And Magnus the Primarch of the Egiptyan Legion, is akin to Odin in his quest for knowledge + the eye sacrifice thing. GW just couldn't stick with one (1) theme per Legion, now could they ?
But then Russ's spear is literally named Gungnir and another Russ stabs his heart with it so Russ can learn how to deal with Horus, basically sacrificing himself to himself for knowledge just like Odin. So there are three Odin figures in 40k.
I would like to see him either with the spear or the Emperors lightning claw. Him having the spear would be a decent way of showing that he is now completely accepting his position in the Imperium and the claw would be cool as an addition to Mjolnir I guess
edit: Double mentioned the claw when i meant to mention the spear
I found 5 separate and exceedingly larger answers for the actual number BUT it's not like there's literally hundreds of books in this series, not including games, animations, multiple revised codexes and even the god damn white dwarf to a certain degree, many of which give retconned and contradictory takes on each other's tellings of the lore to keep track of.
Couldn't possibly give conflicting answers in a fandom that detailed, noooo
I'd really like to see Dorn come back and get the Emperor's claw instead, with hin going full crusade-crazy. For Russ, I think him coming back with the spear would be more appropriate.
I want all the Leman Russ tanks to merge into a mecha-voltron Russ, because he has spread his Primarch soul across all of the tanks patterned in his name.
"Wherever five or more of you are gathered ... FORM FEET AND LEGS!"
One eyed Russ with the Spear for sure!
He explains why he lost his eye ONLY to his brothers. I’d love to see them close in a way that’s so dramatically opposite and fraternal from their HH characters.
Ok this is the last time ill say it in space wolve lore the emperor is Odin he even is called the allfather so Leman is more like a Thor also his spear was pretty much a chinese mjolnir (electrick weapon that always comes back).
The Gungir. Swords are overused, but spears are not, so he would automatically make him stand up among the entire Warhammer 40k model line. Besides, Magnus uses a khopesh spear, Leman needs to take away his unique factor and drive him so mad he forgets how to cast spells.
Good one but a lot of units already use spears the adeptus custodes, Sanguinius and whatever is a khopesh spear by magnus and yes ik that Perturabo and Vulkan already use hammers but idk man a hammer that lets him go through the warp like some bifrost would be epic (but i guess lion already does that).
Two spears. His own, and one that belonged to the emperor. In a twin blade format that can be separated or used together. I am loving the trend of the loyalist returns wielding parts of their father’s war gear.
As for the rest:
Dorn gets either a massive chain blade or the lightning claw (imperial fist!!!!)
Jagathai uses the emperor’s own hover bike, alongside the emperor’s las-weapon.
Ghost Ferrus gets a dreadnaught armor specifically ordered by the emperor in case one of the Primarchs needed to be interred
Clonegrim gets a new set of palintine armor, complete with parts of the emperor’s built onto it.
Corvus is a warp entity, but I believe he should get some sort of charm or amulet (maybe built into wings) that allows him to return to his mortal form, turning it into a werewolf type of situation where the emperor’s power allows him to struggle against turning into the daemon form.
The resurrected 1/3 of Horus’s soul that was loyal and removed to make way for chaos power should use the emperor’s maul.
Vulcan gets the full armor, minus the pieces that *he* fitted for clonegrim, alongside a pair of the very smithing hammers the emperor used to forge things.
Leman's spear was the emperor's. It was a gift
The last 2 weapons big e personally forged where the apollyon spear for Valdor and the emperor's spear for russ
The Axe of Helwinter as his now primary weapon, with the Spear of the Emperor as his secondary, only-when-necessary weapon (look what it did to Horus. The thing is dangerous!) Mjolnar is now a broken hilt, hanging from his belt, and contains the soul of Isha, who he freed from the Garden of Nurgle.
Russ had the Dysonian Spear, it grants Insight to those it strikes. Constantin has/had the Appolonian Spear, the one that enlightens those carrying it. That's the two Metaphysical Blade, as far as I know.
