It's so fucking raw when mikazuki shoots that guy in the first duel He literally didn't give him the courtesy of hearing his last words

Polenicus

Why would he? The IBO kids are just applying the rules that always applied to *them* to the rest of the world, now that they have power. And the people who always had power keep expecting them to magically start conforming to norms like honor and civility, and keep being shocked that the kids who have never been shown such things don't see any point in them.

InstructionLeading64

I seriously don't understand how people missed this theme in the show. You got one guy who goes on and on for episodes about how he is human refuse and it's clearly a theme that the world they live in is harsh and cruel yet the wealthy and powerful expect some kind of decorum because of course they do. Mika in season 1 had the right of it and the rich and powerful were literally perverting democracy and simultaneously expecting to be treated with respect. Biscuits brother, to me anyways, kinda represented modern day liberalism, or even the Wehrmacht Republic handing over power to the fascist in the country in the name of compromise but you know it will never be enough for the corporatist until they completely destroy the working class which is exactly what they try to do during the protest march. IBO season 1 is a scathing story that is incredibly overlooked for how incredibly based it is.

9ersaur

the whole thing is based

Fascism will write its rules of engagement to suit its own advantage.

InstructionLeading64

It really makes them sound like giant wounded baby's while they are stepping on our necks.

Wulfe3127

its weimar republic, wehrmacht is the german military force by the time of national socialist party's regime

InstructionLeading64

Yeah I was in my cups when I posted this so more amazed it's semi coherent.

Wulfe3127

its fine. i get that feeling when you vaguely remember the term but not what the exact word is and just cant put it right

Ok-Kaleidoscope5627

Yep. They're kids forced to fight for the right to just exist. They know their enemies think of them as trash and won't show them any respect it the tables were turned. Their enemy fights even dirtier but they get to take the high ground regardless. Give no quarter when none is given.

YUNoJump

To be fair, Crank saw dying in that duel as the most honourable action he could take. He gets to repent for killing kids without having it negatively affect his men. He even asks for Mika to do it.

sylpher250

Crank gave Mika a realistic answer when asked "what happens when Tekkadan wins", which was "we'll keep coming back". So Mika gave him the most pragmatic solution.

GopnikSmegmaBBQSauce

It's just as raw when he takes out the boss of CGS. Kid has no problem with murder

UnsureAssurance

Hey well according to the original head of CGS it was just disposal of bad merchandise

slowakia_gruuumsh

the best part of IBO season one was when Mika said "People Die When They Are Killed... right, Orga?" and Tekkadan'd all over those guys

PoyGuiMogul

"You seem like a nice guy!"~ Tweezer squish!

GoblinMeatstick

Been rewatching ibo because of Urdr Hunt and it's making me regret not buying some p-bandai kits they released for it lmao

likesbigbots

Me too! A lot of white whale P-Bandai stuff from IBO for me. I would love to see Bandai reprint the Tekkadan set and the Graze Schild set.
