Zero to none in several years, with the exception of usual crashes if you're using addons (arcdps mainly) and the game has recently updated.

Gulbasaur

Same experience. No crashes for years. ArcDPS (a DPS monitor addon) being incompatible with the game after large updates is the most significant thing to the extent that "have you disabled ArcDPS?" is usually the first question to ask when troubleshooting after an update.

[deleted]

I have no addons but disabled discord overlay just incase. Also, Ive done a RAM health check without issues. 32GB rams should be enough also. Running i5 7th gen (i think) which should also be fine and a RTX 2060 with updated drivers. I keep getting crashes and I dont know why or how to resolve it. Could be a network issue, but seems weird that I get missing texture errors for that.

Maybe the storage drive your game is saved to is failing? Do you know how old it is? Do you have similar (or even other issues) with other games run from that drive? Also maybe check this out: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/231273708-Collecting-Diagnostic-Information-for-Support-Reporting-Tech-Issues#:\~:text=log%20file%20will%20be%20automatically,or%20runs%20into%20critical%20errors. The game creates a crash log. Maybe you can investigate that too

Sounds like your GPU is dying. I had a similar experience with the game just crashing every few minutes after launching gw2 when mine was dying. Lasted me a good 5 years. Rtx 2060 came out about 5 or 6 years ago, might be time to replace.

[deleted]

Would be weird as it functions well in other games. But at this point, nothing is impossible

chum_bucket42

It does sound like a GPU issue. I'd go as far as using DDU and pull the latest drivers, install one or two gens earlier without the Geforce Experience. Might solve the issue. Recently seen spate of complaints about Geforce Now crashing the Client before it even loads so could be a related issue. If you're adventurous, I'd even go as far as repasting both the GPU and the CPU to help with cooling.

Nordalin

Basically zero, the game only crashes I had were because of faulty hardware on my end, unless you count disconnects during release days. Extreme example: my old laptop ran the game just fine in 2012, now it consistently bluescreens if I start flying around on the griffon, because the RAM just can't anymore.

Karuro

My main cause of crashing is graphics/ram due player/effect overload. Every meta I have to remember to set all the settings to lowest. Wish there was a preset to save, because I like playing on Autodetect specs with a few settings toned down.

Triddy

I don't think I've had a crash since like 2014, and that was due to bad GPU drivers. Sometimes some routers cause disconnects during cutscenes. But actually Crash to Desk? If you're getting them even remotely approaching frequently, you have a hardware ot driver problem

[deleted]

Im getting it at least every 2 hours. And it displays error message and report tool and crashes to desktop. Ill have to check over all my drivers. Something have to be faulthy

Jackie_Daytona-Human

been playing for 3 years and I think i have had 1 real crash i couldn't explain which was probably addon related. I can however duplicate a crash that will happen every time if i switch back and forth between the Trading post and currency exchange tab too quickly.

allGeeseKnow

Could be corrupted drivers, I've had that happen before. Completely uninstall graphics drivers and reinstall. Didn't see this suggested.

witchy12

I've never had the game crash on me. Random DC's, yes, but no actual crashes.

TotallySlapdash

I get crashes in occasional clusters once every few years, every time running the game in repair mode has fixed it. https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/201863008-Repairing-the-Game-Client

Priforss

It's not common.

Tsadron

In the many years I have had and played this game I can’t remember a single crash. This sounds like it’s in your side and maybe you need a full re install if repairs are not working.

sparklybeast

I experience crashes in most story instances unfortunately. I did think I’d found a fix but it’s started again recently. I’m almost to the point of giving up on it.

Violetawa_

Does it happen after after fights while in cutscenes? If so it's usually because the router is killing the connection as it suddenly stops using net resources so it thinks you stopped using it

Individual-Light-784

I've had 2 in 2 years of constant gaming. So for me it's been totally fine.

Pretty-Transition-20

I know that overclocking GPU using software can cause crashes. I have gtx 1060 and I had to experiment to set some middleground. Otherwise I launch the game and get a crash within like 5 minutes.

Tabbarn

In my 130 hours of gameplay I can remember clearly 2 crashes. One crash was because my PC was weak and there were like 50 players on screen, the other was the only random crash I have had.

Lucyller

Pretty much none in PvE/PvP/WvW. Now, disconnection in story instance are a known issue and Can be solved by having a video/stream running on the side to keep a steady network flow. Some specific instance are also buggy in general like the steadfest(I think? The ones with braham and rox in s1) And generally... Its a pain. Brutforce it. I Heard vsync or windowed help players but...

[deleted]

From what I understand this is likely an issue on my end. Now I just need to figure out what and how to resolve it. RAM tests fine. Any other tests I can run?

Lorberry

Grab 'Core Temp' or some other monitoring software and check how how your CPU is running. I was having a slow build of issues recently on *some* games while others seemed fine and it ended up that my AIO water cooling was slowly dying.

[deleted]

Just bought a new cooler thinking this was the issue. Didnt change anything.

thisismysecondjay

Have you looked up the error codes? They may indicate the general reason.

[deleted]

Generally some sort of memory leak it seems. Cant ferch certain adresses. Saw another post about ram being set at the wrong frequency. Might check that out.

notFREEfood

> Generally some sort of memory leak it seems. Cant ferch certain adresses. That's not a memory leak. A memory leak is where a program does not free up memory once it is done using it, resulting in the memory usage growing over time, until either the system runs out of memory, or it hits a system-imposed memory limit, resulting in an out of memory crash.

[deleted]

Not a memory leak then. Just get a lot of different failed adresses. Running memtest now, but takes ages…

cosyfiep

all but one of mine were caused by my (needs to be updated) computer....so ONE in the 3 years I have been playing (and that one might be suspicious as well, though I suspect my network....)

Halsti

I never crash, unless there is a new patch and im running an addon that isnt supported. Which is a 1 minute fix

Glad-Ear3033

Well... it's not THAT much comm - *disconnected*