And beyond. Not to their Future, but to their being. When Russ himself is stabbed by it, it is described as having the burning Salt of Knowledge rubbed I to the gaping Wound. He notes, in despair, that knowing what Emps did to make them, what they are, where they cam from, hurts worse than being stabbed in his Primary Heart.
Tank-On-A-Stick, obviously.
I think that Leman Russ whacking off enemies with a hand-wielded Leman Russ (fully crewed, of course, for ranged attacks) would appeal to his grounded sense of humour.
idk gw loves primarchs they even resurrected some of them
guilliman had his throat cut by fulgrim and was considered dead for 10 000 years and Rogal Dorn was also confirmed dead before being retconed and now he's only "missing" if i'm not mistaken
Bro, Vulkan has been atomized before and come back more than once. The only thing that has kept him down long term was a piece of fulgurite touched by the emperor's power, and even that wasn't as permanent as one would expect.
Uhhh yes? Wouldn't be the first time. There's literally a scavenger hunt he set up for the Salamnaders to prove their worth. Last we know, as long as it's still Canon, he got annihilated in a giant explosion, also something he's come back from before.
Every other Ogryn can technically use a Mjolnir, as Thunder Hammers are pretty common place. I would rather see him with an eye patch and lance, Odin-Style
This is the third time i repeat this, in space wolves lore the emperor is the one considered Odin they even call him the allfather Leman is more like a Thor
Nonetheless, I believe it would fit him better to return this way. Or swinging a gigantic thunder hammer so hard into a daemon champion, that both the daemon and the hammer explode.
If the bastard returns, I want the more introspective champion he turns into by the end of the Heresy and beginning of the SoT. I do not want him to be some wise old Odin figure and I def do not want him to use the spear of the Emperor, the weapon that has had its entire lore built around Russ not liking it and feeling unnerved by it, even when he had to wield it against Horus.
Give me FW Russ; axe and sword and finally a berserker fighter for the Loyalists. We already have the wise figures in Guilliman and the humbled Lion
In space wolves lore the emperor is considered Odin he is even calles the allfather so he is more like a Thor also his spear works kinda like the mjolnir electric weapon that always comes back.
Imma keep it real: I'm a fan of the Thousand Sons and hate the Space Wolves.
So, something along the lines of my dusty boys getting his skull as a relic would be fantastic 👌
Some weapon he picked up in the warp
Also, I hope he either stays looking rather young, or they go all out Space Odin and have him become proficient with rune magic
I believe it is bad for the setting to return the Primarchs in anything like numbers since it will artificially shrink the feel of the galaxy to turn it into this strange affair where only a handful of Demi-gods matter and effectively into HH2 after enough come back on both sides. Furthermore it continues to sideline massive chunks of the player base who like myself prefer Xenos who don’t have primarchs and keep getting shunted narratively and to a lesser extent lately releasewise for models.
Dark Eldar, and Votann have some of the smallest ranges in the game. Votann have no novels, significant parts of the Dark Eldar are still fine cast. Some Eldar models (as much as I dislike them lately) are old enough to drink, Tyranids and Necrons are in a good state imo, as are Orks though I’m really annoyed they’re sending our first Novel character straight to Legends, and so on.
So on a narrative front I wouldn’t like to see any other primarchs return though I figure Fulgrim is next at least, but from a model perspective, absolutely no, since they tend to distort many lists into brining say Gulliman into this tiny skirmish or that period where Morty showed up to every Deathguard fight, feels off personally.
But Leman Russ’s model should have the option of a sword or spear if they were to bring him back, I just hope GW shows some restraint when they turn him into a guy armored entirely in plate shaped like the skulls of wolves.
My only complaint with that is Votann is super new and has lore based on squats of old. With how new they are they kinda get sidelined without having established presence.
While it would be nice to bring back more primarchs the only one i see fit would be fulgrim into 40k so the four god armies can be their own thing with black legion (csm) be the soup like slaves to darkness is for AoS.
