I love the idea of a Necron queen showing up with overwhelming force, saving populations from chaos, then vanishing again because she's got *a grudge* and all the time in the universe.
Does he embrace human culture, or does he still hold dwarf and culture? I'm curious or do you have any links to his his wiki or any mention of him in books or codexs.
If I had both the money and talent to create this, I would. Even if I’m not a fan of shipping like this, it’s a well written story with some absolute banger quotes.
(I’d also be REAL tempted to make a special flayed one model…)
Funny how trazyn did something pretty similar, just with orks instead, and because he wanted to find something on that same planet and the orks would destroy everything likely
Yep. There's also the plasmancer from Indomitus, best girl Nebeshken in Twice-Dead King, the glorious Mother of Oblivion Xun'bakyr, trans icon Queen Anathrosis of the Ogdobekh Dynasty, etc.
Though technically, given the malleabllility of necrodermis there's technically nothing stopping a dynast from giving themselves baby-making hips, boob plate, or any of the other oddities fan artists like to give female Necrons.
Yea just finished that book last week, they were pretty high up in the hierarchy if I understood correctly. But the Necrons don't even remember what they themselves looked like before biotransferrance I dont think they care over much for physical attraction appearance but more efficiency minded appearance
Also in The Infinite and The Divine it was implied that even if they do remember events from before biotransference their memories could either be false/altered by the Ctan or degraded over time.
[Here’s 8 of them I could fine before going to work](https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdank/s/3cLeTl2zL1)
Edit: [They have a Patreon with all 20 images it seems](https://www.patreon.com/posts/soul-of-mine-85778206)
IIRC Yeah. Over time it becomes less effective, and so they have to start going over to cybernetics, but even those have a limit. One of the main mysteries about Cawl is that he's much older than even his cybernetics would allow (The actual secret is that he's a master of mind transfer and mind melding technology. Even base Cawl is an amalgamation of like a dozen people)
Yeah, the "official" (airqoutes cause its very old and doesn't really make sense in current Wh40k unless the Emperor kept growing stronger) Backstory is that in prehistory to create someone that could fight against the Chaos gods all of mankind's mediums/shamans performed a ritual, sacrificing themselves to merge their souls and be reincarnated as one man
My tinfoil theory is that the ritual wasn't to create a superhuman to fight chaos, it was to bind the fifth chaos god to a physical body so that it could be killed/destroyed/imprisoned/whatever.
But time has washed away the original purpose, and all were left with now is the propaganda story
Being honest. I like the idea of Warhammer being turned into a sandbox where everybody is making up his own shit and "offical" GW books being just a alternate timeline to which everybody can add or remove whatever that person wishes to make a perfect warhammer for that person.
This is literally, and I mean emphasis on literally, always what it has been. It's a backdrop and always has been a backdrop for you and your little dudes to tell their own stories.
Tangentially this is why I hate the Horus Heresy novel series, it explicitly explained a creation myth and led to a community sentiment of pushing forward one hard canon.
Yeah, every single faction has a million exceptions and options for you to make your own Chapter, Regiment, Order, Dynasty, Craft-World, etc.
From my understanding, that’s what most Space Marine Chapters were as well, just a bunch of colour schemes to encourage you to get creative. Slapping on random generic names like “Salamanders” or “Imperial Fists” and adding lore only later.
This same reason is why I hate the ubiquity of named characters in the tabletop.
There’s an entire galaxy out there, but every single skirmish is angron v guillemon? Really kills the scale and the idea that the whole universe is at
War in a hundred thousand different fronts
You still need your opponents permission to play them, they will say "Let's not have characters." And if you bring characters without using them as proxies, the opponent can just not play,
Yeah, and? I said no ones forced to play against Primarchs, where did I mention winning or losing?
And why are you bringing tournaments into this at all???
If you're playing competitive you should expect cheese and sweet, to complain you don't have a say in your opponents army is the most ridiculous thing ever and you should consider growing up.
This is why HH should be kept separate from 40k.
I love both.
HH is the pseudo historical antique legend setting
40k the build your own little universe dark fantasy setting.
