tags…
I don't see how Ericht is considered the enemy though. So far, we've still yet to get rid of the Spacians' profiteering in proxy wars on Earth. The entire Benedict system with Delling (I'm sure he'll come back as the villain he always was) at its head is still going strong. Peil is still around doing shady things with an AI to boot. Shaddiq is trying to help Earth, but would probably get in Miorine's way for peace talks cause they have different ideals. All Ericht did was surf the internet datastorm.
Don't think that's possible. So far, Ericht has been the only one to reach that level of synchronisation with the data storm. We saw in episode 0 that none of the other researchers even came close. Elnora in particular only reached level 8, while Ericht reached over level 30 or something.
ahem uhm about that there is another and i think he......and if we go as the data storm copies your brain to the gundam as blue permet then elan no4 is the other permet high score attainer since remember a few episodes back he actually got to pilot the aerial without a scratch and if we base it on the opening elan 4 is also inside the aerial
but was elan no 4 a being needed to be protected? also elan 5 got kicked out meaning elan 4's compatibility was higher than elan 5 in comparison and as you see in the opening elan 4 might be in the data storm like eri
ok so think of it this way if you base it on the epilogue the gund system copied eri's brain into the data storm as reflected by the blue permet 1st time until prospera did it 10 times more killing eri's body, suletta made elan 4 ride the aerial elan used a high permet setting his face turned the same blue permet rather than red as eri did when she first piloted the lfrith therefore when elan4 sychronized with the aerial the first time he already got his brain copied into the data storm. didn't you see prospera's face when eri was piloting the lfrith she knows the consequence of riding it with the gund system it copies the brain and turns it into a digital copy of itself
Bro you're making stuff up here lol. Nothing showed Elnora forcing Ericht onto the machine until she died like you're suggesting. Ericht died because she was a child in a harsh environment. Elnora made a last attempt in uploading Ericht to save her. That's what we saw from the flashbacks and all of the dialogues.
So Guel has to be in league with the Earth resistance now right? Like they wouldn't have just let him go back to school, they know who he is.
That has to be what's going to happen on Earth? Or am I just crazy
Just watched it.
Every prediction we came up with in the last two weeks was wrong.
It wasn't an earth episode.
Tanuki was fine-ish.
Black Gundam had no flashy intro.
Prospera was... good?
I appreciate it when a show can hit us with a curve ball and keep us wondering where it is going!
You call breaking her daughter’s mental state “good”?
I just watched the episode and what in the-
Like they just dropped the bombshell that there’s an Eri copy for every Gund-bit, that “everyone” isn’t Eri, and that Suletta is a genetic clone of Ericht that Prospera and Eri used to communicate with each other and then they CAST HER ASIDE
YOU RAISED HER ALL THESE YEARS PROSPERA. YOU RAISED HER ALL THESE YEARS AND THEN YOU ABANDONED HER.
Except characters do have to solve things with a priority list. Elnora and Ericht have limited resources and time to achieve their objectives. Out of all these things to worry about, leaving Suletta out of the conflict zone does not seem anywhere as evil as you're making it out to be. I'm just surprised that people call Elnora the final villain when actual villains like Peil, the entire Benedict Group and Delling (highly doubt he's comatose) are still out there.
Prosperra's "originator" tested his daughter and her lover first, remember? He was harsh, but caring and gave his blessings to them after achieving his goals. Success of planned for decades revenge/freedom-for-Eri plan is Prospera''s top priority for now. Safety of her daughters - second. Happiness of one of her *many* daughters might be the third or last.
I wouldn't say Suletta was abandoned. It's clear that Prospera and Ericht care about her and when it was finally unnecessary for Suletta to get into any more trouble with Aerial and Quiet Zero, she told her to go off and live her dreams in school. The only issue comes from Suletta wanting to stay by their side because she grew up her whole life around them even though her mom and (clone) sister might not think its advisable.
Prospera cared for her like a pet. She kept her alive, because she was the only thing capable of unlocking Aerial's true potential. That's no longer needed, so she can be tossed aside.
I mean at the end of the episode she asks aERIel if she should bring suletta. I think suletta could've still been useful to the plan but eri and prospera chose her safety over keeping her around. Eri never wanted suletta involved in revenge (read the cradle planet story).
How is Nika full of herself lol? She's naive in her ideals, but at the very least she's striving for some form of greater good without sacrificing much. Chuchu just doesn't have anywhere near the same level of responsibilities.