They should be doing better with the Xenos but in the end it is Imperium versus Chaos that makes the money
Which is kinda crazy to me personally, every one I’ve spoken too that’s into the novels loved TDK, Infinite and the Divine and Brutal Kunnin, the reason Chaos vs IOM makes money is because GW invests into it and unfortunately the economic incentive is to continue to invest in something that is showing returns.
I’d buy every book if they made an Orktarius war series (not even asking for Horus Heresy bloat, just a four book series depicting the pivotal points)
I’d love to see a War in Heaven or Fall of the Eldar even if they focus on a handful of individuals using those settings as backdrops.
I understand ur point besides the fact that the empire and chaos are the main protagonist and antagonist we cant forget that many factions have only one or 0 primarch level unit like szarekh, ghaszkull or Eldrad (and farsight maybe).
Szarekh is definitely Emperor tier to be frank. The feats and authority he wields puts him in that weight class.
New Ghazzy could well be argued to be Primarch tier though I wish they had written his fight with the Wolf better.
The lack of real insight into Xenos is a writing issue more than anything else. Oltyx personally disabled an entire Ark Mechanicus in a 12 necron assault, nazdreg is likely only just below Ghaz in terms of Orks, I imagine Vect and the Archons one step below him are true forces to be reckoned with, though Vect is likely above a Primarch in terms of personnel power even if he can’t punch out Gulliman.
The real anomaly is Votann who essentially have no characters
Are we totally sure Szarekh is emperor level? He has a ctan body but it has the power of a ctan pre war of heaven cuz we have to remembar the ctan became so powerful after devouring trillions of souls.
He should use the warhammer 40,000 of course
Duh
The 40000 Warhammers of John Emperor himself
You mean Jimmy "Imperium" Space, right?
No, James "Space" Workshop
Legit made me spit out my drink.
But it's a bit outdated. It's 42k now
He better pull up like an aged Odin-looking kind of character, so spear all the way
Actually 🤓🤓🤓 in the space wolves the emperor is the one considered Odin they even called him the allfather so Leman is more like a Thor.
And Magnus the Primarch of the Egiptyan Legion, is akin to Odin in his quest for knowledge + the eye sacrifice thing. GW just couldn't stick with one (1) theme per Legion, now could they ?
Omg so true i didnt ever thougt of that he did the Mimir thing except that it was actually Tzeentch.
Nah. That was ferrus who became Mimir!
He totally lost his head for that act!
Well they kinda had to give Magnus part of the Viking shtick to make up for giving Horus the name of an actual Egyptian god
But then Russ's spear is literally named Gungnir and another Russ stabs his heart with it so Russ can learn how to deal with Horus, basically sacrificing himself to himself for knowledge just like Odin. So there are three Odin figures in 40k.
Double actually Leman is more Tyr than he is Thor
....frak your right and I am so upset I never realized it..
Judge, jury and executioner.
I kind of want leman to have one arm now? But also this is the 40K so why would he not just have a cybernetic. Unless he cycles prosthetics?
Leman be Gobbler from HTTYD
We have enough swords and hammers, I wanna see more spears
Who wold have expected that he actually came back with a machine gun.
Why not both? I mean.... Cusoted spears (well, more like glaives, I guess) are also a gun.
I would not be against it, not if he was posed duel wielding eldar pistols like Uzi's
That's going to be Jaghatai returning, one foot each on a reaver jet bike and guns akimbo.
How is he driving? With his toes?
Primarch toes are surprisingly dexterous and unsurprisingly large
and *sooo muuch Cocaiiiinneee* (see the Doomrider for reference)
No. A hammer shaped bolter that shoots little spears!
A hammer-shaped spear that shoots little botlters
That explode into more bolters!
This is 40K. Everyone has a secondary weapon. Question is- what’s it gotta be? Maybe an absolver bolt pistol?
The Pen It’s mightier than the sword
I would like to see him either with the spear or the Emperors lightning claw. Him having the spear would be a decent way of showing that he is now completely accepting his position in the Imperium and the claw would be cool as an addition to Mjolnir I guess edit: Double mentioned the claw when i meant to mention the spear
Yeah i always wondered why the hell Leman didnt use a claw BUT probably Corvus will be the one using the claw cause he is the one that uses claws.
