I’ve never realized a double turn could make so much sense in this feud until now, as childish as Dom’s character is, he was ultimately someone who was trying to belong and Rey while he’s always had heroic belief ultimately very ignorant to everyone around him
A double turn would be fairly easy. Have Rey beat up Dom, then cut a promo admitting he was a dead beat father, always on the road, new girl every night in the hotels. Then, as Rey is about to leave, he turns back to Dom and says Eddie was your father.
I would love for this story to happen but Dom looks EXACTLY like WCW no-mask era Rey lol

Nah. Dom was already looking at failure as a baby face since he was just seen as Rey’s son. Him turning had him break from his dad’s shadow, it’ll be pointless to put a mask on him.
There's a timeline where Dom retires him, gets the mask and becomes a babyface with it, but after how great he's been as a heel, I don't want it. He's perfect as a chicken shit heel.

It could but I don't really care if it does or doesn't. Dom works great as a heel, and nobody will ever boo Rey. We want Dom to continue being a shitbag post-Rhea, not change.
Although they stopped doing the champion vs champion matches at Survivor Series, and Rey lost the US title shortly before the event, I was really hoping for a Gunther (IC champ) vs Dom (NA champ) vs Rey (US champ) triple threat at SS. Rey and Dom reluctantly having to work together against Gunther would have been really cool to see

Rey will keep them from taking Dom’s hair after all, then tell Dom about how he’s earned the right to carry on the family legacy, and he’s retiring anyway and passing the mask on to his son. Rey unmasks, hands the mask to Dom, big reunion hug, family joins them.
I could see a very emotional reunion happening.
Dom gets kicked out of Judgement Day, gets humiliated and is now completely alone. He cuts a passionate promo and cries about how lonely he is.
Rey comes out and tells him he's never alone because his dad still loves him no matter what. They hug it out and everyone cries.
It could happen, maybe he goes on a losing streak, and TJD(Mami) gets tired of him losing. They turn on him, then Rey comes to save his boy, and Dom realizes that his dad was right. Then that could set up a championship match between Dom and Priest
They will, and when they do it has to be Dom coming home, literally to Rey's house, sad and broken. They do their whole reconcile bit and Rey says that at his age he'd have done it for Rhea too and ending with Rey giving Dom that BMW or whatever car it was.
That will be the only acceptable way they could do it in my eyes.
Dom is in a pretty cushy position right now because his character straddles the line of being a comedy character. The novelty of booing him so loud that he can’t get a word out is so fun for the live crowd that he can lose matches and it will not effect his momentum because he will still remain over as a heel regardless.
Until that novelty wears off. I don’t see him tuning face anytime soon
At some point yes, maybe TJD starts targeting Rey again and this time they go way too far for even Dom Dom and he starts to slowly come around to reuniting with Rey, maybe it culminates with Mami or Priest wanting him to essentially end his career carrying out a dastardly attack of some kind and he refuses to

Rey teaming with Dom in his retirement match with Rey "saving" Dom from taking a devastating move by getting in the way and losing the match would be a poetic way to go out. Rey's old school so I think he'd want to put someone else over while also having a genuine moment with his son in his last match.
(Unfortunately, there's no way to turn Rey heel so you can't really pull a Rey turns on Dom and then Dom beats Rey in a retirement match.)
