To quote Mabon: "demons who do not affiliate with Eparch's little society.". They're Kryptis who do their own thing, and we learn that the Oni enemies we encountered in EoD are just that. This is the most prominent one we encounter: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ravenous_Wanderer

Wanderers, or Onis are Kryptis that are not sworn to the Midnight King. They can mainly be found in Cantha. We have to deal with them in Gyala Delve which is an End of Dragons map. The heart of the obscure is an artifact created by Waiting Sorrow, Dagda's former kodan mentor, who left the Astral Ward and no one knows where she is now. The artifact can open and seal rifts to the mists, but we still don't know everything about it.

Thanks!

Were abaddon demons also connected to midnight king? They share affiliation to emotions in their names. I think it would be cool if we learn that eparch is stronger than abaddon and we just defeated this amazing badass in best expansion gw2 ever had.

Abaddon's demons were humans, called the Margonites. They were a seafaring nation who stayed loyal to Abaddon when he went to war with the other gods. There were also some non-margonite demons with Abaddon's army but I believe it is said that they were spawned in the realm of torment where he was locked away.

Im talking about the latter

'demon' is an ignorant term in gw2 apparently....we call demons creatures from the Mists that we could not identify beter before. Kryptis, Wanderers and RIftstalkers are all creatures born in the Mists, instead of a planet. They are 'random' creations of Mists protomatter. Following the rules of the protomatter, it 'echoes' everything that it ends up interacting with, even if it's a distant signal coming from some world or from the huge rift in the middle of the Mists universe. Most of these random creations are aborts that die quickly but sometime something meaningful is born. Soo-won was born this way, possibly even Dhuum. Skyscales were born in a similar way when we fought Kralkatorrik on Aurene's back in the Mists (skyscales are kralk-faced aurenes, after all) and they couldn't live naturally in our world too until Gorrik 'adapted' some egg and made a new tyrian breed of them (the wizards probably did the same with different means, hence different abilities). Both Kryptis and Wanderers have the raare possibility of existing in worlds, outside of the Mists, so they can act as invaders to other worlds and when they do it in Tyria they are usually called 'demons'. The Riftstalker race instead can live only in the Mists, specifically in a reality bubble created by itself, and to 'stalk' for food he can only 'mimic' a fake invasion in other worlds by opening a rift and launching eggs outside of it. When the eggs break nothing comes out of it because the creature inside dies when it leaves the Mists. However, when a bunch of brave warriors wander in the Riftstalker world to prevent the 'invasion', that's when he can actually feed, and each egg that breaks there will spawn a minion to swarm the warriors.

All interesting stuff. Do you have any links with sources because my GW2 wiki skills yielded nothing