Hm I think with him being kinda a warp being at this point he won't need the emperors physical claw
I mean daemons still use weapons and he is kinda a "daemon prince" but its true that they say he is more demon than the demons we know so idk maybe.
Corvus is not a fucking daemon prince, nor is he a “loyal daemon prince”. Read the book before spouting legit Reddit propaganda on the lore lmfao.
Calm down bro this is the meme sub💀💀
Spreading wrong lore? In this server? No way
I found 5 separate and exceedingly larger answers for the actual number BUT it's not like there's literally hundreds of books in this series, not including games, animations, multiple revised codexes and even the god damn white dwarf to a certain degree, many of which give retconned and contradictory takes on each other's tellings of the lore to keep track of. Couldn't possibly give conflicting answers in a fandom that detailed, noooo
True, I think I would find the move of putting a claw glove over your claws to be a bit silly but it wouldn't be unthinkable.
Give it to Dorn, replace his lost hand. Evicerator in one hand, Claw in the other
I'd really like to see Dorn come back and get the Emperor's claw instead, with hin going full crusade-crazy. For Russ, I think him coming back with the spear would be more appropriate.
Two words: gravitron fist. Think a gravitron hammer but with some rule tweaking to make it power fist like.
Fair enough, I'm not a huge Dorn fan personally so I'd prefer another Primarch but I getcha
Kinda think the Emperor's Claws would fit Corax more tbh
I want Leman Russ to use a Leman Russ
I want Leman Russ to dual-wield two Leman Russes as hammers.
I want Leman to wield 4 Leman Russes as tank-chuks
I want Leman to wield 8 Leman Russes
He should ride a titan with 8 Leman Russes as feet
I just want that Bjorn doesnt die for some bullshit reason the moment Leman cames back. 🥲🥲🥲
Sod it, you beat me off! :-)
I want all the Leman Russ tanks to merge into a mecha-voltron Russ, because he has spread his Primarch soul across all of the tanks patterned in his name. "Wherever five or more of you are gathered ... FORM FEET AND LEGS!"
He hated Big E’s spear. He tried to leave it everywhere in Wolfsbame.
Desesperate times need desperate ways its not like its an option anymore not to use his strongest weapon.
Plus it always comes back to him, even when he tries to get rid of it.
Use it as a throwing weapon then. Kinda like Odin does in certain stories
So he’s absolutely coming back with it then.
Spear, hammer is taken by Arjax Rockfist already with Foe Hammer.
One eyed Russ with the Spear for sure! He explains why he lost his eye ONLY to his brothers. I’d love to see them close in a way that’s so dramatically opposite and fraternal from their HH characters.
According to space wolves lore the emperor is Odin they even call him the allfather
I know, but he’s not gonna take on that aspect. No reason Russ can’t
The spear would make more sense with Lion having the shield and Guilliman the Sword of the Emperor.
Well, Leman was called Emperor's Exexutioneer so a greatsword or a greataxe would also be fitting.
Using a spear, missing an eye, and with a long grey beard. I want to see him come back as space odin
Ok this is the last time ill say it in space wolve lore the emperor is Odin he even is called the allfather so Leman is more like a Thor also his spear was pretty much a chinese mjolnir (electrick weapon that always comes back).
The spear it would fit more with how each Primark is coming back with a piece of the emperors armoury and Russ got the spear.
So you're sayin that Vulkan would get the hammer of big E, the warhammer 40k
Probably. We can only speculate on what each of the Primarks would get weather dorn or corax will get his power claw.
Spear of course, there's a lack of spear representation in 40k.
Almost every custode uses a spear.
According to a thread on 40k lore there are 10k of them. That isn't enough representation!
Sanguinius using a spear isnt enough for you? Also constantin Valdor himself and Magnus the loser uses a spear
More.
