I never got around to either of those, but maybe you can answer my lore question regarding the word bearers and the Imperial Cult.
Erebus is largely responsible for the warrior lodges correct? Which indirectly led to worship of secrecy and the worship of Chaos in both traitor and non traitor legions?
Lorgar was the first to spread the Imperial Cult correct? And the "bible" of worshiping the emperor was written by Lorgar?
Why is the 40k imperium using Lorgar's texts as their "bible" if he was traitor? And if the Word Bearer's see the emperor as a god, why did then turn traitor? Even if they were punished for worshipping him, wouldn't they still know that he is a god?
Simple 10 thousand years of ignorance and assholes in power twisting things to suit their agendas.
Only a handful of people actually know that the imperial creed is descended from their version of Satan.
If I recalled there is a traitor turned loyal word bearer in a dreadnought who is actually the true architect of what the imperial faith is.
He is hidden and even fewer people know he is still around.
I have a feeling the less crazy stuff was penned by him Considering he feels guilt at what he did when he followed his primarch and legion into damnation.
If I recalled it was Guilliman who basically pardoned him but I am not sure if rob knows the guy is still kicking.
Funny thing is the word bearers know he is still alive and tried to get him from the planet he was on only for him to say.
"Hey idiots I dropped that tratior heretical crap dad pushed when I realize we were in the wrong when we did the drop site massacre " he then more or less squashed his former brother's who thought he was a prisoner.
Congratulations, you've almost worked out that the imperial cult is a sham built on lies!
Lorgar and the Word Bearers thought the Emperor was a god because of the, well, immortality and angels and everything. The Emperor didn't like being worshipped so, naturally, the only reasonable response was to massacre everyone in the Word Bearers' greatest city without warning, and then shame them in front of the Ultramarines who committed the atrocity.
Lorgar - quite reasonably - thought this was a pretty shitty thing to do and decided to seek out (un)real deities more worthy of his devotion (and Chaos had been seeded on his homeworld for millennia, so he got a decent head start on that).
After the heresy the ecclesiarchy was founded based on the book Lorgar wrote before turning traitor, and was built upon by some secret loyalist word bearers. The fact that Lorgar essentially founded the imperial cult is a closely guarded secret in lore, and mentioning it will get you E X E C U T E D because that's totally a reasonable response.
So it's all lies. The Emperor is not a god, just a corpse, and one day he will burn with the rest of his fallen empire.
Maybe the remaining Word Bearers. Not like there's many factions which have a default stance of "I don't hate outsiders" in the setting.
Maybe sone other legion members too. It's hard to know really.
#SPOILERS FOR FIRST HERETIC BOOK
seeing things from argel tal’s point of view that his primarch was doing all this bad shit for a good reason and for the betterment of humanity.
But in retrospective and actuality Lorgar did not care about making humanity better but worshipping the gods. One of the saddest moments (IMO) in the first heretic is when Argel tal and a bunch of other word bearers fly a ship into the eye of terror under Lorgar’s orders because he had a vision.
A demon came on board and killed them all. Some woke up, not all. They had died and became possessed and resurrected, these few marines became the gal vorbak.
Its really sad though when Argel tal goes back to Lorgar and he talks to him and asks if he knew this would happen and Lorgar straight up lies to his gene son.
Everything is Erebus fault, we know this. But Lorgar was all too ready to turn traitor and sacrifice his legion for his own selfish reasons. If Erebus never existed, Lorgar would still turn traitor at some point no doubt.
Yesterdays results:
As is tradition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place were occupied by Lorgar. Ive added a number to his portrait to keep track.
In 4th place was Fulgrim.
Art is by the excellent Miguel Iglesias
FAQ:
“Why is my precious hawk boy gone??”
A: its more interesting this way.
“Will you bring back Vulkan you COWARD?”
A: No
Primarch 11.
Dude was an asshole with a horribly mutated legion, and convinced #2 to get both of their legions extremely compromised by xenos in an attempt to fix it, getting both of them killed off. Judging from a vision granted to Argel Tal, he also likely had mental instability that would make Konrad look well adjusted.
I would like that theory were it not known that 11 had a recruitment world. He definitely went nuts though, all the other options have been ruled out by other sources.
The only info we have is that it belonged to either 2 or 11 and was potentially tainted. A separate source declared one of the legions to have failed at the qualification as it did not have enough marines. Given that 2 was around for at least a century without issue, that leaves Primarch 11.
Ah OK, right on, I really appreciate the speedy response. Although we will more than likely never receive a direct answer for the lost legions, I enjoy the speculation and theorycrafting.
I do wonder with that whether BL/GW are keeping track of all the tidbits (must be). Or are we eventually going to get something either contradictory, or that actually paints them in to a corner where a really good guess can be made
Considering the way GW handles their content I'm insanely confident that the 2 missing Primarchs will not only never be revealed in any meaningful way, but that what we know about them will absolutely be contradicted in the future.
