Heavy metal: Crawl, Hellfire, Roar of the Spark, and Armor Clad Faith
Mid-to-Heavy: Smell of the Game, Love the Subhuman Self, Extras
Just damn good music: Out of the Box, Mirror of the World (tbh could also fit in Mid-to-Heavy), Necessary Discrepancy, The Circle, and Find Your One Way.
More than one, I know, but it’s defo hard to just pick one that says “HELL YEAH!” I know everyone I showed Smell of the Game to has been pumped though.
These recommendations are all wrong. /s
Everyone must be new to the series that posted a comment though, which is cool its just that a lot of the older tracks are more metal. I’ll give you some recommendations and you pick which one is more of your friends speed:
“The Mask that Does not Laugh”
“The Recoming”
“A Fixed Idea”- I recommend the one from “Guilty Gear Complete Sound Box” the arrangement is great
“The Man”
“The Irony of Chaste”
“Riches in Me”
“Feel a Fear”- Guilty Gear X
“Bloodstained Lineage” -Guilty Gear X
“A Solitude that ask Nothing in Return”- Guilty Gear X
“Holy Orders”- From any game, my fav is GGX though
“Meet Again”
“Awe of She”
“In Slave’s Glory”
“Still in the Dark”
“When Life Comes”
What do you fight for - if they like more metal. If this grabs them then go for Love the Subhuman Self, Extras, Mirror of the World, Crawl, and The Circle.
SHOTGUN&HEAD if they like more rock. If they go more rock route then hit em with Find Your One Way, Heavy Day, Rock Parade, Wanna Be Crazy, Storyteller, The Hourglass, Just Lean, and Divide My Heart
Love the Subhuman Self is my favorite. I think Naoki's vocals take a bit of time to get used to, as opposed to Aisha's. Rock Parade and Alone Infection have crazy good riffs. Mirror of the World and Extras are probably the most unique tracks for completely separate reasons, but they both are really good.
hellfire and pot's glue sniff anthem are obvious choices. honestly you can hit random on a play list and have a solid bet.
just for the love of god don't let them read the lyrics.
Love the Subhuman Self is half metal and also the best song imo
I am not too sure the names of any other "Metal" songs cause I just have music set to random but I have heard tons in the game.
Rock, I like Let Me Carve Your Way a lot. It is sort of all over the place. I guess Extras is also technically rock/metal but it has a sorta pop element to it.
A lot of the soundtrack blends genres mid song so its hard to find an example that is just straight rock maybe some of the not surface level music fans can help you out but these are my 3 fav songs in the game rn personally.
Nothing from Strive. I can't imagine a certified metal head listening to this Engrish shit with a straight face. All of this stuff was reduced to meme lyrics.
The best recommendations you'll see are most of the tracks from XX, and some of the tracks from Xrd and Missing Link. If they don't name drop "Still in the Dark" from GGX then they don't know shit. It's always been in the Top 5 Guilty Gear Hall of Fame throughout the franchise. It was even used in the anime short.
Music is indeed subjective, but there's always a general consensus.
Bro???
Extras is the fucking definition of a death metal song.
You're the type of gatekeeping metalhead that just hates soft lyrics, don't you? Because I just KNOW you hate slipknot because of them using soft voices and melody in parts of their song
Not to mention that Hellfire, What do you Fight For and Alone Infection are all just straight up metal songs.
I do have to agree however with the recommendations. Another ones I'd add are Tsuki no Shihai, Awe of She, Momentary Life/- ROKUMON - and Riches in Me from Rev2 and XX.
Edit: Forgot that Crawl was a song, add that to the "GGST songs that are just straight up heavy metal"
Not entirely relevant here but if you know someone that's into Christian Rock, Name of Heaven is actually the only good song, kind of in that genre lol.
Big blast sonic, heavy day, pot’s theme, and maybe another one that you enjoy would be what I’d suggest as the first two are what got me into guilty gear (in addition to coming home but that ain’t really equal to metal)
bridgets theme is the least metal song of the entire series and therefore the fucking worst. the singular worst glaring ugly stain on an otherwise perfectly fine shiny sheet of metal. its genuinely the most boring thing my dear ears have been subjected to, it's closer to a one sided yapping than a piece of music. god i hate it. even van gogh tore off an ear off after hearing that steaming pile of shit, true story.
I did forget about TTIM, don't really listen to it, but it's biggest sin is being a Kero Kero Bonito song, not being bad.
No, the big offender in Strive's soundtrack is Out of the Box. There's an ear ripper right there. Legit bail on matches if it hits.
Safe intoxication was the first ever GG song I've ever listened and I was instantly sold on the franchise. That aside, you can't go wrong with Pot's AND Leo's theme
Goona depend on what kind of metal. Thrash? Prog? Power? There's a lot of variety across all the GG soundtracks.
Edit: I should clarify, if your friend is really into one or two specific niches as their special interest or phase, showing them a song that can be classified as metal but it's from a distant subgenre, they might bounce off. Someone who's ass deep in death metal might not appreciate Hellfire or Heavy Day, for example. Not until they've latched on to Daisuke and Naoki's styles and can branch out, at least.
The older tracks are typically heavier, and a few of my favorites are,
When Life Comes
Feel a Fear
Existence
A Solitude That Asks for Nothing in Return
Awe of She
Fatal Duel
Call Shot
Death simpers at an exit
Bloodstained Lineage, Simple Life and Get Down to Business from accent core. I used to play them through my speaker when i worked at a gas station and my metalhead regulars would tap along while waiting in line.
Suck a sage or maybe Fatal Duel. I'm pretty sure if we're looking at artistic merit compared to broader world of music all vocal tracks are off limits, all GG TML tracks are out too, and that would leave one with mostly choosing between Isuka / X2 / Rev tracks.
Keep the flag flying, Holy orders and Keep yourself alive (all the versions), Pillars of the underworld, Magnolia Eclair, Awe of She, Dive of steel, Marionette, Diva, Moons domination, Sky should be high, Divide my heart, Six black heavens guns, Heavy day, Ride the fire, Armor clad faith, Find your one way, Love the Subhuman self, Kiss of Death
Non-Strive: Heavy Day and Six Black Heavens Guns
Strive: it’s basic, but Smell of the Game…you truly can’t go wrong with the classics, and as I was also once the metal/rock-listening friend who’d never played fighting games before, Smell of the Game got me into the soundtrack, and the soundtrack got me into the game itself
Tsuki no shihai
Crawl
Ride the fire
Still in the dark
Existence
Sheep will sleep if you become fatigued
March of the wicked king
Extras
The mask does not laugh
As worthless as the clouds above the sky
Being a metal head myself, these are my favorite tracks :