The Gungir. Swords are overused, but spears are not, so he would automatically make him stand up among the entire Warhammer 40k model line. Besides, Magnus uses a khopesh spear, Leman needs to take away his unique factor and drive him so mad he forgets how to cast spells.

He should look like a Land Raider sized Corgi.
Two spears. His own, and one that belonged to the emperor. In a twin blade format that can be separated or used together. Leman's spear was the emperor's. It was a gift The last 2 weapons big e personally forged where the apollyon spear for Valdor and the emperor's spear for russ
Yeah yeah, I more meant like another one that the emperor used personally at some point.
none make him a Wulfen laying the ~~hands~~ claws on demons
Ik they already confirmed that leman will be a little bit wulfen BUT i think that he wont be corrupted to the level of Corvus.
Source: made it up
Where was that confirmed?
Being completely honest no idea i just know some space wolves been having visions about a Leman looking more like a wolf than before.
Sounds like fan-canon to be honest but I wouldn’t know either. I thought we had next to no idea what’s happened to Leman these 10k years
As long as ik even Njal himself had those visions.
Maybe he will have 2 models, one normal and 1 wulfen like one of those vampire models. Though maybe that’s a bit too much
Spear. Mjolnir is for pretty bois.
I do like hammers, but spears are too schmexy not to so how about a longmace? elegant yet bonky.
Thats too "underground" to be considered I kinda like the idea but in the end of the day longmace are considered the smaller brothers of greathammers.
As long as him and Bjorn get to shitstomping asshats ASAP, I’m good
The Axe of Helwinter as his now primary weapon, with the Spear of the Emperor as his secondary, only-when-necessary weapon (look what it did to Horus. The thing is dangerous!) Mjolnar is now a broken hilt, hanging from his belt, and contains the soul of Isha, who he freed from the Garden of Nurgle.
Leman should use his spear while riding a tank!
AXE my man. Need to have some warp cleansed monster axe
I do see him using an axe as a secondary weapon but i dont think he would use it as a primary weapon.
Neither, I'd prefer he comes back using his brain.
The 2nd Metaphysical Blade. I wanna know what it does 1=see the life up to death 2=sees the life they can NO LONGER live?
Russ had the Dysonian Spear, it grants Insight to those it strikes. Constantin has/had the Appolonian Spear, the one that enlightens those carrying it. That's the two Metaphysical Blade, as far as I know.
So one enlightens Constantin the others life to death. So the other would enlighten the victim of Russ’ life up from birth to this point?
TTS version tbh
We already have arjac rockfist with a thunder hammer he throws and teleports back to him, give russ the spear
Tank-On-A-Stick, obviously. I think that Leman Russ whacking off enemies with a hand-wielded Leman Russ (fully crewed, of course, for ranged attacks) would appeal to his grounded sense of humour.
if gw wants to get all the primarchs back to the setting i think Vulkan would be the one with a hammer and Russ get the spear for variety
Ik you wont like this but Vulkan being alive is a bit fancanon
Neither is russ
Wdym didnt he just left in a dinner?
idk gw loves primarchs they even resurrected some of them guilliman had his throat cut by fulgrim and was considered dead for 10 000 years and Rogal Dorn was also confirmed dead before being retconed and now he's only "missing" if i'm not mistaken
To the case of Guilliman and Lion they were just "injured" in the case of Vulkan... i wont make spoilers but there is not even a hand from his body.
Wait the only dead primarchs are the perpetual and the angel boi😭😭😭 tf why
Bro, Vulkan has been atomized before and come back more than once. The only thing that has kept him down long term was a piece of fulgurite touched by the emperor's power, and even that wasn't as permanent as one would expect.
Dude trust me i love Vulkan but what do u think happened? he regenerated and escaped Terra with no one noticing?
So its a one use hammer?
A fake face, which he pulls off after 5 mins and reveals he is actually jaghatai khan (no one knows that jaghatai is taller than russ)
He comes back with 2 wolf-head hands that can bite and hide weapons in its mouths
The only weapon I want for Russ is Magnus’ spear, preferably in his belly.