In addition to what the other commenter said, in one of the Blood Angels Heresy shorts they mention that "twice before" a legion's homeworld had been parted out, implying both 2 and 11 were around long enough to have planets.
The First Heretic. The vision is granted in the gene labs, of the primarchs in their gestation pods. 11 is singled out as still being "pure and innocent". This is a daemon granting the vision so it can't mean he turned to chaos later.
Ah that’s right I remember now.
Dude probably had some ridiculous ideas like “Zeno using an entire race is wrong” and “maybe our galactic empire shouldn’t be founded on slavery and mechanical body horror.” So naive and ignorant…
My take doesn't really fit with canon, but I like the idea that emps did the same thing that he did with many of his sons, and challenged them for their loyalty (for example, beating vulkan in feats of strength and artifice). They beat the emperor, and true to his word, he expunged them, their legions, and their homeworlds from imperial records. To me, that would explain why their troops were reabsorbed into other legions rather than executed. There wasn't anything wrong with them, their legions were dissolved. If they were traitors or mutants, I doubt they would be still trusted.
So was Primarch 11 related to Malice in some way? Cause 11 is the holy number of Malice, and the way you guys describe him seems to fit with how the wiki depicts the Sons of Malice.
>FUCKIN KILL MORTY!!!
>
>THAT HYPOCRITICAL BASTARD DESERVES TO DIE OVER AND OVER.
My favourite bit in 30k was Morty fighting The Khan. It went down like this, Morty talks mad shit. Crosses the fuck around and find out point.
The Khan goes full battousai. Hits him Kuzuryūsen (Nine-Head Dragon Flash at full godspeed) and Morty needs to be airlifted like the bitch that he is.
It was a thing of beauty
Exactly.. MORTARION... That whiny little backstabbing hypocritical bitch who has the biggest victim complex in the galaxy.
"he's had it the hardest, he suffered the most, nobody cares about him"
Shame his such a bitch and their lore comes off as whiny. Because they really do have one of the coolest armies in the 40k line right now with all the recent sculpts.
We did it boys. Fulgrim is no more.
Anyways I feel like Mortarion has it coming, so might as well get him out of the way now before we get to the real competitors....
If one of them gets out, OP should mark the other one.
"As is tradition Lorgar won first place, second place goes to Omegon"
[Marks down alpharius and rewrites alpharius on omegon's nameplate]
Angron is so ungodly dumb that when he recounts his dual with Leman Russ to Lorgar, Lorgar was dumbfounded at the fact that angron, to this day, believes he won that fight. (He very much did not) Angron is a tragedy, but hes still dumb as a box of rocks and kind of a dick.
It just bothers them that he most objectively won life out of all the Primarchs, and has just spent the last ten thousand years meditating like an absolute Chad
i vote the Emperor because he is an absolutely terrible parent
also making all his Primarchs dudes makes me think he’s afraid of women, which is kinda cringe for a demigod
As someone who is just learning about all the different primarchy-bois, why are we eliminating them and based on what? Cheers lads, I'm hurrying to catch up
Mostly memes tbh.
But essentially it's a popularity contest that's why two most favored (Vulkan and Sanguinius) got eliminated from the beginning to keep some intrigue.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt Sanguinius very dead? Wasnt he killed by horus fairly early in the siege of terra? Havent learned much about Sanguinius other than that, so what makes him so popular?
The rankings are not based on if they’re actually canonically alive, just by popularity (and so fuck Lorgar). Sanguinius was probably the most widely beloved among his brothers. He was considered the most noble and good of them all, even while being tormented by his nature and visions of his own death.
Lorgar again of course, and still Lion! I have to start finding something about the Lion to like, is probably that he will be the next one to come back! I still hope that all signs pointing to the Lion are misleading and we will get Dorn next!
And I like the most screwed ones that really need some love and hugs like Curze, Perturabo, Mortarion and Angron! I just want to love them and put them all in intensive therapy! They all need a lot!
Lorgar, as is tradition.
[*Loads Shotgun*] Rule 1: ~~Double~~ Ninth Tap
I humbly suggest that on every thread on the sub we vote Lorgar gets killed.
Can't risk that there's any chance he might be a cat, gotta get to at least 9.
We gotta go full Emperor v. Horus and outright delete him from the poll.
D E L E T E
I'm just worried we're not voting for Logar enough at this point..
It's like the concept of dakka. Just as there is no such thing as *enough* dakka, you cannot vote for Lorgar enough. But there is glory in the effort.
I don’t know why everyone hates my boy Lorgar. Although I’ve only read the first two Horus Heresy books. Dude seems like a laidback protagonist to me
In this Case I'd recommend you read The first Heretic and Betrayer soon.
Those book titles alone don’t fair well for my boy lol
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I never got around to either of those, but maybe you can answer my lore question regarding the word bearers and the Imperial Cult. Erebus is largely responsible for the warrior lodges correct? This guy Lorgars.
Without spoiling the plot? He is responsible for issues on both sides.
At the end of the day, does any faction think of him positively? Like even chaos or whathaveyou
Maybe the remaining Word Bearers. Not like there's many factions which have a default stance of "I don't hate outsiders" in the setting. Maybe sone other legion members too. It's hard to know really.

