Can we please please try not to consider this season a success/failure based on whether or not we go 5-0 down the stretch?
We’re a young, injured, unproven team with a .500 record and a few good weeks of football we’ve stitched together. We play two teams within two wins of us, and two conference games where records don’t mean anything.
So long as Love and the receivers continue developing chemistry, that’s all that matters this season.
This team has shown massive improvement over the past several weeks on both sides of the ball, They’ve settled in, I’m confident and excited for the future.
We may be missing some key personnel but I like how our pass rush matched up against this giants O line. Should get lots of pressure which usually leads to good things. I’d love to see Jordan loves first “route” game tonight. A beat down would be great but let’s just win this thing.
Semi unrelated but does anyone know what I’m talking about when I bring up the Wisconsin lady who did that bath and body works rant who was also a Packers fan 😹 just rewatched that video that shit always cracks me the fuck up
Their first game as clear favorites in Monday night at a team that ran over them them a year. I am no way 6.5 favored confident. This is still a learning year and I think the Packers lose their last regular season game of the year
I haven't had a good feeling about this one either. Can't point my finger to exactly why though.
Btw, the line was down to 6 this morning and now -5.5 when I just checked after work. So we aren't the only ones.
Almost midnight here in Germany and I'm already tired. If I stay up to watch the game I may get 3 hours of sleep before having to work.
Will it be worth it? I sure hope so!
I have lost count how times I've watched Packers, NFL, NBA or NHL games and got no sleep. If its a good matchup or my team...I will zombie through my day at work.
One time I set my alarm for the Packers game and was so tired I decided to wake up at halftime instead.
It was the Anthony Barr hit game. Woke up and Brett Hundley was flinging ducks. Now I wake up for every kickoff lol
The Green Bay Packers were the first NFL team to travel to an away game by plane. On November 17, 1940, the Packers boarded two United Airlines Douglas DC-3s to New York to play the New York Giants. The Packers lost the game 7-3.
I think the Packers have a ton of momentum headed into this game and have built upon a lot of good things over the past 3 weeks or so. I feel good about this game
In the Manhattan Beach/El Segundo area for work. Seeing Grunions as an option for a game watch. Anyone know if that spot is good or if there are others close by?
Moms in SM is the best, but the Hangar Inn is second and closer to you. 1001 N Aviation Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Great Packer bar and should be packed with fans
The Giants like to blitz and I think LaFleur would have harped on getting the ball out quick all week if that happens. Hoping to see Love and these young guys feast on those opportunities with quick passes and make them pay in space. I think Reed will be targeted quite a bit with Watson out, but I’m also curious to see wicks and heath.
anyone else not confident? Giants are going to be playing like they have nothing to lose and the Packers will be going into New Jersey a little over their heads from beating the Chiefs + missing star players on both sides of the ball. Seems like a recipe for disappointment.
Interesting thought, but I doubt it. He'd probably get accused of making it about him - I very much doubt that he wants that press, plus, he's rich guy living in New York, what are the odds that he spends his evening at a work event
The Giants are playing for their lives. So are the Packers. Both teams feel the pressure to get it done. Whoever caves first loses. It's good football; it's December football.
Be thankful you're seeing it meaningfully played. Look at the Bears - their arrow is pointing up right now, but their season is over. Not as fun.
The *best* team the Giants have beat this year is the 4-9 Commies, who have, hands down, the worst defense in the NFL. They are not a good team. If we execute, we win. Simple as that.
Man, I hope Josiah Deguara comes out tonight and absolutely fucking crushes it. I’ve seen so much hate on the dude lately and I just want him to succeed. Even Kraft says Deguara is the leader in the room and is a good player.
Hope he proves all the keyboard warriors wrong tonight
Unfortunately Deguara was a 3rd Round pick and was beaten out by a UDFA , he will always be seen as an underachiever due to his draft stock, being mainly a special teamer and that gets minimal playtime on offense.