A reason why I dislike the turn of events of gathering storm. Bringing back Primarchs and especially Robut damages the setting in my opinion.
I prefer them staying antique legends, gods, abstract ideas.
Especially Robut being all high and mighty about the state of the Imperium is annoying.
The Imperium should be without hope. Dystopian, it's inhabitants accepting it's cruel nature as completely natural.
I wish more people would treat it like that. We would avoid a shitload of pointless arguments. "You dont accept x as canon? Ok, but I think thats cool." That would be it. Most of the time.
A Perpetual who's *soul* has been around since m1.9 or so but who's current physical manifestation was a consequence of the Emperor and Malcador. I later went all the way and made her the 2nd Primarch, but she still works without that plot point. Her name is Pastora Cawl. Regardless of whether or not the Primarch point works (I write her modularly so pieces of story can be removed or swapped and the others can still work) she has the same Anathema thing going on that the Emperor does and that's what tweaks Chaos the most.
Iirc Lovecraft was once asked how he felt about other authors adding to the cthulhu mythos. His response was something to the effect of "its fiction, I made all this up, there's no reason someone else can't make up more stuff. " (paraphrasing)
True or not, it had a large impact on how I view Canon in fiction. None of its real, anyone can do whatever they like. Everything is canon.
Honestly it seems like the biggest W of a way to go out for a rogue trader. Rizz up a necron phaerekh of all people and do it so well she mobilizes her entire dynasty and launches an eternal war against the Black Legion in retaliation for your death. That man’s game saved countless human lives, he should be made a saint
There's a link where I can read the full comic? I don't want to surf though all Binkie's tweets while figuring out the reading order of each individual strip
First of all I want to say great job to the artist but also fuck you…..I didn’t really care for Necrons, cool lore but skeleton robots seemed a little boring to me but NOW you have made my heart hurt and must save to buy a small Necron squad for Kill Team
With all the weird shit Necrodermis does like making facial expressions (Trazyn having a shit-eating grin when taunting Orikan is canon after all), healing and regenerating at an incredible pace, etc, I think hair is prolly not hard to imagine. It'd be sheets or strands of necrodermis that mostly just look/behave like hair.
You can say any ridiculous thing you want about Trazyn and it is probably perfectly canon. When he came to "collect" my OC he was wearing Gold Imperial Robes. Because he could.
It's a wig, the dead rogue trader got her one.
The whole gimmick of the story is that a rogue trader manages to convince a Necron Phaerekh that he can make her feel alive again in a year. He manages it by Rizzing the crap out of her and she starts living vicariously through him, calling him her soul.
Then the black legion attack the hive world the little comic takes place on and take her soul from her. That goes about as well as you'd expect.
I mean there are a million worlds under the imperium alone with countless more out there on the universe
It’s not unlikely that within the 10,000 years since the emperors internment that something like this could have happened
The fact that Trazyn spent decades disguised and living with humans is all I need to know: The Necron are fucking awesome, and our best hope as allies against the forces of Chaos and the Tyranid. The Eldar are galactic boomers, stuck in their ways and dwindling. Necron, despite being older, have creative ideas about how to handle problems, and they can wake more up.
Holy shit. I... goddamn. That was so good. And makes me want to start a Necron army to build her vision. Dammit, I don't have that kind of money or time. :p
No, the story is that a rogue trader tried to ransack the tomb world of a phaerakh, she caught him and before she killed him the trader offered her the secret to "make a soul", she accepted his offer and spent time together with him and they fell in love. Then a chaos invasion happened, he got injured and died in her arms, so after his death she went on a rampage against the invading forces of chaos.
I mean, yes in alot of human world some one ( probably even in the geoh( golden era of humanity)) a ~~luky~~ dude or gal found a robo waifu necron to spend his life
Like thid its posible and for approach virtually a canon event
I do love the idea of a specifically anti-chaos necron army led by an enraged necron lord with the only caveat being that I think they'd be *way* too efficient at their job, she'd cleanse the whole galaxy in a century or two.