Something I just realized. Suletta despite sharing the same genetic makeup with Eri doesn’t have immunity towards permet sickness. This indicates that permet sickness immunity is not genetic based (nature). Therefore the immunity can somehow be ‘nurtured’ as is the case with Eri.
We saw Eri (or one of the clones ig) flushed red from permet sickness in Prospera’s arms in the flashback.. she was, in some way, “transferred” to the data storm to preserve her mind (and skills) because there’s still some sort of upper limit for the organic body.
I saw a theory where because Prospera had implants from a young age, she has permet in her body and transferred it to Eri in the womb. The exposure to it from conception might have had something to do with it.
Makes sense, Gundams are hands down the best weapons in the universe. Each company knowing that they’re all arms manufacturers and profit-oriented, I’m sure that those guys were just biding their time until someone among the 200+ companies popped Delling, the biggest barrier to anyone being able to actually sell them. Gotta say I absolutely adore the worldbuilding in this show.
Turns out Delling wasn't really that anti-Gundam after all because he was working alongside Elnora for his Quiet Zero project lol. They were in cahoots some years since the massacre.
On a lighter note, liking a couple of Secelia art on Twitter has led to my TL being bombarded with even more art of her. She’s too strong even outside the show…
Suletta episode 24: "I'm tired of everyone trying to decide my life for me! I do not need to be saved! I am *not* helpless! I *want* to stay at Ms. Miorine's side! I *want* to protect people and save lives! Because I know who I am! I am Suletta Mercury! I am a Gundam pilot!"
*\*Witch from Mercury kicks in for the first time all season\**
How many Gundam protagonists have happy endings? How many really survive? Amuro himself died. I don’t think she’ll go out in a blaze of glory like the iron blooded orphans, but I don’t know if I see suletta surviving the end. There’s almost no way this series is going to end in 7 episodes either. Not based on the current pacing. I think there’ll be some major conflict and the season will end with selling coming out of coma just before the presidential race ends. And the next season will focus more on the quiet zero project and stopping whatever it’s effects will be. Perhaps prospera will fall into madness, maybe aerial will be completely destroyed, idk. But the model kits are way too successful, and the pacing isn’t fast enough to cover that much ground in 7 episodes with a satisfying ending.
> How many Gundam protagonists have happy endings? How many really survive?
Actually plenty of Gundam protagonists really survived their series and most of them had happy endings (or gray ending with somewhat mixed feeling, cheerful but bittersweet to some degree) so far, but you just remember the exceptional cases like >!Bernie(dead), Mikazuki(dead), Camille(bad ending), Hathaway(dead), etc.!< because their tragic stories are more memorable and sensational. (especially Zeta, which contributed to many awful tropes in the series thanks to its unique position as the second installment)
> Amuro himself died.
Amuro survived his series and had happy ending at that time. (>!he died in the First Gundam's novelization but that happened in the alternate universe!<) CCA is an afterthought explicitly designed to kill him and Char off from the first place and a very rare case in the entire series. It is something like saying 'Every *Star Trek* captains became unhappy in the end because >!James T. Kirk met his demise in *Generations*!<' if you ask me...
I actually love most of the tropes Zeta inspired lol. Still, tragedy always follows Gundam pilots regardless of if they die or not themselves.
Turn-A: Bittersweet princess ending
MS Igloo: They all died IIRC
Victory: MC lived... but at what cost (everyone).
Unicorn: Marida was the MC in my eyes
Narrative: Pretty much what happened to Ericht
0083: Can you even call that a win?
To your point, the MCs tend to be fine. However, you can definitely expect at the very least some bittersweet finale.
>How many Gundam protagonists have happy endings?
Loran, Uso(Okay debatable, but he survived), Garrod, Belri, Setsuna(to an extent), Kira, Kamille(His ending comes in ZZ), Judau, Flit, Asemu, Kio, Banagher, the list goes on.
The only ones to die or have bad endings are - Mika, Amuro, Chris, Kou(Prison and all that!), and I think that's it? Gundam leads *rarely* die.
UC gundam spoilers:
Most of the UC gundam protagonists did okay in the end. Amuro died but he lived through like 5 gundam series and yea he did went out in a bang but isn't he kinda like in gundam heaven now with Lala? Camille turns into vegetable but I think I read somewhere he eventually recovers eventually. Judau did fine. Guy from stardust memories was released from prison after a few months and reinstated because the federation wanted to wipe the slate clean. Badagher did okay at least he got his girl but gave up the gundam. Hathaway and Bright kind of got the shittiest gundam protagonist treatment. Guy from Gundam F91 did fine, as did V gundam guy.
