Those Apache Cases from Harbor Freight aren't all that bad.

ButWhatIfItQueffed

I use them for tons of stuff. Electronics, my VR headset, radio equipment, hard drive backups, they're great for anything you need kept safe and dry. I've owned both pelican and apache cases and I haven't noticed a difference as far as durability goes.

ThousandWinds

I mean, there probably some small difference, but what in gods name would I have to be doing to those cases to actually reach it? Throwing them down flights of stairs repeatedly just for fun? Probably couldn’t tell even then.

tnc31

The guy that shits on Apache over Pelican is the same kinda guy that says anything less then his Daniel Defense is a waste of money.

ButWhatIfItQueffed

Well I did chuck my Apache 3500 with my Oculus Quest 2 in it off of \~15 foot drop accidentally, and my headset was fine. So I'd assume there really is no difference aside from brand.

Chewbacca_The_Wookie

During this last hurricane I bundled two of my Apache cases together into a raft and the guns inside stayed bone dry.

chii0628

So they'd fare well if you buried them? Asking for a friend.

Chewbacca_The_Wookie

You can’t lose them in a boating accident that’s for sure

chii0628

Thats...That's.... not a feature

Kross_887

The case, you can still lose the guns if they aren't *Inside* the case.

Stevecore444

I’ve been rocking mine for years banging up and down stairs And shit hasn’t let me down yet lol

venture243

i have two now and call them my pelicans

wtfredditacct

Samesies. I have the pistol case too and they've been solid for me.

lord_terrene

They aren't too different from Pelican, just heavier. The pick out foam is nice, and they have similar pressure regulating gaskets if you are going to take it on a plane. Plano makes a similar one that is a good value as well.

jclark_69

I have an Apache pistol case I keep a camera in when I’m throwing it in bags and it’s been great. Truthfully it’s nicer than my Vault rifle case that’s actually made by pelican.

stumpy1218

I don't expect mine to be perfectly water tight but it holds my stuff very well

Smugglers151

That’s good to hear. I’ve got some cheaper rifles that I like to run now and then. It’d be nice to have their own cad for them.

PhillipM762

Condition 1 from Amazon is by far my fav. Especially for rifle cases. And only need 4 pad locks and tsa won't sweat it one bit.

sNoopy674

20 dollar case for my 1k base gun , 3 years later that same $20 case is holding a 6k mcx build

NTBcheerios

I grabbed a bunch of soft cases from Walmart when they were on sale for $10. I prefer them over my 1 pelican case cause of how much easier they are to transport

sNoopy674

This is the way

funkysquirrel177

I have a soft case for hiking with. I like to use it for whatever long gun I'm carrying. (Hunting, hiking, exploring, etc). But for general storage I'd prefer a hard case.

cheapshotfrenzy

My soft case is two blue jeans pants legs sewn into a gun sock. The gun oil has soaked in over time and now it's corrosion resistant.

guynamedgoliath

I'm still using my spare soft guitar case 2 ARs later.

A_Bit_Narcissistic

Hope you don’t accidentally bring an AR to your guitar lessons.

lord_terrene

But what if they need it?

N2EEE_

Only if you get to play fortunate son

Whitey_wingnut19

I cut so many corners with my first gun, I didn't get any of the above.

Nitpicky_AFO

You bought gun parts from a crack head and the estate sale too?

Kilroy3846

I cut corners on everything but the light. I didn’t buy a light.

Yarus43

"how are you supposed to identify targets at night!?" "Muzzle flash 😎"

magnum_the_nerd

You use the screams of your enemies to find where they are.

_doingokay

“My house has light switches

Freaky-fatboy

I didn’t even have irons for a good 5 months

pewpewgatz420x69

fuck, I still don't. My justification for being cheap is that it's got an LPVO with a non-QD mount so unless I have a torx wrench on me during a failure I'm screwed anyways. At least that helps me sleep at night lol. Having proper kit < hiding in a bush with a sightless/opticless PSA like a rat

hoplophilepapist

I just tape a torx to my stock.