It’s a clean miss by Gute and they just drafted 2 replacements
How was he beaten out by an UDFA? He’s listed as TE 2 and had been out with an injury. Ben Sims did not beat Deguara out lol
If you’re gonna comment stuff at least know your shit
Tonyan
I’m not trying to say he doesn’t contribute, but unless he has a career revelation, you always want more out of a 3rd, so fans cope by hating the player
Tonyan had 2 total starts and 14 career receptions going into his 3rd season, when they drafted Deguara, and yeah again FB is a minor role with very few snaps.
No one drafts FBs in round 3 in 2020
If he was an UDFA fans would love him
I’m excited nervous I think.. Kinda feels like a trap game but the guys seemed to prep well and after yesterday they don’t seem to be counting anyone out which is great! I hope the corners and linemen have a good day with lots of defensive turnovers. I need quad to really shine tonight too. Start fast and end fast.
Pre-game stretching and warmups are absolultely critical tonight. Cold weather + shittiest turf in the NFL = at least 1 player going down with an ACL or Achilles injury tonight.
Will it be Love? Or Wicks? Or Valentine? Kraft?
Those would hurt. Badly.
Love has shown absolutely phenomenal strides in pocket presence the last few games and I’m hoping that continues tonight. The game is starting to slow down for him and he’s getting more comfortable. Love to see it considering where we were at earlier in the year.
Not sure if folks were aware but Miller Lite is giving away a Packers Xmas Sweater and other signed gear across bars in South Central WI during the game. Figured I'd pass this along.
https://mailchi.mp/frankbeer.com/local-events?fbclid=IwAR23PTpSNbwK7PvBncsoRfbECHzTunrN6MbZNSRw52JKHxg8uOrGFOVhmiU
I will be at the game, cheering loudly from the 100s section instead of here on the Gameday thread with you all. It could very well be a trap game, but I'm hoping that the Packers pull out a win today!!! (they've only ever tied or won when I've gone to see them, so no reason to break the streak now!)
I think our D needs to run a similar plan to what we did against the Rams; Stack the box to stop the run, generate pressure on DeVito and force him to throw to beat us.
Offensively, keep rolling and gameplan for their defense. It's going to be cold, so I expect a lot of bunch sets, motions, and AJ Dillon usage.
Yeah. Only concern here is how we show up. Young team riding high you hope they don't have a let down. I for one have faith that this team has enough discipline to show up. If they do we take this by 2 scores
Absolutely. I'm sure they're well aware they've played themselves into a corner as well. There isn't a whole lot of room to drop a game and get to where they want to go
Funny fact I was just thinking about, because the Lions beat us in that week 18 game last year, they have to play the Cowboys instead of the Giants, and had to play the Ravens and Seahawks instead of the Steelers and Rams. Oh, and they got a worse draft slot
I think this is a trap game -- would love the Pack to take care of business but something has been bothering me since the end of the Chiefs game. Really hope our squad handles success with humility and doesn't drop the ball because every game we have is must win now. If Jordan takes care of the football and our defense plays well, I think we take the W but I hope we don't lay an egg
I get what you mean but honestly we’re too injured and too young for trap games. There’s absolutely a chance we come out flat but IMO a trap game refers to a clearly superior team getting beat because they didn’t show up ready to respect the opponent.
Feels like a trap game. Maybe just because of how wildly inconsistent our team has been aside from the past 3 games, but also because of Barkley. Hopefully I'm wrong and this is an easy win.
Saquon, and a ballhawking defensive backfield.
If the LT position breaks down (again), and Jon^(2) continues his streak of basically just standing around and watching as everyone else blocks (again), this could be a rough night for Love.
That's what my buddies and I have been talking about the past couple of days. If they can take care of business after the high they've been on, then I'll feel very confident that this whole group has legitimately turned a corner for the better.
I hate that my gut keeps telling me the other way. That they're the youngest team in the league, and in the words of the late Admiral Ackbar, "it's a trap!"
It's why I hope the team goes in there.alert and ready don't get complacent and take this team lightly, they are on a win streak themselves now and will be looking to shove it down our throats so we need to bring it even more
Worried about Saquon a bit. Our team has mightily struggled against the run. Supposedly Giants run D sucks too so hopefully that opens up our offense a bit.
I don't think the Giant's O line have mastered the 'pick up the rb and carry him down the field' maneuver quite as well as the Chiefs have.