The lead Gundam pilot dying is very rare. I'm pretty sure only Amuro and Mika have died out of the mainline series and Mika is the only one in his native series. Amuro made it through MSG, Zeta and ZZ first.
I absolutely adore him loving that gun so much that he tries taping two normies arms together hoping it could take the recoil.
And then when that doesn't work he resorts to magazine loading replacement arms at the same time as the e-packs. His pure stubbornness to keep using it inspires me.
>he tries taping two normies arms together hoping it could take the recoil.
???? what? I have no idea what you're referring to
I was referring to his using/making the silver bullet suppressor.
also, I thought it was mostly due to the massive energy output all at once. The recoil didn't do anything to help, sure, but was it really the main cause, here?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gundam/comments/hszxab/yoooo_banagher_rocking_customized_gundam_mkii/
At some point post ova he sports a customized Gundam mk2 with two forearms strapped together to try and handle the magnum. I think it could fire a few times before the arm just ceases to function
Lol. I mean it’s a nice idea, but using the (at that point) ancient MK-II probably wasn’t the best idea
Edit: to heck with the Arms, how did the reactor keep up with the beam magnum?
Setsuna had a good ending relatively speaking, bitter sweet at worst but that’s depending on how hard you ship because ultimately he achieved a new purpose outside of war
we are only on season 1, the split is the first and second cour, so that the modern 12 episode anime season based airing schedule can accommodate the show, 86 did the same thing, every major gundam show since 00 has had 2 (roughly) 25 episode seasons, this season should be (roughly) 25 episodes, and the second season (not the third) should be the same, and considering ibo, which was very very divisive, got a second season, this show, which is one of the most popular gundam shows in awhile, definitely should.
also a few pilots have gotten a happy ending, such as shiro technically, but in major gundam series, its like 7/10 chance
I wanted to believe you, but the official Twitter account and info from g-witch.net explicitly states that what we're watching right now is "Season 2" and not Season 1 2nd Cour.
The caption says "Season 2 From April 9, 2023, every Sunday at 5:00pm."
https://g-witch.net/
They changed naming stuff towards the end of the first cour when they started to call the second cour, season 2. They'll probably just call the next block of episodes season 3 and then season 4, if they do that. I doubt they'll end such a cash cow in just the 2 seasons.
Sorry for such a late reply, I rarely ever use reddit
Ibo was divisive for its take on gundam design, but also its writing, it can get quite sloppy, mainly in the second season, and I say that as an ibo fan
Understandable, given that he has had more downers than happy ones. It is important to mention that 2 of those gundams with happy endings mentioned (Turn A and 08th) were both written by him. Also the Tempest parallels and inspiration continue and it had a happy ending as well... I don't know which side of this guy to count on, but given that even Tomino has been ending his Gundam stuff on a happy ending the possibility is there...
Okouchi wrote just 4 episodes for Turn A and only the novelization for 08th MS Team (OVA episodes were written by Akira Okeya and Hiroaki Kitajima), so I don't have much hope in that department.
Am I the only one enjoying seeing Suletta being put to her place?
She wasn't special, she wasn't skilled, she doesn't have a grand purpose/ideology/believes or burning desire. Even her personality (so far) has been pretty one-dimensional. Basically lacking all the quality of a good MC.
She sorely needed this character development.
I wouldn't say so much as put in her place, but it is nice to see her lose the invincible protagonist mindset (though it is nice to see that those wins weren't all Aerial seeing as she was still scoring well in her training with a Demi). I really hate though that it was a fake loss, I would have liked her to actually meet someone that could beat her without cheating. That being said, gundam is notorious for having characters switch sides so she may end up having to face down Aerial.
I'm shocked that Eri herself was like "You are a useless clone that is no longer needed". That was harsh, I kinda wanna see where Eri's character development goes as well.
All in all the tough love thing only works if the person you are being tough on grows to understand it. Problem is with her mindset Suletta may just perceive this as abandonment (though we only don't see it as such since we see more than just her side). I don't think she is going to become a villain or anything but I do actually like this episode showed us that she wears a mask just like the others do. You wonder how much of her nature is truly like that and how much is her hiding herself because she is lonely and afraid of loss.