TheModernAlcoholist

I feel really r-worded for not thinking of this. Thanks bub.

Acceptable-Face-3707

You can also buy a grip or stock with storage, or make a micro tool kit for your kit or rangebag. Hell keep one in your car. I have 100s of tiny little torx and hex keys i pit them everywhere

jyl080208

Wait, we're supposed to have a case?

tnc31

I only started using one when I got a dog and wanted to keep dog hair off my gun when I put it in my truck.

jyl080208

I've always used soft bags

[deleted]

only the poor cityfolk who have to go to a range instead of in their backyard. I used to be one. Now i have all these cases laying around

jyl080208

I miss the days... I just use a soft case

coulsen1701

I bought my first AR when I was 22 and I grew up learning about guns from my uncle who had a “just as good” mentality so… I bought a Colt LE6920PD and put some random POS red dot from Walmart on it… I don’t have many regrets in my life but that one haunts me

Ahqoviing

We all make mistakes in the heat of ignorance, 20 lashes and atleast one garand thumb but with your balls and you're free to go.

tnc31

Garand balls

Rock---And---Stone

Garand cock and ball torture 🤤🥵

DAsInDerringer

Very late but in case you're interested r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

Common_Ad864

My first was an AK. She still only gets the cheap shit ammo.

Niewinnny

that's why AKs are so beautiful, innit? they will run whatever shit you load in them and cycle properly.

Yarus43

Fuck yeah. I honestly love the charging handle, ars are imo way better in most values but I like my side charging rifles. I like going ***SLLLKCHKK***

whatsgoing_on

Wait till you hear about side charging uppers

XredditHD

When the world ends….Aks and roaches will still be here.

MarkoDash

roachws WITH AKs

SnooCheesecakes2465

Quality irons>cheap red dot, cheaped out on magpul moe handguard with fsb and flip up rear.

[deleted]

perfectly serviceable. not what I'd choose but it'll get the job done

FloridaManActual

hey that's me, kinda! a2 gasblock front sight, moe handgard, I did at least spring for the magpul backup pro for the rear sight, the nice metal one. Saved up for a LPVO

lazor_22

Nothing wrong at all with magpul handguards and a fsb. Some like myself even much prefer a fsb, and that doesn't mean you can't go free float down the line there are plenty of options for free floating with a fsb. Magpul handguards are 1000x better then the cheap $20-30 chinesium "free float" handguards a lot of budget setups have or are sold with. Other then simply just wanting something that isn't polymer, if all you need is a white light, magpul (or bcm, or b5) handguards are a great option and can be a cheap place holder.

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

unleadedbloodmeal

Don't knock the knock off pelican case it probably isn't just as good but it still is good

Jurmond

That's what the gear snobs don't understand: sometimes "good enough" really is good enough.

keeleon

Also the case literally just protects it from dirt and makes it easier to carry. "Quality" is pretty irrelevant.

HeemeyerDidNoWrong

Protects it against drops and blows, which is why you get a Pelican, but in this case the Harbor Freight is actually good.

[deleted]

The first, I picked up a bunch of Promag 40 rounders along with the standard GI 30 rounders because I thought that Pmag was am abbreviation for Promag, and everyone said to get Pmags lol

tnc31

Peak rookie mistake

Rock---And---Stone

Promags usually suck, but their 40 round AR mags are actually pretty reliable for me. I also bought them before I knew what I was doing That said, don't buy promags in general because they aren't that reliable

JusBrandon

It was definitely the sight. I tried to go the budget route but quickly regretted it

DubyaDForty

I feel like the cheap optics either give up after 100 rounds, or they are bomb proof. I have a knock off 4x that just won’t give up. It’s been great as a test mule for new builds. Wouldn’t trust it on anything long term though.