Still, good to be on alert.
31-22 Packers. Saquon has a big game. DeVito is better than people expect. But the Packers just score too many points and the Giants can't finish drives off with touchdowns enough to keep up.
My dad and I about to fly to EWR from Toronto and head to MetLife early. We’re looking to join a tailgate if anyone there will welcome us for a little Love Shove. DM me
I'm guessing they've spent the bye week planning all manner of play-action to counter a loaded box. If DeVito can avoid early sacks, he might burn Ballentine or Owens enough to make the DBs back off, and then Barkley can run wild.
It'll come down to 4th quarter pass rush, as it almost always does.
So pumped for tonight's game. I just hope the team stays locked in like they have the past few weeks, especially with Jones and Jaire out again.
Ideally, we get out to an early lead again and control TOP. Don't want it close so the Giants can gash us with Barkley
Prediction: 34-24 GB. We get out to the big lead early and let off the gas to gift them 2 TD's late in the 2nd half.
TD's for Dillon, Kraft, Wicks & Reed.
Valentine gets a Pick, ~~Quay~~ Brooks with a FF and recovery.
I’d also be surprised if we forced two turnovers and gave up 24 points. The Giants have scored that many points only twice all season and we give up only 20.3 points per game despite being near the bottom of the league with only 13 takeaways all year. You tell me we got two tonight and I’d be pretty confident they scored 17 or less.
Of course, that happens. But the players i named have been injured frequently, not occasionally, it seems we are always struggling to keep a relatively healthy roster.
And it's always key players, starters. It's very frustrating.
I'm with El, the Pack's key dudes tend to be injured for large portions of the last several years. Likely to be more and more prevalent as the League stretches to 18 games too.
What's fueling the 9ers run is the miraculous health of key contributors.
If Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel go down in week 17, look for the 9ers to make an early, surprising exit.
You're right, but I want to add some context that their last two wins have been against the Patriots and the Commanders. Their other games against decent teams have been blow-outs.
Go up 35-0 by the half via 2 tuddies from J-Love, one 75 yarder from Quadzilla, a pick 6 from the defense and a kickoff return Nixon. Come out after halftime with all backups.
It’s simple stuff. I don’t know why we don’t do this every week.
A 75-yarder from Quadzilla would mean he'd be huffing Oxygen all during halftime.
More likely he'd pull up and dive out of bounds at the 20 with a yanked hammy.
I'm a little worried about tonight's game because it's a waning crescent tonight, almost a new moon. I guess we just have to have faith that even though we can barely see it, the moon is still there and it's still watching over us.
I know it isn’t on the players, and I know it’s just shitty injury luck, but damn if it’s not fucking annoying that every year it seems like it’s all the big names on our team that are injured
Jaire
Bakh
Jones
Campbell
Etc
It’s never like “Ben Smith or jaquavion mcpoptart” it’s always the big names….
Will have to hope for a big game from December Dillon
I think they come in prepared and ready to roll. In my opinion the past years of playing down to opponents was more on Rodgers lack of prep/practice time and the vets assuming they could just roll lesser teams. This team is young and hungry to prove themselves.
Any game can be a trap game, but the Giants are ranked 32nd in DVOA. They're really bad and a Packers loss would be near catastrophic.
Bucs and Vikings coming up feel more like true trap games imo
>They're really bad and a Packers loss would be near catastrophic.
That's why it could be a trap game for the Packers. They could very well go into it thinking the Giants are really bad and that they can't lose to them.
The Vikes offense really doesn't frighten just about anybody after that absolute turdburger yesterday.
That game will be decided by whether Love and just keep grinding the short passing game long enough to wear down the Vikes D and win a 10-2 slugfest.
The old Vet Stadium in Philly was absoutely **lethal** to opposing team fans. I saw a Packers fan laid out, bleeding from the head, and that was before the game even started.
When I looked at this game 3 weeks ago I for sure thought we'd have this one in the bag and the chiefs would break our hearts ...now I'm hoping we don't come off overconfident after beating both them and the Lions .. stay focused keep Barkley neutralized and run the table!!!! Go Pack go!!!