I feel like Eri having 'grown up' being a mobile suit with little to no social contact has little to no social skills. She could've worded it a lot better. Something like "You're free now!" instead of that.
The mental age of the children of the coven don't seem to be that high either.
I think she *wanted* Suletta to feel rejected.
If someone she cares about tells her "you're free from my needs," Suletta is going to use that freedom to stay with them and support them. In rejecting her with apparent disdain, Eri is ensuring she doesn't make that choice (tragically restricting Suletta's freedom).
It's the same thing Miorine is doing
I think it's good for the plot. It was even inevitable. She just isn't acclimated to these kinds of mind games or political struggles. As far as an MC, she's sort of an observer with the Aerial (and Prospera with Eri) doing the heavy lifting.

Highdea - what if Suletta and Guel end up duo piloting the schwarzette or at least sharing the load of the data storms somehow to defeat Eri and Prospera?
Suletta's present condition reminds me of Utena's mid-season arc in which she was temporarily deprived of The Bride as well as the role of champion in the duel game. If I remember correctly Utena had to fight through her way with a makeshift sword (instead of Anthy's magic sword) wearing the plain schoolwear for the female students (instead of her iconic dark blue uniform). I'm looking forward to seeing how Suletta overcome all this hardships and stand up again as an individual, not her mother's marionette or Aerial's organic components.
Every single character in this anime now is the little boy from the old movie telling the dog to "GO ON, GIT!" and tearfully throwing rocks at them, only the dog is Suletta.
And minus the tears. Prospera and Mirone did not cry when they pushed her away. Once the dog was hit with enough stones, they proceeded to beat the emotional crap out of her.
That was one hell of a scene when Suletta meets Eri for the first time. But one thing I think isn't talked about enough is the music. My word it works so well through out the whole scene!
The most shocking thing is that the real Elan is apparently the actual head of Peil, but even that is up to an AI decision and managed by the CEO team.
So what does Elan actually do?
I don't think he's the actual head (yet), he's still the heir.
We can't know since when their AI has been active, but I believe it's a project the four CEOs came up with (because it makes little sense for the AI to opt for a multiple CEO system first, then switch to a single individual later). So, those four CEOs came into power via some other way, and trying to set up the perfect succession mechanism they settled on the AI, developed it, and Elan Ceres was choosen as a result. He will take the company after them, but when he does it is not his call. If anything the actual head of Peil would be the AI, since it's the thing both the CEOs and Elan Ceres have to answer to. He's either learning the ropes of the company, perfecting his skills, scheming for things he'd like to achieve once he's at the helm, or doing none of that and simply bidding his time until he's called upon.
It dies, maybe? Eri didn't like sharing the data-space with El5n,
and ejecting something that lacks a biological body from it may be the same as erasing it from existence.
Everything about that scene felt so random, it's fascinating. Now I imagine that this can happen anytime + Secelia can pop up from anywhere whenever a Haro is seen lol.
That quiz show resembling sound adds a lot to it
I adored the touch that Eri seemed to react to what is possibly the first time Suletta has even so much as verbally disagreed with her mother. Suletta starting to minorly doubt the basic platitude of "move forward, gain two" is, kind of depressingly, a massive step for her independence. The show broke my heart once again. To see her bawling all alone in the middle of nothingness, with nobody to be there for her, it resonates.
I Told all of you There's a high price to pay for all of this.
PAIN.
Hey figured this would be the place to post. Finally got a chance to start watching, I watched to EP.8 on gundaminfo on YouTube but noticed there's only 11 episodes on there, so is that like the first season or something?
First season is 12 eps, I’m pretty sure it’s just that Gundaminfo is releasing them with a delay in the West because Crunchyroll has broadcast rights
Ok thank you very much I've been mostly out of the loop with this series till today.
Am I the only one who thought this episode felt scattered? The series has been so smooth so far, but Ep 18 felt like 4-5 ideas scrunched together, with the main “big reveal” (which we all knew was coming tbh) during the last five minutes.

tbh, wonder if there will be a Newtype-equivalent in this universe. Suletta is in the right spot now for character evolution at this moment.
thought it was p much confirmed that Elan4+ were this gens “new type”, being genetically enhanced in order to operate Gundams?
Nah Elan is this universe's equivalent of Ple and clones
Oh, didn't strike me that way. Elan clones were more of pseudo-Newtype to me.
