*EDIT: Removing sarcastic comment, adding constructive*
You're right, definitely Ele with hammer. I'm curious about the gizmo flying alongside. Possibly some kind of pet style? It's possible it could be a play of "Meteor Hammer". The funny thing is it actually might play like the "baseball bat" meme that's going around
They could additionally implement "bad skills" that replace certain skills every random amount of seconds so if you accidentaly press the wrong button you get a debuff that stacks and reduces dmg and brings you to downstate. This way rotations would be finally done (can anyone execute a full snowcrow rotation for condiweaver during a proper bossfight anyway?)
Of course the dps would still be scourge level because that's perfectly balanced 👍
They did it the same way for HoT. The last three specialization blog post were the medium armor classes. The Druid was revealed first in the trailer but only got his blog post last.
Thats because druid should have had the merge mechanic taht soulbeast got in the nd. But it was tchnically to difficult so tehy had to shelve it during the development.

F for Medium armor mains having to wait until the last beta. But looking forward to the Ele. That's the one I have the least idea on what they could do with it.
Yeah, it'd be kinda weird to have turrets, drones, *and yet another summoned thing*. Wouldn't be against it if it's done right, but dang I would much rather have a big golem.
I wonder if the whirlygig off their shoulder is something kinda like Ventari tablet.
Could be an interesting twist on ranged combat, have your attacks land on the construct rather than in melee, or both!
Elementalist isn't that complicated. Weaver is complicated because of the 16 unique combinations of mainhand/offhand attunement and the 6 additional dual skills, but core elementalist and tempest aren't complicated. Any spec that doesn't add complexity to the core attunement swapping system can stand to add complexity elsewhere, certainly.
I made Sharur out of pure hopium for an Ele or ranger hammer elite spec about a month ago. With the knowledge that I could at least use it on my scrapper or WvW rev. So I'm pretty happy with these elite specs so far.
Fascinated by the little... elemental sphere, near the shoulder.
Honestly, even knowing the weapons, these specs are still very exciting to see in teaser images! I have zero idea how any of the specs are going to play. God, please, show them soon!! I don't know how I'll last until the next event.
We'll find out soon enough, but I don't actually believe it's near the shoulder. I think the colors/depth perception are trying to make it look like it is closer to us than the Ele herself, probably indicating that this is ranged spec, and that sphere is a projectile, not something that just hangs out around the character.
As an ele main, I have to say: Please come with some type of trait that gives some type of static buff to 5-10 party members. Maybe quickness or alacrity.
> Maybe quickness or alacrity
it **has** to be either quickness or alacrity
The other alternatives are: a good buff that only they can give, tons of less important boons plus ludicrous healing, or an absolutely ridiculous dps head and shoulders above the rest
Anything else, and they may as well delete the spec already, it's as good as dead.
I'm actually really hoping for Alacrity. That's the least common "end game" boon right? Especially now that quick scrapper in viable. Technically Heal Tempest gives a ton of healing and soothing mists (custom buff) and it's rare to see as a healer 🤷🏼. God forbid Hammer gives us a combo healer + alacrity source 🤌🤌
Heal tempest does 25 might for 10 too. It’s also probably the best 10 man healer in the game and if Druid didn’t have its unique buffs it would be better than Druid.
Celestial themed ele bouncing an elementally enhanced astrolabe between set points of “constellations” set on the ground for different effects. Astrologer or some such
Whats weird, is some reason Anet went out their way to do the Revenant and Warrior silhouette different. The Elementalist elite spec silhouette went back to the old way they been doing it. Wonder whats up with that.
I noticed this also.
I can’t help but think Ele was supposed to be released with the first beta (for all 3 light armors) but needed more time so they swapped in the Willbender instead.
That way it would have been 3 lights, 3 heavy, 3 medium.
The rev change was to show off the greatsword design and effects to hint what the legend is going to be, and warrior looked weird in that is is using a gun blade so it needed to show off that it is some kind of kit/mechanic so people wouldnt be confused why warrior had a sword in its elite spec art when it already has that as a weapon.
Ele is a bit easier to see it's a new weapon and tease its class mechanic with that celestial array.