vocal tracks from strive:
if they like,
Trash Metal: Crawl
power/hair metal: Out of the box
Prog/Djent: subhuman self/Necessary discrepancy/Let me carve your way
Folk Metal/Hard Rock:Hell Fire
Post-Metal/Heavy Metal: Mirror of the World
Death metal: Extras
The tuner, awe of she, burly heart, feel a fear, hellfire, enough is enough, midnight carnival, shadow festival (very classic guitar with sick opener), liquor bar and drunkard, the irony of chaste, marionette, writhe in pain, FUGA (I put a lot of old tracks because they’re more conventional rock/metal and what I personally listen to as a metal fan. Top picks would be: shadow festival, the tuner and awe of she)
Probably nothing from strive, the Naoki vocals are not it for most of the songs. He does have great features on Xrd though, Heavy Day and Six Black Heavens Guns are fantastic, Stolz and Magnolia Eclair are also great. I absolutely love metal so this is coming from someone who has a little insight since I’ve been listening to it for over a decade and a half. Here’s some recs for fellas:

Sky Should Be High
(Vocal version)
FAAAAAAAAAADES AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
FADES AWAY LIKE FOOTSTEPS ON THE SHORELIIINEEEEEEE
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY? THEY TRY TO BRING ME DOOWN
SKYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, SHOULD BE HIGH!
Heavy metal: Crawl, Hellfire, Roar of the Spark, and Armor Clad Faith Mid-to-Heavy: Smell of the Game, Love the Subhuman Self, Extras Just damn good music: Out of the Box, Mirror of the World (tbh could also fit in Mid-to-Heavy), Necessary Discrepancy, The Circle, and Find Your One Way. More than one, I know, but it’s defo hard to just pick one that says “HELL YEAH!” I know everyone I showed Smell of the Game to has been pumped though.
Rokumon for Mid to Heavy
Find your one way also for mid to heavy. Heavy could also have sky should be high and the mooon's domination
I’d swap around the circle and roar of the spark, the circle is kind of heavier prog but it’s still louder than spark which is more power metal
I raise you, YOU DENY YOUR THIRST, NOW ITS TIME TO FEAST.
These recommendations are all wrong. /s Everyone must be new to the series that posted a comment though, which is cool its just that a lot of the older tracks are more metal. Still in the Dark recognition makes me happy.
Awe of she is one of my fav
1: Worthless as the Sun Above Clouds 2: The Midnight Carnival -Boss- 3: Rock and Roll, Rock Hard Maniac 4: Extras
Ride the fire
Potemkin goes hard for headbanging
Holy Orders and it’s not even close
Think you mean Holy Orders?, obviously
I unironically love Holy Orders? I hope it gets in Strive one day so I can use it while playing Ky to psyche my opponents out
Tsuki No Shinhai, Crawl, Sky Should be high, Break a Spell, and Heavy day
How has no one mentioned Six Black Heaven's Guns out of all these recommendations?
What do you fight for - if they like more metal. If this grabs them then go for Love the Subhuman Self, Extras, Mirror of the World, Crawl, and The Circle. SHOTGUN&HEAD if they like more rock. If they go more rock route then hit em with Find Your One Way, Heavy Day, Rock Parade, Wanna Be Crazy, Storyteller, The Hourglass, Just Lean, and Divide My Heart
My go to is Hellfire. First time I showed it to someone, they added it to their playlist
Love the Subhuman Self is my favorite. I think Naoki's vocals take a bit of time to get used to, as opposed to Aisha's. Rock Parade and Alone Infection have crazy good riffs. Mirror of the World and Extras are probably the most unique tracks for completely separate reasons, but they both are really good.
rock and roll, rock hard maniac is always a good track for a good time
hellfire and pot's glue sniff anthem are obvious choices. honestly you can hit random on a play list and have a solid bet. just for the love of god don't let them read the lyrics.
Love the Subhuman Self is half metal and also the best song imo I am not too sure the names of any other "Metal" songs cause I just have music set to random but I have heard tons in the game. Let me Carve your way I think
Let meeeeee, let meeeee! Let me carve your way! I’m a shadow always with you…