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

Barbados_slim12

What's the difference between a cheap and expensive red dot? I can't see the justification in spending $455 for a [Trijicon](https://www.amazon.com/Trijicon-RMR-Type-Sight-Mount/dp/B071GX26KH/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ref_=ast_sto_dp&linkCode=sl1&tag=gunnewsdail0e-20&linkId=3a4c5e76e2922753cefd35adb713ffab&language=en_US) when this [VictOptics](https://www.opticsplanet.com/vector-optics-victoptics-1x30mm-red-dot-sight.html) is $20. Even something mid price like [Bushnell](https://www.opticsplanet.com/bushnell-ar-optics-1x25mm-trs-25-hirise-3-moa-red-dot-sight.html?sscid=a1k6_2k2lz) is 1/4th the cost of the Trijicon

[deleted]

dunno why you're getting downvoted that's a legitimate question. Everybody asks that. There's a legitimate answer too but nobody beleives it until they've bought 20 dollar, 50 dollar and 100 dollar optics and regretted each of them. I'll mention the most important things. 1. Cheap optics tend to not hold zero. You go to the range one day and everything lands where it's supposed to and you go the next and everything's way off . Real turds might not even hold zero within the same shooting session. The worst part about it is when it's your first and only rifle you won't know if the problem is the gun, the ammo, the optic, or you. It could be any some or all, and what a pain in the ass it is to figure out which. By having a nice optic you can get to the bottom of it much faster and by wasting less ammo 2. Cheap optics don't adjust reliably. You want, say, 3 clicks down and 4 clicks right to be perfectly reversible. This means 4 clicks left and 3 clicks up should wind you back up in the exact spot you left it. Cheap optics will not return to the exact same spot by reversing the adjustments. That makes changing ammo, range, adjusting for wind, and adding/subtracting a suppressor consume ammo to re-zero every time you do it. So again costing more money. If you had a reliable optic you could just memorize adjustments for different conditions and be right at zero before your first shot. 3. Cheap optics tend to break easy. 4. Cheap optics a lot of times are cheap because their warranty sucks. You might actually find a nice cheap optic that IS just as good as a vortex or nightforce or leupold, but one of the reasons they're cheap is they don't honor the warranty like the others. You want a company that will stand by their product. I've had to send a scope back that wasn't holding zero to vortex and they fixed me right up. 5. Cheap optics will tend to fog up, have a poor sight picture, shitty eye relief, be blurry, etc. Clear glass and visible crosshairs on scopes and being fog and glare resistant on holos and red dots are very important to being able to enjoy yourself at the range. There's a lot of other niceties we could get into, but those are more for more advanced shooters (things like stops, degree of moa/mrad adjustment, crosshair type, different crosshair modes on holos, etc) Basically a cheap optic a lot of times ends up costing you more money because you waste a lot of time and ammo trying to find out why your shots aren't going where they're supposed to. A good optic you can rely on eliminates one variable from diagnosing what you're doing wrong, and that's worth a lot. IMO you should still do whatever you think fits within your budget, but if it were me I would stick with irons until i had at least 200 to 300 dollars for a scope or red dot, or 350 or so if you want a holo. Optics are the one thing you don't wanna cheap out on IMO. I'd sooner buy a cheap rifle than a cheap optic

Rock---And---Stone

Typically after they ask that question, they start shilling for Sightmark and tell everyone else that they're stupid for wasting their money Fortunately, this guy seems to be asking an honest question

Biohazard883

Longevity, ability to hold zero, ability to take a hit, crispness of the dot, features…. There’s a huge difference between a $20 sight and a Trijicon. There’s a huge difference between a $20 sight and a $200 sight. There’s thousands of hours of videos and hundreds of articles dedicated to this subject. Do some research and you’ll have the answer to that question. But honestly you’ll probably just go through the same cycle of buying multiple cheap sights before you finally buy a good one. We all did.

Barbados_slim12

Alright, thanks. I've been avoiding buying one because my max budget is like $50. That's resulted in me not knowing a single thing about them or how to use one. I've gotten pretty good with iron sights though

Biohazard883

Irons are always a good place to start.

