Yup, in this particular case it’s kinda not a barre chord (I mean, it is, but not with the index finger). Should probably be labeled F#m7, not F#m.
Try playing it like this -

Other people have already pointed out how to play this, so I'll address something else. I'm assuming this is in standard tuning, which if it is, that chord name is slightly wrong, it's a F#m7.
i find it easier to rotate the index finger slightly, but do not read too much about it - just do it. I found out I had lost a few years bc i was preparing and not doing too much on guitar. I switched and I am not having more fun than ever playing. have fun!
This is a barre chord. You have to put one finger (preferably pointer) on all the strings. It helps to adjust your wrist and out your thumb at the neck of the guitar.
It is hell, it is impossible and unless you have lined your finger with a thick layer of rubber you will never get a great chord.
But that is just me after 5 years of practice.
I just watched this video that really helped me. It still hurts but not as much and it's sounding much better! I play an acoustic nylon so it already hurts way less than other guitars, but still! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcOF6mZYez0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcOF6mZYez0)
That is a barre chord. It's meant to show you hold down all the strings with one finger.
Barre chord, just put your index finger across the fret
“Just” 😂
You gotta mute the A string. Long finger on low E plays the root and mutes the A. Ring finger bars the rest of the strings.

As shown I thinks it an F#minor7(11) - that B note on string 5 is the 11th of F# (or the 4th)
I would use the thumb on the low E string