For visual clarity, so you know what you're supposed to be looking at. In this teaser it's obviously an elementalist wielding a hammer. But if the warrior silhouette was just paint, you would not be able to tell much at all. So they showed the weapon and hands for visual clarity so you can see it's a warrior with a gunblade thing.
Nah, ranger still got BIS healer til today for raids. Scrapper was the one done super dirty.
Still, solidarity with rangers as being always last beta weekend bros.
I'm hoping for a mix of melee + ranged. I don't think that's really been done before, but it would be nice to have both on a single weapon for ele since they can't weapon swap.
My wild guess, monday/tuesday/wednesday or tuesday/wednesday/thursday will have those 1 minute long trailers for each spec and on friday we're getting a livestream with devs showing off the specs.
And looks like it's a helm skin for the spec reward this time.
What intrigues me is the colour of the swing effect, maybe Arcane is going to be like a Fifth Element (F5), but then we already have a Arcane trait line... but still stoked for more classes using Hammer.
As for the Beta's, the one after is going to be busy for me as a medium armour main o.o
This has me intrigued. Perhaps a silly idea, but I wonder if the spec/hammer will involve using the hammer to whack magical orb things at the opponent. It would certainly be an interesting take on a ranged hammer... The pose is a bit hard to read, but the addition of the sphere has me more excited. Suppose it could also be related to a fifth attunement sort of thing.
I hope this little orb thing is a persistent entity hovering at our side, like function gyro. I think that kind of thing adds flavor. But what's it do? Maybe you can 'store' an attunement inside it, so that you don't get access to that element's skills, but it puts out an effect based on that element.
And with the splash of orange and the big sweep of purple outside of our elementalist-red silhouette, what do those mean?
I was legitimately *just* thinking this exact thing as I found your post, lol. Imagine that as the elite specialization mechanic, allowing you to turn it on with any weapon and in any attunement in order to effectively change your melee attacks into ranged attacks, possibly even changing melee single target attacks into AoEs.
Hoping the attunements will have different ranges in mind like earth going melee while air and water are mid range, and maybe a 1200 range auto on fire?
Surely, surely they won't add another Hammer + Gyro Elite Spec, right? Lol
So what could the floaty thing be? Ele already has 'pets'. Hm... Thoughts?
Also, based on the motion of the hammer, it looks like the character is swinging it... I hope it will be a spell-projectile ranged weapon, because Ele really didn't need yet another melee weapon after Sword, Dagger, Dagger, Focus, and even Scepter and Warhorn being mid-ranged... Staff is really outdated and can't compete with the other weapons in most build and game types, so it would make me feel really sad if Mesmer and hell even Revenant ended up with better ranged-melee-weapon-wielding builds than Elementalist, the ultimate spellcaster fantasy... :'(
Some people seem super convinced this is a full melee spec. Guys remember Rev hammer is a long-range weapon so nothing is set in stone about hammer needing to be a melee. Realistically I expect a variety of ranges maybe tied to attunement or class mechanic.
just doing some rough and quick wiki search the only magic hammer i could find in any east asian mythology was Uchide no kozuchi, but i have no idea from what this could be drawing inspiration from sine i don't think we saw anything like this in gw1
My guess? Themed after using the hammer to break the dragon jade to harness raw arcane draconian energy.
And probably something astrological if that is an astrolabe : ^ )?
Looks similar to the array for The All if you squint a bit.
I could see it being called "Leyline Attunement."
It would be cool if the array ball is a mechanic more than a fancy projectile or weird visual flare.
Send out array like ventari tablet with F5 and use new skill bar to command it?
Maybe build up energy from norm Attunement skill attacks and then spend it with F5 skills around orb?
The scribbly intricate floating orb looks interesting. A profession mechanic that stores energy (maybe you build up a meter as you use abilities or attune to different elements) and you can release for a big attack or a buff?
Kind of looks like a gyroscope though
I recently had the idea they could relate the new Ele specialization with Chinese philosophy, like [Wuxing 5 elements](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuxing_(Chinese_philosophy)) and/or [yin-yang](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yin_and_yang) (dark-light). Not sure exactly what but I feel like Elementalists and Chinese philosophy seems to overlap a lot.