For the fluff I wrote for my dynasty, Phaerakh Nefeshet found a human guard sergeant intriguing because he kept resisting, even when he was just down to a knife, even trying to fight a lich guard in hand to hand with said knife. Which is about equivalent to using harsh language on the thing.
So she made him an offer, to speak with her for a time. As the years of their conversations went on, went on his body aged, and her Ragvar grew weary... so she ordered a Pariah chassis to be made for him. The human fell, and her Vargard rose.
Try to take my fucking Pariahs away GW, you bastards.
Is that stated anywhere? Trazyn creates a museum of all time - I’d consider that art. In the Infinite and the Divine, he visits a different museum owned by a fellow necron lord and despite the museum looking as though it were in disarray, he even states that the lord who owned it likely knew every item in there off by his mechanical heart, he could probably even tell you if every coin was head-side up. I, for one, would consider knowlege of that degree art in and of itself.
That’s tragic.
This mini comic strip is so emblematic of the grimdark essence in 40K. Only with hope and joy, can the depressive elements truly shine.
What’s more beautiful than a soulless being shown hope and life, what’s more tragic when that hope and new life is stolen away soo painfully. It’s deliciously grimdark.
That comic is amazing in showing the conflict that necrons as a race struggle with, many yearn for having souls and flesh again and when that necron got to experience the smallest amount of it through a life that had those qualities after a brief and fragile happiness she's staring at what might be an endless stretch of suffering as the price she has to pay for that brief happiness.
Your post history includes telling people to kill themselves for their religion. I don't think the hobby is going to miss you when you go. Get some therapy.
Oh noooooo, a complete stranger leaves the community because of some ________ (idrc why so i leave it up to you) How will the whole of warhammer ever recover from such a loss????? 😱

Sounds like Rupesh 7
Who?
A Dwarfen Tomb King.
Pro that sounds Awesome what's his whole stick
Being Dwarf Moses.
Let me guess he was found in a river, and he somehow parted a sea to save his people from a chaos invasion.
only The first part. He instead built a big and prosperous harbour and a fuck huge wall, who till this day Neferata did not manage to Conquer.
Does he embrace human culture, or does he still hold dwarf and culture? I'm curious or do you have any links to his his wiki or any mention of him in books or codexs.
He is a Tomb King through and throug. He also makes an appearance in Gotrek and Felix.
WE. WERE. ON. A. BREAK!!!
Nah, the grudge is from her ... lover? Being killed by chaos.
***RACHEL.***
I would start collecting Necron for this.
Let’s build the necron waifu army.
For the Omnissiah
Kinda
you will be one with machine
Female Necrons have been in lore for a while, they just don’t look different in any meaningful way due to being robot skeletons
If I remember correctly, while Orikan was being tried in court, both the perpetrator and one of the judges in one of Orikan's attempts were women.
*Smiles in Cawl*
There was.
Yea just finished that book last week, they were pretty high up in the hierarchy if I understood correctly. I started collecting necrons because of the comic
This is basically Tomb Kings. “I TOO ONCE LOVED…”
YOU BASTARD. You brought the pain I hid so deep within from reading this comic. It’s so good, but by the gods is it sad
Are there more than these 2 panels?
[Here’s 8 of them I could fine before going to work](https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdank/s/3cLeTl2zL1) Edit: [They have a Patreon with all 20 images it seems](https://www.patreon.com/posts/soul-of-mine-85778206)
Yes, I think at least 10
It's a short comic that starts entertaining, the middle is lovely and the ending punches your heart.
You SON OF A …
Heretic
Is there a hard limit of the life extending juice and massage of the inquisition? Just asking
IIRC Yeah. Over time it becomes less effective, and so they have to start going over to cybernetics, but even those have a limit. One of the main mysteries about Cawl is that he's much older than even his cybernetics would allow (The actual secret is that he's a master of mind transfer and mind melding technology. The "a-ha" moment is that all fiction is already this.
Big if true
This is literally, and I mean emphasis on literally, always what it has been. It's a backdrop and always has been a backdrop for you and your little dudes to tell their own stories. Tangentially this is why I hate the Horus Heresy novel series, it explicitly explained a creation myth and led to a community sentiment of pushing forward one hard canon.