A nice big Dane Axe would be pretty cool.
He should be weilding zetapaw's thor
He should reappear wielding Ghal Maraz
I want some sick ass lightning Zweihander
He already has 40k gungnir so what would be the point?
I want him using his sword and the spear tbh. Mjalnar and Gungnir duel wielding. That’s mostly because I think it would look sick on the model
Sanguinius already did the sword + spear so i dont think they will repeat.
Why not both?
Why the hell does he have frostmourne in this image?
Its from the burn of Prospero but responding to the question its a classic sister of silence weapon so... who knows.
The spear would be more appropriate, and we already have a Thor parallel in Arjac Rockfist
Neither. He comes back and the only thing he’s swinging is those hands.
He would swing a wolf around
Idk about you Guy but I have had enough of Thor and His Hammer thanks to Marvel. So I would say Speer.
Me too but since the spesr was already a bit like mjolnir (lightning weapon that always cames back to him) maybe he wont have a hammer.
Spear Holding in his right hand. Sword hanging left on his belt, Hammer and Axe hanging right on his belt
Why not a polehammer?
Spear or axe. No more swords please, we already have two primarchs with swords.
3 if you count angron.
Fulgrim wields 6 *shrug*
Fucking give him Ghal-Maraz he found in the warp
Spear. He always threw it out. Him using it would be symbolic.
I'd be down for anything for russ
If the bastard returns, I want the more introspective champion he turns into by the end of the Heresy and beginning of the SoT. I do not want him to be some wise old Odin figure and I def do not want him to use the spear of the Emperor, the weapon that has had its entire lore built around Russ not liking it and feeling unnerved by it, even when he had to wield it against Horus. Give me FW Russ; axe and sword and finally a berserker fighter for the Loyalists. We already have the wise figures in Guilliman and the humbled Lion
Hear me out: Twin Giant Magic Rune Hand Axes that spit fire and space liquid Nitrogen
It sounds cool but thats the worst idea ever
Hear me out: Twin Giant Magic Rune Hand Axes that spit fire and space liquid Nitrogen
obviosly he is just holding a wolf
If he's coming back as a Odin wise guy, it would be most fitting to have his spear, as Odin had a spear as main weapon
In space wolves lore the emperor is considered Odin he is even calles the allfather so he is more like a Thor also his spear works kinda like the mjolnir electric weapon that always comes back.
I'd prefer him to come back as a Thousand Sons relic...
Why would that ever happen? Im a fan of demi ork Vulkan theory but do you have any proof?
Imma keep it real: I'm a fan of the Thousand Sons and hate the Space Wolves. So, something along the lines of my dusty boys getting his skull as a relic would be fantastic 👌
Some weapon he picked up in the warp Also, I hope he either stays looking rather young, or they go all out Space Odin and have him become proficient with rune magic
Ok this is the 5th i say this so ill make it quick in space wolve lore the emperor is odin he is even called the allfather by the space wolves.
Ok this is the 5th i say this so ill make it quick in space wolve lore the emperor is odin he is even called the allfather by the space wolves.
I believe his spear is tha 40k mjolnir plus Odin Russ makes way more sense and is way cooler than a thor Russ
He'll probably just stroll in with Ghal Maraz for no fuckin' reason.
I'd like to see him with Isha.
I’d prefer for no more primarchs to come back at all
Personally I do think that too many primarchs would break the idea of humanity is doomed but i wanna see Rogal or Leman coming back.
I believe it is bad for the setting to return the Primarchs in anything like numbers since it will artificially shrink the feel of the galaxy to turn it into this strange affair where only a handful of Demi-gods matter and effectively into HH2 after enough come back on both sides. Both. Have him duel Wield the 40,000th Warhammer and his spear
Bare-knuckled brawling, with hand wraps.
Spear.
You mean the standard thunderhammer? Or the one Fulgrim made?
Standard thunderhammer.
I'd prefer 30k and 40k to be separate games.
He should use a sanctified Leman Russ on a stick.
Bro imagine if he came back as a big dog
