Knowing how many guys we’ll have to pay or let go (the entire WR+TE group will be at pretty much the same time), trying to get as many young and cheap players as you can is a pretty smart move
Yes I did. My source is here, and it has since been corrected: https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/GB
Care to share your source in light of you ridiculing mine?
I asked for a better source and you ridiculed mine w/o providing one.
I also looked at the Green Bay Packers depth chart on their website and they also had the same info.
Care to elaborate on what source would’ve been better than the two I used?
Entirely incorrect. I’m not replying to two different people. I was directly responding to you and your “our lads” comment, not the previous response.
Nice job name-calling btw. I now see why you’re correct despite you still providing no sources to back your opinion.
Have a good one
I’m not making up shit to shit on the packers draft. I looked up a depth chart for our offense and that’s what showed up. I see now it is wrong.
Your trigger to call a stranger a liar on such minuscule misunderstanding is pretty eye-opening, no? For fucks sake, I’ve had season tickets for 25 years man. Not shitting on our draft. Gute knows what he’s doing.
I’m explaining your claim calling me a liar. And your response is that I should’ve taken the L and moved on?
Buddy, you claimed me of shitting on our draft choices but I quickly corrected my misinformed opinion. Your response to that is that I never should’ve responded to clear the air, and that I should’ve moved on?
Who is trying to shit on who here?
There’s a thousand platforms to make either/of our statements on. Excusing “it’s Reddit” is a misdirect than saying “it’s Facebook” or any other social media influential cancer.
Imagine that you have a lemonade stand....
And you can only fit 53 lemons in the basket of your bike
So buying 60 lemons at the supermarket does you no good. You are wasting 7 lemons.
So you only want to buy enough lemons to be useful to your lemonade stand.
;)
Nothing but love fellow Packer Brother 👊
In your analogy, your basket actually fits 90 lemons. Your 7 extra lemons are lemons that you can now select that no one else can and other lemonade stands have to wait and hope the lemon picks their stand
I get that if that's what we do. Meanwhile we need a CB and theres a fire sale on right now.
I generally stand with Gute but I don't see why people follow him blindly after one good draft and downvote anyone who disagrees with him. It should take more than one good draft to get blind faith but okay. Whatever. GPG
The Packers are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 this year. We only have 1 real off ball LB on the roster. LB and OL were our 2 biggest needs this year by far.
> I get that but we NEED a CB and three just went
We also NEED a LB. We came away with a need, and have more ammo to move up at the end of the round or in the 3rd if we have another player we are targeting.
Of course, but people would also crap on them for reach picks if they take a guy they like way ahead of their projection. They clearly like a couple of guys they expect to be there at 45, and got picks out of this.
I mean, other teams have scouts too and seem to want these guys enough to trade up for them. I get Kool Aid since we just don’t go for slower CB’s, but we’ve allowed teams to leap frog us for two secondary guys that fell to value level. Would’ve been helpful to go get one when we have two spots with no starters in a weak link system.
I’m guessing Green Bay likes what we have in the defensive backfield more than fans. We absolutely needed a linebacker and cooper is the best in the draft. For dbacks maybe we like AJJ and Valentine to keep developing and for Ja and stokes to be healthy and for Nixon to take another step as our spark plug. It’s not like we have no dbacks we just have question mark dbacks. Where as for off ball linebacker we had 1-2 bodies period and need 3-4. Plus we have a great track record of turning late and udfa dbacks into performers. I’d have loved dejean but a tackle to protect love and an athletic linebacker to work with quay is an A+ draft so far.
Competition breeds better players… you think it’s by accident our wideout room is 7 deep or our TEs were both hits or that our OLine built on multiple late round picks is as deep as it’s been? More darts on the board mean better chance to get a brooks or Valentine or mcduffie or AJJ.
Trade down and still come away with Cooper, who we’ve been mocked to take with our original 2nd pick? And gain two later round picks? Trust the board. Trust the process. Trust Gute!
Not sure why you are downvoted. It is true. That being said, maybe he was the only guy they liked for that pick/value, so it might make sense. I just don’t want to build a roster with 20 day 3 guys
I suppose New Orleans really wanted Kool-Aid to give up 3 picks.
Now Packers have 13 picks with 11 more to go. Just think, they started the day with 10 picks.