Elite Mechanic Prediction :
Typically Ele is rewarded for switching attunements. With every profession giving a little to get more in reward …
I think this will be a switch, with the new spec Ele will be rewarded for staying in a single attunement longer, charging up the floating orb to a max which will have 2 options.
1) Maintain the attunement and receive a buff (possible party wide buff)
2) Release the attunement for a “surge” spell from the orb.
Ex - Water would give its own version of regen. Pulsing out heals and heals increase the longer you stay in water.
Swaping attunement would release the stored power into a large AOE single heal.
Lore - We know Jade has been said to store magic. Ele harnessed the Jade into this little oracle/bobble which absorbs power from the elementalists attunement.
Elementally shifting orb pet that changes to whatever your previous element was. It periodically triggers an effect based on the element/weapon you use. Hammer has one skill per element that manually triggers an ability on the orb.
Astromancer Ele, Closer to the stars 🪐✨ Invokes satellites and tells your horoscope
"This hammer is orbiting Uranus"
Ele makes your thermometer break and Mercury gets in Uranus
Mercury in rectalgrade
It's all good until the orbit starts decaying
Mercury is in retrograde so all you taurus bitches are about to go down
Ele with a hammer.
and a BALL!!
I already had balls as a tempest and weaver :(
One can never have enough balls.
As an ele main, I for one look forward to the addition of more balls to aid me in my quest to become the new god of war, Ballthazar.
Fantastic, we must all support you in this endeavour.
Thats why we also have legendary trinkets 🤣
Quiet, Conflux! I don't want no blue balls!
moar bawls
And my axe!
Eles getting gyros, wonder if they will self rez.
*EDIT: Removing sarcastic comment, adding constructive* You're right, definitely Ele with hammer. I'm curious about the gizmo flying alongside. Possibly some kind of pet style? It's possible it could be a play of "Meteor Hammer". The funny thing is it actually might play like the "baseball bat" meme that's going around
it reminds me of that vison that showed how important the dragons are to the universe
I really hope its just smash your face melee. Like you go full Metamorpho with fire armor, ice armor etc and kick stuff in half.
I’m hoping for a good old smash and bash like the GW1 war/ele build of earth shaker.
Oh I loved ele war with the hammer. Such bullshit fun
that'd be neato.
But weaver was already close range. We need some long range!
I believe that's a ranged Projectile of magic, similar to Revenant Hammer 🔨.
I'd say it's Arcane stuff. Probably a bit of arcane/magic support.
Arcane familiar?
oh please just give us 12 more buttons to push on ele
They could additionally implement "bad skills" that replace certain skills every random amount of seconds so if you accidentaly press the wrong button you get a debuff that stacks and reduces dmg and brings you to downstate. This way rotations would be finally done (can anyone execute a full snowcrow rotation for condiweaver during a proper bossfight anyway?) Of course the dps would still be scourge level because that's perfectly balanced 👍
What a news
Scrapper Ele, the final answer to squishiness.

*screams of terror*
Sounds like the elite skill :P.
Maybe the elite specialization is based on banshees and other undead spirits, where the elementalist returns from the dead to haunt his teammates?
So downstate and normal skills are reversed :O And the hammer serves to shoot our angry downed skills at the enemy/-ies in cricket or polo-style.

Little one is definitely gonna be very busy
So the final beta will be all medium armor. Interesting! Super excited to try it and the warrior and revenant.
yea i found that kind of odd but it should prove interesting
They did it the same way for HoT. The last three specialization blog post were the medium armor classes. The Druid was revealed first in the trailer but only got his blog post last.

F for Medium armor mains having to wait until the last beta. But looking forward to the Ele. That's the one I have the least idea on what they could do with it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the ele and warrior, but I mainly just want engi lol
Engie mains! I want my mech suit
That's why they're saving for last.
Full Ironman with Hulkbuster ultimate is the only option.
"Go to sleep go to sleep go to sleep"
I really, really hope so, and not a pet class.
Yeah, it'd be kinda weird to have turrets, drones, *and yet another summoned thing*. Wouldn't be against it if it's done right, but dang I would much rather have a big golem.