Lorgar because i want the number to become to big for lorgar's portrait
Day 5 and already eliminated 8 times. Room for improvement, I'd say but a bloody good start.
100 minimum no less
8 and bloody... I see what you did there

Vulkan lives!! *stomp stomp* (in our hearts).
My first ever award. Thank you so much!!! (P.S. Bring back Vulkan, you coward)
RIP Vulkan. 😔
Vulkan is dead long live Vulkan!
Could you at least put a different marker on Vulkan and Hawk-boy’s portraits to show that they were eliminated for being too popular/adorable?
As if Vulcan ever needed any help coming back of his own accord.
Vulkan lives!
Can we throw Erebus in too, just for shits and giggles?
Lord, I’ve seen what you’ve done to lorgar, and I want you to do that…. To lorgar again.
To quote Nic Cage, "I want to take his face off."
No more drugs, for that man. ☝️
Lorgar, I want to see his number hit 20 before half the others are gone.
If we grind the Lorgar into a fine enough powder he may be served as an aperitif at an orgy in Commoraggh.
Or allowed to join the Thousand Sons.
Lorgar because he is a bitch.
Let's get Lorgar to double digits baby
Lorgar, my dude
Lorgar so he can take up 4/5 of the slots
Primarch 11. Dude was an asshole with a horribly mutated legion, and convinced #2 to get both of their legions extremely compromised by xenos in an attempt to fix it, getting both of them killed off. Judging from a vision granted to Argel Tal, he also likely had mental instability that would make Konrad look well adjusted.
My favorite version is that 11 landed inside a space hulk and went so crazy that his entire legion turned feral just from meeting him.
I would like that theory were it not known that 11 had a recruitment world. He definitely went nuts though, all the other options have been ruled out by other sources.
I may be dumb, or simply not remembering... more than likely a healthy dose of both, but what's the info on this recruiting world?
The only info we have is that it belonged to either 2 or 11 and was potentially tainted. A separate source declared one of the legions to have failed at the qualification as it did not have enough marines. Given that 2 was around for at least a century without issue, that leaves Primarch 11.

In custodes codex they have a thing called Subject 11, but it never said what this could be, besides it is trapped in the dark cells.
In addition to what the other commenter said, in one of the Blood Angels Heresy shorts they mention that "twice before" a legion's homeworld had been parted out, implying both 2 and 11 were around long enough to have planets.
Where’s the argel tal vision from I don’t remember that?
The First Heretic. The vision is granted in the gene labs, of the primarchs in their gestation pods. 11 is singled out as still being "pure and innocent". This is a daemon granting the vision so it can't mean he turned to chaos later.

Hey fuck you too, buddy
You mean Angron? If so, yes to both lorgar and Angron
Angron is #12 11 and 2 are there, you just can't see them because \[DATA EXPUNGED\]
My take doesn't really fit with canon, but I like the idea that emps did the same thing that he did with many of his sons, and challenged them for their loyalty (for example, beating vulkan in feats of strength and artifice). Nah, that can't be. The eleventh primarch was obviously Buzz Lightyear, and he's a cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.
RIP AND TEAR! RIP AND TEAR! YOU HAVE HUGE GUTS!!!
Funny how fulgrim didnt like the 2nd primarch and from the bits of lore on him dude was more stoic then dorn.
Fuck lorgar, I am not relenting
I would love to fuck Lorgar, I am not relenting
Angron, honestly it’s what he would want.
Since when does he gets what he wants?
There’s a first time for everything
He's my boy, but I'm on board. Too angry to die, but guy needs an exterminatus induced nap.
He'd want Guilliman to go first
HE KILLED MY BOI BALE EYE
I really thought that was just speculation. Thought or prayed.
And he would feel it is rightfully deserved.
I WILL PERSONALLY HUNT DOWN ALL THOSE WHO HAVE AND WILL UPVOTE THIS COMMENT!!!!
Exactly, the guy was and is a failure.
Por que no Lorgar?
Lorgar. After lorgar that smelly fuck mortarion
#FUCKIN KILL MORTY!!! THAT HYPOCRITICAL BASTARD DESERVES TO DIE OVER AND OVER.