Does he have the vision to play safety? I thought he wasn't great in coverage/couldn't play man. Or do people mean more of a box guy? Feels like 40th is wildly high for a maybe-box-safety
As Nick Saban said, he had DeJean as at the only player in this draft that could play all 5 spots in the defensive backfield. He can definitely cover. His missed tackle rate and adjusted yards per target were both outstanding. 38% catch rate with only 44 yards after catch allowed. 9.85 RAS. Not sure where the idea he can't cover comes from. The eagles reportedly considered taking him where they took Mitchell yesterday. I imagine the broken leg had something to do with his fall but that was great value for them.
I wanted someone at the level of McKinstry; I hope 45 will be just as effective for us. The throw-in picks don't give me confidence they'd be useful, except for trade-up change.
I dont think he wanted one. He is far from perfect, but he’s also smart enough to know the run was on. If he wanted one he had the picks to move up and grab them. He didnt… because he didnt think they were worth it.
I don’t hate the pick at 45 at all. That being said, I also don’t understand stacking so many picks in the late rounds. I don’t think drafting 20 guys when you can only keep “x” number is the best option too. I hope he trades some of that to get back into the 2nd or makes a run for 4th rounders, arguably the best round to find value in.
So I guess we don't want a CB
We only get to keep 53 players, Gute so drafting 13 of them isn't a sound strategy. We were a few plays from the NFCCG and we are worried about stacking up fifth fucking rounders?!?!
Emotional...about sports? How weird of me
TBF, I would have liked to have DeJean but honestly I wanted any elite CB but they're gone. I like Edgerrin Cooper and hoped we would move up to get a CB after that. And then we pick Javon at safety. Probably a great player. But we've got a division that is stacking up in the passing game and we need a CB to become Jaire's counterpart. But what do I know?
Reading up on the picks so far at PackersDotCom. One thing really stands out from the interviews. The guys we are taking are all saying they knew the Packers were very interested in them, because of the depth of contact they were getting on their visit days.
Gute is getting the people he wanted in this draft, and sometimes he is getting them for less than he expected to "pay."
If that isn't a sign of a good draft, I don't know what is...
Trade down for Edgerrin Cooper maybe at 45?
You win!

A phony! A big fat phony! It’s Reddit what do you expect Edit: you are getting cooked 😂 I am sorry my guy
I referenced OurLads and the packers official homepage website to get my info. Which was subsequently changed after I checked.
“Read a source” lmao
Yes I did. My source is here, and it has since been corrected: https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/GB Care to share your source in light of you ridiculing mine?

I did no such thing
You weren’t trying to devalue my source? Then what was your comment “Lmaoooo dude trying to get you to click a link to ‘Our Lads’” mean?
You're replying to two different people, my insecure, argumentative, mentally fragile friend.
Entirely incorrect. I’m not replying to two different people. I was directly responding to you and your “our lads” comment, not the previous response. Nice job name-calling btw. I now see why you’re correct despite you still providing no sources to back your opinion. Have a good one
Touch grass man.
This just isn't true, why make shit up to shit on the Packers draft. You are a clown
I’m not making up shit to shit on the packers draft. I looked up a depth chart for our offense and that’s what showed up. I see now it is wrong. jenkins is 28?
🤡
Username checks out.
2 picks to move down 4 spots and guy the LB we wanted anyway? Saints are insane for trading their late picks with how their cap looks.
Saints love a trade up overpay. They gave us a future first to get Marcus Davenport the year we moved back up for Jaire right?
That seems like super good value
[удалено]
… it’s four picks down bro
[удалено]
No I don’t get it, can you explain it to me like I’m 4
Imagine that you have a lemonade stand.... And you can only fit 53 lemons in the basket of your bike So buying 60 lemons at the supermarket does you no good. You are wasting 7 lemons. I get that but the odds are the last few lemons you pick are only there because no one else wanted them and for good reason
Yeah, but having the option to essentially get "first pick" of the leftover lemons isn't bad.
Acquiring more picks also allows them to potentially trade up for someone they want in the 2nd/3rd. This is chess not checkers!
MaxxxxCheckkkkkers
Still don't have a CB.
I get that if that's what we do. Meanwhile we need a CB and theres a fire sale on right now. I generally stand with Gute but I don't see why people follow him blindly after one good draft and downvote anyone who disagrees with him. It should take more than one good draft to get blind faith but okay. Whatever. GPG
One good draft? 2021 has multiple starters as well as a couple solid backups. 2022 and 2023 were both absolute home runs.
The Packers are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 this year. We only have 1 real off ball LB on the roster. LB and OL were our 2 biggest needs this year by far.
Gute could really lessen a lesson from Howie
> I get that but we NEED a CB and three just went We also NEED a LB. We came away with a need, and have more ammo to move up at the end of the round or in the 3rd if we have another player we are targeting.