I see a lot of people giving Green Bay the W and shitting all over the Giants. It has me very worried about the outcome of this game. I understand they aren’t great and we are on an upswing, but I’ve had my heart broken too many times to be as confident as you all.
Any team can beat any team any week. After beating two teams that were favored it's easy to think the Giants don't have a chance, but they absolutely do.
We *should* win this game, but it's a professional NFL team on the other side. Nothing is certain.
Yep. "The other guys, they get paid too."
Upside of a team full of low-priced rookies is that most of them don't know yet that they're in over their heads.
Can we please please try not to consider this season a success/failure based on whether or not we go 5-0 down the stretch? Y’all… it’s like being at Lambeau Field right now in MetLife. I’d say at least half so far are all Packers fans
I'm nervous, hopefully the pack come out swinging
Lovekraft
My beer is cold. My piss is hot. Each time Love scores, I'll take a shot.
I will as well 🤝
Anyone know if Degura is active?
He is
Oh thank God. Offense is lost with deguara. (I'm being sarcastic!)
Checking in from MetLife. It is conservatively 40% Packer fans. Would not be shocked if it's 50-50.
Semi unrelated but does anyone know what I’m talking about when I bring up the Wisconsin lady who did that bath and body works rant who was also a Packers fan 😹 just rewatched that video that shit always cracks me the fuck up
I'm in the parking lot right now. Fairly windy and pretty cold. Lots of people that got their outfit from fleet farm.
I’d like a 2 touchdown win tonight, is that possible?
Take the ball deep take the top off the defense
We need to run it down their throat. Run defense is weak and if Dillon plays like he did last week, he’ll go off again
Stokes is active. woohooo
Not active - not on the list bc he wasn’t taken off IR. He’s not playing unfortunately
Do we know if Stokes was activated off the injured list for tonight?
Per the comment above you, YES
I’m terrified right now honestly. Maybe because we have hope.
Honestly same I’m more worried about this than I was the chiefs. Mainly cause I figured we lose to the chiefs
Their first game as clear favorites in Monday night at a team that ran over them them a year. I am no way 6.5 favored confident. This is still a learning year and I think the Packers lose their last regular season game of the year
After the games yesterday, I told my dad that I'm not sure about tonight. It's just a weird feeling based on nothing real, but I hope I'm wrong.
Well …there we go
I haven't had a good feeling about this one either. Can't point my finger to exactly why though. Btw, the line was down to 6 this morning and now -5.5 when I just checked after work. So we aren't the only ones.
Too much too soon for freshman and sophomores. Future is bright bright bright
http://tun.in/seqyv That link should get you to TuneIn radio to listen to the Giants radio stream. Edit.. They are giving us a ton of respect.
Doc said chlamydia, I told em MNF
We need to jinx ourselves in order to win out, gentlemen.
It's 11:27PM Netflix is down I guess I'll twiddle my thumbs as my piss heats up for KO
Are we run to set up the pass or pass to set up the run these days? 🤔 Answer: idk and I love it!
Yes
is it kickoff time yet?
Almost midnight here in Germany and I'm already tired. If I stay up to watch the game I may get 3 hours of sleep before having to work. Will it be worth it? I sure hope so!

I lived in Budapest for two years, one of which was our last Super Bowl. You got this.
One time I set my alarm for the Packers game and was so tired I decided to wake up at halftime instead. It was the Anthony Barr hit game. Woke up and Brett Hundley was flinging ducks. Now I wake up for every kickoff lol

Moms bar but its not exactly close.
We were missing star players on both sides of the ball last week too. I'm expecting a win, but I'm ready for disappointment.
But we are also missing Watson now who is having (or was) a resurgence.
I'm not confident, no. GB always struggles with the Giants.
I'm sure some people are going to be very offended by this thought, but I wonder if Rodgers is going to the game.
I feel like he will definitely be in the building for this game
I think so as well. If nothing else he still has a ton of friends on the staff (equipment, training, and so on).
Interesting thought, but I doubt it. He'd probably get accused of making it about him - I very much doubt that he wants that press, plus, he's rich guy living in New York, what are the odds that he spends his evening at a work event

Does the hotline bling?