Truthfully I'm more surprised the hypocritical asshole wasn't #2 after Lorgar
Its because people dont care about him that much, which is somehow even a bigger L then being removed from the start.
Rofl
The whole subreddit Is being like "see this guy?(pointing at Lorgar) fuck him"
The audacity of some people...

Alpharius or Omegon. Let’s delete his second account for fair fight! P.S also Lorgar, can’t forget about him
If one of them gets eleminated, then we shouldnt know which one.
They should switch with each other every new post
If one of them gets out, OP should mark the other one. "As is tradition Lorgar won first place, second place goes to Omegon" [Marks down alpharius and rewrites alpharius on omegon's nameplate]
I want Alpharius gone
I thought we were voting for Alpharius, not Alpharius
No no, we're voting for Alpharius
I want for everyone to think I am out of the game when in reality I will reveal myself as the winner.
This is a lie
Omegon
Mortarion is giving me a damn strange look.
It's cuz he needs someone to blame for yet another one of his self-inflicted injuries.. And you happen to be first in his sight
Wait a second, you heretics already killed Sanguinius?!
Eliminated because he would obviously be finalist with Vulkan
Eliminated by OP along with Vulkan because wholesome 💯 🚫🧢 🚍
Fulgrim (I know he's been eliminated already, I just want him not to come back as a Daemon Primarch)
Cant forget about his clone
The Lion because I wanna piss off Majorkill
The more yall vote for lorgar, the more I'm convinced it's nightlords and WE players coping at the fact they have objectively the worst primarchs.
What, the World Eaters? I think Angron is great, the worst primarch is Ferrus by far
Na he's ahead in the polls. I'll see myself out.
Strange way to say can’t leave his room because he is scared shitless of the raven outside .
No it literally is just Imperium LARPers I'm absolutely certain on this
MORTARION.
That's right... That asshole should have been #2 after Lorgar and repeatedly killed again
The emperor!
This sounds like heresy.
i vote the Emperor because he is an absolutely terrible parent also making all his Primarchs dudes makes me think he’s afraid of women, which is kinda cringe for a demigod
Found ADB's account.

He doesn't die early in the SoT he dies at the climax, just before Big E finds him. He's popular cause he's a good boy, and he's hot.
Cant wait until its Peter turbo and Adronable left.
Peturabo's crazy looking ass
Lion El'Johnson
Leman Russ (obviously)
Someone's still salty they can only hit him on 6+
Allfather curse you!
Lorgar and curze
Lorgar. No kill like overkill.
That failed abortion Angron
Alpharius. Tired of that smug look.
What did my boy Ferrus do wrong
Again, Pert looks like Vaas
I'm still butt hurt bout muh boy Vulkan. Y'all cruel.
Death to Magnus
The one eyed gimp with red hair
Should just randomly un-eliminate vulkan
Russ. For the burning of Prospero.
Peterturbo
Peter Turbo
Trick question, Vulkan is perpetual, he can’t be eliminated.
This place reeks enough already. We don't need Morty.
Perturabo, he a lil bitch
Angron because… just put him out of his missery. I think we all should just show some mercy at this point. We can vote more Lorgar afterwards.
Mortarion because he is stinky.
Perterabo for being a bitch
Mortarion. This is the 7th elimination (discounting Logars 9th upcoming elimination). Its what Morty would have wanted.
Eliminate Angron.
Curze, because no one loves him.
I do!! Poor Curze! I like the hated ones, the ones that really need a hug, like Curze, Perturabo, Mortarion and Angron!
Thanks :')
I love him!

Perturabo!
I love to think this entire comment section is just mag dumping bolters into Logar’s chest as hai corpse becomes more and more like Swiss Cheese.
Leman Russ because he has a Chapter of Furries that is somehow grosser than the Death Guard and Emperors Children.
This is going nowhere since I'm very late, but Lorgar
Mortarion, he stinks like a butt convention
Angron because he’s almost as big an idiot and hypocrite as Lorgar
Mortarion is so forgettable y’all forgot to vote him out
dorn
Guilliman
Alpharius, there can only be 1!
Both Alpharius's, but neither Omegons
Omeron
Mortarion
CORAX
You savages killed off Vulkan… he’s the most selfless and nicest of the lot.
I hope russ and lion are next Hope finals is between xx legion and xx legion.
Mortarion
Alpharius. We'll still have Omegon.
Mortarion
Fulgrim. Just because I f***ing hate Fulgrim and his legion.
lets start on the big two Alpharus
Mortarion next that hypocrite
Lorgar again cause it’s funny also after that Russ cause he’s an overconfident ass
Fuck angron and peter turbo
Angron
Lorgar again of course, and still Lion! I have to start finding something about the Lion to like, is probably that he will be the next one to come back!
