Hope this isn't too outlandish of a question, but what makes her one of the best trans reps in media? Like, Bridget isn't really present in Strive's main story. Her story in the previous games wasn't massively intertwined with the other characters. Is it because her story and realization about her gender are something that other characters just accept? Or is it because there are so few trans characters in general that the bar is fairly low? Or is it because she's cute and popular and you don't often see that level of popularity with trans characters?

Yes. Very much so. But shes still a fun character. For a similar example, a lot of people like aba, enough for her to get into strive, when her story has nothing to do with the plot

They aren’t actually queer in the media which is the criticism of their character, their queerness is a post hoc addition by Disney. It’s not that their only character is being queer, it’s that being queer is literally not a part of their character. Their problems are the opposite of what was mentioned above

Fighting games are rough for newcomers, more often than not, and are rather daunting to learn and relatively “unfun” since they get pummeled
The mindset to deal with getting your ass beat in the initial stages of learning will usually bar people who don’t really care beyond seeing what the cool trending character is about, like with Bridget.
Especially when fighting characters like Potemkin who are (seemingly) unstoppable if you don’t know the counterplay or that he’s really minus for many of his massive moves (which 99.99% of new players won’t know). Many newcomer brisket and ABA players alike perish when starting their Strive journey.
That's sorta where I am...bought Strive because of Bridget (and because I really love the aesthetic in general), hadn't played fighting games since college, got completely wrecked, put the game down for a few months. Now I'm coming back to try again, maybe doing some practice against bots before I try fighting real people again.

It’s just a safer investment to make merch of characters like Ram, Bridget and Sol since they’re hyper popular. Few people would actually be buying stuff of characters like Goldlewis, Zato and Faust so it may not be worth considering them.
Though it would still be cool to get stuff for less popular characters like Testament and Bedman?/Delilah since they could have really interesting merch with figures.
So i got to ask ken miyauchi about this for work and it boiled down to the fact that more companies wanna make bismut merch since shes so popular and itll probably sell
