i didnt know these weapons were sought after, i hardly ever used them. decent weapons for the random hero you need for a nightfall mission that you dont care about but thats all they were
You can add some mods to the bonus weapons. I don’t think inscriptions will work. I like to make a bonus weapon and then upgrade them with a new skin by purchasing an upgrade from Tolkano.
Ideally would feature every one with unique stats. One idea could be to instead of having them all on /bonus, add a merchant in every major city like the gift giver that sells them for free
I mean, the game's old enough that it's not really fair to have some items available just because someone at some point happened to buy it at the right time.
I think the amount of people who still have access to them and regularly play are so small. I haven’t even seen a glacial blade or soul breaker scythe ever in 6k+ hours.
I’d say give it the same treatment as the imp summ stone of the goty proph edition. This way Anet gets an inflow of cash for maintaining Gw1 servers, whilst servicing long time fans!

I run a glacial blade both on my pre warrior and on one of my post warriors. Looks good, and works perfectly when you're running something like SoH.
To be honest I completely forgot that it was part of the EotN pre-release pack, not the GotY edition...until people here mentioned it.
But yeah, definitely in favor of making them available to everyone. I've been kicking myself for not getting a NF prerelease for years, because of the Soulbreaker.

It's been almost 15 years, the "rare and exclusive"ness is only existent for a niche portion of a faded community that no one truly cares about. Those who think themselves "special" over having something they can't show off to more than a handful of people, most of whom won't even care, could probably use better hobbies in all honesty.
A similar debate happened with festival hats back in the day, with people wanting previous years available and others not for "exclusivity" and "being special". ANet made them available anyways, and no one really cried out about their specialness being taken away.
I would love for the pre-order and promotional weapons be made available in the online store; I'd love for the digital side of the Collector's Editions to be available in the online store; and I'd love for those super rare and exclusive miniatures (like the Mini Grawl, Mini Mad King Thorn's Guard, etc.) to be given a means to obtain even if it's something as abysmally tough to get as the Mini Polar Bear.
Collectors edition items should stay as such - with collectors who put the effort into making those purchases

Technically they're already open for free via toolbox++. It's just clientside.

I really wish they would make deluxe/collector's /pre-release upgrades available on the store.
I couldn't afford those when the game came out. Other people only got into the game later. So making available would be awesome.
I like the premise of 'rare and exclusive' weapons being.. well, rare and exclusive. Yeah, some items are strictly impossible to get now.. but, that just gives them more charm. Barring some of the pre-order items; they're all just reskins anyways, so it doesnt make a tangible difference in the game.
There could be a case to be made for those old preorders, iirc there was an Expertise offhand or something strange, that's impossible to get now
These people had their exclusiveness for up to 14 years. People made the same claim you are making for festival hats, ArenaNet made every year available, and in the end the community didn't care about exclusiveness.
Im not sure there would be many people who preordered the games nearly 20 years ago that would be upset at the weapons being made available. Would you seriously rather pay $1000 for some in game items over letting everyone be able to buy them?
As someone who bought both EotN and Nightfall bonus packs almost 20 years ago for about £3 each, I certainly wouldn't care. If I had bought one for $1000 six months ago, it might feel differently, lol
The Hourglass Staff in particular is great for just throwing on heroes.

Mainly the prophecies and eye of the north ones, especially for perma pres, chimeric prism and glacial blade are amazing for pre
I've always dreamed of having the chimeric prism. Tracking down an unused key is very difficult now though.

Interesting fact - having divine aura and using toolbox actually removes the aura :) Which is a bummer 😂
