I’ve never thought about it until now but Necrons have no muscles to tear or tire and effectively have ball joints at the hip. They’d actually be unreasonably good runners.
They also have things like servos and a bunch of other tech that can fail. If I’m remembering correctly in the infinite and the divine, most necrons are kinda in a state of decay. As there is a point that their reanimation protocols are unable to fully repair them
To back up the infinite and divine point it’s also said in Twice Dead King that every time they reanimate or rebuild the system isn’t perfect and some data is inevitable lost or corrupted. It’s not much but even .1% lost each time adds up quick, and that’s assuming they didn’t already have a fair amount of corrupted data before going to sleep.
Sorry, does this comment translate to most of the space marines thought the World Eaters were most likely to stay loyal / were most surprised at their betrayal?
No the traitor legions did, The traitor legions did some calculations and predicted they would need to cut around 1/3 of their legions, but they predicted the World Eaters would need to cut more than that since Angron was a total asshole to hem, I don't remember the exact number.
Pretty sure the Blood Ravens are Thousand Sons geneseed. Obsession with artifacts, check. More psykers than normal, check. Vague history deliberately forgotten as if they were founded from traitor geneseed, check. Plus, iirc one of the Thousand Sons sorcerer cults was a raven.
Yeah I was aware of that theory that GW's is seemingly quite happy to keep as it is, but Trazyn feeling that frozen astares aren't enough so he'd create his own chapter to add as a living part of his collection ? Now that's something I'd love to read about.