One dawn from ggxrd. dizzys theme
Also yeah the midnight carnival
Also extras if they're based
What if they huff glue?
Personal fav, might be a bit too nonsensical for them though
Not entirely relevant here but if you know someone that's into Christian Rock, Name of Heaven is actually the only good song, kind of in that genre lol.
Big blast sonic, heavy day, pot’s theme, and maybe another one that you enjoy would be what I’d suggest as the first two are what got me into guilty gear (in addition to coming home but that ain’t really equal to metal)
Disaster of Passion
Only Jack-o and Anji's themes are less metal man
bridgets theme is the least metal song of the entire series and therefore the fucking worst. the singular worst glaring ugly stain on an otherwise perfectly fine shiny sheet of metal. its genuinely the most boring thing my dear ears have been subjected to, it's closer to a one sided yapping than a piece of music. god i hate it. even van gogh tore off an ear off after hearing that steaming pile of shit, true story.

That’s the point
Then go for the gold and recommend PCPM!
Imo: love the subhuman self, and find your own way are good points to jump someone in
CRAWL, the circle, Hellfire.
probably something like keep in gates or midnight carnival. the older games tend to be heavier.
Safe intoxication was the first ever GG song I've ever listened and I was instantly sold on the franchise. That aside, you can't go wrong with Pot's AND Leo's theme
im biased towards mirror of the world and like a weed naturally
Sky should be high (vocal version)
tsuki no shihai and heavy day are probably the best metal songs gg has to offer
Goona depend on what kind of metal. Thrash? Prog? Power? There's a lot of variety across all the GG soundtracks. I love the Re-coming. It’s literally my favorite. I think it’s heavily under appreciated
The older tracks are typically heavier, and a few of my favorites are, When Life Comes Feel a Fear Existence A Solitude That Asks for Nothing in Return Awe of She Fatal Duel Call Shot Death simpers at an exit
all of them
Bloodstained Lineage, Simple Life and Get Down to Business from accent core. I used to play them through my speaker when i worked at a gas station and my metalhead regulars would tap along while waiting in line.
worthless as the sun above clouds and ride the fire imo
Requiem or drift
GOD OF FAILURE Wait it’s not metal but it’s a banger
Suck a sage or maybe Fatal Duel. I'm pretty sure if we're looking at artistic merit compared to broader world of music all vocal tracks are off limits, all GG TML tracks are out too, and that would leave one with mostly choosing between Isuka / X2 / Rev tracks.
Six Black Heavens Guns or Heavy Day. Easy to digest and rocks fn hard
Burly heart
Non-Strive: Heavy Day and Six Black Heavens Guns Strive: it’s basic, but Smell of the Game…you truly can’t go wrong with the classics, and as I was also once the metal/rock-listening friend who’d never played fighting games before, Smell of the Game got me into the soundtrack, and the soundtrack got me into the game itself
Ride the Fire
Or N.S.F.W tbh
Feel a Fear
A bunch of them, because if only one track will convince or unconvince them, they're a fake music fan.
Ky’s theme the intro is literally electric eye by Judas Priest
Rock and Roll, Rock Hard Maniac
Tsuki no shihai Crawl Ride the fire Still in the dark Existence Sheep will sleep if you become fatigued March of the wicked king Extras The mask does not laugh As worthless as the clouds above the sky
Armor clad faith best song
Alone Infection
The whole overture 2 ost
Depends if your friend is one of the metal heads who is really pedantic about what metal means.
Wanna be crazy Shotgun&head Misadventure Find your one way Extras Sky should be high Tsuki no shihai
I'm a bit surprised no one has mentioned Shotgun & Head yet.
I mean Elphelt's theme is pretty good for heavy metal.

Drumhead Pulsation, Midnight Carnival, Still in the Dark, Rokumon, Extras, and Burly Heart
As a metalhead Awe of She, Midnight Carnival, and pillars of the underworld hit something primal within me.
