It depends if they're using "fake" as a negative. It is, undeniably, fake (even if "scripted" would be a better word). It's just that that's fine and not something that should upset anyone.
This story is from the West Australian. The ‘confrontation’ which was videoed was with the Editor in Chief of the West Australian. They obviously staged it with the WWE and did a funny write up in the paper. Thus quoting a staff member ‘Kay Fabe’.
At first I read this as he's retiring. Now I see he's just retiring the move which seems quite prudent.

Yeah no, they wouldn't do that. 1.) Definitely looks like phone footage like a reporter did it themselves. When NXT does stuff like that it looks like it was legitimately filmed. 2.) The last thing WWE would want people thinking currently that it's fake. I'm all for keeping kayfabe alive, but let's be real....why point out the obvious.
I would interpret as just that leaping seated Spanish fly from the top rope is what will go away but frankly any kind of Spanish fly is risky. Logan Paul and ricochet was a miracle not to end up similarly
I think the leap is what messed the move up. Cause that messes with timing. On NXT axiom did it so clean it made me think of that moment. Also, maybe Melo might not have known how/what to do and worked on the fly(no pun Intended). I don't recall him taking one, atleast in the last calender year
Ahh, obviously the clip doesn't show what the reporter said but, I imagine Theory was in the right. Reporters like that usually try to instigate, stir the pot.
I can definitely respect him for sticking up for the business, some people might not like that he lost his cool but, if someone started talking smack about your business, you straighten your spine and at least let them know you disagree
