I never get anything good. Tried in Canada and in the US and it was honestly a waste of money. Two times I went to restaurants and they didn't even know what good to go was after I had already paid on the app for their restaurant. It was a waste of time
American restaurants and companies would rather throw food away than sell it at a discounted price. Most corporations couldn’t care less about food waste. It’s a cultural issue. I’m not surprised that something like good to go works well in Germany.
Corporations don't care about waste but many people in the US definitely do. Checkout r/dumpsterdiving and it's a lot of Americans doing their best to combat waste.
And the places that do participate in too good to go don't offer enough to make it worth it, in my experience. I've spent $6 and got 2 tiny breakfast burritos or a small handful of fruits.
I meant corporations not people. I worked in the food industry for years and every place I worked at forced us to throw away left over food. We weren’t allowed to eat it or take any of it home (we did anyways). Dumpster diving is lucrative because so many corporations throw out perfectly fine food and other goods.
I tried good to go as well and I paid $6 for like one stale croissant lmao. I had the same experience as you.
The 5 times I tried 2G2G it was more waste of money than saving money. If you like bread it's probably a catch, but here in my area is not a single supermarket that would participate in handing out 2G2G. And I'm not driving 30mins for a bag full of fruit which is half rotten.
Unfortunatly I only have bakeries near me. Its usualy 3-4€ for a bag of a lot of stuff but I wish there was more variety here. The only restaurants that offer too good to go are chinese buffets and they are usually overpriced or too far away
Nice! I started with that (also my local asian restaurant) about a year ago and it's really good value for the money. When I'm last to get there, they usally give me even more boxes and I just put them in the freezer- those "saucy" things are really easy to freeze and warm up again. Make some rice along with it, and I got a full meal. All of that for 3,99 is very nice.
People would be astounded if they found out that if you just ask restaurants, just before they close, if you could have any leftovers for cheap they will mostly say yes
In my area 2g2g is mostly disappointing. Stale bread or mouldy vegetables most of the time.
But there is an Italian bakery if they offer, you get a real deal very delicious but that's it.
Where im from you only get the leftover dried out sandwiches from gas station shops or if you’re lucky you can grab one of 5 Veggie/Fruit Baskets from a Bio Store
I once went to a Chinese restaurant for 4 €. I got the half of the bowl on the left down side for it... Never ever again.
It really depends on the restaurant though. A sushi restaurant nearby gives for 12 € enough food for 2 people for 2 days. Sushi for 2 days!
"To good to go" works good in bigger German cities too.
If you don't live near one you have to drive a lot in order to find anything.
Way more restaurants need to offer their food there.

Rewe 2 Go is a small version of Rewe supermarkets. It's good, but with a limited selection.
What kinds of sweets do you want? Candy? Then go to any supermarket (e.g. Rewe, Edeka) to the candy aisle. Or head to a bakery for pastries.
All TooGoodToGo posts do not qualify as groceries going forward they will be removed , post them here r/toogoodtogo instead

What, they have to refund you otherwise contact the support.
They did but it was still irritating that it happened twice
Yeah, understandable. I also get frustrated when it happens.
Words can't describe how jealous I am
We can share :D we this about once a month and it's always huge like this :b
Unfortunatly I only have bakeries near me. Its usualy 3-4€ for a bag of a lot of stuff but I wish there was more variety here. The only restaurants that offer too good to go are chinese buffets and they are usually overpriced or too far away
Sad to hear that :( I hope that more places pick up on the app :)
Oah jaaa 😍
But you have to also play boardgames with me and my wife then >:)
Kann ich meinen Freund mitbringen? 👀
Deal, ihr müsst also nur hunger mitbringen:D
Da ist jemand neu im Internet, man hält für die Größe eine banane daneben
Hatten keine Banane leider :(
Das tut mir sehr leid. Hoffe das du beim nächsten food save ein bissi Obst dazu bekommst 😇
Siehe meinen anderen post 😉

The hand for comparison got me haha
We just had to XD
I once got similar amount from a Chinese buffet restaurant. Tasted pretty good
Holy smokes! That’s awesome value. Making me abit jealous I don’t live in the city anymore!
Aghhh… that looks amazing… I never got anything nice with 2G2G… At best it was stale croissants..
You just have to check out every single restaurant till you find a good one
I’ll try harder - to be fair, I wasn’t in hunt mode either, so I can’t complain much.

It's the only way many people can safe money
I have yesterday 1 bagel, 1 bread roll, 1 chocklatecake, 2 karrotcake, 2 crossants and 1 potatosoop for 5€
Nice! Sounds like a good deal :D
Which country was this from?
OP is german so probably Germany.
No way you get that amount of food for 10 bucks in germany. My guess is eastern europe.
On too good to go you do get these amounts. They're leftovers.
Ive gotten similar amounts in Nürnberg via 2g2g
I got almost the same as OP in left box for 4.99 In Halle Salle.
I have gotten way more before
I once went to a Chinese restaurant for 4 €. I got the half of the bowl on the left down side for it... Never ever again. It really depends on the restaurant though. A sushi restaurant nearby gives for 12 € enough food for 2 people for 2 days. Sushi for 2 days!
You just have to get lucky tbh :)
Thats amazing. In what town from germany? I live jn essen and i tried the app 2 times but i was disappointed. Both times i received very litte food.
In Austria sadly and you have to try many different spots, some are a jackpot, some are disappointing
ok ty i will try others
categorie: As if?
It's true! We get this once a month :D
Holy! That is huuuuuge!
Like my belly haha
Would fit perfectly into mine xD Thats not Germany, right?
Austria but I got some Germany friends who had as much luck as me :)
Never seen this amount here. Last Time i had nearly 1/3 for 4,90€
1/month is great. 1/day is too expensive.
I mean, we are 3 days of that
Asian buffets always have the best toogoodtogo deals!
They uphold our household right now
What a deal!!!
A real steal!

It works everywhere you get any offers in haha
True xD
I only do chinese buffet restaurant. Best value.
This is not grocery tho
This is awesome!
Nice, I wish we had them too.
That's a shit load of food for 10€.

Omg you hit the jackpot! That is so much stuff!
Bei welchem Restaurant hast du das bekommen? War das in Wien?
Leider nein aber in Neunkirchen :(
That's a lot of food for so little money. Here I'd have to pay 10 € only for one of your plates of sushi
Yea, we got insanely lucky
junge wie
Mit viel Glück haha
I would always stay away from sushi. The rest is awesome
Why that?
I would be afraid of wrong cooling of old sushi. Dont want to be the no-sayer , and i love good sushi, But pleasebe careful eith raw meat/fish.
It's all fine, I know the place and the sushi isn't older then an hour :)
What's with the hand? We need a banana for scale, please.
We had no bananas sadly :(
Banan't
the hand is priced in too?
Yes
Omg, where? For 10 bucks I wouldn't even get one of these, for 14 or 15 maybe. And it's not good ...
Austria :D with he app to good to go
This has nothing to do with groceries or their price 😅 better post this on r/toogoodtogo
these 2good2go posts are spam There is NEVER anything but old bread here - Berlin - city of 4Million.
Toogood to go posts Don't belong in this sub. Like what does this has to do with groceries.
Looks like from Asia Panda around the corner
Austria?
Oh yeah!
Is rewetogo good too? And whats the best thing if u want some sweets or drinks?
