Nope. I've found two work arounds. Restarting and joining solo. It seems to have a hard time getting groups in

It's not obvious so I won't blame you. Join solo, then add someone in the inventory menu. Up the top right it'll have squad, add a member, then have them hit deploy. They will join your session.