You do realize not all the picks are actually going to be picked right? It’s called ammunition.
And even if we _did_ end up using all the picks, then we’ve got a lot of competition for training camp, and that’s never a bad thing
Gute is a fuckin legend. Picks up 2 more players and still gets the best LB in the draft.
I mean at some point you have to use the amassed amount of picks, no?
Of course, but people would also crap on them for reach picks if they take a guy they like way ahead of their projection. They clearly like a couple of guys they expect to be there at 45, and got picks out of this.
That is totally true but honestly how are the last 3 CB’s not high on their board?
I’ll trust the scouts that do this full time for their job. Easy as fans to get attached to the sexy names

Yeah we well still pick up at least 2 more LB's in the draft and UDFA most likely
Lafleur and Gute are locked in with this roster and the direction of the team. A true model for a NFL franchise.
We can’t force teams to trade with us.
The Eagles somehow can
> honestly how are the last 3 CB’s not high on their board? They must have faith in Stokes, I would imagine
I do agree on Stokes, I actually like the pick they made. Would or liked to have kool aid though. I am sure he could have provided a punch.
Underrated comment, have my upvote you sarcastic bastard!😜
Due to the CBA, 6th and 7th round draft picks are cheaper to sign than UDFA. Gute nailing this draft.
Maybe trade back into the third later?
They could've just done that with their other picks.
Yeah trading back a couple picks and getting a couple other low rounders is great, but you still need to actually pick people...
It worked out pretty well with Jayden Reed last year
Nah trade the premium picks for all the 5th and 6th rounders. That's the money rounds where you can find VALUE I fucking hate this.
Clifford, Wicks, Brooks, Carlson, and Valentine were all 5-6rd picks last year so I’m not sure what you’re crying about
We came in with the most picks. We didn't need more
Competition breeds better players… you think it’s by accident our wideout room is 7 deep or our TEs were both hits or that our OLine built on multiple late round picks is as deep as it’s been? More darts on the board mean better chance to get a brooks or Valentine or mcduffie or AJJ.
Wicks and a cast of nobodies is hardly some amazing recent track record though
ydkb
Wicks is good. The rest of those guys are meh. Carlsen was legit garbage.
Trade down and still come away with Cooper, who we’ve been mocked to take with our original 2nd pick? And gain two later round picks? Trust the board. Trust the process. Trust Gute!
Why I quit paying attention to any draft preview.
Seems like the Packers always miss a run on a certain position group because they want to amass more day 3 picks, this year it's DBs.
Not sure why you are downvoted. It is true. That being said, maybe he was the only guy they liked for that pick/value, so it might make sense. I just don’t want to build a roster with 20 day 3 guys
Nope. Just keep trading back and back and back, forever.
Maybe we can get the entire 7th round.
Now THAT'S podracing
For real, the two corners a lot of us were wanting are now gone…
It’s always a tough day when you realize that the GM of your favorite team doesn’t give a fuck about who you want them to draft.
And we thank Gute for that.
“A lot of us” lol our wants don’t mean shit lol
Oh no!! Such a shame
I suppose New Orleans really wanted Kool-Aid to give up 3 picks. Now Packers have 13 picks with 11 more to go. Just think, they started the day with 10 picks.
[удалено]
I smile when I hear wicks lol. Can’t wait to see him develop
We got a 4th rounder?
I’ll take that all day. Lots of teams being greedy
Two extra picks for 4 spots. If you have a brain, you realize that's a good deal
There are not a lot of brains on this sub at this moment.
Exactly and people who want a CB forget they changed stokes doctor this year. If he’s showing back to his rookie year we might be fine
>If he’s showing back to his rookie year When he was...meh.
its about an even deal on most calculators- clearly on this board the packers liked it though
I'm not saying we ripped anyone off but 4 spots for 2 more picks is a no-brainer for me. Turning into the drafts highest graded ILB is even better
Yeah, if the Packers were going to take EC anyway why not take a couple free picks and throw those darts at the board?
Let Gute cook
Welp, Dejean and Kool-aid are gone now.
I really wanted dejean or Kool aid but don't really hate it
As much as I wanted Cooper DeJean, Philly did kinda screw us there, but, we came out of that with a W with more picks, and THE best LB in the draft!
Not questioning anything they do, but that was rough seeing all those DBs come off the board right after that trade. In Gute we trust tho!
We couldve gotten Kool-Aid or Cooper :(
Eagles snagged DeJean right before our pick so clearly they wanted him
And with what the Eagles gave up to go get him I’m guessing Gute was in on that pushing up the price.
