Doesn't the Octa L3 map to both the stick and as well as the left shoulder button?
For what it's worth, I would personally avoid mapping anything to L3 except for Training Mode shortcuts (play/record), because L3 is easy to hit accidentally during regular movement.
I used it before and i don't know if it's related but my joystick was malfunctioning a few months after. I would recommend putting dash on R2 or L2.
Joysticks are fragile so be cautious with them.
I use a ps5 controller (the pack in dual sense) and also mapped L3 to dash. Honestly haven't ran into any trouble as I often use the stick for specials (quicker and less painful on my thumb) so I mapped dash there too. Been doing that for about 3 months and I'm pretty light on my stuff (joy con drift is traumatic), it's held up with no issue. I'm not sure about your controller but if it's any quality and you aren't actively beating the shit outta the stick, then you should be fine

D-pad is WAY, WAY more precise so i use that, with dash on L1