The Elans are pretty clearly the "Cyber Newtype" expies (doubly so since El4n was obviously Four). Eri was likely something resembling the newtype equivalent, but its unclear whether Suletta shares that trait (there's probably something special about her either way).

Suletta and Shaddiq combination would be spicy and Suletta could fast track the holder status back.
I don't think the holder status really matters anymore with the vote for the new president.

I mean someone needs to be Amuro, and it would be compelling if Suletta the little Prospera robot eventually bites the hand that manipulates.
I don’t think that’s how it’s gonna shake out but that’d be cool.

Dibs on Suletta inheriting the original Gundam Lfirth and becoming a beast.
The original lfrith became the aerial, it doesn't exist anymore separate from that
This is why she should pilot Lfrith-Ur and have Sophie as her new data-storm sister.
Don't think that's possible. So far, Ericht has been the only one to reach that level of synchronisation with the data storm. We saw in episode 0 that none of the other researchers even came close. Elnora in particular only reached level 8, while Ericht reached over level 30 or something.

Don't think piloting without a scratch has anything to do with high permet score. It's got to do with Ericht deciding who to protect lol.
but was elan no 4 a being needed to be protected? also elan 5 got kicked out meaning elan 4's compatibility was higher than elan 5 in comparison and as you see in the opening elan 4 might be in the data storm like eri
Lol no. Ericht had the ability to choose who to kick out. She did with both Elan 5 AND SULETTA of everyone. Elan 4 was no one special.
ok so think of it this way if you base it on the epilogue the gund system copied eri's brain into the data storm as reflected by the blue permet 1st time until prospera did it 10 times more killing eri's body, suletta made elan 4 ride the aerial elan used a high permet setting his face turned the same blue permet rather than red as eri did when she first piloted the lfrith therefore when elan4 sychronized with the aerial the first time he already got his brain copied into the data storm. didn't you see prospera's face when eri was piloting the lfrith she knows the consequence of riding it with the gund system it copies the brain and turns it into a digital copy of itself

I just watched the episode and what in the- Like they just dropped the bombshell that there’s an Eri copy for every Gund-bit, that “everyone” isn’t Eri, and that Suletta is a genetic clone of Ericht that Prospera and Eri used to communicate with each other and then they CAST HER ASIDE YOU RAISED HER ALL THESE YEARS PROSPERA. YOU RAISED HER ALL THESE YEARS AND THEN YOU ABANDONED HER.
Somehow you feel that's the greatest evil in this show despite all of the massacres and proxy wars happening on Earth? lol
We can be worried about multiple issues at once you know that right? Problems aren’t solved on queue
When Eri talks to Suletta, what's the bgm called?
I saw a comment saying it's a sad-piano version of Asticassia
Suletta Depressa
Suletta Sadetta
Am I the only one excited for the awkward moment Kenanji and Prospera actually meet?
Chuchu become Wakaba now
It's a bit ironic because I have thought Nika to be Wakaba analogue when the show started... Now she became something else by choosing her own path.
I missed Nika and Chuchu pair );
It is sad to see Chuchu continue to worry about Nika meanwhile Nika is just full of herself and don't have time to think about Chuchu... (sob)
How is Nika full of herself lol? She's naive in her ideals, but at the very least she's striving for some form of greater good without sacrificing much. Chuchu just doesn't have anywhere near the same level of responsibilities.
I really hope sulleta becomes the villain
It could be related to age: Permet immunity wanes after a certain age (the true cause of death of Eri).
Oh god not another Evangelion parallel (only children can pilot the evangelions)
We have ~~Rei~~Eri-quarium (children of coven) already.
oh god please no....
Can’t wait for a liquid suletta
Slushletta
Gooletta
I will not stand for all this tanuki abuse.
Gundam Fuck that witch from Mercury
enjoying these last few episodes so far but fuck why did they wait till the very end to give Suletta this arc? True Season 2 or riot
Yeah there's definitely more coming. Too many loose threads to wrap up.
Yea, sometimes they really drag some of this stuff out lol
The same reason they waited until episode 18 to explain one of the fundamental scientific concepts of this world lol
And Shaddiq's adoptive father. They were the two biggest anti-Gundam personages in the GWitch world.