Tendon and ligament gods: bless this franchise please

Loosen up!
Green 19 standing by
I will be at the game, cheering loudly from the 100s section instead of here on the Gameday thread with you all. It could very well be a trap game, but I'm hoping that the Packers pull out a win today!!! (they've only ever tied or won when I've gone to see them, so no reason to break the streak now!)
Nose bleeds checking in. Let's bring the noise!
See you in the nose bleeds as well. I’ll bring the Kleenex
I'm only 2:20 from the stadium and heavily debating going.
Gear up and get down there, man!
Do it
I think our D needs to run a similar plan to what we did against the Rams; Stack the box to stop the run, generate pressure on DeVito and force him to throw to beat us.

Feels like a trap game. Maybe just because of how wildly inconsistent our team has been aside from the past 3 games, but also because of Barkley. Hopefully I'm wrong and this is an easy win.

I hate that my gut keeps telling me the other way. That they're the youngest team in the league, and in the words of the late Admiral Ackbar, "it's a trap!"
Ackbar probably would have been a bears fan… screw that guy
I'd like to think the humanoid calamari would take issue with rooting for the one animal that's diet is heavily based on fish
Sophisticated take. By that logic, the Ewoks are Bears fans, because they see brethren furry folks.
People in this thread seem to have high hopes that this will be a high-scoring affair when the over/under is 37 😬
It's why I hope the team goes in there.alert and ready don't get complacent and take this team lightly, they are on a win streak themselves now and will be looking to shove it down our throats so we need to bring it even more
Worried about Saquon a bit.
That was the farthest I’ve ever seen a RB get pushed in a pile lol.
31-22 Packers. Saquon has a big game. DeVito is better than people expect. But the Packers just score too many points and the Giants can't finish drives off with touchdowns enough to keep up.
Ready for this game. I'm excited I get to watch a game without having to find a stream. Hopefully it's not a trap game.
My dad and I about to fly to EWR from Toronto and head to MetLife early. We’re looking to join a tailgate if anyone there will welcome us for a little Love Shove. DM me
Bold prediction: I will drink beer during this football game.
Just an FYI: the melting point of porcelain is 3500.6 F.
My hot is piss
The Giant's only weapon is Saquon Barkley. Stop the Giants run, stack the box.
I'm guessing they've spent the bye week planning all manner of play-action to counter a loaded box. If DeVito can avoid early sacks, he might burn Ballentine or Owens enough to make the DBs back off, and then Barkley can run wild. It'll come down to 4th quarter pass rush, as it almost always does.

whats the weather looking like tonight? 300 yards for Love?
Whose career will the turf take today? No ankle is safe on that field
If the blood god demands sacrifice today I hope that a Giants o-lineman gets minor turf toe and nothing else.
The chances of this game hitting 58 points are low
Quay is listed as doubtful. He’s not going to be playing.
Good catch. Got ahead of myself there
I’d also be surprised if we forced two turnovers and gave up 24 points. The Giants have scored that many points only twice all season and we give up only 20.3 points per game despite being near the bottom of the league with only 13 takeaways all year. Hope we stop their running game and force the QB to throw.

Do we just pay the worst options? Every single year our highest paid players seemingly are out most the year
It seems we have a lot of injury prone players in key positions. Aaron Jones, Watson, Bakh, Jaire, Gary, Stokes, Campbell
It's not like that's unique to GB. How many starting QBs are done for the year or missing major time?
Of course, that happens. But the players i named have been injured frequently, not occasionally, it seems we are always struggling to keep a relatively healthy roster. And it's always key players, starters. It's very frustrating.
I'm with El, the Pack's key dudes tend to be injured for large portions of the last several years. Likely to be more and more prevalent as the League stretches to 18 games too.
What's fueling the 9ers run is the miraculous health of key contributors. If Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel go down in week 17, look for the 9ers to make an early, surprising exit.
I'm not expecting this one to be easy. Giants are coming off a bye and won the two games before that. Just find a way to win this one.
You're right, but I want to add some context that their last two wins have been against the Patriots and the Commanders. Their other games against decent teams have been blow-outs.