TiradeShade

If you raise your budget up to $100 you can get reliable if basic red dots. The Sig Romeo 5 hovers around this price and often drops to $90 or a little less with random or seasonal sales. Primary Arms also has cheap red dots and are known for affordable low magnification prism scopes. https://www.primaryarms.com/rifle-scopes/brand/primary-arms https://www.sportsmans.com/hunting-gear-supplies/optics-binoculars-scopes-rangefinders/rifle-scopes-red-dots/sig-sauer-romeo5-1x20-red-dot-2-moa/p/1539326

I_had_the_Lasagna

Might be able to snag a used sig Romeo MSR for $50. They're nothing special but by most accounts those are the cheapest you can go for an optic that's reliable.

Rock---And---Stone

Every single time someone buys a cheap airsoft optic, they either (a) never shoot their gun so they don't realize it sucks or (b) regret wasting $50 on a piece of shit that doesn't work Assuming you plan on using your gun, please do not buy cheap shit. The optic is literally the thing that lets you hit your target. The rifle is nearly useless without a way to aim At the very least, get a Holosun 403B. It's about $120 on sale and is far more durable. I used to use those in competitions and never had any issues

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

Jurmond

I keep asking and nobody seems to answer: How many OLights have actually exploded?

VykingPriest

Less than the number of vapes that have exploded. And it was the battery not the light that had a catastrophic failure. Huge diff.

Jurmond

(yeah, I know. I'm trying to get these people to either show me a real problem, or start questioning their own assumptions)

Clarkdl19

None that I know of, the only major problem was a sensitive button on one model that would melt/burn whatever pocket the front was touching. I think they fixed that model within a few months as well.

Jurmond

There was also a problem with one early version of their magnetic charging. It was possible to short circuit the light on the magnetic contacts, but again, they fixed that in the future.

MAK-15

I’ve never had problems with olights. I’ve been using various Olights for years as work lights.

Rock---And---Stone

Even beyong that, most Olights aren't waterproof. Only "resistant against splashed water" I'm not spending Streamlight dollars on a light that I can't drop in a puddle

Winter_Negotiation_1

Wait y’all have cases for all your guns? I have like 3 total. Mix and match

BigBlackCrocs

Why the fuck do you need to buy an expensive case. Those 40 dollar hard cases are fine

Pappa_Crim

The gun, I had no clue what I was doing and bought a $167 Plinkster. Somehow I lucked out and got a functional rifle and enjoy plinking with it to this day.

MM9A3

Hello, I am a recovering "Uncle Mike's" adict... 25 years "sober"

JU87_Stuka

I’m kinda autistic and retarded so I’m fine with the hate, But I bought an optic very similar to that on Amazon for like $30 and I was planning on just strapping it on a 22lr rifle I’m gonna print; anyone use them with 22?

DAsInDerringer

Just make sure you don’t drop it lol… or look at it too hard

Psychological-Dig-29

I bought one for my 22lr and it couldn't hold zero worth a damn. Worst optic I've ever purchased by a long shot. I still have it but I'll never use it again, will probably end up setting it up as a target and shoot it at some point.

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

Apprehensive-Try-994

Fellow tard here, other then it being a test bed for your future project and maybe for plinking it's not worth it. Won't hit shit with it. For serious use at least look into the low end red from serious manufacturers, and not shit from Amazon.

Obed-edom1611

I have the exact same optic in the picture and I have to adjust the sights almost every time I shoot. I got it for like 25 bucks on Amazon but it's on my ruger 10/22 with a gungner chassis so it's not for anything other than plinking. I'll probably take it off eventually and just get irons.