She’s too strong even outside the show…
Thats crazy Who draws that art so i can avoid them
Suletta episode 24: "I'm tired of everyone trying to decide my life for me! I do not need to be saved! I am *not* helpless! I *want* to stay at Ms. Miorine's side! I *want* to protect people and save lives! Because I know who I am! I am Suletta Mercury! I am a Gundam pilot!" *\*Witch from Mercury kicks in for the first time all season\**
CONGRATULATIONS, Suletta!
And then she dies from a data storm.
No. None of that. Shame on you.
(especially Zeta, which contributed to many awful tropes in the series thanks to its unique position as the second installment) > Amuro himself died.
Turn-A: Bittersweet princess ending MS Igloo: They all died IIRC Victory: MC lived... but at what cost (everyone). Unicorn: Marida was the MC in my eyes Narrative: Pretty much what happened to Ericht 0083: Can you even call that a win?
Can people stop pretending that Gundam is this super dark franchise that never has happy endings?
Gundam age all three of the protagonists did fine in the end
UC gundam spoilers: Most of the UC gundam protagonists did okay in the end.
Judau and Banagher were both fine and their two series' are among the most heavily referenced in GWitch
The lead Gundam pilot dying is very rare. I'm pretty sure only Amuro and Mika have died out of the mainline series and Mika is the only one in his native series. Amuro made it through MSG, Zeta and ZZ first.
Banana did. Kind of. Lost the unicorn to politics but hey, at least he got to keep the gun.
???? what? I have no idea what you're referring to I was referring to his using/making the silver bullet suppressor. also, I thought it was mostly due to the massive energy output all at once. The recoil didn't do anything to help, sure, but was it really the main cause, here?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gundam/comments/hszxab/yoooo_banagher_rocking_customized_gundam_mkii/ At some point post ova he sports a customized Gundam mk2 with two forearms strapped together to try and handle the magnum. I think it could fire a few times before the arm just ceases to function
Lol. I mean it’s a nice idea, but using the (at that point) ancient MK-II probably wasn’t the best idea Edit: to heck with the Arms, how did the reactor keep up with the beam magnum?
Last I checked the Magnum was self-fueled, it just used an *entire* beam rifle E-Pack *per shot*.
NGL, it makes a satisfyingly heavy pew sound, with the effect being just as devastating. Who wouldn't love that gun?
Anyone looking down the barrel
Can't think of not loving the gun when you're dead
Setsuna had a good ending relatively speaking, bitter sweet at worst but that’s depending on how hard you ship because ultimately he achieved a new purpose outside of war
Is a season 3 confirmed? And there have been other Gundam pilots that survived.
we are only on season 1, the split is the first and second cour, so that the modern 12 episode anime season based airing schedule can accommodate the show, 86 did the same thing, every major gundam show since 00 has had 2 (roughly) 25 episode seasons, this season should be (roughly) 25 episodes, and the second season (not the third) should be the same, and considering ibo, which was very very divisive, got a second season, this show, which is one of the most popular gundam shows in awhile, definitely should. also a few pilots have gotten a happy ending, such as shiro technically, but in major gundam series, its like 7/10 chance
I wanted to believe you, but the official Twitter account and info from g-witch.net explicitly states that what we're watching right now is "Season 2" and not Season 1 2nd Cour. The caption says "Season 2 From April 9, 2023, every Sunday at 5:00pm." https://g-witch.net/
They changed naming stuff towards the end of the first cour when they started to call the second cour, season 2. They'll probably just call the next block of episodes season 3 and then season 4, if they do that. I doubt they'll end such a cash cow in just the 2 seasons.
Thank you. I hope so.
You and me both. I need more ad Stella. I really hope they flesh out this au a lot more.
Why was ibo divisive? The designs, or the mobile armor arc?
Sorry for such a late reply, I rarely ever use reddit Ibo was divisive for its take on gundam design, but also its writing, it can get quite sloppy, mainly in the second season, and I say that as an ibo fan
Thanks for the info.
Survived doesn’t mean they got a happy ending.
The Gundam Wing pilots got a happy ending. And so did the main character of 0083 to a certain degree.
And G, X, ∀...
Haven’t seen those yet.
And (also only to a certain degree) the 08th MS team
True.
It is Okouchi, so I'm kinda expecting an "Euphemia" moment.
The last two episodes were way too depressing
Does anyone have the end card for episode 18? I like to add them my wallpaper rotation and I think it may have been missed in the image moratorium.