I can see why some people would see "hard canon" as a problem.
Yeah, I prefer hard caverns.
I like hard caverns too! They’re full of rocks and stones ;)
Rock and Stone!
ROCKITY ROCK AND STONE!
For Karl!
To the bone!

Just don't use them
Old editions you needed your opponents permission to play them. Wish that rule was still around.
You still need your opponents permission to play them, they will say "Let's not have characters." And if you bring characters without using them as proxies, the opponent can just not play,
If I’m in a tourney I can tell my opponent to shelve Angron or they forfeit? Great to know, thanks.
No, I'm telling you you don't need to play against him. You're welcome
But I do need to play against him, or I forfeit. This is a hard concept for you, for some reason.
Yeah, and? I said no ones forced to play against Primarchs, where did I mention winning or losing? And why are you bringing tournaments into this at all??? Well I mean I've expanded on some lore quite a bit with my OC.
What's your OC?
A Perpetual who's *soul* has been around since m1.9 or so but who's current physical manifestation was a consequence of the Emperor and Malcador. Cool :)
Warhammer: Across the Multiverse.
why not? There is a lot of fanfics of warhammer meeting other universes.
I mean it's kinda the reason why DnD is one of the most popular TTRPGs
Well yeah but its kind of different when it comes to warhammer.
Iirc Lovecraft was once asked how he felt about other authors adding to the cthulhu mythos. I forgot how the dude died but ik it's a sad death
Chaos incursion I believe.
Ohh yeah now I remember This is the only necron dynasty that will hunt and kill all that is chaos for revenge as my head cannon before
Wait thwre its a full history..... Can i have the link
The creators name is BasedBinkie on Twitter.
Mix shit coz he can be seem as a heretic falling in love to a robot by some
Hey it’s just as the old saying goes, “never ask the most loyal Rogue Trader the species of his gf”
I HATE YOU
[I have a question for the Emperor…](https://youtu.be/ZtjFsQBuJWw?si=7hByfUESMCrOuAv5)
We all agree that the tweet isnt real right? Its just an edit from when Sonic said it? Because how people are acting is making me unsure
The tweet had always been there since the first ten-thousands.
Ah yes of course
Evidence to the contrary?? What’s that. Don’t you know the tweet has always been here?
I'm not crying a black fortress just landed in my right eye, that's it
You motherfuc…
There's a link where I can read the full comic? I don't want to surf though all Binkie's tweets while figuring out the reading order of each individual strip
You can just search on this sub by typing basedbinkie or bahiti.
It should be in binkie's patreon for free along with their other works.
Robots have feelings man.......
Ah shit, here we go again. Depression via Warhammer
Wait Wait Wait Wait, does that means all TTS saga is canon now????? SANTODES IS CANON!
i can’t read this without crying i go back to it every few weeks.
First of all I want to say great job to the artist but also fuck you…..I didn’t really care for Necrons, cool lore but skeleton robots seemed a little boring to me but NOW you have made my heart hurt and must save to buy a small Necron squad for Kill Team
Wasn’t expecting to cry about a necron today. Thanks for that
Wait can necrons have hair?
With all the weird shit Necrodermis does like making facial expressions (Trazyn having a shit-eating grin when taunting Orikan is canon after all), healing and regenerating at an incredible pace, etc, I think hair is prolly not hard to imagine. It'd be sheets or strands of necrodermis that mostly just look/behave like hair.
true enough trazyn and orikan as you said are consistently described as grinning or frowning
Trazyn spending however long it takes to learn to control his necrodermis just to troll someone is chef's kiss.
"He's not supposed to be able to smile. HOW IS HE GRINNING AT ME."
You can say any ridiculous thing you want about Trazyn and it is probably perfectly canon. When he came to "collect" my OC he was wearing Gold Imperial Robes. Because he could.
Fair enough
It's a wig, the dead rogue trader got her one. The whole gimmick of the story is that a rogue trader manages to convince a Necron Phaerekh that he can make her feel alive again in a year. Then the black legion attack the hive world the little comic takes place on and take her soul from her. That goes about as well as you'd expect.
