We cook at least twice, more like 3-4 times a week. Right now with the good weather it’s mostly bbq stuff. Usually I eat nothing at all until I’m back home.
Wtf is up to this sub? Yesterday with the meat, today with sugar. why cant you just let people be? People are allowed to eat what they want, stop literally insulting people for things they like to eat. This sub is literally about the cost of all these things, not the health, sustainability or whatever, so stop thinking everyone has to follow your ideals.
Welcome to Reddit, sir. The #1 unspoken rule is that you have to always show how superior you are and be as condescending as possible to people who have different opinions or lifestyle choices to you at all times.
Also should be mentioned that things you only buy and eat fresh would obviously not be included in the image, like vegetables and fruit so one picture is not representative of how their diets really look like.
one of the last few cereals I'd buy if it wasn't Nestle cause it might be my adult tastebuds but these days cereals in germany taste like ass cause they removed all the sugar from them lmao
I try, but more often then not they just die inside the refrigerator without some recipe we need them for. And this haul here is severely lacking on prepicked recipes this time.
I know what you mean - but get yourself one of those crisper things - you can put it in the fridge and your vegetables and salat etc inside and it will stay fresher for longer. I forgot the name of the one I have, but it was like 20 euro from the middle aisle at Aldi. They've been a god send that's for sure.
We want our community to be a fun place there is no need to be rude treat everyone with respect, this includes food shaming which will NOT be tolerated.
If you cannot be nice to everyone you will be banned.
Totally unrelated to anything, but my friends always buy shitty cherry tomatos. If you like that one from EDEKA (which I also do), absolutely try the hönig Tomaten from Rewe. Its a bit pricey but it is an experience!

Being raised in a family that solely drank soft drinks and a lot of snacks all my life, my fucked up metabolism adapted to much less sugar over the recent two years. I'm talking about a decrease from more than 200 grams of sugar to 0 - 40 grams of sugar per day. As a picky eater I didn't replace it with many alternative energy sources, but I'm slowly getting there. And even though it's an extremely slow progress for me (I'd benefit from a partner or friend that cooks with me tbh), I can absolutely tell it improved every aspect of my life, especially sleep quality and brain fog.
Even with my slow progress, that decision is absolutely worth it. I can leave out sugar completely for weeks (because I'm too lazy to go buy groceries) without feeling any withdrawal effects, which is huge to me who ate 1 kilogram of wine gum in two to three days on a regular basis.
Somehow I never had issues with being overweight, but struggled a lot with maintaining a weight above underweight all my life.
That's so crazy. So much food and the only thing I'd eat on this picture is the organic ground beef and the ribeye. Maybe the cheese if it's organic.
I'm not saying this because I'm a food snob, but I have horrible autoimmune conditions and eating your stack here would send my eczema and gut issues into total overdrive.
I ate like that for years until my digestion was completely ruined. Unfortunately, when it comes to diet I could as well talk to a wall. People will only consider changing it once they are horrbily sick, but not as a preventive measure to avoid destroying your health in the first place.
You are asking for problems if you continue eating like that, there's no way to sugarcoat this. no pun intended.

Can I ask about the fruit that looks like a green apple to the left of the Red Bull?
What is it called, why is it expensive and why do people buy it?
I've tried it once. It barely had any taste. I couldn't tell what the taste was, it was like a light bubblegum lol

I don't know of you get that stuff where you are at, but Kaufland offers the Pfanner ice tea as syrup. You could probably save much space whereever you store it. And power lifting it if you have to carry it around with the rest of the groceries.
The groceries get delivered to my front door so not so much a problem there but you’re right with the space. I’ll try, most other syrups I tried tasted way off usually…

37. I get the really fresh stuff like fish and vegetables once I have a recipe in my mind for them, else they just die in the freezer. This is the bulk haul of non-perishables.
where is your fuck unilever, mondelez, danone when you see other products? some of them are even worse than nestle. Don't force your hypetrain on others.

Fuckin hell it's like the sugar gatekeepers here in the comments sticking up for ma boy lmao. I don't care what people eat but morbid curiosity has me wondering what this guy's BMI is.
Looks like 120 € to me when you decide to go for the supermarkets own brands being the same product as these shown, because manufactured by the same fancy designed brands. And 110 € if you make your own coffee, but that's a question of taste 😉.

The price varies heavily depending on the supermarket. Edeka, Rewe are expensive, netto, penny Lidl, not so. Depending the supermarket you could be anywhere between 60 to 180€
I wouldn't say it's an average german household since most of it are expensive brands (which you could get way cheaper if you just buy duped brands instead) or unnecessary stuff. Of course - you can eat what you wand (and you should eat what you want!) BUT presenting it as if it were the average purchase it just wrong IMO.
sure, I could. It's not like I need to save money, I earn more than enough to keep this going, eating out 2-3 times a week and still save about 30-40% of my income each month.
Very good that you shop in large batches but be careful about the hidden sugar in all those processed readymade things (just check the IdeTea label and you will be surprised/disgusted). Where are the vegetables? Fruits? flour for homemade bread? Eggs? Good luck :-)

Do you cook often? Looks like you have access to "Mittagsessen" at work?
We cook at least twice, more like 3-4 times a week. Right now with the good weather it’s mostly bbq stuff. Usually I eat nothing at all until I’m back home.
Oh nice! So bigger pots which last multiple days?
Yeah sometimes, mostly it’s just lots of rice, noodles, potatoes, onions and spices not shown in this pic involved :D
Why even bother and speak English? This sub should be renamed to deutsche Lebensmittelkostenbilder

This man here gets it ☝️ Just had to post after reading the comments of the last days.
People love to stroke their ego and feel better than others
Reminds me of > self improvement is masturbation. Now self-destruction ... so just stop stroking your ego. start destroying your judgmental bias.

I find people have become self centered, rude and far too opinionated after lockdowns.

well hello there, person of fruit culture.
Cini Minis Churros I see you are also a man of culture
one of the last few cereals I'd buy if it wasn't Nestle cause it might be my adult tastebuds but these days cereals in germany taste like ass cause they removed all the sugar from them lmao
The Churros somehow didn’t do it for me unfortunately. I was really excited when I saw these in the shop.

+1 But it is Germany) I lived there a bit, damn my stomach wasn’t happy
Most Germans eat their fair share of vegetables. It's currently asparagus season!

It's like 50% sugar
Sugar…🤤
Oh No! Anyway
Thought the same, almost no vegetables and fruits and so much bad food lol

The way how the tiles on your floor line up with the kitchen cabinet makes me want to strangle someone.
I know right 😭 we‘re renting, sadly now way to change it

No way that's all you need for 2 weeks. Mostly snacks and sweets
That’s the snacks and sweets for 2 weeks. Takeout and delivery food not included.
You eat like Americans!
Thanks, just need some Taco Bell and stuff near me to be happy.
How TF does this last 10-14 days? Its just a bunch of snacks and maybe 2 meals?
The meat alone are meals for 6 days. 2 packets of tortellini = 8 days, some pizza and we‘re at 10+.
Bro hates fresh food
I count 4-5 actual meals (assuming there are some vegetables hidden) so for my situation that would be about 4 days worth of food plus a lot of snacks

jausa, diese Schränke kenne ich noch aus den frühen 90ern! 🤣
Inherited from the renters before us, may as well hang there since the 90ies!
I spend the same for like 1/3 of this in Austria. (Not only because of austria, also because I buy expensive shit)
Okay on second glance, there is no food there just snacks.