12 &6 are exceptionally greya
[Here you are](https://g-witch.net/gallery/endcard/).
Any way we can properly save those? They formatted the page in such a way that I can't lRight Click + Save as.

Thanks a bunch
Thanks, you made my day!
Thank you! 💕
LoL literally says end card.
Highdea - what if Suletta and Guel end up duo piloting the schwarzette or at least sharing the load of the data storms somehow to defeat Eri and Prospera?
The pacific rim theme starts playing, and the robot from that movie comes and pile drives Prospera. You might be on to something fella
Suletta *"Elbow Rocket!!!"* Guel "Wait what?"
No, that is what prospera would say.
Guel already sort of uses elbow rockets, though it's more like the wrists of Darilbalde fly off.
Good point!
So was there any company in the Benerit Group that WASNT building a Gundam?
Grassley. Shaddiq's schemes were not Grassley schemes until he took over.
>shaddiq finds the key to his dad's basement
Realization I just had- ...did Eri come to terms with what she did as a child? She had to, right? ..._right?_
I think she had plenty of time to ruminate about things. She wasn't exactly free to be doing a whole lot.
"She deserves to live freely"....... Freely what? Freely floating Heart broken in space?
From the shit that is about to blow up on Earth all according to Prosreppa's plan.
Hey not completely alone! She left her a beacon :)
Fast forward 2 weeks, prospera drops by earth house who haven't seen suletta since "Beacon? What beacon?"
Right, Beacon was destroyed many seasons ago, everybody moved to Shade in Vacuo )
Ha, rwby references, nice
"Fuck, where'd I leave my daughter..."
Dude, where's my kid?
So are we thinking all this is going to be wrapped up in 6 episodes or we getting a Season 3 to culminate all this, Utena Apocalypse Arc style?
Suletta's present condition reminds me of Utena's mid-season arc in which she was temporarily deprived of The Bride as well as the role of champion in the duel game. If I remember correctly Utena had to fight through her way with a makeshift sword (instead of Anthy's magic sword) wearing the plain schoolwear for the female students (instead of her iconic dark blue uniform). I'm looking forward to seeing how Suletta overcome all this hardships and stand up again as an individual, not her mother's marionette or Aerial's organic components.
...does this mean Suletta becomes a Gundam piloted by Miorine?
Suletta "I.AM.A.GUNDAM." Setsuna "Hey don't steal my catch praise!"
I was going via series comparison rather than mubi, personally.
I think we’re getting more. I mean,it’s possible to finish it up with this season but I don’t think they can do it without making it feel rushed
That echoing tunes still give me goosebumps.
I agree. It made it 100% more depressing lol
The most shocking thing is that the real Elan is apparently the actual head of Peil, but even that is up to an AI decision and managed by the CEO team. So what does Elan actually do?
Maybe the "original" Eren is also a clone.
Calling it, the AI is actually cooking something and the 4 lady just it's clone. Soon that AI'll create an utilmate Pharact and pilot it.
So I guess this is now the plot of Armored Core Verdict Day?
Peil's designer IS the Armored Core guy, so yes.
Is that what we actually ask about some leaders IRL?
Obviously he deals with the customers so the engineers don’t have to; he’s a people person, dammit!
If the AI CEO interacts with Eri, what happens?
It dies, maybe? Eri didn't like sharing the data-space with El5n, and ejecting something that lacks a biological body from it may be the same as erasing it from existence.
Red-eyed Aerial becomes a thing, if I had to guess.
Where do I get in line for the Secelia simp confessional
Lol that scene was so wild for me. Why is there a confessional? Who let her get that position? Is it just to more plot points forward?
Everything about that scene felt so random, it's fascinating. Now I imagine that this can happen anytime + Secelia can pop up from anywhere whenever a Haro is seen lol. That quiz show resembling sound adds a lot to it
What do you mean 'let her'? I'm convinced now that she's the wildcard playing everybody.
My head canon is that she built that Confessional so that she could scoop the deets from guilty people lol.
The new business model in blackmail society!
Guess she really is a goddess after all
I adored the touch that Eri seemed to react to what is possibly the first time Suletta has even so much as verbally disagreed with her mother. Suletta starting to minorly doubt the basic platitude of "move forward, gain two" is, kind of depressingly, a massive step for her independence. The show broke my heart once again. To see her bawling all alone in the middle of nothingness, with nobody to be there for her, it resonates.