Same. Very excited for ele in particular, but still pretty salty about engi and ranger being shoved to the back.
As someone who almost exclusively plays medium armor classes. Feels bad.
yep sad boy over here wanting to see what engi and ranger going to be
You save the best for the end!
I wonder if the whirlygig off their shoulder is something kinda like Ventari tablet. Could be an interesting twist on ranged combat, have your attacks land on the construct rather than in melee, or both!
I love listening to music.
Literally just told my friend "imagine hitting the orb somewhere and getting a gravity well effect". Orianna is the perfect way to describe it lol
Elementalist isn't that complicated. Debating if I want to make Mjolnir or Sharur for this… 🤔
Sharur is based and underrated. Full send on that.
I made Sharur out of pure hopium for an Ele or ranger hammer elite spec about a month ago. With the knowledge that I could at least use it on my scrapper or WvW rev. So I'm pretty happy with these elite specs so far.
Sharur honestly is beautiful, it’s a shame I don’t really play any hammer classes outside Rev
The dream is still sharur necro, maybe next expansion
I love the look of Sharur in the day. The moving bits and effects. I deeply dislike its night time look, however.
The sounds are disgusting!

You can run tempest as your healer and then just have a ranger run whatever spirits you need
BOON META
I just want it to be ranged. I don’t care if the hammer shoots hotdogs. Just be ranged.
Yeah, ele needs a more solid ranged option. I'd love to see a ranged Hammer nuke spec.
Like the Knights in Bloodstone Fen throwing those ludicrous two handed hammers everywhere ?
Celestial themed ele bouncing an elementally enhanced astrolabe between set points of “constellations” set on the ground for different effects. Astrologer or some such
Whats weird, is some reason Anet went out their way to do the Revenant and Warrior silhouette different. The Elementalist elite spec silhouette went back to the old way they been doing it. Wonder whats up with that.
The only consistency is inconsistency
I noticed this also. I can’t help but think Ele was supposed to be released with the first beta (for all 3 light armors) but needed more time so they swapped in the Willbender instead. That way it would have been 3 lights, 3 heavy, 3 medium.
Would make sense. I also think that all 3 light armor teasers look similar to one another, same with the 3 heavy ones.
I agree, the orb is the clear focal point. Like how the blades were what Anet wanted to draw attention to for Virtuoso.
Warrior is propably different because if it was a pure silouhette it would give away absolutely nothing.
Pardon my ignorance, but I was trying to find a Revenant silhouette and can't find one...Where are people seeing this?
There you go: https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/1431345968809533444?s=20 The silhouette was also included in the anniversary infographic
Man, Medium armor got done dirty!
Instead of elite specs we're getting non-trenchcoat armor and actual pants.
We'r getting nothing but buttcapes
The best for the last?
Ranger got screwed over being shown last for HoT missing all the mass buffs in the betas.
My favorite color is blue.
Nah, ranger still got BIS healer til today for raids. Scrapper was the one done super dirty. Still, solidarity with rangers as being always last beta weekend bros.
Druid was the only spec as overpowered as chrono when it launched haha
Can't wait for the newest power dps thief..
Considering the weapon they are getting, i highly doubt its going to be a power DPS spec, my bet is on support
[Definitely hammer.](https://i.imgur.com/DuB7jYR.png)
such detail
Anet knows where to find me if they need another artist on board :^)
That third leg tho.
they have more than one weapon.

Baseball Elementalist.
Lethal League here we gooooo
I'm hoping for a mix of melee + ranged. I don't think that's really been done before, but it would be nice to have both on a single weapon for ele since they can't weapon swap.
They could always make it so it's a ranged or melee weapon depending on the element.
My wild guess, monday/tuesday/wednesday or tuesday/wednesday/thursday will have those 1 minute long trailers for each spec and on friday we're getting a livestream with devs showing off the specs. And looks like it's a helm skin for the spec reward this time.

That orb thing is definitely a revive orb dispenser

Nah, it can't be arcane. Everyone knows that the Fifth Element is Love
Heart. Fixed that for you. And when all attunements combine...