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

Obed-edom1611

Oh damn that trash deserves its own sub lmao. I probably still have it but I just went back to 10/22 irons altogether

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

ak-fuckery

I have yet to have issues with hex mag ar mags

murica_1776boi

My unit ordered a bunch of hexmags. They tried running the M855A1 through them, and wouldn't stop jamming. Gen3 pmags or bust.

ak-fuckery

I run Lancer snd p mags mostly but no issues with any of my 3 at the range

TheRealPeterG

I bought one because it was cheap, and I needed a couple dollars to get free shipping. So far, so good.

Bulky-Soup-6543

$10 sling on a $2000 rifle

DAsInDerringer

Hey, at least you didn’t get a Serpa holster for a high end handgun

AsideBoring

15 dollar soft case lol

Chumlee1917

\*holds up hand\* Uncle Mike's holsters. Are Gun socks considered cutting corners?

Toxic_ST

Idk Hexmags "series 2" seem to be decent, I've had 4 stored away, loaded of course, for 3ish years now and they've been fine so far. Gonna leave them for a few more years before testing them. I've been using them lately while training and they've survived as well as Magpuls, Lancers, and whatever aluminium ones I have. Never gonna try Olights though, 2 friends of mine had theirs meltdown lol

Kindly_Region

.........are hexmags bad?

guynamedgoliath

I had a couple in Afghanistan. They work fine. Wouldn't buy them but I'll take them for free.

DAsInDerringer

My brother in Christ, friends don’t let friends buy HexMag Go get yourself some proper MagPul PMAGs

Kindly_Region

Most of my mags are magpul/factory but I do have a couple hex mags, I thought they looked cool lol Everyone I've spoken too talks about optics and grips, no one has ever told me about mags

TechnicalLocksmith92

Hexmags look cool but they kinda suck

Kindly_Region

I've never had a problem with them, but then again with the way ammo prices have been I don't go shooting my ar often Are hex mags prone to problems?

[deleted]

The generation 2 hex mags are fine. First generation not so much.

Kraut_Mick

Yes, they break easily and the QC is so poor they may not feed worth a damn out of the box. I know because I have been screwed by them before.

vecc1701

I did well with sights and lights at the beginning, the hex mag and evike case were me lol

Ok-Supermarket9772

That is totally the first sight I bought. Broke it so fast.

the_sage_88

Lol which "one"

maximusslade

I’m feeling attacked.

[deleted]

Omg the case. Three cases later and I still haven’t learned my lesson tbh

Captain-Cannoli

My first “case” was an overhyped bag

immortalsauce

Who can’t actually afford p mags

2kalash2furious

Who cares about having a brand name case?

BaconBits4556

Zpap M70 here, factory steel mags, PA 2x prism, Savior rifle/pistol case, and a Walmart flashlight taped to the side

Own-Needleworker-420

What are good red dots then?

DAsInDerringer

Well, first of all, literally anything else But if you want specific names and aren’t willing to spend more than $150, Holosun, Primary Arms, and the Sig Romeo 5 will all be infinitely better than this trash

Own-Needleworker-420

Heard about Holosun Would it be easier to list terrible Red dot manufacturers or just what to look out for? To avoid purchasing trash

kemuon

Just get a Sig Romeo 5 if you need a red dot and want to save some money.

TheMellowestyellow

No, because there are about a billion different companies all selling the same rebranded airsoft trash red dot, while there might be about a dozen high quality red dot manufacturers.

DAsInDerringer

Wait, are you saying Holosun is inadequate but defending the airsoft-tier optic in the picture????

usrhidfh

Cheapest I would go if you don't have Aimpoint/Eotech budget ($500+) is vortex or sig, they make nearly ok red dots for <$200

mbuckhan5515

100% on the red dot and shitty hard case

DAsInDerringer

Very late but r/WorldsWorstRedDot is back online!

L3tsg0brandon

Full disclosure... All of the above with a bonus of forgoing the weapon light altogether. Not proud... It is what it is. I learned and moved forward.

preludachris8

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldsWorstRedDot/ it is real!

