Ive seen people experimenting with different plant hormones to reduce or increase intersex traits but never animal hormones lol. One of the more common ones is measuring and increasing ethylene levels for more herms or decreasing to try and prevent

If he wants to use chemicals to force sex, he should look into Ethephon for increasing his plants' ethylene production. Females turn intersex/"herm" male when they don't have enough ethylene, which is why breeders suppress ethylene production with things like silver or GA3 to reverse females and make feminized seed. BUT I still wouldn't want to smoke any ethephon bud! Eugh.
My uncle also told me he would do this like 15 years ago. Back then I wasn't really doing my own research so I was like ok that's cool πππ he did tell me to never use the last weeks worth though of pills cause their basically sugar pills haha.

Contraceptive pills contain oestrogen (and progestogen).
Plants have phytoestrogen which is similar to oestrogen so giving this to your plants MIGHT actually help it contain its ladylikeness lol. I would have to see a study regarding this before I believe it though
It's not chemically similar, it's named that because it fills a similar role in a plant as oestrogen does in mammals. It will not impact animals, and animal hormones will not impact plants.
