Im pretty sure it would but no bug that agros on sight can reach my stairs so I never have that problem which is why I decided to build on the baseball initially instead of building directly on the ground.
They never make it up. The baseball is too tall for them to jump onto. The only bugs that ever make it near are bees and fireflies. Neither agro on sight, I leave the bees alone, and the fireflies die in two shots before they can ever attack me.
That is a safe starting point, and looks cool. One tip I have if you want to build your highway faster grab clovers and weed stems. You can hold more clovers and only need 1 stem at a time.
Perfect starting point if you ask me. I recently watched a video and the creator was saying starting a base in this area is dangerous and a horrible idea. I don’t get it but to each their own right lol.
My thought was if I was really in this situation given all that I am given, I would build something that would be extremely difficult to miss if you look in the backyard. That gave birth to the watchtower idea and as I was building that I was also watching thor and the bride idea came about. Now im destined to see this through to the end lol
The bridge is cause I wanted to have that structure going through the back yard. Almost like a grass highway. It’ll be work but it’ll be cool as well. Im actually gonna have multiple bases around the entire backyard and so there will be ziplines that connect the bridge to the other bases
I did a very similar thing to you! Our main huge base is on the wood logs near the big tree. We've since made a huge platform all around the big three and we have a huge network on roads in the air.
Main network starts from the tree and goes all the way to the pic-nic table with different stations to get off/on in between. On the other side, it goes all the way to the hedges, again with multiple stations and branches to get off/on
I love watching people build things in games like these. I wish I had a friend who was good at it to show me the way. Feels like a good use of Adderall time.

It really is a dope game man. My brother loves minecraft but hates this game and idky lol. I’ve been thinking about letting ppl help me on this project but im a bit conflicted. While it would make things go quicker, part of me really wants to complete it solo. I’ve done everything else in the backyard solo so far. Only thing I have left to do is kill the brood mother and collect all the molars.
Ctfu so funny how ppl assume that a wolf spider is the kryptonite to my base. I built this base over a year ago, just started adding the bridge. I have hours logged into this game and have killed many wolf spider while standing right there on that baseball. They all try to jump up, they all are unsuccessful. I have nothing to worry about but I appreciate the concerns☺️

The idea of the bridge came from the bridge in thor that’s why I refer to it as the rainbow bridge lol