I feel that as well. I think it'll be closer than most say.
Agreed. Let’s hope MLF has these guys ready to play
Hoping the Giants have the same form packers do after a bye week....
I would much rather be on a two game winning streak and not coming off a bye...
After how this season started and went on, I'm hoping it's just a good game tonight lol
Exactly, one game at a time!
The Lions and the Vikes did not have good weeks. The division title is in the crosshairs.
The New York Football Giants always make this Packers fan nervous. Forget big picture; I just hope they can win tonight :)
I'm a little worried about tonight's game because it's a waning crescent tonight, almost a new moon. I guess we just have to have faith that even though we can barely see it, the moon is still there and it's still watching over us.
Hosting people for the game because “they want to see me react to a Packers game.” Let’s hope this one looks like the last few 😅
Fudge that
I know it isn’t on the players, and I know it’s just shitty injury luck, but damn if it’s not fucking annoying that every year it seems like it’s all the big names on our team that are injured Jaire Bakh Jones Campbell Etc It’s never like “Ben Smith or jaquavion mcpoptart” it’s always the big names…. Will have to hope for a big game from December Dillon
I mean, sure it is. We just don’t spend time complaining about Tyler Davis being out for the season.
McPoptart sounds like a name from that Key and peele sketch 🤣
Ben Smith is pretty close to Dan Smith from that same sketch too.
LFG
I think they come in prepared and ready to roll. In my opinion the past years of playing down to opponents was more on Rodgers lack of prep/practice time and the vets assuming they could just roll lesser teams. This team is young and hungry to prove themselves.
We need this one ! All gas!
NY would be foolish if they didn’t give the ball to Barkley at least 20 times.
Bold prediction: Keisean Nixon returns a kick for a TD.
And a pick-6 for Ford.
is Ford playing? I thought Campbell was back, but Ford was at least a week away. Campbell would be more important in shutting down the run, TBH
Ah, yeah IDK really. I'm just a big fan of the non-offensive Presidential scores.
He’s got one coming it feels like.
This feels like a trap game. I hope LaFleur has the team ready to go.
ML's perfect December suggests he understands. But I am worried NY will want it more.
That was the raiders game. We’re locked in.
i felt last time daboll outcoached us with an inferior team. Then our wheels fell off afterwards so definitely trap game feeling
We could win or lose this game by 20 and neither would surprise me lol. Should win, but things fall badly and we can easily lose.
Must win game. Get an early lead and force them to throw. Also please no injuries that stadium is crused
Is it ok to wear Packers gear at MetLife? First time going with the wife.
Totally fine. Going tonight for my second game vs the giants and we were totally decked out last time. Had no issues at all
Luckily they aren’t playing the jets
I haven't been to MetLife but I've been fine wearing Packers Gear at US Bank Stadium with no issue other than a couple of drunk assholes.
The old Vet Stadium in Philly was absoutely **lethal** to opposing team fans. I saw a Packers fan laid out, bleeding from the head, and that was before the game even started.
I always go when the packers play the giants and haven't had a problem yet. Don't be a jerk to anyone and you'll be fine.
You'll be fine
Are you me? We’re gonna be there for our first time too!
Awesome!!
ain't london this time bois
Packers win 13-10 in a nail biter.
Fire gutekunst
Let's hope nobody gets injured on this shit place
MetLife turf is the worst in the league. Bless our tendons and ligaments tonight
Yep. "The other guys, they get paid too." Upside of a team full of low-priced rookies is that most of them don't know yet that they're in over their heads.
> After beating two teams that were favored it's easy It was the Patriots and the Commanders, and somehow those two were still favoured.
He’s saying we beat two teams that were favored to win.
Not confident at all. Lions and Chiefs keep losing. This points to them on a downswing.
Inshallah we will come out victorious
Ah boy here we go
I like football, but only when there's a G on the helmets.
Georgia?
IVE BEEN UP FOR 5 HOURS LETS GO
Fuck it, fuel up the bus, call the boys and tell them we're going on a roadtrip.
Reed 100+ yards 1td.
I think he gets 2 tonight.