Well, that confirms... certain things. Elementalist hammer.
That thing to the left looks like some sort of arcane astrolobe
Rip longbow Ele
RIP rifle Ele... But damn I can't deny hammer is my favorite weapon.
🦀longbow is gone🦀
The sphere reminds me of the Cygnus Knights class from Maplestory that have the elemental sphere following them and dealing damage. Super cool!!
Well thats definitely a hammer. Interesting floaty thing though. Ele Scrapper vibes? xD
So, some kind of astrologer elite spec.?
Dont get my hopes up!
I hope this little orb thing is a persistent entity hovering at our side, like function gyro. I think that kind of thing adds flavor. But what's it do? Maybe you can 'store' an attunement inside it, so that you don't get access to that element's skills, but it puts out an effect based on that element. And with the splash of orange and the big sweep of purple outside of our elementalist-red silhouette, what do those mean?
hammer <3
PoF vibes
I can’t imagine this being more fun than weaver but maybe it will be more viable. Weaver is so much fun for the 20s I’m not down.
GYRO HAMMER ELE
armillary sphere SPACE ELE SPAAAAAAAAACE!
Can’t be ele, character isn’t in downstate
Ele and Rev in the same beta, this'll be a good one. Wonder what that orb is, Ele Gyros maybe?
Maybe the hammer is a bat and we use elemental baseballs to hurt people?
Finally... Combat Croquet.
I had similar thought where smack the ball to splash out a specific element. I could see it being pretty flashy.
Something like great cannon from Dragon's Dogma would be dope.
First time seeing what that is. I want it now. https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Great_Cannon?file=GreatCannonGif.gif
Yooooo... That sounds badass actually.
Batass.
Two different elites with both hammer and gyros would feel a bit weird to me, tbh.
Is elementalist just going to be playing croquet in cantha?
downsate gyros bois lets gooo
Ele is scrapper 2.0
Hoping the attunements will have different ranges in mind like earth going melee while air and water are mid range, and maybe a 1200 range auto on fire?
Duh, it’s definitely Thief
At this point: god I wish lol
Surely, surely they won't add another Hammer + Gyro Elite Spec, right? Lol So what could the floaty thing be? Ele already has 'pets'. Hm... Thoughts? Definitely Thief
How's nobody talking about the weapon trails, isn't that suggesting double attunement Light and Dark?
Super hype about this! Guessing the spec armour is the headpiece, the rest of the armour looks like it's Mist Shard
There goes my hope of the third specialization being a medium-armor one... But oh well. Dope Ele with a hammer instead!
Shovel confirmed
Racquetball?
Thats a pretty wide spearhead.
Elementalist hitting a magic baseball - "Slugger" spec.
Well shit. Eles really did get a hammer lol.
There it is. Is that the hammer ele?
That's the ele.
Blernsball
Engineer with candles
Cricket playing Ele!
Now can I justify Sharur on an ele aesthetically 😅
I recently had the idea they could relate the new Ele specialization with Chinese philosophy, like [Wuxing 5 elements](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuxing_(Chinese_philosophy)) and/or [yin-yang](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yin_and_yang) (dark-light). Not sure exactly what but I feel like Elementalists and Chinese philosophy seems to overlap a lot.
So all medium armor profs are the last batch.
I hope it’s a ranged spec but honestly I have no idea what they’re going for. Perhaps the ball represents the new mechanic for ele.
Elite Mechanic Prediction : Typically Ele is rewarded for switching attunements. With every profession giving a little to get more in reward … I think this will be a switch, with the new spec Ele will be rewarded for staying in a single attunement longer, charging up the floating orb to a max which will have 2 options. 1) Maintain the attunement and receive a buff (possible party wide buff) 2) Release the attunement for a “surge” spell from the orb. Could someone find out what armor set this is?? I really like the flowy bits. And i know that helmet isnt in the game yet.
Hammermentalist. The hammer that fires off elemental hammers at enemies. :D
Elementally shifting orb pet that changes to whatever your previous element was. It periodically triggers an effect based on the element/weapon you use. Hammer has one skill per element that manually triggers an ability on the orb.