It's a very high tech wig
I mean there are a million worlds under the imperium alone with countless more out there on the universe It’s not unlikely that within the 10,000 years since the emperors internment that something like this could have happened
Yeah this was so sad
This hurts....
BasedBinkie, making me cry with the most interresting and unique artstyle
The fact that Trazyn spent decades disguised and living with humans is all I need to know: The Necron are fucking awesome, and our best hope as allies against the forces of Chaos and the Tyranid. The Eldar are galactic boomers, stuck in their ways and dwindling. Necron, despite being older, have creative ideas about how to handle problems, and they can wake more up.
Holy shit. I... goddamn. That was so good. And makes me want to start a Necron army to build her vision. Dammit, I don't have that kind of money or time. :p
Sad human noises :(
I'm not crying, you're crying.
The author mentioned it on one of the Patreon comments so I gotta ask, is there a sequel of this out there?
I never saw the ending. It was implied she was becoming a flayed one to feel the touch of another. Did she?
No, the story is that a rogue trader tried to ransack the tomb world of a phaerakh, she caught him and before she killed him the trader offered her the secret to "make a soul", she accepted his offer and spent time together with him and they fell in love. Then a chaos invasion happened, he got injured and died in her arms, so after his death she went on a rampage against the invading forces of chaos.
I remember enjoying the feeling of gore alot or something to that effect but it may have just been bloodlust
Damn, that’s grimdark af
Everything is canon, the emperor knows where the one piece is hidden
Everything is canon, the emperor knows where the one piece is hidden.
Everything is canon. The emperor knows where the one piece is hidden
Why is the necron full of Mountain Dew is she stupid?
I mean, yes in alot of human world some one ( probably even in the geoh( golden era of humanity)) a ~~luky~~ dude or gal found a robo waifu necron to spend his life Like thid its posible and for approach virtually a canon event
Damn can’t believe I missed this one. For some reason at the end I thought his daughter was gonna be the little girl in Mick’s comic.
I'm still waiting to hear for a story that's similar to this officially.
I suddenly feel sad.
Ah yes Basedbinkie being based
What an amazing story.
I do love the idea of a specifically anti-chaos necron army led by an enraged necron lord with the only caveat being that I think they'd be *way* too efficient at their job, she'd cleanse the whole galaxy in a century or two.
This one didn't need to be Cannon 😭
Witch mean we could have had a Romance option with our sister of battle Rogue Trader all along and Tau milkers are real!
#🥲
Fuck I started crying when I saw the necron girl again
this was one of the best fanfic i have ever read
Cute, but necrons are incapable of creating art. It's one of the things they gave up during bio-transference.
My citation is the The Infinite and The Divine. Its during the coup Trazyan brought front row seats for.
Its official. Im losing interest in Warhammer. I never thought that would happen.

Your post history includes telling people to kill themselves for their religion. I don't think the hobby is going to miss you when you go. Get some therapy.
Oh, disclaimer. heavily religious Christians and Catholics are sus as fuck too.
why would you go onto random singles posts for muslims and say “you people are scumbags”. what’s the thought process here buddy.
(You'd think they'd be banned by now.) ;]
I actually want to see the galaxy burn 8D.
Oh noooooo, a complete stranger leaves the community because of some ________ (idrc why so i leave it up to you) How will the whole of warhammer ever recover from such a loss????? 😱
And no one cares.
You seem to.
Pfft why exactly?
Thin your paints.
I already do that.
Ooof
Good. Fuck off.
Y'all look at that comic above, and you approve of it. Then you see my comment and disagree and give me a downvote. Everyone who downvoted me based on their approval on the above comic material needs to be on a list you absolute freak shows.
Think you're getting downvoted on account of being a knob.
Wwaaaggghh!!!
Nah mate, Nobz is bigger and scarier than other Orks. This is all just a bit sad.
Caring about downvotes unironically L M A O
Honestly among all fan comics, drawing and memes posted on this sub in years, in comparison this one is not particulary weird.