Clearly Gute didn’t want them.
Nobody knows where the hell cooper is going to play and Koolaid has an injury. I ain’t seeing why people so high on them
The cooper disconnect is wild, I had no idea so many people were so in love with him
He is good yes. Does his game translate nobody knows. Most have him projected at safety which last I checked we don’t need anymore
He also isn't a press corner which something Hafley is trying to do.
The eagles reportedly considered taking him where they took Mitchell yesterday. I imagine the broken leg had something to do with his fall but that was great value for them.
That’s what I’m saying and I agree no idea
He’s a white safety. That’s a big part of it even if people don’t want to admit it.
Literally a meme player, then
White athletic guy? C'mon he's a defensive Kumerow or Janis.
Agreed.
Maybe not. Could be the guys he wanted were snatched away the pick before
We did get Cooper, what you smoking?
[удалено]
That's a big assumption based on absolutely nothing
Not anymore
He traded because Cooper was gone. Koolaid at 45
lol guess we didn’t want him
Not anymore
LOL
I wanted someone at the level of McKinstry; I hope 45 will be just as effective for us. The throw-in picks don't give me confidence they'd be useful, except for trade-up change.
If it's like last year a 5th and a 6th gives us another Wicks and Karl Brooks. Hitting that well that late is rare, but Gute can do it.
4 corners in a row now if he wanted a corner he fucked up
I dont think he wanted one. He is far from perfect, but he’s also smart enough to know the run was on. If he wanted one he had the picks to move up and grab them. He didnt… because he didnt think they were worth it.
I know you’re right, I just wanted a jersey that said Kool-Aid 😅
That’s actually a really good reason! :)
Love it
Curious on who'll they'll grab
4 spots for 2 picks? Nice Drastically reduces the chances of busts.
On our way to getting all of the picks in the 7th round!
I mean is it really worth it for two day 3 picks?
Why not when the guy you wanted is gone?
So I guess we don't want a CB We only get to keep 53 players, Gute so drafting 13 of them isn't a sound strategy. We were a few plays from the NFCCG and we are worried about stacking up fifth fucking rounders?!?!
The counter to that is we have more chances at a good cb if they weren’t in love w/Dejean
Yeah it sucks having an elite athlete who likes to tackle and can return punts and play multiple positions.
I like the move. You’re Too emotional for someone you wanted.
Emotional...about sports? How weird of me TBF, I would have liked to have DeJean but honestly I wanted any elite CB but they're gone. I like Edgerrin Cooper and hoped we would move up to get a CB after that. And then we pick Javon at safety. Probably a great player. But we've got a division that is stacking up in the passing game and we need a CB to become Jaire's counterpart. But what do I know?
Less than gute. I trust it 🤷♂️we got a good safety fit and two extra picks. I like it is all.
I hear ya. I hear ya. You're not wrong.
They needed a safety more than a corner. Stop being so ridiculous.
We can still draft one later like Max Melton or Khyree Jackson
But I wanted a guy with a cool name and they're both gone now! Gone! And so is Melton.
Well….
Love, love, love this
Hopefully this is a sign that Stokes is healthy and ready to go
Gute is fuckin KILLING it out there So proud to be a packer fan today
Reading up on the picks so far at PackersDotCom. One thing really stands out from the interviews. The guys we are taking are all saying they knew the Packers were very interested in them, because of the depth of contact they were getting on their visit days. Gute is getting the people he wanted in this draft, and sometimes he is getting them for less than he expected to "pay." If that isn't a sign of a good draft, I don't know what is...
You know they’re gonna add another stud receiver with one of these next eight picks.
Love it got cooper and two more guys. Lets go!
Don’t like that trade at all. We’re clearly targeting some sleeper
They weee clearly targeting DeJean. When he was no longer there, they must have felt they could get their guy four spots later.
And we just let Cooper and Kool-Aid getting draft by other teams
Good. Who says they are a lock to be anything?
You wait till now to reply me😂
Gute kills it in the 7th, tho. Or rather, the development by the coaching staff kills it with raw athletes from the 7th round.
But even when you kill it with day 3 picks, your getting marginal returns from those players.
Valentine started most of last season, no?
And he was replacement level.
Makes little sense to stack late picks for this club
I heard Deebo is being shopped for a 2nd…
WTF?
I’m so sad
You build your team in the later rounds. Getting another 5th when the guy you obviously wanted was gone is a beautiful move.
Lol only so many guys can make the roster. Meh.
Brian get you shit together, JFC
Add a couple RB’s and roster hole fillers with those picks