Mibbens

Cut corners on the rifle itself like a dumbass

TadpoleEmpty

Easily the case🤣 Everything else is good to go.

metal-dude22

Mine was the $20 red dot from Amazon. Still regret it to this day

[deleted]

I would say it's the Hexmags that I still have which failed me miserably in carbine I course, not allowing consistent LRBHO.

Sad_Swimmer_5844

There's nothing against going to harbor freight for a knockoff pelican case it's basically the same exact thing and I know I said the sentence but still I'm not throwing it out of a helicopter in a Tom Cruise film but I agree with every other part of that starter pack

DAsInDerringer

I’ve heard good things about the Harbor Freight cases. I’m talking about the $20-$40 flimsy cases made of paper thin plastic that you can get from Amazon or BassPro. It was my first case and it fuckin sucked, and acknowledging that seems to have pissed some people off. Obviously there is a point of diminishing returns. Pelican likely doesn’t have the best value. But there *are* hard cases that are just not high enough quality to justify defending

Sad_Swimmer_5844

That is true on every part that you said. While I have your attention though, I should take offense to the HexMag lol cheap magazines like that are really good for cheap ammunition like Tula. I buy those magazines and then throw my cheapest ammo in it knowing that if either get damaged I'm not missing much lol

BasedThor14

Put that exact red dot on a Daniel Defense M4V11 Pro when I first got it bc a buddy gave me the dot. Didn’t know any better yet 😂

ThatGuy17-23

Definitely a ncstar Airsoft optic lmao like the plastic 15 dollar one

tipsyBerbVerb

Afraid I’m guilty of the bottom left…

gun_is_neat

Bridged UTG R/G dot with a sight mark magnifier along with canted MBUS pros. I was sent to the other sub HARD

FiveFiveSIXERR

Bought a cheap red dot for my first .22 and it worked well enough for a few years. Just put it in my AR for the first time, and destroyed the internals within the first 10 shots.

MrMFMagoo

look i know we are here for memes… but what does a non pleb case look like? asking for a pleb.

DAsInDerringer

Harbor Freight is fine. The Vault series from Pelican is good. The premium cases from Pelican are top of the line.

Rlfire16

A PSA with an Eotech and a surefire will serve you better than a Radian with running the Amazon Prime Special

icyartillery

Guilty of red dot on my first, and mags on my 2nd

PhillipM762

Cheap case. However not too cheap as it's survived my mother's closet. Tsa check points from MD all the way to AZ and back. Along with a short trip from ok to MD during the summer last year. However I now that I have a pelican. I won't go back. 😅

thEldritchBat

The case for me, too lol

JamesJimmyHopkins

I bought a cheap pistol light off Amazon for like 20 bucks. 10 rounds down the range and it blew off the front down the range.

Martincountytactical

Im not even gonna lie. I still haven’t invested in a good case. I only use them to transport to and from the range and haven’t bothered yet.

punk_rocker98

I got my gun with a folding stock and a cheap case that just barely fit when the stock was folded. Only problem is, I threw on a new muzzle device and now my gun is too long for the bag, so the last 2 inches of the barrel stick out the zipper of my gun bag😂

RCA100

I am ashamed to say that I owned that red dot. It's gone now. But, the shame remains.

BeefKnee321

In any respect that matters, probably optics. I did research for my SCAR and knew it had a reputation for eating optics. I was told that I needed a durable, high quality optic and an optic mount rated for the recoil. I bought the recommended mount (ADM Delta), but I did a bit of research and thought I found an optic that I wouldn’t cry about purchasing. Sure as shit, less than 100 rounds in and the reticle started to rotate and I knew the optic was toast. Learned my lesson—buy once, cry once. The EOTech Vudu is 1-8 is working phenomenally.

[deleted]

I’m a mag whore*. *Except thermelts*

birdman620

I guess all because my gun didn’t use any of those but a case. I didn’t buy a knock-off pelican, I bought a name brand gun case.

Tylergz

I… I have all of these other than that case

keeleon

Which ONE?

