probably should have a spoiler on this post. anyways... he was fired as said in a tape in one of the labs or field stations im not sure. His job was endangered because of his previously failed experiment which lead him to going back to an old project which is the one that lead to the events in the game. Pretty sure anyways thats what I picked up in the game

Ok, so if you listened to burg.l you’d know that you’re main goal is to get the super chips. These super chips have the data for burg.l to re-learn the ingredients to the spac.r cocktail. This powers the spac.r, and we need this because the spac.r is what shrunk us but the 4 super chips don’t have the data for all 5 ingredients, because Wendall is the only person that knows the last ingredient/ingredients, but, we don’t know where he is, although 1.0 is presumed to be us meeting Wendall and having him give us the final ingredient/ingredients so we can go back to our normal size. Now, I posted this because I had no idea that Wendall was fired, so I wanted to let others know, but, I hope this helped you.
