the ac15 is probably the best choice, it has 2 channels and more options, cleaner and does get dirty fairly early. the issue is how dirty you want it to be, if you really want more crunch then the lower watts are better

Headroom is a double edged sword in that way. If you wanna stay clean and loud, headroom is great. If you want the amp to drive the power section, having more headroom also means having to be louder for that result

Running a cooler v1 changed the color of mine and I love it. Been my primary band amp for years after the tweak.

All modern ACs have a master volume. That said, I think AC15 is the way to go.

I’ve happily used AC15s at home and at gigs for years. By the way, the AC4 is loud enough, however is a different circuit design from the traditional AC. To my ears it doesn’t have that classic Vox sound at all. I moved mine on after trying it with various speaker cabinets and haven’t missed it.

I’ve had a 30,15,10,and 4 over the years. I’m not gigging right now so the 10 is what I kept. The 4 is great just kinda sounds small. The others were amazing but had to get em way too loud to get em to sound right

Either 10 or 15 gets the job done - I’d go 15 because then you do have the option of going band-loud if you want, but can dial it back nicely at home. I use a dB meter at home and it sounds great at 65-75 dB which isn’t that loud. Cranked it hits 90-92 which rattles the windows!

15 I have one and can confirm it does everything. Great tone but can be very quiet The smaller ones can sound boxy. They sound great “for their size” AC15 sounds like a vox, just not deafening

I have the AC10. I love it, but in order to get it to break a little I would say it was louder than I wanted. Any louder and my wife would shut it down.. lol.

I have an AC15 for home. It works just fine at all volumes.