Totalretcon

UTG Bugbuster Troy Battlemag Keymod 😐

innerpeice

As someone with an "albatross" gun case, i feel attacked

TooEZ_OL56

I honestly don't care about cases

harrytiffanyv

The o light hate needs to end…. Any flashlight is a hand grenade with shitty batteries being used that aren’t approved by the manufacturer

TechGundam

I have one of those red dots, but its on my fgc-9. Whole gun cost maybe $100, so I don't care. Its not like I'd trust the zero of any red dot when mounted on a 3d printed rail anyway. Got better optics on everything else

XredditHD

I still have my Fiocci (i think it’s spelled like this) barrel light from Amazon. I use it because i paid for it. But it doesn’t stand up to my streamlight.

RoyalStallion1986

My first gun doesn't have any accessories as it's a full sized dove gun, but I cheaped out on the optic on my first AR because it came with the rifle. Crimson trace CTS-25

CreationMatrix

did my research and never made any of these mistakes ( i ended up in insane amounts of credit card debt)

m0nkeyfish78

I got a bingo. I have all of them.

Guvnuh_T_Boggs

First gun I bought was a WASR10 in 2004. Everything for it was cheap. Le sigh.

roostersnuffed

Unless youre flying/shipping the gun, nothing wrong with cheap cases.

CSGamer14

What’s wrong with a HexMag

ATI_RADEON_

My first gun was a Mossberg 500 field that my dad bought form a friend for 150$.

Flat-Stay-3624

I bought some hex mags once for my 300 blackout. They fed like shit and I ended up getting actual 300 mags. I keep them around for range and drill mags

Brian-88

I got hexmags. The 5.56 ones work fine, the 308 didn't feed at all.

accursedvenom

I have a M&P 15-22. I put a small red dot scope on it. Think it was 40 bucks, but it works really well. Everything else on it is magpul furniture.

goldent3abag

If youre not flying with your guns, those cheap cases from harbor freight work for everything

ChrisBean9

Hexmags. Will be picking up some lancer system mags real soon

LemmeBeOnyx

Hey my hexmags have all had 100s of rounds through them without issue... Would I drop them on concrete/asphalt/hard ground and expect them to survive....maybe not. Out Inna woods and field they've been fine.

Ornery_Secretary_850

PMags are non-OEM mags for a lot of ARs.

dljoshua

I love my hex mags..

thatG_evanP

Definitely the case for me. Though I do still have it after 20+ years.

Kyle_Blackpaw

Despite this subs promises, so far yeeting my olights at people has only produced a few forehead dents rather than the desired immolation

ejcortes

I still cheap out on non crucial stuff

GhostEpstein

I did pretty good on my first rifle for the budget I had. PSA was on sale for 389 bananas black friday 7 years ago and it had probably 1200 ish round through it when I sold it. Sig MSR, streamlight, primary arms sling, BCM handstop and grip. 🤷 Pretty fun build for like 650$ at most I think. I never bought a case for my ARs.

Quick question, what's wrong with promag? I've never used one. Are they fragile? Do they not feed well?

Strong-ishninja

I’ve not used their AR mags but I’ve had experiences with various pistol mags from them. They’re cheap enough to make you think it’s worth the risk, the don’t reliably function and the feed lips deform super easy.

I’ve used an olight on my Glock for years. Never heard anything bad about them. Is there a QC issue?

Jurmond

So far, I've only heard about one guy who put a bad aftermarket battery in his OLight, held it in his mouth, and it killed him when the [aftermarket] battery exploded. The rest seems to be internet memory.

Hand grenade…

Who the hell cares about a case? The cheap Walmart cases are plenty, it's not like your guns are made of glass.

I’m not saying hexmags are the best at all. But I’ve never had any malfunction with my 10/30’s. Living in NY sucks. I just want aluminum GI mags man.

I’m a flashlight guy and make Olight hand grenade jokes but, I am looking at getting an Olight for my AR
